Had the chicken fried steak. A real piece of meat, not those horrible preformed gristle patties that come out of a box. Thank you.

I love trying local stuff when I travel. Getting a taste of the places I go is as essential for me as buying a tee-shirt or commemorative stuffed jackalope is to others. Thus I was excited to try this local legend, touting down-home cooking and homemade pie. Mmm love me some PIE! The service was mumbley and non-committal, but I've worked in food service and thought maybe the guy had had a rough shift. No big deal. He took our orders and told us to take a trip to the salad bar. It was almost out of lettuce, and other ingredients were either gone or almost gone and nothing was fresh. Hmmph. We hunted and eventually found silverware to eat with. Not a very clean place. The entrées showed up eventually, and were not very good; frozen vegetables, dry turkey, under-seasoned mashed potatoes with over-salty obviously powdered gravy, over-cooked chicken fried steak that looked like a cheap frozen hamburger patty, fried in fish batter, with a dry baked potato. A dry, unseasoned baked potato. Who does that?! The pie had seen the inside of a refrigerator for far too long and tasted like it. And no amount of Redi-whip sprayed willy-nilly on top can cover that up. Yuck. The server couldn't be bothered to remove our dirty dishes, either. We ate dessert amongst the remains of our unpleasant entrées Extra star for the history and kitsch, but this is one legend that is resting firmly on its laurels and not trying to impress guests with product and service. Go to the brew pub down the street for that! They're concerned about what they sell.

Based on other reviews we thought this would be a nice home-style restaurant. The atmosphere was strange, everyone talked in hushed whispers, like they weren't really comfortable. The food was a big disappointment. My husband ordered the spicy fried chicken salad, didn't get any dressing so went to the small salad bar to get dressing (which he later said tasted off, like it had been left out too long) the salad had browned edge lettuce leaves which he picked out and showed to the waitress. She acted like "oh, well, sorry about that", so he asked to talk to the manager. The manager tried to get in our face when we asked if he would eat a salad like that and we thought some discount was appropriate. We got $5 off a $9 salad. Over all this was a big disappointment and there are other nice restaurants in town to eat at.

I came up to my family's ranch to help them move cattle its been awhile since I've been in the wrangler when I went in there and ordered a mushroom swiss burger with fries with a side of sour cream and the girl that waited on me was more interested in the boys at the table next to me. I ended up with a bacon cheeseburger from her that was drier than a piece of leather . She never came back to check on me she never came back to refill drinks it was probably the worst service I have ever had. It has went downhill, growing up in Pinedale it was the hot spot the place to go I don't know what happened to it but I know I won't be back and I am a local

Real home cooking here. Hand made burger patties, and French fries made fresh. Their mashed potatoes are made by hand, with chunks of potato in them. The roasted turkey are hand sliced. They have cherry, Apple, and rhubarb pies, all home made. Generous portions too.

Just the atmosphere is worth the trip, and the food was great and quickly served. Didn't see the non-smoking section to the left, which we generally prefer, but it wasn't smoky at all.

Great eggs Benny! The Hollandaise sauce is plentiful and good! Your coffee cup can never get half empty. The serving staff is great and there's lots of locals eating there. The portions are large, so come hungry!

Home cooking, small restaurant. Can tell locals eat here. Had ribeye very good and cooked properly. Not many choices in Pinedale. Recommend.

Meh...came here due to the great reviews. We shared a bacon cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks came with ranch, not marinara sauce??? However they were fresh, hot, and good!!! The burger was good. Nothing great, but freshly made. The fries were fresh cut, however not cooked enough for me. Service was great. I'll try something else next time we stop through.

Really gone down hill lately. Service is horrible. I suspect it's not the fault of the service staff as they try hard . Seems to be very poorly managed with not enough staff. Most of the time they are out of deserts. Not a big deal unless you brag about your pies which they do. Food is decent but costs too much for the quality and quantity you receive. Good for burgers and such, but that's about it.

We arrived here fairly late in the evening after driving in from Yellowstone. Casual diner-like atmosphere and friendly service. The menu is surprisingly pricey, but we had the Wrangler Burger and the small size serving of chicken fried steak dinner (included 4 oz serving of meat, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies and a trip to the salad bar) and both meals were in the $10 range and generous. We have been on a coconut cream pie kick on this road trip and had a piece here. It was some of the best we've had. Turns out a local lady comes in twice a week and bakes pies for the restaurant and today was pie day, so it was fresh. Very good. All in all, a decent and pleasant meal.

This is a decent place to eat. I had a burger and split pea soup. The burger was good the soup tasted a little pasty. The waitress seemed a little overwhelmed and the service was just OK.
