If you want to enjoy a Jackson Hole tradition, along with a great breakfast, get to Nora's. Be prepared to wait a little and watch for a seat at the bar. You will recommend Nora's to all of your friends.

Nora's came recommended by my wife's uncle, and was also featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. My wife and I both had the Huevos Rancheros which were DELICIOUS!!!! Coming from Texas, I thought that we had some really great Huevos Rancheros. But I have to say, Nora's was the best thing I have ever eaten....at least in terms of Huevos Rancheros! One of our children had some scrambled eggs, hash browns, and bacon. The plate was HUGE!!! Our other child had an omelette which was just as big. The prices were very reasonable on all of our dishes. Noreen and Jayce (sp?) were absolutely wonderful to have as waitresses! They were personable, very attentive to our needs, and more than accommodating. Not sure when we'll be back to the Jackson, Wyoming area. But when we do, Nora's will again be on our MUST DO list!!!

The worst service and the worst food I have ever had! I use yelp all the time to find good places to eat. Rarely do I feel the need to write about my experience because they have NEVER been this disappointing. I ordered the egg white omelet with basil and tomatoes. At first I thought the tomatoes were canned because they tasted funny but after having my mom try one she spit it out and said they were sour. We expressed our concerns to the waitress and she had the audacity to say that during this time of year it's hard to get fresh produce. I'm pretty sure I bought tomatoes at Albertsons yesterday that tasted fine. The toast was not toasted it was soggy with butter and the one bite of hash browns I had I spit out immediately. They were cooked in old oil probably when they opened at 6am. If the waitress hadn't have given me such a horrible excuse for the rotten tomatoes and maybe offered to take the ROTTEN off our bill I probably wouldn't be writing this, but that $8 was more important to her than customer satisfaction so here's my first review on the most disgusting breakfast I've ever paid for. Another reminder, even though they say they do poached eggs before 9am, they don't! She told us that they don't do poached eggs with the huevos rancheros even though the menu says "any style" and it was only 8:30am! This place was beyond horrible.

The perfect breakfast. The interior was very homey, with wood decor like in a cabin, with seating at the bar or at tables. The waitress was great and super attentive The food: -Coffee was good -Reuben sandwich was one of the best my buddy and I ever had. The Bread was perfectly buttered and toasted, there was the perfect amount of corned beef and Swiss cheese and the Russian dressing was delicious......It came with a side of large home made fries dressed with rosemary and perfectly baked -The chicken fried steak was delicious, the gravy on top was delicious....came with side of mash potatoes dressed in the same delicious gravy -Both dishes came with a good salad with very good dressing -Peach cobbler was a bit tart for my taste, but was served hot and fresh This is a must stop if you are in Wyoming

Any place that makes it on Tripple D has to be good and it was . This is a must for breakfast. Great banana bread French toast. The breakfast burrito was good and huge. Everything we had was good. Will be eating here on every visit to the area.

Four stars for the menu that is totally the real deal ,,nothing unrecognizable. Down to earth service that is hard to find in the Jackson area, All of the food I ordered was excellent ( halibut special and house salad ) It was a little weird that we walked in to a nearly empty restaurant and were seated at the bar because we didn't have a reservation, There were still plenty of empty tables when we left...go figure ..,

Service is non existent. Took us forever to have our order taken and had to get up and find coffee and water for ourselves. Only one waitress for the entire room and one busser for restaurants. Awful awful service.

  • David D.

A ridiculous experience. Absolutely awfully operated. Slowest service ever. We had to find our own table. Nobody gave us menus for a while. We got our orders take after sitting for 20 minutes. Good arrived 20 minutes later. I mean, an hour before we even got food. So overrated. Do not come here.

Decent breakfast but really nothing special about this local restaurant. The wait for a table is much too long for just ordinary breakfast food. Not sure why it is so popular but it's not because of the food,

We had breakfast here this morning. Food was okay. Here's the kicker, I thought I left my sunglasses on the table and called the restaurant at 10:50am on Monday August 10 to ask if perhaps they had them. A man answered the phone, said they had a whole basket of sunglasses and I can come and look. Then without another word, he hung up. So I called back. The same man answered the phone and I said - you just hung up on me, may I speak to the manager? He said he was the OWNER. I asked if he could look for a particular brand to see if it was worth the trip to turn around and travel back to The restaurant. We are traveling in a 42 foot motor home with a 23 foot auto trailer. The OWNER told me he was too busy to look and that I shouldn't have been "so stupid" to leave my sunglasses. Then he hung up on me again. Seriously....

