We stopped by for a quick lunch. Both my wife and I had chimichangas, beef for me and chicken for the mrs. The service was very good, and the food was out really quick. Despite how fast we got the food, everything was hot and fresh. We really enjoyed our lunch here. We will definitely come back!

Not very good Mexican food at all. Limit on chips and salsa is one basket. Unless you pay more. And the food was very bland and not authentic at all. Also only have their beer and wine license. So the drinks are all wine based and watered down. Other then that the staff was friendly and fast.

Solid food. My tostada compuesta, $11.25, was huge, although the refried beans felt soup like. The lettuce looked a little sad and wilted floating atop the heap of beans and meat. The burrito Del Mar, $12.59, had a great sauce. The flavors weren't great, comforting is probably the best description. Our server was attentive. The place itself was kind of dirty. The hostess said to sit anywhere but the two large free booths had dirty dishes. The staff also loudly complained about a woman who didn't like her take out. They said she was upset about burnt chips. One guy said, "you can't burn chips in the microwave." I'm not saying they can't complain, but moving it to the back would be a good move.

It was ok. The nachos were great. The food seemed well prepared. Just kind of bland, but then again, genuine Mexican food is as such.

Gross. We ate there for dinner and when we were done my husband said, "lets puke and eat somewhere else."

Yelp has a search glitch for this entry...if you type "Mexican", "Fiesta", or "La Fiesta" for Palmer, nothing shows up.... Anyway, I wanted to say I had a great dinner here, probably the best Mexican entre I've had in all of Alaska. The salsa is not as good as at Don Jose's, but the service was TONS better, and the main dishes are all excellent. It's certainly a top spot for food in the tiny town of Palmer.

We loved our waitress who was fun and casual. A very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. We had just finished a hike around the area and we were hungry! The chips and salsa was fresh and it hits the spot!

I love this place! We live close by and find our selves here frequently. The staff is super friendly and you can't find a quicker lunch or dinner in Palmer! Even when they are busy the food is out in about 10 minutes. My favorite is the seafood quesadilla - crab, shrimp, onions, mushrooms, cheese....mmmmm. So yummy. About 15 tabes/booths. Similar atmosphere/decor to the La Fiesta Dos in Wasilla.

Great chips, fresh salsa to start. Big plates, tasty food ... hold on! I think I need to state that this was our one meal of the day after a big day of AK play ... anything would have been acceptable but this was actually tasty!

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and happy atmosphere. Fast service and the food is very good as well as plenty to eat, bring a hearty appetite . I had the lunch special, Burro Cacun. I highly recommend it. If you like salsa & chips with hot sauce ask for there fire salsa.

I honestly was not expecting good Mexican food in Alaska! I was very surprised! I had an EXCELLENT meal. It was A LOT of food at a reasonable price. They give you medium and hot salsa (yummy!) with your chips (complimentary). There was not one negative thing about my experience. The place itself is cute, small, and cozy. I will be back!

Nasty! Absolutely disgusting food. No flavor, greasy ( how do you get beef tacos greasy? ), old held over in a hot pan, over cooked garbage. I tried this place with a friend last year and was very disappointed. Thought maybe it was just an off day for them and decided to give it another shot. Took the wife and mother in law there for lunch. Took forever to get menus and when we did they were sticky. Ordered food and beverages. My beer was half warm, and my wifes soda was flat. The food was mediocre at best and far from being hot straight from the kitchen. Halfway through the meal my mother in law found a long black hair in her food. Called the waitress over and showed it to her. Absolutely no reaction. No apology, no offer to correct the problem. Actually tried to insist that the hair was from my mother in law, who has gray hair. I took the check, left the exact amount due on the table, and we left right then and there. No tip. No leftovers containers. No though of EVER going back there. If I could leave no stars, I would.

12/4/14 6:05 pm I don't expect to get amazing Mexican food in Palmer Alaska........but I certainly did not expect to find old French fries in my Pollo Mexicano. Yes..... You read that correctly. The cooks here care so little about the food that you may get 6 hour old French fries cooked into your fajitas. Is it a mere coincidence that now at 7:02 my stomach is doing hula hoops around my asshole. Let's sum this up quick since I am now in dire need of a restroom. 1) meager salsa/ catsup 2) stale tortillas 3) bland over cooked everything 4) French fries cooked into your Mexican food. 5) food safety here is a joke Got to run before my ass does.

Ate here today for lunch and this food is horrible. Ordered Tacos and food was just warm and no flavor. Tried to explain but waitress kept having excuses. Even the cook had excuses to why food not hot. I ignored the my original rule of thumb. Hardly no customers at noon speaks volumes of a restaurant quality and service. I will never be back and that was a waste of money. They did take steak tacos off bill.

Food is good but, the ventilation is poor. All you smell is burning food from kitchen area. Parking lot is tricky, you can park alongside street if there's a space open. Service was okay all three times I've eaten at this restaurant, but slow.

I decided to give La Fiesta a second chance but it's now the last chance. Ordered chicken fajitas because in my years of experience almost impossible to screw up. Yet, LA Fiesta managed to do it. Bland small pieces of chicken smeared with salsa without the good delicious fajita taste. As another reviewer said, they seem to take no pride in their food. Will have to go Wasilla for Mexican.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
