Coming into Newcastle, I was struck by the superb Jeffersonian style Weston Courthouse and going around the corner to park for a photo, there was Isabella's Pizza. I ordered a calzone with various meats and veggies. I was very good with the marina sauce inside rather than poured over the top. Some nice greens came with the calzone.

Read the reviews and saw good things so decided to go. We got seated right away, however it took at least 10min to be greeted and get drinks by someone who wasn't even our server. Service was SLOW. Gnocchi was good. We also ordered salads. The menu said we were supposed to get homemade bread with it. Not only did we not get any bread, but my salad was a puddle of dressing. I couldn't even finish it.

We came into town after a very long day of driving and super hungry. Pulling up there was outside entertainment and the gentleman singing was doing a wonderful job. People sitting outside dining and or drinking wine. The temperature was amazing outside. We sat inside as there was nowhere to sit outside. The menu looked good and I ordered Chicken Alfredo and my daughter Spaghetti and meatballs. When it came...that's where I was just disgusted with what was served. The Alfredo sauce was plopped on top of undercooked pasta (far from al denti). The chicken tasted salty bland and just all around weird. The sauce was separated and looked have been made hours ago at best! It also appeared curdled oddly. Nothing tastes good!! Three bites in... I was done! And my daughter spaghetti pasta was cooked fine but the sauce was sweet...so sweet she couldn't eat it. So we left exhausted and hungry and paid $21 for food we did not eat! It was obvious we didn't eat and the waitress didn't bother to ask why we didn't eat. The restaurant is in bad need of a remodel even though it appears it's been recently done. I could easily overlook that if the food could have been decent. But I will say the outside entertainment was good and if I wasn't still hungry and exhausted...I might have taken a seat (without a table since that was all that was available) and enjoy a glass of wine.

We stopped in at around 3:15 pm. My husband and I shared a chicken Parmesan sandwich that was very tasty. The pizza as well as the spaghetti looked awesome . Service was great. Only down side was my husband's coffee. I warned him based on the time of day it may not be fresh. Better ask first.

Got in right before it got crowded. Was a little worried about the wait based on reviews. We were in and out in about an hour. Food was fairly good, my daughter really liked her "build your own calzone". A little pricey and took quite awhile to get water refills.

Friendly staff and pretty darn good chicken noodle soup. They have a lovely outdoor seating area as well.

Yum! Just passing through town and decided to stop. Food was delicious! There was only one server on and I don't think she expected the lunch rush she received when a party of 8, a party of 4 and us, a party of 5 walked in. Plus she also had tables already sat. SHE WAS AWESOME! She handled it very professionally. I wish I could remember her name. Maybe she will remember asking us if we came in on a tour bus! Lol!

Tonight our family of four came for dinner at Isabella's. This was our second time at the restaurante over a two year period. Both times the service was incredibly slow! Excruciatingly slow! The food was good and the single waitress did all of the work seating, ordering, serving and checking out customers while four plus employees sang and talked loudly from the kitchen. If you dine here, plan lots of time!

I went in with one other person and we were seated immediately, though it took about ten minutes for someone to finally come over and take our order. By then we ordered our drinks, an appetizer, and a salad for each of us, because we had enough time to read the whole menu multiple times. The Gnocchi was delicious, though obviously frozen. And somehow a piece of chicken had strayed into the serving tray. It wasn't extremely bothersome, but I'm a vegetarian, so those things get to me just a bit. I got the Strawberry Spinach Salad and it was delicious, but it was drowning in the dressing. My friend got the Veggie Delite salad and hers was even more soggy than mine. You would have thought she got soup served to her on a plate by the time she got to the bottom of the salad. We also sadly did not receive our sides of homemade bread with our salad. The waitresses were extremely kind, but we only saw them when they sat us, when we ordered, when they brought our food, and when they brought the check. No water refills were given. :(

What a pleasant surprise! Cranberry Walnut and Mae's Spinach salads were excellent, and by splitting the small Vegetarian Lasagna, we had more than enough for lunch. Specialty desserts included Chocolate Raspberry Cake, Peanut Butter Delight, and a wide selection of ice cream, shakes, malts, floats and sundae's. I had the Turtle Sandae! Do not miss this fun restaurant located in old town Newcastle.

One of the better dining choices in Newcastle. They've got great food, and a fun atmosphere. Their pizzas are really exceptional. I've also had their spagetti and meatballs, which was superb. Its a nice place to dine without a doubt!

What a Gem!! This some of the best food and service I have had in a long while!! The spinach and strawberry salad was fantastic, and the pizza was great as well. The service was impeccable, she was polite and she was spot on with timing, my pizza came out as I was eating my last bite of salad. That is not typical for most places these days! This is a perfect little place to eat if you are in the vicinity!

My family split a pizza that looked and smelled fantastic. I had the spinach, strawberry, and pecan salad and it was great. Good service.

Surprisingly delicious sausage and artichoke pizza. However, the spinach salad and "ambiance" was lacking... Definitely with the stop if hungry for pizza.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
