Oh how I've missed you Bennigan's! It's so far from my house or else I'd prob go often. Wings and the monte cristo are essentials to every meal I have here, lol. Both are bomb. My friend also ordered us the broccoli bites and garden fries. The garden fries were a bit too oily for me... but the broccoli bites were to die for! Broccoli, cheese and bacon with honey dijon dipping sauce. mmmmMM! Fried everything.... Heart failure here I come... Restaurant is really new and nice inside. The bartender on point and never neglected us even though were at the tables instead of hte bar.

I went here last Friday for dinner and was pretty satisfied. I had some broccoli bites with the egg rolls for the appetizer sampler. They were tasty but it did kind of seem like they could be something from the microwave, but who knows for sure. I had the Guinness burger as my entree and that was pretty unique, the Guinness glaze is definitely a plus. Overall it was good but it's not much different than an Applebees or Red Robin, just another chain. I would probably go back though.

This Bennigan's has become my neighborhood Cheers. Do note that I sit at the bar each time I visit so I cannot comment on the overall dining experience. I'm there almost weekly and I often see the same people as well as my favorite bartenders, Jen and Rick. They know my name, drink, and food order, and will hold hilarious and great conversations with me. The food is always good and the chef(s) will accommodate to pretty much any change I may request. I love how there's five screens right at the bar and enough seats to accommodate busy nights. There's only been a few times where I wasn't able to find a seat but if that's the only con, I'll take it. Overall, I am pleased with the atmosphere, the food, and the service.

Short story: service was pretty good, food was not. The woman who greeted us was very friendly/welcoming and seated us right away. The waiter was indifferently good, but perfectly adequate. So, food. I had a Peach on the Beach, on of their non-alcoholic specialty drinks and it was so cloyingly sweet, I just switched to water, I couldn't drink it. I also had the Danny Boy Chicken. The chicken tasted like something that came in a plastic bag, premade and was only lukewarm and not very tasty. If they were grilled, it was a long time before it got to me. The potatoes were surprisingly good, as if they might have been homemade. The broccoli saute was a little too underdone/raw for my taste, but was still better than the chicken. I mostly ate the broccoli and potatoes. Our first choice restaurant was closed, which is how we ended up at Bennigan's, but I won't be going back.

Great neighborhood bar. It's a bit on the small side, especially the bar area, so it gets 'crowded' rather quickly. And the Sunday brunch was nothing to write home about. But they always have cheap, cold beer, their food is solid and reasonably priced, and let's face it, there aren't that many other options in Clarksburg. They also get points for improving ten-fold since they opened a few years ago. Marked improvement.

We lived in this area for a couple of months before a friend told us about this place. We went to check it out and we were pretty impressed. The service has been improving since we first went there. The waiters are more attentive and they come back asking if you need anything else. I think they are doing a better job training their staff As for the food. Delicious. We've tried a couple of their appetizers and the chicken tender bites are my favorite. It comes with fried crispy onions on the top. The onion rings didn't impress me that much. There was nothing special about it. As for the entrees, I love their burgers and fries. I've probably tried all their burgers and I love them all. Especially when you get the burger on a pretzel bun. I've also tried their Rueben and Irish Dip but neither were memorable.

We had flat iron salads and sweet potato fries. Fries horrible, basically frozen ones that came to the table cold. Would have asked server to get fresh ones but he was basically MIA. Salads were good and would definitely order them again. Not sure if we would go back as service was just awful. Restaurant was not busy no reason for service to be so bad. Hostess was quite attentive and tried to make up for waiters lack of attention.

Nothing stands out about this place. Service was mediocre at best; however when I say thank you to a server, "definitely" is not the correct response. Onion rings as an appetizer were good, very big rings. I HATED the Monte Cristo. It was just too much. Too deep fried, too much powdered sugar, just blech. My companion had ordered the cottage pie but the server brought him a Monte Cristo as well. We had to wait for the correct entree to be brought out with no mention of an apology. I won't go out of my way to return to Benigan's.

Went here this morning for brunch, terrible food and service, I do not recommend eating here. 1) The service: Hostess obviously hated her job/life. My family was a great inconvenience to her. Dena our waitress took at least 15 minutes with our drink order. When it came the coffee had grinds in it, and the orange juice was made from concentrate and didn't have enough water added, it was terrible! Took another 15 minutes for her to come back and take our order so we could ask for water. 2) The food: Fruit cup left alot to be desired, my daughter's pancakes were too tough, she didn't eat them, and our waitress forgot our butter twice and by the time she brought it the English muffin was cold. I got eggs with Colby chesse he got eggs with cheddar, well the eggs were perfectly cooked, but the waitress had no clue which was which. We won't be going back.

Came here with the family for lunch, we all got the 2 for 30 special ( one appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert). Considering I come from Texas I have to say the portions are HUGE . I didn't even make it past the onion ring tower appetizer (delicious). Definitely feel like I got my money's worth because now I can eat my entree for dinner! Waitstaff was friendly, and even separated the ice cream portion of my dessert so I could take the brownie home without it being soggy :)

The food was great we had a party of 3 but our bartender/waitress was awesome; the cool chick with the crucial hair was sweet and attentive (not sure how because my brothers were idiots). It was the middle of the day so there were a lot of older folks. We were suppose to be going to the Columbia location but realized they closed the location only after driving for 30mins (i know ridiculous right?). But the food and service we received was well worth the "omg we could get murdered on these roads and no one will ever know" ride. During the day that is lol.

