100th review!!! Came here on a last minute recommendation. Got the ham and cheddar and a sweet bun. They were both very tasty, however, I wish they were both still warm when I ordered them. The ambiance is cute and unique. I do recommend this place if you're visiting Homer.

Quant and bustling Cute atmosphere but crowded. A bit confusing if your new. I arrived and did not know if I was supposed to get a seat then order or stand in line. Stood in line and ended up being in the line to pay not order. Several people in front of me were complaining about how confusing it was. The food was tasty. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came in a large soup bowl. I prefer the biscuit and gravy ratio to be equal so didn't finish it. If you like a bowl full of gravy with two biscuits in the bottom this is the meal for you. My husband had the ham savory which I had a taste of and we both agreed that this was our favorite item. We also tried the quiche and sticky bun which were pretty good. We will be back on our next trip and order the savory.

*Caveat * this review is just for the bakery goods. Call me crazy, but I just ain't that crazy about this place. I may need to try more of a selection, but I have had two different types of breads here, quiche, and biscuits and gravy. It was all very lackluster. The biscuits (both times) were quite dry and thin and the gravy didn't make up for that fact. I had the spinach quiche I think? it was totally unmemorable. The quiche was also dry - overcooked egg interior and quite thin. Maybe it's just me, but I like a slice of quiche to sit at least 2 inches high on a golden pastry crust, speckled with highighted ingredients encapsulated within an egg and cream mixture. Quiche should be fairly creamy in texture and soft. This was like a dense frisbee. Each time we went - 2 weeks ago and this last weekend - my boyfriend insisted on getting white trash bread. The first time we got it, it just tasted like wonder bread to me. The second time, it was warm and had more character/flavor. He also got the sourdough. It had a slight tinge of sour to it, but all in all, fell flat for me. I didn't detect hardly any flavor - not even salt. This place is usually hopping so they must be doing something right, but after 3 lackluster visits and despite really wanting to support this place, I think I'm taking my business elsewhere for a while.

I wish I realized Two Sisters Bakery was also serving dinner! Visiting from Buffalo, New York we stopped at Two Sisters twice in two days. The first visit was before we took a stroll on the beach to try to get a scone and coffee. Unfortunately they were all out of scones so we ended up with some coffee for our afternoon walk. This is a super cool location with a great atmosphere, kind of hipster, loved all the fliers on the outside wall with various events in the area. I love the sense of community this establishes right off the bat. The inside, oh my goodness, smelled amazing. I smelled the delicious aroma of various soups and even though it was pretty warm outside, I found myself craving soup! That's just how good they smelled!!! I couldn't help but notice this building also serves as some kind of place to stay -- Suites by the Beach. Walking around the outside I was instantly relaxed thanks to the nearby beach front and small bench outside. I also loved the artwork on the walls inside the bakery from local artists. Again, love the sense of community. Our next visit consisted of an early morning stop (like 7am or 7:30am) before we drove to Talkeetna. I ordered a bit more this time around, coffee, quiche, and a scone. All of them were great. The scone was perfectly moist and the quiche was decent, good combination of egg and veggies. Should I come back to the area, I'd love to check out their dinner menu and perhaps add that fifth star. Until then, keep doing what you're doing, everything was fantastic!

Lot of hipsters that give you the sideeye if your a person of color but nonetheless it was fine. Perhaps I looked shady that day I mean I don't think I did but still I tried smiling and didn't get any smiles back. I was not impressed with the atmosphere and cold shoulder. The menu was okay and I think it's more hype than delivery.

September in Alaska may bring a chilly rain and wind with it, but if you find yourself in Homer, consider yourself one of the lucky! Here you'll find the welcoming warmth of Two Sisters Bakery - yep, it's been discovered, but that's no reason for you not to open the door and enjoy as well. The bustling kitchen, pretty much open to view, sends out amazing sandwiches and soups, and an incredible array of breads and pastries (see photos of some lovely (untasted) cupcakes. The mixed berry danish was delicious, with a crispier crunch than most danish, and an intense berry dollop in the center, truly scrumptious! It was perfect with my "sludge" - a brewed coffee with two espresso shots added to rev the day with perfection. Two Sisters was buzzing on a Thursday morning, with locals and tourists, adults and kids...there's lots of space to sit, and the wifi is free. The artwork that was hanging during my visit was superb too - lots to taste, see, and enjoy here!

Some of the best food we had during our 2 week visit to Alaska. We first went here for lunch and then made reservations for dinner the same night. For lunch we both did half sandwich + salad which were both delicious. I highly recommend dinner where everything has a little bit of asian flair. We had the Red Salmon with Indian Red Lentils and the Spicy Scallop Pasta. Make reservations and enjoy the best meal that Homer has to offer.

This is the place to go for pastries and coffee in Homer. Expect a line, and also to run into five people you know to chat with while you wait. Was excited to see that they have a few items marked as gluten-free :). Grab your stuff and walk down to the picnic table by the beach to look at the ocean, then skip a few stones.

There was a time when Two Sisters was Homers best bakery & suites by the sea, but that changed to include beautifully presented and delicious dinners now, served Wednesday - Saturday. Chef Carri keeps upping the specials with her winter cooking school jaunts to Copenhagen and New York City. Last night we enjoyed siting in the garden viewing wing. Our server was friendly and helpful and offered suggestions. We enjoyed fresh Rockfish over coconut rice and a medley of local fresh vegetables and freshly caught black cod served on coconut rice with asparagus from Homer. We each tried each other's and both smiled. For desert we shared a salt caramel desert. And I had a local beer. Good beer & wine choices. Prices were reasonable too. You can take a short walk after dinner to the nearby Bishop's Beach!