Although it doesn't indicate that they are open for dinner, last night's dinner was fabulous! Had the blackened trout. Daughter had the cesar salad with smoked trout which was top notch!

One star for the food, no stars for the service. No one would seat us, so we went to the bar. The waitress never came to us to give us menus. Another waitress gave us menus (after 7 minutes sitting at the bar and asking her for one) and 3 seconds into getting them....she asked if we were ready to order! After receiving the food, she bolted and never asked if we needed anything! So we sat there with no silverware or napkins until flagging her down and asking for them. The breakfast burrito was good! Thank you chef! Staff needs some help and/or re-training.

Had prime rib dinners for two. My friend got the 8oz and I got the 12oz. May 12, 2015. About 25% of my friend's was FAT. I was surprised to see a big ole' bone in my 12oz. cut. (Never seen a bone served in a prime rib cut in my entire 45 yrs of dining) The bone alone probably weighed 3oz. So I really didn't get anymore prime rib than my friend in the long run, but I had to pay $28 for that cut and I was disappointed. The other cut was $25 for a measly 8oz. The taste was very good. Mashed potatoes and cold dinner bread was served with the meal. No salad. At Texas Road house you can get a 12oz cut for $19.49 WITH NO BONE! and it's just as good. Guess I'll stick with Texas Roadhouse from now on. I don't know how this place made it on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives???

worst dinner experience in Teton County ever. Steak overcooked. waiter apologized but made no effort to correct. entrees bought out at three different times. sides to steaks (spinach and mac + cheese) brought out well before salads even thus cold by time steaks inbound. really awful experience and should have knows as when we arrived nobody was there -- zero guests! Anyhow breakfasts much better. For now avoid this overpriced low quality food / service trap like the plague!

  • Niki M.

Horrible service. Waitress barely at our table and kept saying she was slammed. Really? Sunday brunch and you don't expect to be busy? Hostess/assumed manager was rude to customers. Strange way of seating those who want a table, "just stand in line". Have you every heard of a piece of paper and a pen? Food was fair. Coffee tasted like bad gas station blend. You can find way better experience and food at most other restaurants in Jackson. Skip the madness and get a bagel and latte next door at pearl street bagel.

Breakfast at Nora's is a classic- just had the Huevos Rancheros with bacon and it was incredible. I highly recommend it

  • Sen S.

The service was attentive and quick, but friendly. The coffee was great and there is every kind of sweetener and milk at each table. I had the chili omelet with hash browns and a biscuit and everything was great. They also offer 4 kinds of juices as well.

Really bad experience today. 1.5 hr wait for a party of 6. After that another hour waiting for food and it arrived very cold!! We were there for breakfast - on a MONDAY! The worst experience I have had in a long time!! I won't be going back - I assure you!

Nora's is a James Beard Award winner for their breakfast. So when did I show up? On a weekend for dinner. Why not? Breakfast was free at the hotel I was staying at. Yelp reviews had good things to say about their dinner. Dinner is only served on weekends. Since we arrived in Jackson on a Sunday night, we only had one chance to eat dinner there. We arrived at about 7PM. The restaurant was half full. We were quickly seated. Our waitress, who is from England, was nice. I ordered the prime rib. My wife was stuck between the Grilled Idaho Red Rainbow Trout, and the Linguine with smoked red trout. She was leaning toward the Grilled Idaho red rainbow trout. The waitress assured her that the trout would be boneless and convinced her to go with it. The daughter ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Dinner was cooked and served quickly. The prime rib was very good. It was very tender. It was seasoned very well. I liked it. My wife ate her grilled trout. But, she didn't think it was that good. The grilled cheese sandwich was gobbled up by the daughter. I have no complaints about the service here. They greeted us. Our food was served quickly. The manager of the place came and spoke at length with us. All the employees seemed to be friendly. Dinner was a little expensive. But, I quickly found out that everything in this area was quite expensive. I liked Nora's. The food was good. Server was friendly. I'd go back if I was in the area.