Great place. Our server (Alex) was well spoken, courteous, professional and all around great. We had sidewinders for appetizers they were hot, fresh, soft and the ranch dip was awesome. Alex gave us great service and even told us a bit of the history of Bennigans. I would give this place 5 stars but the soda was a little syrupy and flat and the carrots in my pot roast were not skinned or clean so you can taste them a little dirty. Service was 5 stars !!!!!

Having returned to the east coast after 10 years I was very excited to taste the deliciousness of a Bennigans Monte Cristo sandwich again. My how things have changed with this once hospitable restaurant chain. Lousy service (the waitress asked 4 times if we needed an ice tea refill and never brought it, etc), lousy food (lukewarm appetizer with no sauces, watery Mac and cheese that was cold, etc) and what I find most appalling is the handling of the situation by the uppermost management. After describing my experience via their website's 'contact us' area I received the following reply from, I assume, their manager. All seems well until I tell you that I have yet to receive the gift card or any additional reply whatsoever. I ALWAYS choose to "vote" with my money and Bennigans will not get another cent from me. I've been thinking about this place since my first visit last weekend. Service here is great, our staff was really friendly, enthusiastic about giving us their opinion and favorites. I have to say their Guinness glazed bacon burger was impressive! If I would put all the synonyms that were associated with amazing I would... the combination of flavors from the crispy onions, perfectly smoked bacon, cheese the juiciness of the burger and sauce was just out of this world good. I've also got to try my friend's dish World Famous Monte Cristo, only one word for it - Genies!!! All the sides were delicious too, not to mention their homemade bread pudding and Irish bean coffee... yumm... This was one of our best dining experience around the area yet, well done! We will be back very soon, can't wait to try out rest of the dishes...

I've given them enough chances to get my take out order right. They keep finding new ways to fail at it. For the past several months, I've ordered take out at this Bennigan's 1-2 times a week. But before you can order, you have to be put on hold to talk to the bartender. I usually call to place my order from my gym which is about 30 minutes away, hoping to just drive right in there and grab my food on the way home. What has happened consistently the last 5-8 times I've called, is I get put on hold for over 10 minutes, or even disconnected, before I can place my order. By the time my call finally gets answered, I'm now almost halfway to the restaurant. The result is I need to wait in the parking lot for time to tick by before I go in, or even go home and change then come back. Don't let them fool you with the "your food will be ready in 15-20 minutes BS". I've never had to wait less than 30 minutes for my food from the time I placed my order. Often, even when I give them longer than the time they quoted me, I end up standing at the bar waiting and waiting. I get the same meal each time, ribs with sweet potato fries, and a side salad. The first time I ordered, no ketchup came with the meal. I didn't realize this until I got home and had to eat the fries plain. Ok, not a big deal. I decided to specifically request ketchup the next time. They gave me ketchup that next time, but never again. No matter how much I emphasized I wanted ketchup, it never was in the bag. If you discover its not in the bag, it takes several minutes for someone from the kitchen to bring some out so you can take your meal and go. I gave up and just bought a jar of it and put it in my fridge. On future visits, they seemed to invent new ways to muck up my order. Regular fries instead of sweet potato. No fries at all. No salad dressing. Sweet potato fries that looked like the shriveled remains from the bottom of the fry basket that had been frying all day. I even once had the cook come out of the back insisting that he put fries in my order. I had to lift up my barbecue ribs, getting sauce all over my hands, to prove to him they weren't in there. I really wanted to like this place. The ribs are very good and when you get fresh sweet potato fries, they are good too. But, unless you are willing to inspect every styrofoam container and plastic sauce container for its contents, expect to be angry when you get home. I don't get it. The customer tells you what they want and you put those items in the bag along with any accompanying sauces, etc. But I guess that is too much to ask. This place excels at lack of attention to detail. I won't be placing any future orders with them.

Here for Sunday breakfast/brunch. Food is great; however music choices of Aerosmith, WhiteSnake, Poison, and Quiet Riot for breakfast...not great! 80's "hair bands" all sound the same! Message here...mix it up!

Haven't been in months . Food has gone downhill, porchons are much smaller and service could be better. Was much better when they 1st opened. Hopefully they were just having an off night ?? Will try again sometime soon.

Not only was the food bad, but the service was below expectation. Our waiter was so unfriendly that it almost made me feel uncomfortable. I think her name was Sara or Tiffany, I can't remember. We ordered the Top O the Morning Skillet and their not so world famous Monte Cristo. The sandwich literally dripped oil. When we squeezed the sandwich it came pouring out. The skillet was smothered in cheese. I could have made it at home for less and it would have been more delicious. I also asked for seltzer water and the waiter never mentioned it would be $2.75 for water with carbonation. It wasn't on the menu nor did she know they sold it at first. We finished our food and sat there...and sat there...and then I decided to see how much longer it would take for her to even acknowledge we were still there. Well 18 minutes after we were already sitting there forever, she cleared our plates. She never asked us if we wanted refills or anything else a decent server would do. When she finally came over she started talking to us and then stopped in mid sentence when she realized another table needed something. She then proceeded to take care of them. Really? When we finally received our bill, that's when I realized the $2.75 for water that she never even asked if we wanted refilled. Sorry to say, good restaurants in Clarksburg are hard to come by. I doubt we will ever go back to this place and if we do we will ask for a better server.