This place is hands down super yummy. I got the BLT my second time there which was slightly soggy. I guess that's what happens when the sandwiches are premade. The sticky bun was absolutely delish. Highly recommend it.

Great place for fresh baked goods. Delicious! The menu is small but everything is wonderful. Order from the counter and find your own seat. Super busy when we were there. I had yogurt, granola and fruit. My husband had an everything bagel with homemade salmon cream cheese bi would recommend both

I lived in Homer for six years and never ate here. Last weekend, I decided to get over my hippy-phobic self and give it a go. I loved the three different pastries I tried, and the mug of coffee was my cup of tea. the veggie quiche was rich, the sticky bun nice and sticky, and the raspberry danish was just right. The freshly baked breads looked like they just came out of mom's oven, and if I weren't by myself, I would have eaten a whole loaf. I liked the fact that wifi didn't require a password. I also appreciate that when I lived in Homer, Two Sisters was the distribution point for Full Circle organic produce delivery. Great stop!

We read the reviews and actually talked to a waitress that worked here. We put Two Sisters on are list and had by far the best dinner of all week there. Wife and I had the seafood pasta. It was beautiful to the eye as well as to the palate. My son ordered the Korean spare ribs, wow, very flavorable! If ever in homer again this will be our first stop!

It's clear this place is an institution for campers and locals alike in Homer as by 9 am on a Saturday a line was forming out the door. We beat the rush by about 3 people (even though when we arrived almost every table was taken!) and picked up some of the last jalapeno cheddar scones (the next batch was still in the oven). By the time you get to order you have been breathing in the intoxicating smells of cinnamon and fresh bread while staring into the case of piping hot baked goodness, you will be ready to take one of everything. Don't let your eyes be bigger than you're stomach or you'll have breakfast for days. The jalapeno cheddar scone is to die for. If they are making it that day, you must try it. The scone is doughy, not crunchy, and the insides are stuffed with fresh cut jalapenos and moltant cheddar cheese. I split one with my friend and we almost took a ruler out to be sure we divided it EXACTLY 50/50 (though I tried for 51/49). Her fiance ordered the cinnamon bun which is enormous, sticky and cinnamony. It is truly delicious, but completely filling. The service is a bit slow, but not because of incompetence. Everyone employed at the breakfast hour was hard at work either making hot breakfasts, re-stocking the front case or clearing finished dishes from the room. While the service may not be to an exact science, I don't recommend visiting this place if you don't have time to sit and enjoy the ambiance. The home has a southern charm to it, with hard wood floors, different chairs and tables throughout the room, a side covered patio and an outdoor porch over-looking a sweeping lawn and mountain views. It is definitely a place to sip on a cup of coffee while you plot your next moves for the day. Two Sisters is a destination spot in Homer, if you don't visit while you're there, it's like going to Arizona and not visiting the Grand Canyon.. that's a long drive for nothing!

Um, we ate here 8 times in 5 days. Awesome food breakfast and dinner, super people, reasonable breakfast prices, local ingredients. If you're reading this, just go and thank us later.

The food is amazing. The system of obtaining and paying for it is awful. I've never been there and had a friendly server, or even a smiling one. It's clear they're doing me a great favor by taking my money with their dead eyes and sighs. I live in Alaska & visit Homer often. Unless I have out of state friends who request them with me, I avoid this cluster like the plague. Rude isn't just active negativity in business, but the lack of welcoming positivity.

A fun place to go after early morning tide pooling on the beach. Seriously get their biscuits and gravy...if I wasn't socially conscious, I would have licked the bowl with that gravy!

Best bakery I visited in Homer. Home feel with amazing baked goods and great coffee. Just a short walk to Bishops Beach couldn't have had a better experience. Just make sure you get there a little early as the line was around the building and the goods go fast!

This a must go hang out for the locals. We went to the visitors center and this was a great recommendation for us to try out. Gemelia and I were able to walk in the Bishop's Beach. To warm up we got some hot coco, hazelnut late, brownies, white berry chocolate cupcake and a oooooo sooooo sticky bun. Sorry lent!

Favorite spot we found in Homer. Went there three days in a row for fantastic bagels with salmon cream cheese, homemade soup, biscuits and gravy, lattes, lemonade, and savory pastries. Everything was excellent. The caramel roll is the best I've ever had - amazing!

We've been on our honeymoon for over a week, and this was the first time we were able to sit down and have breakfast together. Two Sisters came recommended by some friends and we enjoyed everything we had. The coffee was strong and fresh, and we really enjoyed the strawberry stuffed shortbread (cupcake?) and the sticky bun. We also split a ham/cheese savory danish that was "OK," nothing special. All of the homemade breads and other pastries looked wonderful, wish we could've tried more.

This place has a good variety of pastries and baked goods that look like they were made well and taste delicious. Aside from being an attractive and very cute establishment, I appreciated the customer service and homey vibe of the place. We got the lemon bars, cinnamon roll, chocolate turtles, maple cookies, and some kind of decadent chocolate cake that was topped with a raspberry and red wine concoction. I don't even remember the name but I'd go back for that cake any day it was so good. The lemon bars were a hit too, they had the right balance of tartness which I liked because most places make those too sweet which defeats the point of adding lemon. I heard they make their own bread for sandwiches which are suppose to be worth a try. Overall, it was very worthy of a stop and I could definitely see myself being a regular if I lived closer.