Tried this place and am glad I went. Warning: this is NOT for the health nut, the foodie or brunch crowd. This place is for those that wAnt a hearty, well cooked breakfast before heading out for a day of work or fun. My over easy eggs were cooked to perfection and my bacon was excellent. The potatoes had great flavor, but I wish were a bit crispier. I also wish there was more fruit offered. I can totally see how this place satisfies the sports enthusiasts before they heAd out for a day of fun. Definitely go here for a hearty meal.

  • Tyson S.

This place is awesome. It is one of those places that I think about the food and wish I lived closer so that I could go there for their breakfast. I love the huevos and the breakfast burrito. A lot of people tell me to try the banana bread French toast but I don't want to not be able to have the green sauce that is the best I have ever had. I wish they would bottle it because I live a long way from Wilson, Wy. and only get there a few times a year. The staff is great too. The place is always busy but they get the food out quickly. If you are ever in Jackson, the short drive to Wilson is definitely worth it.

Stopped on our way home to Colorado and it was pretty early. Like many reviews only one gal doing the work of three. Pretty sure there was someone in the kitchen and that is it. Locals at the counter but all tables empty. Dark so hard to see the menu. All tasted good but we were in for a rough drive since the sausage my Husband ordered "tasted funny" and it didn't improve all day.....

Hadn't been in 10+ years. Had memories of excellent fish and boy was my memory correct. I had some delicious trout (after a very nice salad). sat at the bar, enjoyed the banter between servers, bartenders and the diners. spectacularly great dessert -- multi berry crumble! yum! if you like trout, they serve it at least three ways. yum!

    (4)
  • John O.

Breakfast here was a treat. The place is called Fish Creek and they deliver w/ delicious Trout and Eggs plate for breakfast. The trout is simply cooked and served w/ lemon, eggs to order and side of hash browns. It doesn't get any more satisfying. Also, the homemade cinnamon roll was amazing.

  • Akhil K.

Huevos Rancheros. Other yelpers rave about it. They are abso-frigging-lutely right! For $8.50 you get a two perfectly cooked over easy eggs on tasty refried beans, on a fresh tortilla, all covered with an amazing green salsa and bubbly, fresh from oven cheese. Seriously. If you're in the area, don't even think twice - go here for breakfast! 5th star missing because their biscuits and gravy were good - not near the greatness of their Rancheros... but only good. And one great dish a 5 star restaurant does not make... :D

  • Kenneth R.

I agree with The reviews claiming rude staff. I own a business and that attitude comes from the Owner/Management. I don't care how good the food is, I don't want me and my guests to be treated that way. Sorry that we took suggestion Guy. I'm the future I'll check with Yelp

Waitress was super rude and couldn't really care to serve us (to the point of snubbing us to our face) last week at lunch on Labor Day. Food was three stars with decent trout and eggs and hearty huervos rancheros.

  • Chad G.

I went here the other night for the first time. All I heard about since moving to Jackson was how great Noras is. The place wasn't that empty which means the service should have been fairly decent. I sat at the bar because I was by myself and I kept thinking to myself "who do I have to blow to get a drink around here?" Granted we all have bad nights so I won't judge the place strictly on that. Once the food came out it was good as it should be for what it costs.

The food is great. We Had the Huevos Rancheros, blueberry pancakes, and an egg white omelet - all fantastic. The sausage was amazing. Highly recommend, but need a good along hike afterwards! :)

3 words: ORDER THE HUEVOS!!!! Seriously. These are the best Huevos Rancheros on earth. I eat here all the time, but I honestly can't even comment on anything else on the menu because all I ever order are the Huevos because they are SO good. They aren't prepared completely traditionally. They use their homemade green chili salsa instead of ranchero sauce. But that's what makes the dish soooo dang good. You WILL most likely wait in line to get in. The restaurant WILL be busy. And you may be inclined to complain about the service as a result. Don't do it. Just wait to be seated. Order the huevos. And enjoy one of the greatest experiences that will ever happen to your mouth.