Service was so bad. Failed to bring ordered drinks. Really messed up 2 orders. Could not seem to get drink orders from the bar to the table. Gone for too long from the table. The food was very ordinary. Not bad/bad, just nothing worth driving 30 minutes for. Party of 7 @ 6:00. No one in the group will return

Took my dad out for lunch and decided to introduce him to this restaurant. First thing I noticed was that the host didn't look happy, didn't really greet my dad and I. I told him I would like a table for 2, and he just took the menus and began walking w/o saying "follow me" or anything. I wasn't sure if he was checking for a table or he wanted us to follow him. I figured he had a bad morning or something, just to give him benefit of the doubt. Our waitress was nice, had no problems w/ her. I believe her name is Kristen or Kristine, she was really great. Both my dad and I got the Ny strip, and he ordered it medium while I ordered medium rare. It was disappointing that both our steaks came out well done. I advised our waitress and showed her that the steak was well done. I wasn't asking for them to redo it or anything else, just wanted her to be aware of it. In case, another customer orders steak and they can prevent the problem. Our waitress grab the manager, and she came and apologized for the steak being well done. She told us "it's not a problem, we can give u a new steak." My dad and I just told her "it's cool, don't worry about it. No big deal." She offered us free dessert on the house which was nice of her, but we declined it. This place is great though, besides the grumpy host and the steak being overly cooked. Would my dad and I come back? Yeah we will.

I love the atmosphere and people. The food is always good but they don't seem to be able to coordinate the kitchen timing.

The food is good, the beer is cold, the staff is friendly and professional. What keeps this from being a five star review is a pretty crazy policy of a 3 drink MAXIMUM in the dining area. We found this out while playing trivia 2 weeks ago. A couple of hours in I asked for a refill and was told she'd have to check with her manager. She eventually brought the drink, and apologetically explained it had nothing to do with us, it was just their rule. Not very Irish of them, but ok. All in all we had a good time and we'll probably be back.

I really like the burgers and my friend get them often. Word of caution- they NEVER get the build your own burger right--EVER, and it's the kitchen, not the server. Second, if you like a burger that it a little pink inside, good luck. We ask for them as rare as they'll make it, knowing that we might get some slight pink. Today we overheard the manager- from the kitchen- say that if we want sushi, we should go to a sushi restaurant. Great idea, that's where we'll go next time. So much for customer service.

Want to Bennigan's twice last week, had to have a couple more of those Guinness Bloody Mary's. My friend really enjoyed the Pub Punch and we both chowed down on the buffalo wings... spicy and meaty. My friend had the flank steak salad and thought it was excellent. I ordered the Cottage Pie, and thought it was good . I would have preferred more meat and less mashed potatoes. It took a while to get there, to much "digging" to get to the good stuff. I really enjoy Bennigan's, the service is always good and the staff knows the menu . "If you're lucky enough to be Irish...you're lucky enough". Try them out.

I agree with other reviewers who state that the food is mediocre and the service is not good. The service is actually hit or miss...but mostly miss. There has been 1-2 times where the service has been what it should be but the more memorable times were when the service was bad. By bad I mean slow...quick to encourage us to order but slow once the food came. There were a few times where everyone in our party of 5 had an empty drink. One of our guests asked for hot sauce and we were brought a completely empty bottle of Tabasco. Then as I sat there tired and ready to leave with my 1 year old daughter, who was also ready to leave, I watched our server pass our table about 3 times. The food is okay. Not bad but not amazing. No chance we'd go there if it were more than 10 minutes away.

So I got a flier and was in awe on how the burgers looked. We drove past it and made a U turn and went in. Nice Hostess and wait staff. Place looked cozy, the tvs had sports on it... Soon after our server who was uber cool, took our drink orders and then our food order. I ordered an appetizer sampler which had the best quesadillas and some sweet tangy sauce... the nachos were awful. I hate sloppy nachos. So sorry you lose a star there. We got a few nachos for all the crap they loaded on it. When asked for more the server said he had to charge us. I mean what is 10 extra chips? Of course I declined. We ordered burgers and I must say they were damn good. Something about the actual burger made it tasty. I think its like angus or something its def no cheap quality burger like at Red Robin. The only thing I hated about my burger is that I forgot to ask for a pretzel bun, I forgot that I had choices. I wish my server had asked me what type of bun I want because Im very forgetful. Throughout our meal, our server checked on us, refilled our drinks and granted our wishes. I will definitely return.

My wife and I were excited to go up to Clarksburg and visit Bennigan's, since we miss the location on Rockville Pike. The food was as good as I remembered, with old favorites and some new ones. However, the restaurant just opened a week or two ago, so the service isn't perfect yet and some kinks still need to be worked out. For example, they were out of french fries and onion rings, but I enjoyed the sweet potato fries a lot. The food also took longer than normal to come out. Still, I think we'll be back the next time we're in the area.