I stayed at Two Sisters Bed & Breakfast at the recommendation of a friend. My partner and I stayed one night in the rented room above the bakery for his birthday. The room was charming and well kept. The views from the windows are amazing! The servers/baristas are friendly and helpful, and they allowed us to pick complimentary pastries, quiche, and coffee as part of our bed & breakfast purchase. Highly recommended are: their soups, coffees, and their chocolate bread is divine. If you plan a stay in Homer, this people at Two Sisters will take good care of you.

If you are in Homer, please try this place for breakfast. Six of us had biscuits and gravy, granola, and sticky buns! Awesome. Great atmosphere! It was in walking distance from Driftwood Inn.

DINNER REVIEW The woman and I have eaten dinner here 14 times and every dish has been fantastic (except the tomatoes tart special). Sometimes if we are with others we will order 1 of everything on the menu. Seriously there isn't anything I wouldn't recommend (except that tomato tart dish-disclaimer the other 3 people at the table loved it). I am never bored by the menu. Some of the highlights are as follows: -Apps- the bruschetta, lettuce wraps, oysters, carpaccio, any of the specials Salads- strawberry salad and the Hawaiian salad special were my favorite -Dinner-the curry chicken is supper as well as the roasted vegetable dish. All of the specials are worth a try ( except that darn tomato dish). The seafood dishes are very creative. I like all the fish dishes and the -Desserts- everything is made in house. We usually skip dessert but what I have had is pretty good. The staff is really friendly and the kitchen is unbelievably accommodating. It's a pretty laid back atmosphere. Think dinner cafe not upscale dinning. The prices are reasonable and on par for a homer restaurant. It can get hot and smokey from the kitchen, which could be addressed with a better exhaust fan.

obviously the best. Call me biased, but whenever I go other places--even Tartine in San Francisco, which is saying something--I think about Two Sisters and feel that they're really tapping into some magical bread & pastry intuition. It's been going strong for 22 years and when you walk in the door, you know why. I don't know what Homer would be without it!

We had a lunch their on our recent trip to Homer. Was recommended by a friend who lives in the area. Fun place to eat with hundred percent local ambiance. Enjoyed our meal. I didn't like the savory lunch pastry I ordered but I didn't know what it was and looked good. Has inside and outside seating including a front yard with a small playground for kids! Would return on our next trip which I hope is soon.

I would have gave a 5 star but for the fact that they where super rude when we went in . I wouldn't even buy anything else because I don't want to support someone that treated their customers so bad . Our group of 12 will not be back !

Two Sisters is a hip bakery tucked away in a little historic nook of Homer. As soon as you pull up to Two Sisters, you just KNOW this place is gonna be good. The ambiance is excellent- the kind of place you want to while away the hours sharing conversation an coffee. The coffee, which is good doesn't compare to their ABSOLUTELY amazing baked goods. They were some of the best I've ever had. The lemon bar with currant was lovely. The ham and cheese turnover thingie was really tasty. So why only 4 stars? Well, cause neither of them were what I ordered. The girl who took my order must have not have had her morning caffeine because she botched my order and I didn't get what I wanted. Since I got take-out, I didn't discover her mistakes until I was across town. But several hours later, on my drive back to Anchorage as I was inhaling my sticky bun, which I was saving for the road, I forgave her. Two Sisters sticky buns are EASILY best I've ever eaten. You know how sometimes when you eat a sticky bun, there are dry parts that aren't covered with that yummy sticky goo? Two Sisters sticky buns are SATURATED in buttery, sugary goodness and nuts. A knife and fork is recommended. Which makes consuming them while driving down the Seward Highway challenging. You will NOT want to share, even though they're huge-- GET YOUR OWN-- and keep your hands to yourself. If you can bring yourself to share some with your sweetheart, then it MUST be love, because those buns of stickiness are heaven. When you go to Homer DO NOT MISS TWO SISTERS. Seriously, if you do, you're a damn fool and I mean it! Baked goods get an impossible 6 stars for perfection. Customer service gets a 3 1/2 for friendly airheadedness.

Simply spectacular. A little something for everyone. Check out their dinner specials, everything was extremely fresh, cooked perfectly, and since it's a bakery dessert is a must!! Don't miss this place on your trip.

Had dinner. Service was excellent. Single Engine Red Ale was very good. Had the Ribeye which was very good as well. Buddies had the Black Cod and said it was also delish. Had the Lettuce wraps for appetizer, they were awesome. Give them a shot for dinner, you won't be disappointed.

Ok food and below average service. Our waitress forgot to get half of our order, after waiting for 10 more minutes I went to check on. Found that she forgot it in oven and became extra crisp. Only plus is the beautiful ambiance !!