I am going to recommend what my wife got here because it was a lot more exciting than what I ordered. For the record, I got the country fried steak and eggs. They were totally fine, but they paled in comparison to what my wife got...the Huevos Rancheros!!! Yes, those same Huevos Rancheros that all those other reviews about this place keep referring to. I typically don't like to order the same thing as my wife so I can have a little variety. But if we ever go back to this place, I am going to get my OWN plate of Huevos Rancheros all for myself.

Wow. This was a great find. While the building may not inspire you to stop, we gambled and were pleasantly surprised. They do serve breakfast, that we heard was good, they get quite a crowd for their higher-end dinner. Steaks and trout seemed to be the more popular dinner items, so we went along. While the prime rib was a little fattier than I usually see (about one-third was thick fat), it was cooked nicely. The trout was delicious, too. The service was attentive and professional. There were several nice wines on the list, too.

We were looking for a good place to eat breakfast and asked the folks at the front desk where to go. They told us this was the place for breakfast, but don't waste your time for lunch or dinner. They recommended the trout and eggs. I had heard of this combination before and decided to try it. I ordered the trout & eggs, hash browns, and biscuit with gravy. The Trout & eggs were fantastic!!! The hash browns were a large portion and tasty after adding a touch of salt. The biscuits and gravy were good but a touch on the salty side. The service was decent. We had to request refill on coffee twice to get one refill. The food was a great value for the price. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast. And I highly recommend the trout & eggs!!!

  • Ryan M.

I like the local feel of this place but the service was not good. The waitress forgot to put in our order so all the tables around us got their food before ours. When we finally got our breakfast 30 minutes later they also forgot the sausage on my wife's plate. They cooked it and brought it out 10 minutes later but didn't take it off the ticket. The food is decent but service is lacking.

Stopped in here on way out of Jackson Hole for breakfast. I had read great reviews but wasn't all that impressed with the food. It was good but not great. I would say that the service here was excellent - super friendly and right on top if everything! I would have liked to try the trout and eggs but wasn't hungry enough for the serving size - maybe it's worth a second try.

The *Best* Country Fried Steak in the West! My wife and I discovered this hidden gem during our honeymoon in Jackson Hole. As a naive California boy, I made the mistake of saying I wanted rice pilaf with my country fried steak, and the waitress sassily teased me, "Rice pilaf?? Honey, get the mashed potatoes. Country fried steak and mashed potatoes go together like peanut butter and jelly!" Needless to say I got the mashed potatoes! :D A trip to Jackson Hole is incomplete without Country Fried Steak at Nora's!

  • Rachel R.

HUEVOS RANCHEROS -- don't even look at the menu! Literally the most delish I've ever had. The boyfriend and I also got their banana bread french toast, which was very good, but if I ever make it back, we'll both be ordering the huevos. I can't even describe how f**king amazing it is!!! Stopped on our way from Tetons to Denver...would drive another 9 hours just to eat there again. I kid not.

We were looking for a place to eat lunch coming back from Idaho into Jackson, WY and decided to try Nora's. We arrived just before the breakfast to lunch menu turnover, so we had to wait 10 minutes to order - except for the huevos rancheros that are available at breakfast and lunch. I decided to give the huevos rancheros a try - best ever! The tacos also got raves. Very friendly staff, nice rustic decor, great place to stop if you're on that side of town.

A basic, good, unpretentious diner-style breakfast. Away from all the tourist attractions of Jackson. Definitely recommended.

This is a great ace for breakfast especially the h'uevo rancheros with chorizo. Be prepared to wait a little while but the food will be worth it.

Great spot for lunch near Jackson. I had a special - one tamale & one chile relleno - and it was spectacular. My husband ate and loved the chicken fried steak. The 10yo was amused that her can of Coke came with an ice-filled Pepsi cup. And it's wonderful inside - a big log cabin, with mix & match tables, and lots of stained glass light fixtures.