Have been here several times now and they do a pretty good job. The food is good and doesn't take too long. The kid's meals are really nice in that you have a lot of sides to choose from (not just french fries) and it's a good amount of food for a fair price. The service is still a little random. I like the bar service best. Drink preparation can be random but is usually good. There are some unique Bennigan's cocktails that I like (such as the bloody mary with a Guinness floater) but I haven't found any GREAT drinks yet. Still, the beer selection is good, the drafts are large, and the happy hour food prices are a nice treat. The waiter service at the tables is always friendly but quality varies greatly. The wait staff is mostly young kids who forget simple things like water that you've asked for three times. (on 3 different visits) They also don't know many basic drinks that you ask for, which is okay since they are young. The place gets full quickly and you may be out of luck if you come in right after work on a Thursday or Friday and need a table. There are plenty of televisions which are nice for sports or the occasional children's show to keep the rug-rats entertained while you eat. The parking lot here is awful. It is very tight and the spaces are small. I think the owners did not have a choice as they had to squeeze in the most spaces they could in a small lot. It'd also be a lot nicer if they would have put the restaurant road side in the front and the real estate office in the back. Maybe some day the restaurant can grow to consume the entire first level and they'll keep the realtors upstairs. Buffalo wings are a solid traditional delivery. Large well-done wing, a little too heavily battered for me, but they have a perfect buffalo sauce. Cottage pie is their twist on a shepherds pie and is very good and a healthy size. (a little greasy, but all and all I'd get it again) Entree salads are good. Bright greens with fresh fruits. Spinach bacon salad with sweet pepper dressing is pretty good but always has too much egg and the bacon and sun-dried tomatoes are both chewy (should be crunchy and tender, respectively.) Fish and chip platter looks huge. Burger is good. Sliders are great. I'll be honest and say that I'm giving 4 stars to what is really a 3 star chain restaurant because there is nothing else around. So taken into context that the only other choices are a take out Chinese place, Subway, a couple take-out pizza places and some small delis this is the only sit-down restaurant/bar in town and it is much appreciated.

Food always good. Since there aren't very many options in the area it is always packed. The salmon is my favorite. They have the biggest burger i have ever seen. IThe only issue if the kitchen still needs to work on timing. Food seems to come out all at once or take a long time between order and delivery.

If you like taco salads that are the size of your FACE...then this is your place. But in all honesty it's got a great location and has a cozy feel to it. I can't believe that I found one! I thought they'd shut down all of them.

My husband and I just got home from dinner here. As a Clarksburg resident, I wanted to L-O-V-E this place. Overall, it was just OK for us. I think the fact that they have happy hour every day from 4-close with 1/2 priced appetizers and $2.50 domestic beers is pretty cool. I didn't really care for the table where they sat us. It was in the corner and felt very closed-off from the rest of the place. Also--the lights seem exceedingly bright. They could turn them down a bit and I think the ambiance would increase exponentially. I'd like to go back and sit either in the bar area or in the main dining area. The highlight of our night was probably our server, Rick, who was really great. He was friendly, attentive and even offered me a glass of wine on the house while we waited for our food. Yes, it took a while, but Hogan's Egg Rolls were awesome and our meals: buffalo chicken salad and the Turkey O'Toole were very good when they arrived. The buffalo chicken was pretty spicy, but delish! Well, as delish as bar food gets, anyway. They opened up about a month ago and the kitchen definitely has some kinks to iron out. I think once they get to a point where the service is a little speedier, it could be a hoppin' little joint. At least that's what I'm hoping for...

This was such a welcome surprise. We will definitely make it a stop when we come this way again. On our way home from X-Mas celebration, we stopped by Bennigan's hungry from the road and expecting nothing more than what you would find from any other national chain restaurant. But what we experienced was fabulous. When we arrived the decor was warm, contemporary and above all clean. We were seated right away and our waiter promptly took our drink order. I am gluten intolerant and, although they did not have a gluten free menu, our waiter was very knowledgable about what I could order off the regular menu and made sure it was prepared gluten free. The food was super yummy! My boyfriend and I both had the pot roast with mine prepared gluten free :-) We left with a warm happy feeling in both of our stomachs and back in the road in less than an hour! Our experience was beautiful and we will definitely be back!

Went once and returned twice due to the good service (dining room once, bar twice). Dining room server was decent, bartender was pretty nice. He made our group shooters which were pretty good. The food is typical, nothing to write home about, so don't go in with great expectations. It's a good place to stop in if you're in the Clarksburg area to chill for a quick drink.

Having worked in Clarksburg for almost 7 years. We were pleased to hear there was a Bennigans coming, right around the corner. My fiancée, roommate and myself tried it one night. We were seated promptly and informed the kitchen was backed up for 30minutes. That was ok, we had a nice waitress and ordered some drinks. Went through 2 things of fresh chips and salsa. Once we ordered the food, roughly 25min in, as we were originally informed, it arrived in about 15 minutes. The food was ok but not mind blowing. We all agreed it was because of the crowd and decided to try again. Fast forward a month to my birthday on 1/21/13. The guys took me out to lunch to Bennigans, because its so close to the office. We got there around noon. Promptly seated and there were only 4 other tables occupied. Only two waiters as well. There were 6 of us, and we all ordered the same burgers, a round of shots and a beer each. We got our chips about 45min later. Now we only can get about an hour for lunch a day, so we started panicking and asked to get the meals to go. The waiter stated they would be out in 5minutes. About an hour later, they for some reason kept bringing us shots but had no chips or fries for us in the mean time. Our food finally arrived 2 hours after we got there. Not only that, the 2 tables that came in after us ate and left first. We knew we had a big liquor bill so we weren't going to walk out, but when our food came out, we declined it. Frankly after two hours you don't want food anymore. We got the bill about 10min later and the food was still on it. Had to weight another 10min or so to get that corrected. The bar tender was quick, but he had no others to really serve. The service was plain horrible, and of course everyone at the office heard and knew of our adventure as we were gone for over 2 hours. I haven't felt like writing this review because it was going to take time, but I wanted to share our OK and then sub-zero experiences.

