It's not horrible. It's basically a bar that serves food, so not all of it is great, but some of it is really, really good.

So funny story... We were passing through on our way to Cheyenne for work and decided to stop in Laramie for dinner. We jumped on Yelp and chose a different spot... Which we ultimately couldn't locate. No worries though, we asked a couple of locals for a recommendation and they pointed us to Love joy. The food was pretty good, though the boyfriend definitely made the better choice with the beef medallions, then my choice of a burger sans the bun. The place had a very laid back and low key feel, which we dug, and we were soon on our way again. When we got to our hotel in Cheyenne, I made the heart sinking realization that I had left my purse with everything of value inside back at the restaurant. I immediately called the restaurant and they informed me that they didn't have any left behind purses. I was sick, and I literally cried myself to sleep that night. In the morning however, while I was going over the night again and again in my mind, I suddenly realized that I had called the wrong restaurant! I had called the restaurant we first intended on dinning at! I quickly called love joy and to my great relief they informed me that my purse had been recovered and would be safe until I came to get it. Any business that is that honest and full of honest employees deserves 5 stars.

We ate here on our college visit trip to tour the University of Wyoming. Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Easy parking and easy to find. If she ends up going to school here, this will be my hangout of choice!

Crappy service. We went to dinner last Monday, our server took our drinks and it took her almost ten minutes to pour a beer, she said she just forgot. There were only two tables... She also proceeded to take our food to the wrong table. Next time I'm craving a good burger I'll just go to the library..

I was passing through on my way home from vacation and had high hopes for this place. I wanted to get in my buffalo burger fix before leaving Wyoming and I was pleased to see that any of there burgers could be made from buffalo and the avocado fundido was very enticing. My husband has his heart set on a beautiful steak and tomato dish featured on the website but after scouring the menu and inquiring of the waitress what it was, it was very clear that it wasn't even a menu item. Just some pretty stock photography. Ummm. Having some pride in your own dishes and hiring a photographer to get some good shots of your own food to feature on your website seems kind of like a given for any reputable restaurant. That was not a good start but I brushed it off, ready to enjoy our feast. I ordered a bronco buffalo burger (swiss cheese and mushrooms) with a side of cottage cheese and the avocado fundido (smashed avocados with pico de gallo and shredded manchego cheese). The burger was alright. I asked for it to be somewhat rare, but there wasn't hardly a hint of pink when I got it. Buffalo is very lean so cooking it through really dries it up. But the cheese and mushrooms were a nice addition. As far as the cottage cheese, it was warm and had I think paprika on top. WTH? First of all, it shouldn't have been room temperature and why the hell would you spice it up without even putting that on the menu or letting me know. And the avocado mush was just hot guac, no spice, no kick, nothing spectacular. I was very disappointed. Since the husbands steak dinner wasn't on the menu, he ordered a steak pita on special. He said it was ok, but it was very bland. He peppered it with hot sauce to give it some flavor. Our waitress was really nice, but the service was slow. There were some young male guests nearby saying F this and F that really loud and yes, I know it's a bar, but we were in the restaurant side and it was rude and annoying. As a manager, I would have asked them to respect others around them. It was also very very dark, like hard to read the menu dark. Maybe reduce the light in the bar, not so much in the restaurant. And, while waiting for our food, a server dropped a salt shaker by our table. Instead of picking it up she walked on. She never came back. At least two servers walked past it before a diner who was leaving picked it up and put it on a nearby table. All in all, the food was not memorable and neither was the restaurant.

The service here is 5 stars. The food is good (fried chicken sandwich and fries for me). There are plenty of TV's to watch ball games. I frequently lament that Laramie is devoid of good restaurants, but LoveJoy's is quite good. It can get busy, but the staff are good at turning over tables.

We stopped in at Lovejoy's for a beer after a long walk through Laramie. We didn't get any food here but my husband (who used to frequent this bar in college) got a beer and really seemed to enjoy being back here. The service was really good. Both our server and the bartender chatted with us throughout our brief visit. This bar was on the quiet side and was nice and clean. I really enjoyed that it was right next to the train tracks. Maybe next time, if we ever find ourselves back in Laramie, we can get something to eat here.

I've been here twice and the first time I probably would have given between 3 and 4 stars for the sole reason that I ordered the cowboy ribeye, and it was really good for an $11 steak. Tonight we went for a friend's birthday and the food was uninspiring to say the least. After a long wait we were brought the Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich, and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The weird thing is, despite the long wait, our food wasn't hot. It was barely warm. Had it just been sitting there waiting to be brought out? The pulled pork sandwich is just meat and bread. No extra sauce, no slaw....nothing. The "spicy" chicken sandwich also had no sauce on it. Not even a swipe of mayo, and was utterly flavorless. I love the location and set up of the restaurant, and it's always been clean with adequate service, but...maybe try doing a few less menu items and doing them well rather than having such a large menu?

First step when you go in there don't go in there, second step if you messed up on the first step well your screwed because this is they WORST FOOD. we ordered are food to go and the bartender said she would give us a ring. But forgot and left it out in they open they also made us wait 20 minutes for them to go and pick up my husbands burger. THIS IS NOT A BAR AND GRILL IT IS JUST A BAR !!!!