Great huevos rancheros and burrito. Pancakes were awesome too. Also to those that say they waited forever we showed up on a Friday at 10am and sat immediately. Great service and coffee!!!

Stop before you start. We arrived because we read the food was good... never got that far. We should have read more reviews. Service was awful and no one cared. We waited 20 minutes. 4 tables were available. We were brushed off by a waitress and the angry woman behind the bar. They may have been short staffed but they could have seated us. After 30 minutes, a final inquiry and a rude response from the bar woman, we departed. Happy ending though... we found a restaurant in Jackson with nice caring people and good food. Side note: while reliving the experience at Nora's two tables near us inquired. We got them to say "well I guess we won't be going there". Way to go Nora-people!

The huevos rancheros are utterly amazing. They are definitely enough to keep coming back! It's a fun, relaxed, local atmosphere with solid food. The waitstaff is nice, the service is reliable and the ambience is down-home and Western. But the greatest reason to come - HUEVOS!

We found this restaurant on yelp and, based on the great reviews, we went there for breakfast on our way to Jackson. So glad we stopped in! We all had great meals and fast, friendly service. It definitely had a locals vibe to it, but we still felt welcomed. Great pancakes and huevos rancheros!

I never would've thought one of best huevos rancheros I would eat in my life would be in Wilson, WY. No lie: The huevos rancheros here are EXCELLENT. It so happened I was browsing through the James Beard site when I noticed that Nora's Fish Creek Inn was awarded the distinction of being an American Classic (2012). When I knew I'd be driving up from Salt Lake City to meet friends in Jackson, WY, this seemed like a no brainer. The menu is American fare, comfort food, trout and steak, and a little Mexican. You won't miss this place. It's the log cabin with the tons of cars packed into its small parking lot. Service is slow (it's busy) and friendly. Judging the reactions of others in this place, you can't go wrong with any order. But if you're evening THINKING about the huevos rancheros ... There is no compelling reason not to come here. In fact, there are many reasons to come here. If you're passing this way, this likely is your best - by far the best - dining option and man, it's a pretty darn good one. Thank you, Nora!

As a huevos rancheros lover and maybe connoisseur, I have to object to all the huevos love here. Mine had about a half a pound of cheese. It was a plate of melted cheese with some eggs and beans and salsa mixed in and somewhere underneath. Mozzarella cheese, I might add, which is wrong for so many reasons. Maybe the cook just went a little nuts on mine, but if you don't want to cheese to be the primary feature of your huevos, you might say "easy on the cheese" when you order.

We stopped in for an evening meal and had a pleasant dining experience. The food was well prepared and the service friendly. As several people were arriving, service slowed a bit while the staff brought drinks and took orders. The rustic decor seemed appropriate for the area and provided a nice atmosphere for dining. Portions were reasonable and well prepared.

Well, the food could be good, had it been hot and the service been nicer. There was a long line, which I don't mind, it means the restaurant is good, right? The hostess was anything but gracious and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out that the four of us were one party, even though we told her twice. She told us to go sit in the corner - should have been my first clue. It took 7 minutes to even have the waitress acknowledge us and bring us menus. I can see they are busy, and I am okay with that. I respect waitstaff, you already have my respect, but you easily lose it when we don't even notice we are there and act like we are an inconvenience. She was clearly put out by our presence, like she had something better to do. We watched a table of 7, and a table of 2, arrive after us, order after us, and get served before us, a table of 4. When the meal finally arrived, it was clear it had been sitting for a while. We couldn't afford to wait another 40 minutes, but my father-in-law, when she asked, said the food was cold. She appeared shocked, and then snapped, "Do you want me to warm it up??" How do you warm up breakfast? Serve it hot, or offer a new plate. We tried to be gracious to her, recognizing that it was busy, but she didn't care. This, to me, is a cardinal sin of waitstaff. As I mentioned, I am sympathetic, but at least don't act like we are the problem. The food could have been good, but I don't like being treated this way when I am not rude about the wait and just want a good meal. The biscuits were cold and doughy, the gravy had already developed a film on the top from sitting so long, and there was very little sausage in the "sausage" biscuits and gravy. The hashbrowns were clearly frozen. You might as well go to one of many lovely coffee-houses in the area, because I'm not sure Nora's cares about the customer's experience.