I had to re-write my review for Bennigans. The crew and I dined on Sunday evening and ended up with slow service and burnt food. We were very patient with the service since it seemed they were short handed but came to the food... yikes! I order the steak salad and asked for the meat to be cooked medium. It came burnt and well. The salad was soggy because the dressing had been sitting on the greens for a while. The guys all ordered hamburgers, requesting to be cooked medium.. all were well and slightly burnt. What happened Bennigans? Looks like we will not be returning. I have been here twice now and will continue to return. The buffalo chicken wings are cooked to perfection. Right amount of sauce and breading. The wings are decently sized as well. The husband went with a friend the other night without me and ordered them. Unfortunately, they were burned and very small wings. Not such a great experience but so far every time I ordered the wings they have not disappointed me. I guess it depends who is the chef that day. On both visits, I have ordered a hamburger on a pretzel bun. I wish other places would offer the pretzel bun. It's so good! It is more flavorful than a regular bun. Note, it does get a bit messy especially if you order the Guinness burger. The burger is always cooked to my order. Sadly, I have not tried any of the other entrees yet. I always get sucked into getting one of the burgers since it's a guarantee winner. Hope to adventure their other dishes. The service has always been pleasant. Our server for both visits have promptly taken our drink and meal orders. If there are any issues, the server notify us and apologize for any inconvenience. So far, I have experienced great service. Will continue to return to Bennigans!

I have been here at least 4 times and the food and service has always come out pretty good and as bar foods go, maybe a little better. Try the Monte Cristo sandwich, I tend to go for savory vs sweet when it comes to my lunch and dinner platters but it was surprisingly good. Good place to watch a game plus it's local so it's nice to have the option of walking home after having too much to drink? :) Oh yeah there's also a karaoke night which can be entertaining if you like that sort of thing.

Good service and a pleasant atmosphere. They have outside seating which is quieter and airy. I had their cottage pie special which was tasty. I would recommend it. Friends had burgers and all were delicious. Waiter was helpful and friendly.

We were a traveling party of six and stopped for lunch. Hostess greeted us promptly and we were immediately seated. Our waitress was a petite, soft-spoken, blonde haired girl. She was excellent and very attentive to our needs. Some of us ordered the Monte Christo and they were awesome. Others raved about the potato soup. For those traveling, I highly recommend stopping there for a quick, delicious meal.

I have been 3 times now. The first two times were decent and I would rate them a 4 star. The third time, we arrived at 8pm, famished and walked in to an almost empty restaurant. When asking for a booth, the "teenager" who seated us seemed baffled on where to put us. There were probably 6 total tables being used inside. We ordered our rueben, and our friend ordered wings as an app. He told the waitress to bring them out before our food and he would order his dinner in a few. The last time we saw her was 30 minutes later when she brought out his wings.... ice cold. At that point we asked her where our reuben was and she apologized and said they were backed up due to a party of 30 outside. After another 15 minutes, we told her to just cancel everything and we wanted the manager. She still brought out our rueben while waiting on the manager, and it was cool to the touch and so greasy I would never eat it. The manager apologized and told us that they were slammed as he handed us $10/off expired coupons for our next visit. We were confused though as there was a combined 50 people there, so clearly they will have this problem in the future. I have since written corporate over 2 weeks ago and have yet to get a reply. We will never go back as they apparently do not care about their customer's experience.

Mmmmm, Monti Cristo how I've missed you. Ordered carry out and as expected of a new opening the food took longer than expected. Was I upset? Nope. It's a new restaurant people! If you want some place where food comes out on time and service is perfect, go somewhere else that has been open for a while and has the kinks worked out...And even then there is no guarantee. This place is situated in a really convenient place in Clarksburg. It could definitely use more parking but I'm sure that will be worked out in time. You can tell the staff is really trying their best so I'm don't going to subtract a star for people trying really hard. Hate that so many people go to a new restaurant then spend all night complaining...especially when they complain as they are stuffing their face. How'd you like it if I came to your job as you learned something new and complained all day? Would make learning your new job a bit challenging huh? The owners are super nice and talk to everyone they can get to. I have to thank them for taking a chance and opening a Bennigans in Clarksburg because as we all know there aren't many options to eat out. So remember that the alternative to a Bennigans with slow service as people learn their job is no Bennigans. Now back to the important part, the food was EXCELLENT!!!! Well worth the wait and brought back great memories of high school and college. Will definitely try dining there but on a night when we are not in a rush to get anywhere or starving. I'll definitely be back again and again to support local owners who cared enough about the community to open up a nice place to go and eat.