What an improvement since the last time we were here! We ordered cheese sticks with marinara and a pub pretzel (just a hot soft pretzel) with Asiago cheese sauce. Of course, the apps are previously frozen but they were better than most bar fare I've eaten. Served hot, not greasy. That Asiago cheese dipping sauce was DELICIOUS! Ordered 3 burgers with fries. I asked how the kitchen is at getting food to "medium". Our server suggested we order the burgers medium rare so they come out medium. LOL, so we ordered 3 medium rare burgers. They were medium-ish, leaning towards the dead side of the range. Still flavorful, just a bit dry. I was most impressed with our server, Dusty. She was so accommodating to us! She was attentive without being intrusive, very professional! If I had a restaurant, I would hire her!!

I just ate the worst fettuccine Alfredo I have ever eaten. Incredibly salty an the chicken had the texture of meat that was cooked yesterday.

My first stop in Laramie, and a great choice. Service was friendly and fast. I had the blackened salmon tacos and sweet potato fries, and both were tasty. I also tried the pale ale on draft, and it was a nice start to a fun beer-filled weekend in Laramie. I would definitely go back.

We spent the July 4th weekend. We went into the historic Area of Laramie. After some sightseeing we stopped at a local candy store and ask what was the best place to eat in this area. The shop owner recommended this place The food and service was fantastic. Will stop here again when we are in Laramie.

I have been here a few times and I am giving up on it. The food was ok but the service is not so great. One time I went the waitress was good but the next two times they were terrible, the waiter was rude and they ignore you if you are not a frat guy. There are other places in downtown Laramie to go instead of this place.

I'm giving them 5 stars even though I never ate my meal. Earlier in the day, I had a bad bout with altitude sickness. By the time we went to dinner I felt much better and was hungry. For some reason, as soon as they set my salad down, the sickness came back. Really bad. Once I got myself together and made sure that I wasn't going to be "that guy who got sick in the restaurant", I told our server that I wasn't feeling well and that she should not bring out my entree. I was still more than happy to pay for it but let the kitchen staff share it or something. Our server and the manager we very considerate and accommodating and they halved my bill since I didn't eat it. So I don't know what their food tastes like but I really appreciate good service and being treated well. I will go back here to try the food the next chance I get.

...After living over fifteen years in Laramie I can truthfully say I've never had a bad dining experience here. The burgers may be the best in town. ...Super impressed by their breakfast burrito (nice dish on a Sunday morning!)

I had to walk out. Sitting at one end of the bar, and a very well dressed gentleman was sitting mid bar. He was the only patron who wasn't white. He was the only patron to have a drink spilled on him. He was a bit upset. Several patrons suggested bringing him some watermelon to placate him, and the bartender agreed that might do the trick. Wow.

Nice restraunt. There are three things I had a problem with. When a train goes by it shakes the restraunt. They are soooo loud. But, I can put up with it. The second thing is that their menu seems limited. I can always find at least one thing I like, but I wish there were more options. The third detractor is the small size of the place. I always feel cramped. If only they had a larger building and were in a different location. The food is always better than most, but never better than all. I really enjoy the softshell tacos there. They have a great selection of brews. If you need a quick bite to eat, and don't mind loud trains, a tight fit, then this is the place for you.

This place was really meh. Nothing really stood out to me about it. Never had the food, but the drinks and the scene were nothing special. Just another bar downtown. I will have to come back another time to give it a chance. I'll keep you posted.

Lovejoy's is a nice place to go if you're looking for dinner. The meals aren't anything that's worth writing home about (but worth writing a Yelp review about), and their selection of beers (including locals!) is okay. Service tends to be relatively fast, and they have a couple of TVs which are usually playing sports. The place is laid out kind of oddly, so while there is enough space for large groups, you'll probably have to sit apart from each other. After you're done with dinner, you can come back and check out the bar. The bar tends to be quieter and less crowded than others in town, but again, due to the weird layout, it's not really a place to go if you have more than a few friends.

Food was so-so, but prices were good and so was the service. I ordered the bison meatloaf with garlic mash, I expected more flavor from the description on the menu, but it wasn't horrible. Same with my chocolate torte dessert. So overall food was not horrible but nothing great to recommend about it.

I was in Laramie for a week earlier this month, and this was the first place we went for lunch... we didn't go back. It's not great, it's not terrible - everything about it is just average. The service was all right - not terribly quick or friendly. The food was fine. Overall, though, there are much better places to eat in Laramie.

One word: Service. Some places have it and some don't and Lovejoy's definitely has it. Easily the nicest bartenders I've encountered in Laramie so far. Matty and Brenda are great behind the bar and they make you feel welcome and relaxed. I like the train traffic outside, it's fun to watch them go by while you enjoy a beer with friends. You can't miss when you order a burger. My favorite place in Laramie.

Don't expect a lot, but it's better than going to a chain restaurant in town that's for sure. Prices are reasonable, especially if you aren't drinking and service was generally good. If you find yourself in the hinterland and want a bite to eat with standard American fare, Lovejoy's isn't a bad place.

Always enjoy eating here, very friendly staff with good food. The Sunshine Crunch turkey sandwich is a particular favorite. It sits right across the street from a railroad track which I love because I happen to love watching trains, it's not distracting to the dining experience but does add fun to it.

Not a particularly great bar and restaurant. There's only one thing here that you can't find done better someplace within a 5 block radius: the sunshine crunch. This arterial clogger is two slices of sourdough, battered with crushed potato chips, fried, and used as the basis for a sandwich of turkey breast, bacon, swiss, and cheddar cheese. It still haunts me... Otherwise, head to Altitude for the same beer, better food, and better atmosphere.