Huevos rancheros amazing with their own special green chile salsa, chocolate chip/ blueberry pancakes from scratch all yummy! Very rustic small town diner/quaint.

  • Thad B.

This is a real locals place, complete with crusty cowboys on bar stools and regulars heading to their usual tables. Everyone tells you to be sure to go to Nora's for breakfast. But really, it's just breakfast. In fact, the scrambled eggs were overcooked and the hash browns bland and under-seasoned. Everything else was fine--bacon, coffee and biscuits. So if you really want to have breakfast out, go for the atmosphere and keep your expectations low. And maybe ask for your eggs over easy.

Yelp reviews hyped this place up, and it delivered. Huevos rancheros rocks. Pancakes oh so airy. Breakfast trout was tasty. This is a popular place with the locals and tourists. Almost fully packed when we were there; two super efficient waitresses were taking care of everyone and everything, and they never missed a beat! Highly recommended if you are in Jackson / Teton Village area.

Last night of a week of vacation in Jackson and went to Nora's for dinner. It was Sunday night and Prime Rib was one of the specials. It was EXCELLENT. BIG and JUICY! The salmon and spaghetti/meatballs dishes were also delicious. They use bucatini for the pasta which gave the dish a unique texture and appearance. I recommend Nora's as must in JH.

Homey, cozy cabin of good food. This last time a large party had just vacated their table, I saw lots of uneaten blueberry pancakes. The looked so tasty, light, and fluffy, I couldn't imagine not licking the plate clean, so I woder what was up with that. I may never know because.... My favorite breakfast is the Huevos Rancheros--most definitely the best I've ever had, and I expected to go south to get them, not north. There's always a crowd, but so far (knock on wood logs) never a wait. Waitresses are good and friendly, the bathrooms are clean. Can't wait to go back, but it's hard to get me to order anything but my favorite!

Take the time to drive the 5 miles to Wilson if you are staying in Jackson Hole. Nora's serves the best food in the area with fantastic meat and fish dishes. This wonderful unpretentious place had a great Ceasar salad with some grilled steak perfectly cooked. The prime rib was excellant and a good deal since the price included soup or salad. Wilson has a population of 200 and it looked like a larger percentage of the town was there the weekday night we went to dinner.

I had the huevos ranchers, which was a plate-sized tortilla, a small portion of beans, two eggs, and covered with a cheesy green chili. Yes, it was the one of the best versions I've ever had! Just one tip: if you want meat (chorizo, bacon, ham) on it, it's an additional charge. We weren't told that it was not included; the waitress just rattled off meat options immediately after I said "huevos rancheros", making it seem like it was included in the price. Nothing excessive, but I just wanted to mention it if you, like me, don't like even small surprises on your bill. ;)

  • Sarah D.

The service was good, can't complain about that...but the food I ordered was terrible...it was something so simple as eggs over easy, sausage, hash browns and toast, my entire plate of food was cold an tasted like it was sitting out for a while. It wasn't anything to rave about , I don't understand how a restaurant can mess up on an order so simple...I heard their more extravagant dishes are good, so don't try anything simple...chances are it will taste like crap

The best breakfast in the Jackson area. Where else can you get trout and eggs for $12.00? And the pancakes are wonderful! We've had some marginal service unfortunately; but the food has always been great. Also, the old log building makes for authentic 'old west' atmosphere.

Local diner in Wilson. Wilson is the Girdwood of Jackson. Rustic old timey cabin. Good location at the base of the pass. Decent breakfast. Coffee average. Wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, and it was off season. I don't think they expected the crowd. However, we did get in and out in an hour.

This was the most unorganized place I have ever seen. We just waited in line at the door until some came, then we were seated. The food was really pretty plain and the pancakes were like lead! We ordered coffee cake that was the worst I have ever had. It was heavy and did not even have crumbs or anything sweet. This place was recommended by the staff at the hotel where we were staying. I would not ever recommend the place. .

Great food and large portions for the price, a little on the bland side. My husband and I love breakfast food and I would say for Jackson Hole area this is one of the best (and only) places to get a full breakfast ever, esp in the afternoon.