I'm not really into "Irish pubs" but this branch of Bennigans has recently opened near where we live, and I was in the mood for some comfort food, so we gave it a whirl late Sunday afternoon. "American Fare, Irish Hospitality" it said on the door. I don't think so. We walked into a dark dingy room festooned with TVs, and were blasted by loud music, so decided to sit outside on the deck. Had we been smart we would have turned and run at this point. We went outside onto a deck that your shoes stuck to. It had a view of either a car park or a big screen TV (is there no escape?), but at least was quiet, but sadly not for long. We started looking at the menu and then they turned on the outside speakers, loudly again. We switched tables to one slightly further away from the noise. Irish hospitality? Really? The menu had a good selection of beer and wine, but no prices for them. We ordered a beer and a wine and Perrier. The waitress had never heard of Perrier but she did manage to bring us some. The wine was a very large pour. I wasn't impressed with the food. OK american comfort food is what they advertised, and if heavy low cost unhealthy food is your thing then I guess Bennigans is the place for you. We had potato skins to start as the husband wanted them. The portion was 6 large ones. I was full after the first one. My main course was "House Made Cottage Pie". It could have been great, I'm British and I know how good it has the potential to be. This one was a fifty fifty mix of chopped up meat and carrots mixed with dried herbs, and partially covered with garlic mashed potatoes. After 2 mouthfuls it was pretty boring. Bizarrely it was served with a slice of garlic bread. The husband ordered a buffalo chicken salad, which he enjoyed but was unable to finish as it was ridiculously huge. Any pluses? A great waitress and a good selection of beer, but nothing that would entice us back. When we left there were 2 incredibly drunk people sitting outside smoking and slurring their words, asking how much our car cost and then mimicking our accents. Not a nice experience and not one we will be repeating.

We were HUGE fans of Bennigan's when we lived in FL so when we saw this place on our way home to PA, we HAD to stop. Some big changes were obvious. The place was a lot smaller than the ones we were used to, and the menu was cut by 3/4. They DID still have their potato soup, and the most awesome sandwich, the Monte Cristo. The service was good. The only issue I had was when I asked for my steak to be medium well, it came out almost rare. They fixed it right away and were great about it. The biggest causality of the menu cut was thee desserts. Before, they had some great signature choices like their Death by Chocolate, and White Chocolate Avalanche... Now... Just typical desserts that just didn't sing out to me.

As a regular of the old Bennigan's in Rockville, I was excited to learn a new location was opening in Clarksburg, especially since the selection of decent restaurants in the immediate area is currently lacking. Realizing there would be a learning curve, I waited a while before my first visit. Even then, there was a long wait to be seated - the restaurant is actually pretty small inside. I tried to get carryout, but they said they weren't doing carryout that night. Okay, weird as they'd been open for several months, but whatever. They had their reasons, I'm sure. I came back a couple of weeks later, and while I found it odd that the hostess station had three hostesses, none of whom could seat us for ten minutes despite the completely empty restaurant, when we finally were seated, we actually enjoyed our meal. Despite what I'd heard from others of undercooked, tasteless food, my meal was cooked perfectly, salads were fresh, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. Cut to my third visit, and all that good second impression is instantly quashed. Forever. I could go into detail, but I won't waste time. I'll just say it involved more overkill with the three useless hostesses, lack of service, and a bar tender shouting to no one in particular across bar/lobby area that he would take my order if I would bother walking back to the bar - where I had already been waiting at patiently for several minutes to no avail. At that point, I walked out as did another woman who was having trouble with them before I even came in. I later called back to speak to the manager, and while he sounded genuinely disturbed by his staff's behavior (and offered me a coupon in recompense for their actions), I know it will take more than a coupon for me to darken their doorstep again. What Bennigan's seems to forget is that for now, they're the hottest game in a small town. But Clarksburg growing, and in no time at all, there will be several other restaurants that will gladly pick up the business that Bennigan's seems happy to throw away.

At last! Clarksburg's first sit down restaurant! The food tasted fresh, and the service was excellent. Five stars to keep up the good work, and keep the good food coming. And did I mention that we were there 3 minutes after it officially opened? We'll be coming back for sure.

Some of the staff is great, some are just short of riding the short bus to work. Food is the bomb! Like old times but some improvements. Wi-fi sucks, and that's if it is working. To take it a step farther, only half the restaurant gets wi-fi.

On Saturday night around 5pm me and one of my GF's (Janis - she insisted I put her name in my review :-) ) went to the new Bennigan's in Clarksburg for the first time. I was surprised at how crowded it was so early in the evening. We sat at one of the small bar tables in the bar area and had some appetizers (chicken tenders, monte cristo sammies) as our dinner. The food was great and the things we saw coming out of the kitchen like the HUGE burgers and the large portion of fish and chips had us figuring out how soon we culd get back here! The appetizers a couple at the table next to us ordered (the Claire sampler) looked fantastic and they said it was great. Frankie Kinney is one of the bartenders and he waits tables in the bar area too - ask for him if you go in. He was fun to talk to and knew the menu. I also heard that they have live bands on Friday nights out on their patio and they have those listed for upcoming Friday nights on all the bar tables which I thought was very smart. Pros: the food - I ate my leftovers in small portions so I wouldn't finish too quickly! I cannot wait to go back again. Good portion size. Cons: it's too bad the restaurant isn't bigger. I can really see this as being the "in" place to go in Clarksburg because they cater to all groups (singles, families, older, younger, etc.). All the TV's in the bar area will make this a very popular place for football games. Service - I've heard alot of people take issue with the service being slow - we were there for 2 hours and I have to admit if we sat at a table we would have been served faster because there was plenty of waitstaff for the tables but only 2 bartenders to serve the entire bar and the bar table area. So - if you're starving or just want faster service sit at a table and not in the bar. I was looking to hang out for a while and sitting in the bar area was more fun for me.