There's a suite in my Bakery! There's a bakery in my Suite! It's both! We stopped in here before a short performance in Seldovia. Coffee, cakes, all the good stuff. They have delicious coffee and great food so on our way back through Homer we decided to stay in their Suites. Very reasonably priced for the winter and great accomodations. Do you love to wake up to the sounds and smells of a bakery? Who doesn't. The beds are VERY comfortable, nice and soft. And they feature the Alaskan local made soaps that they sell downstairs in the coffee shop/bakery. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

This review is only for breakfast. We've visited twice now, and Two Sisters satisfied us both times. During the first visit, we had the vegetarian pita, rockfish curry soup, and sticky pecan bun. I thought the vegetarian pita was incredibly delicious. It's just the type of food I like. However, for the price, I thought i'd be getting a larger portion. The rockfish soup was not only small, but also bland. Sure smelled great coming in though! And finally, the infamous sticky buns. It's that good and more. You don't have to think about this one. Just get it. The second time we ordered a cheddar jalapeno bun with cream cheeese, from scratch biscuit and gravy, and another sticky bun. The jalapeno bun was fine. But it was the biscuits and gravy that took me by surprise. First this was served in a bowl, b/c they gave you such a generous portion. Am I still in AK? There was only on biscuit for all that gravy, but it was nonetheless very satisfying (gravy could use a bit more salt or more strongly seasoned sausage though). I soaked up the remaining gravy with the jalapeno bun. For $4, it's quite a steal for from scratch food. I also like the ambiance of the restaurant very much. Definitely a local place. And service was friendly. I think I'm going to have to return here again tomorrow for the vegetarian pita before leaving Homer.

First off, this place is just what I needed after a long day of fishing. The soups here are amazing. We ordered the beef stew/soup and the chicken noodle. Both were a warm pick me up in the cold Homer weather. But more importantly are the amazing sticky buns that immediately catch your eyes (yes both of them not just one) as soon as yo step up to the counter. They look so ooee and gooee that you call you dentist to schedule a cleaning. After eating these (yes these, more than one. I was on vacation after all) delightful treats, you realize that they were not too sweet, but just right. That's why I had the second one to make sure. With an amazing menu full of healthy foods that taste sin-full, the only bad thing about Two Sisters Bakery was when they ran out of ingredients to make their delicious vege sandwich. Now I'm a carnivore to the bone, but would order this sandwich any day of the week, and sometimes twice a day, it's just that good. The sweet peppers and the tangy sauce play with your taste buds and make you forget that there's no meat. The missing star is due to the fact that we could only order two sandwiches and no more. If you find yourself in Homer Alaska for any reason and you can only stop at one place to eat, this is that place.

I fell in love with my first bite into a savory danish....I really didn't know what love was until we took or visiting family there for dinner. Amazing! Of course it was summer, dinner time, and we didn't have a reservation. (We're from Homer, we don't plan ahead, haha!) Luckily, it was a gorgeous evening, and the kind staff was able to seat us outside. Every course was melt in your mouth delicious. We passed a few plates around, sampling everyone's dinner, and even saved room for a sweet treat at the end. Two Sisters has been my go-to bakery since moving to Homer...that lovely summer evening, it earned another star in my world. If you get a chance to have dinner here, please do so...you won't be sorry!

A three day break from my wife's and my regular routine brought us from Anchorage to Homer. Not sure where to find some good food, we turned to Yelp reviews and decided to try three places that had 4 stars each. Two were decidedly *not* deserving of of their distinction. One is, and that's Two Sisters Bakery. It is all you have read about in the other reviews below mine, and more. Today, we had a lunch that included a 1/2 sandwich, a cup of soup, a side of cornbread, and a glass of the water from the traditional ceramic water cooler. The food was delicious and filling, I think, because the recipes have just enough zest and the ratio of bread to lettuce, cheese, and meat is well judged. A sticky bun to go (pick up a fork and knife there) made it about 25 minutes out of town before it was finished off. It was such a treat! Where else could a couple get such a delicious lunch and dessert for less than $11? Definitely try this place to experience food quality complimented by the bohemian spirit that Homer has in abundance. We will definitely return here when we come back in early April for a concert.

The food is heavenly! This place is incredible. The Biscuit's and Gravy are top notch. The service is phenomenal. Everyone is so sweet and genuinely caring. Its obvious that the people working here love food.

Good coffee, good chocolate bread. Friend wasn't as happy - her dessert tasted stale, but I'll definitely be back - love the location! So nice to stop in on way to beach. It's practically AT the beach. Grab your coffee and drive the 10 seconds to the beach (it's dog friendly so added fun) to sip as you look at beautiful water and mountains. Heaven.

Delicious! We ate there for breakfast and lunch. Everything we had was great. Service was prompt and friendly. Great lively cafe atmosphere. Order and pick up at the counter then sit at a table. Even while busy there was plenty of tables. A MUST in Homer if you need food.

Unbelievable bakery in paradise! Stopped in for afternoon tea when we arrived and returned for a beautiful dinner that evening. Everything is fresh and locally sourced to the extent possible, including perfectly prepared seafood with delicious sides like coconut rice with ginger slaw. Highly recommend - you haven't been to Homer until you discover it!

We walked away disappointed after trying the Cinnamon Rolls , they were dry , tough and tasted old. We wondered why they don't "nuke em " a little to at least warm and soften them if you are eating there. (?) We had to saw thru them with a knife. I wanted to try the Biscuits and Gravy and the gravy was hot and tasted really good, the bummer was the 2 hard cold Biscuits under the hot gravy, same deal "nuke em'. I try not be too critical in my reviews but the bakery items should be star of the show ! The place is cool and friendly service is always nice.

