I love this place! The food consistently exceeds my expectations. I've probably tried every Thai spot in Anchorage and this is my favorite! The food is delicious and authentic. If it's your first time here order green or red curry. And a Thai Iced Tea. Take Out is as good as dining in. The food is still hot when you got home. The service is exceptional! One time my card wasn't working (the horror. So stressful). The owner was so kind and trusting that she let me take my food back to work, eat lunch and then come back with cash later that day. I still can't believe how kind and understanding she was about that. The first time I tried MyThai she gave me free Thai Coffee, just because! Truly a lovely woman who cares about her customers. My favorite Thai restaurant in Alaska!

I believe MyThai has changed owners. Had I written this review a year ago, I would be giving a better review, because the service and food were much better then. I went with a friend on our hour lunch break. There was only one other table occupied. We didn't leave until an hour and fifteen minutes later. We ordered corn cakes for an app. They were chewy and stale-tasting, like they had been microwaved. 20 minutes after we had ordered our meals, the server came back to tell me that the vegetarian lunch special menu that I had ordered from had been discontinued and would I like the entree instead? The whole point of ordering from the lunch special was to not pay $14 for a plate, but I was hungry so I said that was fine. My friend gets her meal. 15 minutes later I get mine -- and it's swimming in grease and fish sauce. I inform the server that I cannot eat this (I am vegetarian and have had adverse reactions on my mouth when I've accidentally consumed fish sauce) and I was so irritated, I decided to not order anything since an hour had already passed. Upon leaving, they graciously removed my meal (that I sent back) from the check, but my friend very kindly said, "Hey, it wasn't cool that we had to wait so long and now she doesn't even get to eat a lunch. Could you at least comp the appetizer?" The server was incredibly flustered, like that was a bizarre request, but after consulting the owner she just comped the whole bill. That was nice, but in customer service, should not have been prompted. I will not return.

This is the place that has NO MSG in there food. To find a restaurant that has no MSG is one in 1 million. There food is on believably good. There Quality of their food is extremely fresh and delicious. It's alway clean and there services is extremely wonderful.

Food was OK, service was lousy. Four people served at four different times... 15 minutes between 1st & last. Ridiculous. Also, I've never been to an Asian restaurant where they didn't know what hoisin sauce was!

My Thai isn't bad. But, it's not really good either. It food. I had their Pad Thai and it is goopy. I think Pad Thai noodles shouldn't be a sticky clumpy. I also don't think it should be gritty. It wasn't sandy gritty, more like a soft grit. However, it did taste ok. Service was also good, but it was pretty slow in there. My server was also very nice. Hence an upgrade to the rating.

Celiacs beware. I am a frequent Anchorage visitor and this is my first time at My Thai. I had the yellow curry with chicken and white rice, garlic chicken stir fry (made gluten free), fresh rolls (made with rice instead of noodles), and jasmine tea. I have spent the last 24 hours in the bed with stomach pains and diarrhea. I will not be back.

They are super accomodative with requests such as half of soup, also have separate vegetarian menu. Good food and service! Knocked off one star for over 20 minutes of wait time for order to arrive.

My family stopped by My Thai for dinner on our first day of our Alaska trip. I figure that it would be more difficult to find Thai food as we keep moving up northward so I might as well get it out of my system. I picked this place because it is the closest to our hotel. We ordered chicken drunken noodle and pork with basil extra spicy with a side of brown rice to share between the three of us. I asked for the food not to be made too sweet and they accommodated the request. The food was delicious! Since I speak Thai, a lady that works there and I believe that she is the cook/owner came out to talk to us. She was very friendly. The variety of spicy condiments provided a nice and spicy touch to our dinner.

I have been here twice with two different people. The consensus is, it's delicious. Be sure to order the Rangoon, it's one of the few places in Anchorage that has it (and it's actually made correctly).

Ah! I really want to give this a better rating, but the food just wasn't that great. The location is AWESOME! I also love the atmosphere. The tables are beautiful, the bar looks nice, great decor. Large windows all around; perfect for people watching! The menu is simple but has the basics of thai cuisine. Unfortunately, both our chicken (in pad thai) and shrimp (in pad zee ew) were really really overdone. Like, dry. I asked for 2 star spicy and couldn't taste any and my husband had three star spicy which was almost too much. The good stuff (meat and veggies) was served buried underneath the noodles, so the presentation made it look like there was nothing but a huge plate of noodles. The service was good. So, it's got a lot going for it, but the food needs some help. Oh! I will credit them with the best cucumber salad I've ever had so thats a plus.

