Very good food with great service. Has a interesting variety with a traditional breakfast menu and then Thai food for lunch. Did not have dinner but the food was good. Don't be afraid to chat with the owner.

Excellent restaurant. Had breakfast here on a Sat morning. Service was excellent, the staff was pleasant and eager to serve. We ordered an omelette and scrambled eggs breakfast. Food was delicious. On the way out we bought some of the bakery donuts for snacking later - they were excellent! Highly recommend eating here.

The chilkat restaurant and bakery is a great landmark in Haines. The thai food is excellent, and one of the only asian cuisines in Haines, though you might have to wait a bit for your food. The staff is friendly and attentive. They also have exceptional breakfast and american options.

Only open about 6 months a year but they have very good fresh made donuts! Good choices for meals because they have both American food and Thai food on their menu. The Thai food is high quality!

If I could give a zero, I would. Overpriced, poor service - companion finished poached egg breakfast while I still waited for server to bring me croissant. Server appeared to be over medicated or in need of counselling. Owner's response to my polite complaint was to not charge us for the coffee that we never received - and since the cappucino's we saw on other tables looked like instant machine made, it's just as well. We paid for the food that we ate, and will not return. There are so many good places to eat in Haines, with competent and sane staff. Do not waste your time or money just because the pretty flowers outside make this seem like a good place to eat.

Came here every morning while I was in town. A very comfortable environment, great coffee, and those treats in the window display are just too tempting. I didn't dare touch any though. I did have their sourdough bread and veggie omelet. If the rest of their food matches what I experienced with my breakfast, I'd recommend the place to any one. At least anyone with a little cash in their pocket. My conservative meal - just a simple menu item with coffee amounted to $20 with the tip included. If your body can handle it to save the wad in your pocket maybe just go for a sweet treat. Personally, the e'clairs and rhubarb fritter caught my eye! Whenever I pass through again, I'll be sure to come back!

Great little bakery and restaurant for breakfast. Great doughnuts and apple fritters. Staff was very welcoming and inviting. Pancakes were very good as were the biscuits and homemade sausage gravy.

Yesterday, after riding the 6:15 AM ferry from Skagway, we stopped at the Chilkat Bakery and Restaurant for breakfast. My wife had eggs and homemade bread toast and I had an omelet with ham, onions, and mushrooms. Both of our breakfasts were delicious. Before leaving the restaurant, we shared a rhubarb fritter. It was good. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent.

We came in for breakfast about 9:20AM on Thursday morning July 10, 2014. It took right at 30 minutes for our food to come. We were just about to walk out when it came. My husband had an omelet and said it was pretty good. I had biscuits and sausage gravy. I was hoping for homemade biscuit but it tasted more like it came from a can. The business was busy but most all the tables already had their food except for one and they were served just a few minutes before we were. I would not recommend this place for breakfast. they may be better for other meals but not the first meal of the day

Great curries!! Wish the portions were a bit bigger, pad Thai large portion. The bakery items looked delicious & a great menu.