Love this place. Two Sisters is a great place to meet-up with friends or to hang on your own. There's seating inside as well as outside. Not to mention - the beach is just down the road. I have always enjoyed dropping in here whenever I visit my friends in Homer. The bakery is fantastic. Love the white-trash bread. The savories and the sweets here are all delicious.

This was one of our favorite places from our two week Alaska trip. Found it our second to last day and liked it so much we had to go back on our last day. The coffee was good and they had great pastries not to mention sticky buns. It also had a nice atmosphere with a porch to sit on and good inside seating. While most people don't go to Alaska for the food we found this place exceptional. It would stand out in any city.

I'm going to jump on this sticky bun train to yum town! We just stopped in for a post breakfast / pre lunch snack stop and wow.. So good! I got the pecan sticky bun, wife had a lemon bar, Bro in law had a cup of soup. I would rate this place 4 stars just on the smell alone! It smells so good! The sticky bun wasn't the BEST I've ever had, but VERY close. The sticky glaze is the key ingredient. The bun was a bit dry, but I think it had to be to stand up to the gooey sticky topping. If the bun was flavored more, I think my head would have exploded from overload. It really was good. My wife said the Lemon bar was good, and the soup I was also told was very good as well. Water was "fill our own" (Nice!) and they even had children's books for our son. There is even some toys outback for the kids to play with. This place seems very genuine. A discussion on said topic was had once we got back to the car, which resulted in a pseudo intellectual conversation which concluded that the place was in fact genuine and a fun place to be. The people, atmosphere, food, smells and friendliness makes this a great place. Do NOT pass it by!

Two Sisters is one of my favorite places in Homer. Hidden at the edge of town, it is well worth venturing off the beaten path to stop here and enjoy some of their delicious goods. I am personally a favorite of their biscuits and gravy which comes in a big ol' bowl and is a heaping portion. I usually get the half order and am more than satisfied. Their savories (pastry bread baked with a filling be it veggies, pesto and cream cheese, ham and cheese, etc) are top-notch as are any of their cookies and desserts. I also enjoy the wide variety of soups available daily. Typically one is gluten free as I understand it, but they have all be delicious. I particularly enjoy their seafood chowders which I am sure use local catches. I also have repeatedly purchased their fresh bread, all of which was absolutely delicious. The coffee is great too, and I usually finish up my meal getting a coffee to go so I can walk down to Bishop's Beach for a nice stroll along the very scenic shoreline. The building is certainly intimate with tables and chairs squeezed together. This setup usually is no problem, but in the summer inside can get a little crowded and loud. This however is no problem as there is ample outdoor seating which lends itself well to enjoying the beautiful views of Kachemak Bay and the mountains beyond. This is a great stop for newcomers as well as Homerites. I certainly recommend checking it out at some point if your travels bring you to Homer.

We had breakfast here on a Tuesday morning (Monday is meatless) so my daughter was delighted to find they had a BLT available but it was better than any BLT she had ever eaten before. I had the vege quiche along with a Latte and was very pleased with my meal. We spent our breakfast talking with a local couple (we are from Anchorage) and had a wonderful time. Homer is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet and the hospitality here is heart warming. We bought a chocolate brownie for the road and I loved that it burst with sweet chocolate flavor but was very light on sugar. This is a great bakery that knows how to use alternative grains and sweeteners.

Two Sisters is one of the best bakeries I've ever been to! Not only do they bake incredible goodies, they also are a delightful coffee bar/shop. What could be better than enjoying a latte & a sticky bun? Doing so sitting seaside in the sunshine! Great location, fast service, fun atmosphere & delicious food.

This place is a real gem, with an amazing dinner menu! Honestly the best dinner my friends and I had on an 8 day trip to Alaska. I was really surprised to find such inventive and delicious dishes in Alaska, and at a price that was very reasonable. The interior was very cozy and the people were wonderful, especial our waitress Kelsey. I would definitely eat here regularly if it was anywhere near Los Angeles!

We came here for dinner and were amazed by the high quality of the food. We had the best oysters (1/2 dozen for $10), the scallops, the halibut (cooked perfectly in the oven on top of a bed of fried kale and farro), local broccolini (spot on), basket of fresh baked bread and butter, carafe of great white wine and dessert to die for. Total price under $70. Great service too. Recommend 100 per cent.

Fresh-baked breads, desserts, cookies, cakes, pies, soups, sandwiches, plus the coffees and teas from around the world, and everything 100% 'green' - I think it IS heaven! The interior is kinda folksy the walls decorated wirt paintings from local artists, that changes up all the time, and outside, lovely flowers and herbs growing, toys for the kids. It's our usual stop on the way to Bishop's Beach because you just can't have a better breakfast than a big, cheap, crunchy scone, hot coffee and a piece of fruit! EVERYONE in Homer loves this bakery, and I think we're all kind of proud of it, too. I've read other reviews elsewhere and they're like here, almost perfect! Every small place has a few hours of being 'off' and this is no different, but the cool thing to me is this: they know it, they are human, they say sorry and try harder all the time. Who could reasonably ask for more, especially when they work SO hard to bring us all, locals and tourists alike, a taste of bliss in every economical bite? Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it! I MISS it!!

A beautiful little cafe/bakery. The staff was pleasant and friendly. We had a vanilla and irish cream latte which were both made perfectly. But the best part of our visit was the food! We shared a ham danish (which is called a kolache where I come from), and a currant lemon square...to die for! This place is definitely worth a visit in Homer, AK!