The only place I go to for Thai! Its a nice small restaurant, with great food.

Food wasn't spectacular, but it was good. The fresh roll and sauce made the meal. Service was so-so at lunch. Relatively good price though.

They make a nice variant of pho. Loved their selection of red chili sauces. Their spicy noodle dish is very good and they do leave out the egg, if you ask, unlike other thai places. If you're used to a good quality loose-leaved jasmine tea, do not order the tea here. I did, and it tasted like brewed chemicals straight from a pipette (probably lipton tea bag tea..yuck)

I loved this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and prompt. We had the Yellow Curry and the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The sweet and sour chicken had fresh pineapple in it. It was superb. The prices were very reasonable, too.

Good food, awful restaurant. My Thai got a good review in the local weekly so we decided to give it a try. Mistake. Just two other people in the restaurant and it took the waitress 10 minutes to get us menus and water. Swear she was stoned. Had to get up and ask her for the vegetarian menu (which did offer some good options for the meat-free). When the waitress finally wandered over to take our orders, she was clueless about the menu and wrote everything down on Post-It notes. We ordered a noodle dish and she asked if we wanted white or brown rice. Literally had to point to menu items so she could scratch our order down. It's not like she was the only person working - we saw at least four other people wandering around. Then the wait. Another couple came in, sat down, got ignored, and left while we had our appetizer - they were the fifth and sixth people in the entire restaurant. We asked the waitress for the check . . . and waited some more. Turned out the "system was rebooting" so we would have to pay cash. But she never brought a check. Finally we guessed how much we owed, dropped some money on the table and walked out. The food was good but I'm guessing whatever the staff is smoking is better.

This became "Our Thai" while staying in Anchorage! We ate here on three different occasions and the food was always fantastic! Each time we brought more people with us and they, too, agreed the food was excellent. The staff is very friendly and they have a wide variety of vegetarian/vegan menu options available. If we ever go back to Anchorage, we'll definitely be eating here again - probably multiple times :-)

We chose this because it was close to our hotel. Food was ok but the service was not. Our server, a male server is not interested in serving customer. He added an order that we were contemplating but eventually we didn't. He also didn't tell us about not accepting credit card because of outage a few hour ago. I figured out by listening female server around us.

We went to myThai our first day in Alaska. Our lunches were delicious! I had the beef pho, which I would definitely get again. The service was great, and the owner was very nice. We would definitely go back.

I moved from the valley and was in desperate need of a thai fix. My Thai definitely delivered! I had the garlic prawns and left happy with a full tummy. They also have a bar with a few beers on tap.

My husband and I love very spicy Asian food, and My Thai hit the spot. We just moved here three weeks ago and have eaten there four times, one lunch and three dinners. The owners are very involved and so sweet and the food was great, we've had the corn cake app, pad Thai, drunken noodles, pad vun sen, garlic chicken and my very favorite, larb with ground spicy chicken! So delish! We usually get the level three spice, and it doesn't disappoint. The server also brings a tray of different spices, peanut and jalapeños. The chili peppers in spicy oil is very good. You may also want to get a side order of their cucumber salad to help tame the heat. Fantastic place!!

Ordered mythai for the very first time and my impression is they have big portion compared to other restaurants in Anchorage. Although its Thai food it doesn't have thai flavor in any sense. I ordered drunken noodle and pad thai it was dry and was stuck together in a mess. I was even asked for a level of hotness and it was not spicy at all.The fried rice was okay but it is lacking in flavor and quality. I could tell the rice being used was from yesterday leftover and it's already dinner service. Although the cost is cheaper compared to other Thai restaurant in town i wouldn't be back for more. Customer service was excellent so thats a plus wish I say the same for the food being served. For good Thai food this wouldn't be the place!

