I eat a lot of Chinese food, especially noodles. There is a type of Chinese spaghetti that is called zha jiang mian, I love it but it is really hard to find except in big cities. We'll I saw a picture of specials on the outside of the window at Wonderful House and saw something called Sichuan noodles. It looked pretty similar. I had it, I loved it, and I want the chef to move to Appleton, Wisconsin to open a restaurant! The also had some dishes that were variations on standard Chinese food. Sesame tofu (sesame chicken ) for example. There were also dishes I'd never seen before such ad cherry pork. If you are a meat eater, but would like to try a tofu dish give the ma po tofu(just tofu) or beef with bean curd (beef and tofu) a try. Thermopolis is lucky to have such a great restaurants.

Good Chinese restaurant! The place looked empty, but we were pleasantly surprised. Good food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. If you need a place to eat, this is the place to go!

Pretty standard fare. We had sweet and sour combo, which is batter fried shrimp, chicken and pork. This was really good. Kung pow combo, pretty mediocre, not very tasty. Egg flour soup from a can. And tea which was mainly water. All this in an old worn out diner downtown. I may be too generous with the Stars. Honestly I wouldn't go back.

Happy New Year! Hubby and I are chillin' in our booth, watching Kathie Lee Griffin and Anderson Cooper bring in the New Year in the tv. There are about three other parties here at the Wonderful House. The staff are still learning English and are extremely nice. We got a dinner for two and hubby added potstickers. I can't remember the name of the combo, but it was the last one on the list near the back of the menu. Our feast began with seemingly innocent amounts of potstickers, crab Rangoon, spare ribs, and foil chicken. The ribs and foil chicken were meh. The rest was fab. We finished all of the above, unaware of the size of the behemoth food mountains ahead. Then came the family-sized bowl of won-ton soup. A little salt and it was lovely. While we were doing back strokes through the soup, three bulldozers unloaded our entrees. :-). Seriously, the double happiness, veggies with seafood, and sweet and sour combo showed us their zoning permits and moved right in. We gorged ourselves until we cried uncle, and then our server promptly boxed everything up for us. Good thing our hotel has a fridge. With nothing open tomorrow, we will be set for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Yummy food, great service, casual room. Belly up to the trough, pard'ner!

Wonderfully reserved, efficient and courteous staff. We ordered the happy family meal for two, my significant other having decided on the meal had worried it wouldn't be enough food was wide-eyed with surprise as the bowls and plates just kept coming to the table. More food than she and I can eat in two meals let alone one. The wanton soup was not the usual floppy wide noodle in thin, bland broth. Bamboo shoot, zucchini and a score of other vibrant veg crowded each ladle until the last drop of bright savory broth was devoured. The barbecue pork fried rice was on par with any other I've had. The beef with snow peas truly packed tons of heavyweight flavors. Hints of oyster sauce, garlic with again tons of green on the overloaded server. Delicious. I despise the word yummy, however if the shoe fits; wear it.

Huge menu, nice folks, clean establishment. Food was average and plenty of it. Had two lunch specials that came with fried rice, soup, a filled wonton (careful for shellfish allergies as mine, crab in wonton), and entree. Enjoy!

I'm vegan, I was traveling with another vegan, and a vegetarian. We all had plenty to choose from on this menu, and we each ordered different things. They were all GREAT! I usually find Chinese food extremely bland, but this was zesty, zippy, and zingy! My two companions raved about their dishes, too. The server was a bit hard to understand, and I was afraid we weren't getting our meaning across, but the dishes came out just the way we wanted them, and they were fabulous. When it came time to leave, I needed a to-go container for my curry dish, and the server brought out a box. That wasn't going to keep the liquid from spilling out, but luckily I had a lidded container in the car. I brought that out and put my food in that. When the server saw that I had done that, then they offered a lidded container, but by then it was too late. No matter. We were there during their grand opening (or at least they still had that sign up on the front) so perhaps the server was new and didn't know you don't put liquids in a box. I can't wait to go back to Thermopolis and especially this restaurant. :)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