A MUST if you are in Homer. Very crowded when I was there but worth it and the staff were very nice.

Great coffee with free refills, energetic and lively place, and best of all, great staff! They actually enjoy being there, which is not true of all places in Homer during tourist season. The carmel carrot cake cupcake with ginger whip was very original, but just too sugary for me. I didn't knock off a star for that, because the flavors are very original and I think I just don't like sweets to be that super sweet. The breads looked really good, the wifi was strong, and you can walk on the beach nearby.

Homer has the best food in all of Alaska. Two sisters is at the center of a very appealing food scene that does not thankfully feature overpriced seafood or less expensive fried fish-which seemed to make up most of the restaurant offerings in the State as we traveled all over. My husband and I had all our breakfasts (CHOCOLATE BREAD PLEASE!) and most dinners at Two Sisters over a 5 day period. Everything was fresh, tasted good and did not break the bank. We really liked this place.

This was my favorite place in Homer. I did go in winter, so the pickings were slim, but I think I would go here all the time as a local too! Their soups are wonderful, the creme brule is equal to any I've had in New Orleans & the flavored lattes are as good as Starbucks. This is a great place for a reasonable lunch, which was hard to find anywhere in Alaska. The ladies working here are super friendly, helpful & patient, I take forever to decide!

Bottom line first: Just go. You'll surely find something you can't resist trying. Here's the breakdown of what my wife and I had over the course of three visits, my favorite items I got multiple times. One note, my wife would probably rate it a 4, but I definitely thought the place was worth a 5. Top items: Jalapeño cheddar bun. Heated up, this was by far my favorite item. Chocolate chip cookie. Served warm, lots of chips... super good. Ham and Cheese Savory (close to a croissant). Lemon Bar (not as out of this world as another yelper suggested, but still good) Not as good: Hot Chocolate. A little bland. Vegie Savory... I have no personal opinion on this, as I'd never order a veggie croissant/savory in the first place, but my wife didn't like the one she got. There is an area out back with kids toys, which was also great for our 2 year old.

Carri is fantastic to work with. She helped us to pick and choose items to perfectly complement our wedding festivities. We ordered turtle bars and lemon bars for an evening bay cruise, some savory appetizers for happy hour following our ceremony, and of course, our wedding cake. Everything was delicious and all of our out-of-state wedding guests raved. Before ordering our cake Carri had some cupcakes for us to try (complete with different fillings). She is very easy to work with and listened to our every need. I can't wait to get down to Homer again for some Two Sisters lovin'!

Sometimes it is a bit worrying when EVERYONE recommends a place to you. Can it really be that good?! Well, the Two Sisters Bakery is - and then some! I learned that they sell out of items pretty fast, so make sure you go early. The bakery opened at 9:00 and we got there around 8:50. I kid you not, there was a line around the building already! Now, that kind of sign only means one thing - GOOD FOOD! We joined the masses to rush the door as they opened and had a sneak peek of all of their wonderful baked items in their bakery case. We ended up getting the ham/cheese savory and a rhubarb crumble. That ham and cheese savory should belong in a museum of how savory pastry should taste. It was perfection! The dough was buttery, but not oily and was flaky with just a little bit of chewiness. Just deliciously awesome! The rhubarb crumble was unbelievably good as well! I am pretty sure I ate the whole thing (which I am sure my poor fiance was not happy about). The coffee was deep and rich and had a nice taste without any bitterness. I would gladly come back here for every meal, wedding-diet be dammed! Luckily, we will be returning in the next few weeks and this place is at the top of our list!

I like the vibe of the place. The selection of baked goods was overwhelming in a good way. I don't know that I've ever said this before, but the sticky bun might have been a touch too sweet. Everything we ordered was delicious. Although the line was long, the service was surprisingly fast. A great place to eat!

I love heading over to Two Sisters for breakfast when I am in Homer. They make amazing quiches and don't forget to top it off with a freshly baked pecan roll! Make sure to have them throw it in the oven for a couple minutes so it gets nice and gooey. On a beautiful morning it's a good idea to get food to go and walk down to Bishops Beach to watch the waves as you enjoy the Two Sisters goodness!

Not just a bakery! Be sure to eat dinner here, on Wednesdays - Saturdays, as it is the best food in town! I have been here twice for dinner, and the food is exquisite! The first time I had a gnocchi and roasted asparagus, and stole bites from all of my friends. Everything was amazing. The next time I had the tenderloin carpaccio appetizer, pickled salmon appetizer, and then a roasted squash salad. The flavors were so amazing. I ended with a chocolate dipped macaroon, after all it is a bakery, so even a small dessert is essential. Make sure to go here to dinner if you are in Homer on a Wednesday through Saturday.

Let me try and put into words how divine this local bakery is. I go though - physical - withdrawals when I am away from this gem while doing operations in the lower 48. Their sticky buns are the best I have ever had. Their bagels have the fromt scratch mouthfeel and aroma that can only come from such expertise and bakery TLC. These passionate people take their time with the products, get to know your name after your second visit and provide a drama and care-free environment to enjoy your meal within an easy minutes walk to the beach. If you are fortunate enough to get to Homer, AK - do yourself a favor and visit this exceptional bakery for a homemade meal that is not to be missed. As an extra special insider tip: Ask the best barista - Jill - to surprise you with a coffee / espresso creation that will knock your socks off. Give her 5 minutes and she will not disappoint.