The only thing positive i can say is that it is clean. There is no difference between this iteration and the old strip mall spots. It was so cold in the place I had to keep my coat on. The waitress had no interpersonal skills. I hate it when you ask me if I want change. Tell me you'll be back with change and if I volunteer that I don't need it then you have your answer without looking like a lout.

We ate lunch there on a Thursday. Even though It wasn't very crowded when we got there, the service was pretty slow. I ordered a burger with BBQ and grilled onions, yummy, but they added bacon by mistake. At the table next to us, they added cheese to a burger by mistake. Even though they got some orders wrong, the burger was one of the best for me. I just removed the bacon and enjoyed the burger. I'll definitely go back. Some recommendations for the restaurant managers: - Have the wait staff be more attentive and a bit faster to check back with the customer. - Train them to bring refills automatically when they see an empty glass and customers are still eating. - Train them to bring extra napkins when they serve a meal. Also, I was disappointed that they didn't list calories on their menu. I thought that was a Montgomery County, MD law. Hopefully, they'll add it.

Well, what can I say. I used to work at the Bennigan's in Rockville years ago so I was extremely happy to see one open up again. Especially near where I live. Having said that, my expectations were with high hopes. My fiance' and I came here a week after it opened and myself went w/ a friend on NYE. Here were my experiences on both occasions: First occasion. Everyone was very friendly and we were seated promptly as there was no wait. The waiter, very polite and helpful, took our drink order and food order. Our drinks were brought back promptly and we waited for our appetizer. We ordered the SW Egg rolls (a favorite of mine) alongside w/ some nachos. After 15 minutes of our apps not out we asked the waiter what the hold up may have been. He politely let us know that the kitchen is still trying to get to know a lot of food items. So we waited. 35 mins later our appetizers finally arrived. Of course by now, we were short tempered and our experience was not as happy. Regardless we ate our food. My fiance ordered the Monte Cristo, which was fabulous, and I ordered the Turkey O' Toole, also delish. But the truth, is that we left there not satisfied at all Second occasion. My best friend and I went there for lunch on NYE. This time we sat at the bar. We were in no rush at all, so we were just chatting it up at the bar. We ordered some of the SW Egg rolls to share, while we figured out what we wanted to eat, again in no rush. This time they came out promptly. But the issue this time was that the ramekin containing the pine-apple sauce (that MAKES the egg rolls taste good) seemed to only have enough sauce for just one egg roll. We asked the bartender if we could please have some more. She said, "of course"! So, we ordered our food and just kept chatting it up. About 10 mins went by, so we asked again the bartender for the sauce (not sure if she had forgotten or not), but since we were not in a rush it really didn't matter. She let us know that "it's on the way". About another 10 mins later our food arrived, but still no sauce. She then informed us that they were OUT of the sauce. My question was (of course to myself and friend) how was it on the way if they were out?? This was the only hick-up we encountered. Sometimes, it's the little things that make a great restaurant succeed and the experience the best. I still have high hopes, and I know that this is still a new restaurant so I haven't given up on it yet. I enjoy their food and it brings back fun memories of me working there (I worked there for about 3 years). Please continue to improve and I'm sure I'll see you again soon.

I ate here with my extended family 3 weeks after they opene. A few of the kids working there are former students at my brother in law's school so we got very friendly service. The chicken was under-cooked and made me sick almost immediately after dinner - same as 2 otehr people at the table. (7 total in our group) The service staff appeared to be inexperienced. I'd go back in a few months to see if they get their stuff together if they haven't closed by then.

