The Best Chinese food, and you get a lot for your money. I never finish all of my food and they have these great reheat- able plastic containers the food comes in. I usually get their platters that come with a main dish, fried rice, and an egg roll/drink. They also have the BEST pot stickers/fried dumplings. The Chinese donuts are great too! I stayed in Starkville and would frequently take the 20 minute drive to Columbus just for their food. I haven't had any Chinese food in the Jackson area that can compete. I miss it so much!

Great food, shady location. If you want to pick up some really good authentic Indian food and some crack cocain this is the spot for you. The buffet had about 20 items to choose from and they are all delicious. The restaurant itself was clean and had a good atmosphere on the inside, but it's located in a run down hotel. This is a good location for lunch but I don't think I would stick around the area after sunset.

Bob Roberts BBQ

599 W Lowndes Dr
Columbus, 39701
Reviews:
Still 5 stars for a BBQ joint in our area, but I was a wee bit inebriated (and quite enthusiastic - hence the all caps) when I wrote my initial review. *cue palm to forehead Anyway... Bob Roberts is definitely still my preferred BBQ joint. It is without a doubt the best BBQ I've ever had in the "Golden Triangle" area (that descriptor always elicits a smug chuckle - sans monocle. It was coined before the internet and any awareness of the world outside of the aforementioned triangle of gold). The ribs vary in quality depending on who cooks them. When "Bob" (I assume that's the owner's name) cooks them they are fall-off-the-bone tender and mostly meat (not fat). When someone else cooks them they're still flavorful but not as tender and more fatty. I'd estimate that Bob cooks them about 60% of the time. The grilled chicken is also great, and I love the potato salad. It's the ranch style which I prefer to the ubiquitous, weird, sweet relish and mustard kind you get everywhere else, including miller high life commercials. I don't like the sauce because I despise sweet barbecue sauces in general. I wish someone would offer a spicy, vinegar-based alternative, but I won't knock off a star for the sauce unless they smother the meat in it without prior authorization. That's an unforgivable sin. Bon Appétit!
Good stuff. I personally didn't go here to eat, but someone brought lunch back to us and I was not let down. Got the brisket, potato salad and fries. Probably better than any brisket I ate while living in Dallas. I don't know how the customer service is, but the food is great.
I like smoking BBQ. I do it pretty well. I like making BBQ sauce. I've made some good ones. When it comes to BBQ there is nothing easier than smoking pig and making sauce. Brisket, not so easy. That said, it's always a let down to find a random BBQ joint that is just alright. This place was just alright. The pork was grey with little flavor and the sauce was like a generic grocery store bottle. Nice no frills place, clean, friendly enough service, minimal sides. I can't speak for the other food items.

Best Mexican food , very polite and nice employees we enjoy eating here and they have the best lunch places
Mi Hacienda is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Columbus. I don't know what sets them apart, but their tortillas just make the fajitas so much better. Go for the big combination fajitas with chorizo...so much flavor and enough to share with someone and still have leftovers! The margaritas aren't as good as I would hope for...a little sugary, but you can always wash your fajitas down with a nice cold Dos Equis!
I've eaten here so much I have a special table! I love the food and the service is great!

i ate breakfast there and as soon as i arrived every employee greeted me with a good morning. it is so refreshing to be welcomed to a restaurant. my order was taken promptly and with a smile. my meal arrived as ordered and was cooked perfectly. it was a nice experience.
Haven't been to waffle house in a while. maybe it was a mix of not having had it in a while and tired of driving for 3hrs on this particular road trip, but the waffles tasted like heaven... it was so good the bacon and eggs that came w/ it just paled in comparison. now i know why my friends who have left the south crave it so badly.

Reviews:
A few days after moving to columbus afb, my girlfriend and I decided to give this place a shot. We were really impressed of the quality and the taste of the burgers. The burgers are juicy, fresh, and have a good backyard burger taste. The seasoned fries were a nice touch as well. The sweet tea helped wash everything down. Highly recommend!
Much better than the other chain fast food choices next door !

I went for brunch and was very impressed! I had the fritatta which is a dish I've never had before and it was great - cheese, eggs, spinach, sausage, etc in it, with fresh fruit and a biscuit on the side. I also tried the chicken and waffles: perfectly crispy chicken fingers with candied pecans atop fluffy waffles that taste very much like funnel cake to me, drizzled with syrup. One final note: their coffee was good!
Enjoyed my evening at The Grill! The food was excellent, enjoyed the pecan crusted catfish. Jeffrey the bartender was exceptional as was the waitress Becky. Both were very knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely drop by there on my next trip to Columbus. It certainly was a pleasure.
I was surprised. Kind of like an upscale TGI FRIDAYS. Salad was fresh and tasty. I had the yellow snapper which was good.

Reviews:
I moved here from north Alabama wasn't able to find a place that knew how to do barbeque .. O bless you pop's
The secret to good BBQ is not the sauce, it's the meat. If it's not good, no amount of sauce will help. Pop's meat, smoky and 'porky', is so flavorful that you will only want to use a minimum of sauce. I had the large sandwich and ended up just eating the meat...it was so good...with only a dab of the spicy sauce. Excellent BBQ and well worth the visit.
Wife loved the brisket and I loved the catfish. Will add to places of favorites. Only problem is they are high priced when compared to other similar restaurants. Would rate higher if not for the price.