Awesome food. Crowded, inadequate seating during busier times. Bakery display usually blocked by people trying to order. Is it worth it? Unless you are claustrophobic, yes.

What a gem! I LOVED this place and wish they had one back home! We ate here both days we were in Homer. I really wanted to sample more food from here. I ate their quiche and granola with milk. The granola is made there and honestly, it's the best I've EVER had! It's not sweet. It's good, healthy, natural granola and they give you a generous portion for the price. Definitely try it! The quiche was good and full of veggies. My friend had a savory both days and really like it and their coffee. I'm looking forward to visiting this place again if/when I'm back in town! One final note: they have both gluten free and vegan options available for breakfast and lunch if you need something to take along for your daily adventure.

Yummy sourdough bread! The bread case has a lot of great looking bread - good thing I don't live near there! The food was good but not the best ever. Seafood chowder had a homemade charm - needed a bit more flavor or maybe salt was all it was lacking. BLT baguette was tasty with a thick hearty piece of bacon. Go here for lunch if you're in Homer too late for breakfast.

Strictly a review on dinner not bakery because the bakery is 5-star. ok not great sure didn't live up to expectations steak was tender but dry, fish cakes, pho and salad not big on flavor, well presented. A bit on the spendy side, or what you get.

Five Stars? Yes! Definitely as good as it gets for Homer! Great atmosphere, I really enjoyed sitting there and drinking my coffee and munching a sticky bun. I thoroughly enjoyed conversations with the "sisters" of the place and they play great music. I will definitely consider this a high point of my trip to Homer and will be the first place I visit again. Now I just need to resist the temptation that's calling my name from my bag... Mmmm sticky buns!

Cute little place, delicious baked goods and fantastic coffee. Their grill didn't seem to be working that day so our quiche wasn't that great - hopefully they will get this fixed. Loved their vanilla lavender shortbread!

Believe all of the positive reviews you are reading here. This place is definitely not 'for the tourists.' We actually saw our dinner server from the night before here and she said to us "wow, you really know all the good places in this town." Nice, local place for breakfast that would feel right in a much larger, less remote town. Sweet and savory breakfast options and good coffee. All of the staff were friendly and on-point--they knew what they were doing. A great business that you'll feel good patronizing.

I'm a local in Homer, and Two Sisters is one of the best places to go in town. I meet friends for coffee and/or brunch very frequently because everything is fresh, well-made with love, and it's a great place to hang out and chat. My parents enjoy dinner there a lot because the dishes are creative and incorporate local foods. I definitely recommend this to anyone because it has a large variety of foods and great coffee/espresso drinks. You can also pick up a fresh loaf of bread anytime!

Two Sisters Bakery is a big fish in a small pond! Their noms go toe to toe with any bakery that I've visited. The quiche is awesome and if you aren't dieting, their sticky bun is hands down the best I've ever had! Coffee is good. The help busts their ass (it can get pretty busy in there on weekends) and they still remain pleasant. I love this place. Grab a coffee and some grubbins then walk down to the Bishops Beach and I promise it will be a good morning.

I agree with the poster who said she wishes this bakery was in her hometown. We had one our last mornings in Alaska here. Great coffee, pastries, music, and decor. I love that they promote meatless Mondays. Go at least twice. Once to enjoy the porch, once to buy coffee and jalapeno cream cheese tarts for a walk on the beach just down the road.

Thanks two sister for having not only some awesome bagels baked for me at the end of the Sterling highway, but for also topping those bagels with some super-awesome smoked salmon schmear. I would go to Homer in a second just for one of those bagels. And maybe a sticky nutty bun too, which are sweet chock full of pecans. I can't much about their other food items, but my co-eaters seemed pretty happy with their choices and our breakfast guide, Will, swore by their bread with chocolate. Oh yeah, their coffee was good too. Sorry, when I paid our bill I forgot to include D-Bo's tea, so next time i come by I'll certainly pay up. It will be on my karma until them.

this is one of the cutest little coffee shops I have ever been to! Such a quaint, but eclectic bakery in the middle of an artsey little seaport town. If I couldve tried one of everything, I sure would have! They have breakfast and lunch items along with coffees and other drinks. Our cashier mentioned they do small and large scale caterings also. While there, I tried all of their cookies, a ham and cheese breakfast pastry, and a vanilla cupcake filled with dark chocolate ganache....YUMMMM! The staff was very helpful and graciously answered all of our questions. If you ever are in Homer, AK you HAVE to go here during your stay!

Not exactly sure what happened with our visit but I was super excited to visit Homer just to get some treats at the Bakery. The place is absolutely adorable with a fun back porch and one of the best kid playing area I have ever been to. My 2 year old didn't want to leave and it gave me a chance to really enjoy my goodies. The latte was superb, but everything else is ok. The espresso cupcake was really dry topped off with super hard icing. I never had anything like it before. Nevertheless I'm going to give it another try. Hopefully next time they won't be out of the chocolate bread and sticky buns that everyone seem to rave about.

So, before we'd even made it in, Jodi was outside hooping with some of the hula hoops there in the garden area...It's a good thing! Inside, we enjoyed "chocolate bread," lattes and a spinach and cheese "thing" that was unbelievably good. We got to watch as lunches (sandwiches and salads) were being prepared for the cold case, and as the bread dough was going into the oven. My favorite - still - is the chocolate bread...Kinda like an Alaskan chocolate croissant!