I was a frequent visitor of the Rockville location, so, I, among others, I'm sure, was extremely excited for the opening of the Clarksburg location. I've decided to write this review after our 3rd visit, in hopes that someone in charge is reading this, and I hope it helps get things fixed. Our 1st visit was right before Christmas on a Saturday. This was soon after opening, so I knew there would be a wait, but me and my family ended up waiting a little over an hour, and the multiple employees working at the host station seemed very confused, and some people with parties of similar size got seated before us. In fact, it wasn't until another customer who had seen us come in decided to say something that we finally got seated. However on that first occasion, when we did sit, the food was great, and our server, Kim, was great with our two young kids. The owner actually came and visited as well, which made us fell much better about the rough start. We visited a 2nd time in February. This was a little smoother, although again the employees up front really seemed to not know what they were doing. It was kid's night, so there was a man giving out balloons, which our older son enjoyed. I always order the Monte Cristo with fried, however on this night, I ordered the mashed potatoes, and I was highly disappointed, the potatoes had very little taste, and were extremely undercooked. However, one pleasant surprise was that Kim, the server from our first visit, noticed our son and came over to say hi, though she wasn't our server that evening, which was very nice. Yesterday(Sunday May 12th) was our 3rd visit, and it was for Mother's Day AND our son's birthday, but once AGAIN was VERY disappointing. We didn't have a long wait at all, which was great, BUT when we were seated, we were missing silverware, AND had no menus, for us or for our son. And then, we waited so long for a server, that my wife took HERSELF to the host stand to get some. When our server, whose name I think was Kizon, did arrive, he was very pleasant and talkative with our son. After our order was taken, he returned to inform my wife that they were out of turkey, so she could not get the turkey wraps she had ordered, so she decided on the shrimp pasta instead. But for some reason, said pasta took so long to make, that my son has halfway thru HIS dinner by the time she could eat, and my food was cold, as I did not want to eat without her on Mother's Day. The most disheartening moment came when they decided to do a surprise for our son, and bring him out a birthday ice cream/brownie concoction and do a little singing hooplah for him. This would have all been nice, except for that when our server came out of the kitchen with the dessert, he stood at the host stand with the hostess and other servers and begged and pleaded with them to come along and sing for our now 4-year old, and I watched as EVERY SINGLE ONE tried to refuse to do it. I sat and watched them argue, and I became very upset, and I started to get out of my chair and say something, but I think they saw me, because they finally decided to play along. I really like the food at this restaurant, I always have, and when I discovered this location was opening, I became very excited and informed ALL my friends who used to frequent the old Rockville location with me. However, so far the experience has not been the same, and I sincerely hope somebody fixes something, otherwise I won't be able to come back.

Loved it here and had such a great dining experience, thank you Bennigan's! I might be a little biased and got a little nostalgic since I used to work at the Bennigan's in Laurel. We happened to stumble on this location on Valentine's Day....my husband and I were doing a final walkthrough of our new home and realized that the restaurant was only 10 mins away and just opened up this year....what?! We HAD to go out and celebrate here. And I'm soooo glad we did! We got there at the beginning of the dinner rush and were greeted by two friendly hostesses. Our waitress was awesome...attentive, polite, and friendly. All our food came out in a timely manner and service was awesome. One of the employees went around the restaurant giving all the ladies flowers and a woman (owner or manager, I think) came around giving heart-shaped candy to every table. Everything created such a warm and friendly environment that will definitely have me coming back again. We had the SW eggrolls (called something else now) with the pineapple pepper cream sauce (still awesome) and broccoli bites (still the same...awesome!). My husband had a new item on the menul (Chipotle Burger), he said it was good. I had the Turkey O'Toole...which completely brought me back to my old days since I probably ate that for lunch every day for a year :). They're honey dijon dressing is just as amazing as it was 10 years ago. My only complaint....I WISH that they would bring back the apple sizzler. That was my absolute favorite dessert and was kind of sad to see it gone. :) We will definitely be back, can't wait stil the summer time and check out the outdoor seating. Thanks Bennigan's for bringing back so many wonderful memories!

Not really worth the time or money. Everything is too greasy and the wait staff is horribly slow. It took at least 20 minutes to get our check and the just about as long to pay. Not somewhere I will be going back to.

Glad Clarksburg finally has a place to hang out. Last time I was for lunch and I sat at the bar with a friend. I agree with some of the reviews with the bar-tending...it's as if they have never tended bar before. They can't pour a beer thats certain. I asked for a bass and was given something else, had to repeat myself a few times. Food we ordered was excellent. I will continue to go since I live across the street. Also it's new and will improve overall operations in time.

The only reason it gets 3 stars is because of the sentimental value that I apply to the Bennigan's that was in Rockville. The service at the Bennigan's in Clarksburg was terrible! Not because my server was bad but because she had too many tables. They gave me my steak which was over-cooked with no steak knife and forgot my salad. Overall my friends said the food was pretty good and we'd all go back but sit at the bar where we're always in eye sight of someone. Not saying much but probably the best place to sit down with friends in Clarksburg...since it's the only place.

Pretty good restaurant as far as food and atmosphere. Service is OK but I didn't like when my mom ordered a salad and she told them twice of exactly what she wanted.

At last! Clarksburg's first sit down restaurant! The food tasted fresh, and the service was excellent. Five stars to keep up the good work, and keep the good food coming. And did I mention that we were there 3 minutes after it officially opened? We'll be coming back for sure.

My friend and I went last night for dinner and a drink. I have never been to a Bennigan's before and it was a great experience! Our server was Kim...she was fantastic! Very attentive and friendly! Our food came out in a timely fashion and everything was as ordered. Kids eat free Tuesday's so I think we will be back next week!

We want to make sure that the recipes specified by Bennigan's for our menu are followed correctly and served at the proper temperature. I apologize for what happened during your last visit to Bennigan's Clarksburg. You are a valued guest and you deserve excellent service and a satisfying dining experience. I do hope we can earn your trust again. If you would be so kind as to send me your mailing address, I would like to offer to send you a $30.00 gift card for another visit. Sincerely, Bette Buffington Bennigan's Clarksburg 301-540-1499

I haven't been in 6 years. They closed the one near me. So I drove out to here. Great food and service.