The waitress seemed really nice at first, even though she was wearing a tight shirt and yoga pants with too much silver eye shadow. A man behind the counter seemed like he was being rude when we didn't know if we seat ourself or wait (since there is no sign). After we sat she was kind enough to get an extra chair for us then offered a half size serving for our daughter. She wanted shrimp with her soup and got beef and a bland soup. My appetizer came out 30 secs before my entree did and my husbands salads came out mins after the cooked meals did. His papaya salad had no real flavor and neither was his Plah Kung. She didn't take any of the empty plates sitting on our table (even after she was puzzling where to put entree plates) till after we were about to leave. Then she goes and eats her meal on the counter and plays with her phone. In fact the entire staff seemed like wet blankets. Unprofessional service, bland and expensive food.

Stopped by for dinner one night. Ordered a couple of dishes to be really hot and they were nice and great tasting. I really liked the texture of Tofu in both the dishes even though it was prepared differently. We didn't want to order the full order of fresh rolls for appetizer and the owner was flexible in suggesting a half order. Being a vegetarian, also appreciated owners flexibility in able to make the dishes without fish/oyester sauce. On the whole, a meal that we did enjoy very much.

Sidewalk noodles/drunken noodles -- pretty much the same item. I order these when checking out a new Thai restaurant to judge how good it's going to be. I wanted to like MyThai --- I honestly did but ..... I will not return. Having just returned from a trip down to L.A. where Thai restaurants are numerous I was re-energized to how wonderful good Thai food can be. The noodles I had there were always 2/3 vegetables and meat 1/3 noodles. At MyThai my take out order was about the opposite --- mainly starchy, DRY rice noodles some pieces of tough beef, and a minimum of broccoli and other vegetables. Just plain --- not good. In fact I am tossing the rest of my meal down the disposal today (unheard of) but I just cannot imagine eating any more of this. IS THERE ANY DECENT THAI FOOD IN ANCHORAGE ? IF SO, I SURE HAVEN'T FOUND IT. Why do the people in this town keep accepting such mediocre restaurants???

What a disaster. My Thai LOOKS like it should be a great restaurant. It's got a cool layout, lots of nice natural light and has a great downtown location. But the service... my gawd the service was horrible. I'm pretty sure the whole staff was stone. I have never seen such a slow moving bunch of folk looking confused all in one location. Drinks came out promptly, albeit the wrong ones... It took 35 minutes just for our order to be taken. Food took another 25 minutes beyond that. My yellow chicken curry with potatoes confused me. The curry sauce was amazing, the food that was in it was a disgrace. I'm pretty sure the chicken and the potatoes were just boiled and then tossed in the curry seconds before serving. The meat and potatoes had NO flavor and the chicken was chalky and slightly over cooked. And since I'm pretty sure that this is how it was prepared, it should have been on the table in under 5 minutes. The other thing that was SO BIZARRE is that orders come out ONE AT A TIME. The chef only makes one plate and sends it out, leaving everyone else at the table to wait. I watched a table of 7 each wait for their plate seperately. By the time diner #7 got his food, diner #1 was done. They clearly need to get more food prep people in the kitchen and less confused servers in the dining room. The size of this restaurant is small enough that one competant server could manage the whole dining room. This place needs some much better management or it's going to fail, which is a shame, because their sauces are amazing.

Family owned, this restaurant is an absolute jewel to Downtown and to Anchorage overall. I had one of the best pad Thais of my life. Freshly remodeled in 4th Avenue mall with a modern touch it showcases some exquisite Thai woodwork! The service is friendly and makes you feel welcome immediately. The true Thai hospitality. The food is amazing! Everyone in my group of six was extremely delighted with the quality and quantity of the food. I shall return!!! And I will so very soon. Dinner anyone?

Haven't get the food yet, but I'm already putting a 5 star!! Because..... We are starving tourist trying to find a place to eat on Sunday night. It's 9:10pm. Most of the places close at 9 pm:( Yes we get it we are at Alaska now! Found Mythai on yelp, called.. The guy who answered the phone was really nice, AND HE SAID THEY CAN STILL PUT A PICK UP ORDER FOR US, even they close at 9! Thank you life saver!!!!! :3 Food review: To go order. Super sweet service! Nice packaging! Chicken green curry is good!! A little bit watery. Coconut mushroom shrimp soups is very good!! (I'm from food heaven LA, and I still think it's good!) Pad see eww is a little dry and lack of flavor to be honest. Overall there's nothing to complain on Sunday night!! Will definitely stop by again when I visit anchorage next time :)