Two sisters has some delicious pastries! We stopped by early one morning to check it out. This place is extremely popular and almost had a line out the door, but it was definitely worth the wait! The savories were my fav, but the muffins were also pretty good. The cinnamon rolls and cookies looked amazing too, but it was soooo incredibly tough to chose. We also picked up a couple veggie sandwiches for lunch. They were packed with tons of fresh roasted veggies, and are the perfect pick me up on a long hike.

To me this is what yelp is all about. This is a unique little bakery restaurant near a wonderful beach. I went for a snack but really wish we had gone back for dinner. If you are in Homer this is a good choice.

I love stopping by this place for a quick snack and coffee. The building is new but looks like an old Victorian house with a nice wrap around porch. The backside has a small play area for kids with a chairs askew. Lilith Fair type music is usually playing. Nice big brick oven in the back and woven baskets hanging from the ceiling. It's easy to spend a couple hours here without realizing it, just relaxing, talking, reading or writing.

Really nice. Every time I'm in Homer I keep coming back here. Their hot chocolate is awesome. I also tried and loved their roast beef sandwich, their vegetable savory pastry, their cinnamon bread, their strawberry rhubarb square. Nice atmosphere and great tasting food with reasonable prices.

we all three had savory danishes, and all three of us were big fans. could have eaten two more! my latte wasn't superb, but considering how packed they were, all is forgiven. really delicious. was in a rush and it was packed, but i certainly would have liked to have spent more time there. next time!

This was certainly the best bakery we found in Alaska and quite possibly the best I've ever found. I wish it were in my hometown. We tried the brownie and the cinnamon roll. The latter is made from what tastes like ciabatta bread dough. Yeah, that sounds like a funny combo, but the salty chewiness of the dough works wonders with the sweetness in the frosting and the spice of the cinnamon. It was by far the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The brownie was also the best I've ever had. It melts in your mouth and is truly chocolaty, sweet, and rich without being cloying. Ingredients in both desserts were absolutely top quality, and both tasted super fresh. Atmosphere is another strong point here. Eclectic decor and friendly staff, who seem like they are genuinely having fun together, make the place warm and welcoming. Interesting music is playing on the stereo. There's a "certificate of excellence" visible in the kitchen to make you laugh. What's more, the views are lovely, and the place is full of light-colored natural wood, bringing good cheer even on a rainy day. If you are anywhere near Homer, go to this place. You will not be disappointed.

An out of the way place in the old part of town, recommended by a friend and I'm particularly happy I took the advice - good coffee, good chocolate pastries, and sublime savory items. I stopped in for breakfast and was so taken by the savory items I went back to take two with me for lunch. I'd be overjoyed if this place was in Princeton, but as it stands it's a major reason to spend more time in Homer next time I'm back in AK.

I was only in Homer for 2 days, but I ate here three times.... :) This bakery is awesome! Their biscuits and gravy are soo good, there's some kind of seafood mixed in with the sausage in the gravy, which makes it so unique and perfect for Homer! Their bagels are very yummy, as is the salmon cream cheese spread. The lemon bar was to die for, as are all of their quiches! My friends that live in Alaska crave their chocolate bread (think giant dinner roll filled with chocolate and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar), a bit too chocolatey for me, but they love it and sometimes are willing to drive the 4 1/2 hours from Anchorage just to get some! There is a great community vibe here and of course they get extra bonus points b/c they have hula hoops and its got a great view!

  • Caroline P.

Delicious, creative soups and earthy-crunchy sandwiches for lunch. From the dessert case, choose the lemon-berry filled cake, with its eyebrow-raising-ly-good whipped-cream frosting (not too sweet.) The rest of the menu features organic fair-trade coffees, teas, and pastries. You can even pick up a homemade dog treat and some handmade soap. (You'll probably need it if you have been camping out on the spit.) The fresh bread is kind of heavy and dense. I wasn't a huge fan, but at least it was actually homemade.

  • Haley S.

The choco-roll and the sticky buns are to die for. Oh and the ham and cheese savory! The only thing I don't like is the meatless Monday. And I seem to always crave the ham & cheese savory on a Monday morning. Great little Homer spot to enjoy on your own or bring your out of town guests to.

Wow. This must be one of the best bakeries I have ever been to. I fell over when I realized they made their own bagels. Yes, I should have realized that being a bakery, but I was still wowed. Everything I tried was above my expectations.

  • Basia M.

Yummy! Such a cute little place at the end of the world! We spend a couple days in Homer and used every excuse to go that bakery - I wish I lived closer so I could eat their sticky pecan rolls and blueberry danishes every day. They also bake amazing bread and the service is great. Cute, funky place and wonderful pastries, can't wait to go back.

    (5)
  • S K.

I would give them a 1 star for service, 4 for coffee and 3 for pastries. You stand there for ever (and I mean EVER!!) without anyone acknowledging you, almost all customers had the same issue for the time I was there. I don't think it takes much to acknowledge a new customer and say " hi! Will be with you in a few moments". We almost walked away.

  • Jim S.

Great food with a friendly staff. They have wi-fi and always play an excellent choice of music that the staff picks from their various iPods. Through the window or on the back patio you can see the sea, which is hard to get enough of. My favorite place in town to grab a soy chai latte by far.
