I wished I read the comments before my husband said let's eat here, its pretty good. See sign outside saying Lions meet here every 1st and 3rd Tuesday. Well to me that means 1 of 2 things. 1. Food is really good or 2. The food is really bad and they have no other local spot that can hold them all. Well the second one is true. Service started off very slow. Took 10 mins to get our drink orders. Not to mention how hot it was in there due to their a/c out? And the abundance of flies that are flying around. They have on menu homemade Cole slaw and tarter sauce. Cole slaw they use sweet pickle relish in it. Just yuck, yuck, yuck I got the blacken catfish 5 small pieces are $11.49 AND it looks burnt and lacks flavor. You can tell that the fish is frozen. Baked potato was under cooked. And my husband who eats everything hardly touched his food. I know that I will not be returning to this establishment. They are in desperate need of new management or they just need to close.

Service is really really really really slow. It took 10 mins for a waitress to even greet us and another 5-10 mins to get drinks to the table. Appetizer took about 15 minutes to get to the table. We placed our food order about 10 mins after appetizer and 20 minutes after we got our appetizer we are still waiting on food. We couldn't order stuffed crab & oysters because they were out, REALLY?? Food isn't that good, fast food quality so far. You can tell everything is frozen and not seasoned. Only thing that is good is the hush puppies and tartar sauce. I ordered the snow crab and it wasn't as sweet and fresh as a lot of other places in the area. We won't be returning to this restaurant. All the staff seems to be eating while serving and greeting customers that are waiting to be seated. This is a poorly managed restaurant. This is sad we had such high hopes for this restaurant, it has so much potential!!! Thank god I didn't save this restaurant for a special occasion like my anniversary. If you have a craving for seafood in Athens, I would recommend Captain D's to save you time and money for the same quality food.

Service was outstanding. The young man was really attentive and made sure our visit was comfortable. The food, on the other hand, was not what I expected for a seafood restaurant. It was more on the lines of fast food. Everything was fried. The catfish was not meaty and the stuffed crab was horrible. The only good thing was the device, hush puppies and the ice tea. Definitely wont go back. Whoever owns this restaurant is not paying attention to the quality of food being served.

The service was great! Bu the food was short of even being good! My shrimp was cold and tough! it took forever for our food to get to us and when it got there it was cold! So seems to me it had ben back there a while! The last few times I have ate there it has not been that good!!!

An old staple in the Athens area. Good food at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy, but consistent, well cooked seafood. The staff is friendly and we have never had a bad experience.