I live in Jackson and this is definitely what you would expect for a small town diner. The same waitress works at the bar every weekend, it's always packed, and there are plenty of gaudy western small town decorations to keep you occupied while you're waiting. I've only been there for breakfast. The huevos rancheros keep me coming back again and again! Although, I recently took some out-of-town friends there and I wouldn't recommend the country fried steak. Anything else is delicious though! You get plenty of food on your plate as well for a great low price, which is definitely not something I can say about most places in Jackson.

If you consider the cost of a meal here the restaurant deserves five stars. The food is extremely well prepared. Their dishes may not be as innovative as you would expect at a top restaurant, but what the serve is excellent. My advice would be to try the smoked trout appetizer. It is truly memorable. Their trout entrees are extremely good too. Overall, worth a side trip from either Jackson or Teton Village.

Wasn't too busy when we went on a weekday evening for dinner during peak Yellowstone/Grand Teton tourist season when everything else was booked up in Jackson, proper. Initially shocked at the prices for a single entree, and then realized we could split the dish for an extra 7 bucks, and get extra sides with it. Then it turns out to be a pretty good deal - soup or salad, plus the entree and sides for $15ish was quite reasonable for the interesting selections. My wife and I shared the jalapeno trout, and were impressed. My grandmother enjoyed the baby back ribs - the meat was tender and just about fell off the ribs. Waitstaff was friendly, as were the other patrons. Overall, worth revisiting to try some of the other dishes.

My 5 stars are for breakfast. Dinner 3 stars. The very best breakfast in the valley.

After waiting for half an hour at the table to get our order taken there's a lot to improve here on the service side. There's a line outside and there are four empty tables around us. Food looks great, -haven't taste it yet,- service is just not working.

I'm so glad I did my research, found out about this place, and drove the extra few minutes out of town to get to it. It's one hell of a breakfast! What a wonderful little hometown joint. But don't be fooled, everyone knows about it. It is absolutely packed! I'm not sure why the previous reviewer could not get breakfast. I came in on February 22 and had a great one. Forget the eggs and steak, go for the eggs and trout! Perfectly prepared, delicious and a great lean protein way to start the morning right and keep your motor going through the cold, cold day. And what could be better for a side than one of the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had in my life? The pancakes were slightly sour, plump, fluffy and filled to the gills with blueberries. No skimping here! You couldn't even find the pancake in the center due to the mess of blue gooey goodness! And all for a price tag of $12, with coffee. Not too bad when you take into account the amount of food and the greatness of fresh trout.

Best breakfast in the Jackson area...no question. Extremely affordable, yet the food and service is always great. I hate posting this b/c they are somewhat of a local secret, but I want them to have full seats. The MUST eat: huevos rancheros.

My husband and I came here twice during our week long trip simply because it was good, not expensive, and had a small-town feel. Try the Heuvos Rancheros or the Breakfast Burrito with the green chile. Trust me, order the green chile in place of red-you will not be disapointed! One of the locals told me the Chicken Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy was good too, but I just didn't want anything that rich. It looked damn good though. Eat here in the morning and you are satisfied until dinner!

A waiter in Jackosn Hole said we had to try this dinner and our way back to Idaho Falls. He recomended the huevos rancheros, I gave it a shot and ended up talking about it all the way back to California. Not sure about the other food, but this is a huevos rancheros is a must!

One of the best breakfast spots period! My guess is that lunch and dinner must be pretty darn good too taking into consideration how many locals eat there.

So delicious! We went for dinner and thank goodness we split the portions are big and you get lots of sides. We had the southwest trout coated in blue cormeal and some sort of yummy avocado sauce. It came with about a 1/4 roasted squash with the roasted seeds on top, mashed potatoes w/gravy and soup or salad. Everything was wonderful down to the bread pudding dessert with homemade caramel! If you find yourself in Jackson Hole, make your way just outside of town to Wilson and enjoy! (and if you're lucky enough to go on a sunday, stumble over to the Stagecoach afterwards for some music and dancing!)

Warning--Nora's is not fancy or pretentious--it just has tasty food. Do not go if you want to experience a new entree that a chef has just invented or if you expect a big plate with a tiny bit of food for which the "presentation" is important. You can expect a good-sized amount of old-fashioned American food. At dinner that means meat or fish (with one or two vegetarian entrees) including salad or soup, a vegetable and potatoes. Most breakfasts include bacon or sausage, hash browns, and a choice of toast, a big pancake, or biscuit and gravy. We've been going to Nora's for 10 years and we still choose it 7 times out of 10 when we go out for dinner. We also go every time any of our family comes to visit--for a dinner and at least one breakfast (warning--there may be 15-25 minute waits for a table at breakfast on weekends during the ski and summer seasons). Prime rib is great for dinner and is available in 3 thicknesses (we go no later than 7pm in case they might run out of it, which does happen). It is probably best known for its trout, but it also has good halibut. For breakfast, Nora's has the best trout & eggs (for $12) anywhere. It's been around "forever" and appeals to locals and visitors looking for good American food served in a very basic "old west" building (an old log cabin). If you want to look like you fit in at Nora's, wear jeans and a comfortable shirt. Dinner prices have risen over the past decade but are still reasonable compared to the "fancy" restaurants everywhere else in Jackson Hole. Breakfast servings are large and prices are still pretty low. . Nora's is NOT in the town of Jackson as the Yelp site indicates--it is located in Wilson at the foot of the Tetons, about 7 miles west of the town square in Jackson and 8 miles south (and a bit west) of Teton Village (the ski resort).

A real treat to get out of the very crowded Jackson Wy touristy stuff. Only a few miles from Jackson Hole, in the town of Wilson Wy. Great local flavor and delicious prime rib.

the pancakes at nora's are the best i have eaten in my 36 years on this planet. (i'm not counting the few i spent elsewhere) they were large, yet light and fluffy. they had an incomparable loft, with the thinest layer of crisp edge possible. they were not in the least bit heavy... full of air. and blueberries. (canned or frozen, but still...) this batter is something i will try to recreate for sure. i also ate the biscuits and gravy. good for certain, but by no means better than what you might find down South. i spent a long weekend in and around jackson - and i was a bit surprised by the lack of local hospitality, this is after all a region that survives solely because of its visitors. but here at nora's, i found the happiest and most helpful wait staff of my short visit. as others have said, get there early, like around 9 or so. and for heaven's sake, order you some 'cakes!

Sigh... I tried to go here for breakfast but they stopped serving breakfast on November 2nd. I still give them 4 stars because I peeked in the widow and the place looks great.

amazing. after the horrible experience at the bunnery, we asked around and all the locals said... nora's. uber rustic. and some of the largest and most delicious breakfasts i've ever ate. notice i pluralized breakfast. that's cause we went here multiple times. pancakes, biscuits, breakfast burritos, eggs, thick cut bacon... it was all great. this is wyoming soul food and it was absolutely delicious.

best breakfast that you will ever had... well at least one of the best... i have been going to Nora's since 1988 and have gotte the same thing... Huevos Rancheros with an extra tortilla... it is to die for... a wonderful way to start your day off... be it if you are skiing, climbing, or sleeping... they also have lunch and dinner but i prefer the breakie.... the ladies in there are a lill over worked so if they seem like the soup nazi... dont hold it aginst them... they are just busy and dont like to waste time

Even if you are only in the Jackson area for a few days, Nora's earns a repeat visit. I have only had the pleasure of breakfast here, and the bacon here is the best there is. Period. Also of note is the corned beef hash and local trout. They are very busy and the people watch is great.

Fantastic, tasty, local food. Stopped in for breakfast, and really enjoyed it. Granted, I had a pretty basic eggs/toast/hashbrowns meal, but it was still great. The bacon (extra crispy) was the best I've had in years. Only caveat: If you're stopping for breakfast, get in there early, or this place is jammed!

Great food for the price point, especially if you share an entree. For the extra $7, both ppl can have sides and there is plenty of food to go around. No skimping here! Great breakfast as well with large portions for $6! What a deal compared to other restaurants in the area. Nothing fancy, just Good quality food.
