We chose Jeffery's from the reviews on Yelp. We were traveling through Laramie for work and wanted something different than the dime a dozen bar and grill. The menu had a lot of really interesting and unique items that seemed to feature a wide variety of tastes. We were immediately struck by the price. It seemed a little spendy for the setting. We ordered the special and a plate of their signature nachos. I could have sworn that the nachos were advertised as Blue corn tortilla chips... But nevertheless we received what appeared to be store bought flour tortilla chips with a frugal amount of cheese. More than half of the chips had no cheese to speak of. They were topped with a black bean spread (meh), sour cream (standard) and green onions. Truly, the only impressive part was the homemade salsa. The special was a pasta dish with spinach, onions, and sausage. The sausage turned out to be the hero of this otherwise standard pasta dish, and for almost $14, we were left wondering what made this dish so special. Overall, the flavors were clean and fresh. For the most part it seemed homemade, which based on how long it took to make, I would hope is true. If the prices had been a little more reasonable, I probably would have given it 4 stars, but based upon what you are getting for what you are paying, I have to go with 3.

Walking around Los Angeles the other day, I said to myself, "I'm in the mood for the best black bean burger in the world." All day long doing errands and going through my mental Rolodex-- "Where the hell did I have the best damn black bean burger in the world? Certainly wasn't Anchorage, not London... and South Korea basically turned me into a Vegan..." And then it hit me. Jeffrey's Bistro in Laramie, WY of population 17K-ish is a diamond in the frozen rough. Located downtown just across from the Riflemaker's shop, Jeffrey's is the Old West at its Hipster Best. Don't tell this to the ranchers, professors, business owners, WyoTechers, and UW professors & students who are too cool even for Hipsters. Bricks and chalkboards and deliciously healthy nom noms. This place would get five stars on my Richter scale if they had beer on tap. I'm no Colorado brew expert, mind you. I'm just a fan of open air and liquid flavor in an ice cold glass ;D

Whenever we visit the family up in Wyoming, we always make sure to stop in at Jeffrey's Bistro! This cute little place is situated on a corner in the middle of "downtown" Laramie. Their gourmet offerings are delicious but not pretentious. I try something new every year. This year I tried the greek pita. The pita bread was warm, plump and soft, and it was overflowing with grilled eggplant, mushrooms, and other delicious vegetables. I also had a side salad with the spicy cilantro lime dressing, which was delicious (and even a little spicy!) In the past I've ordered salads as entrees - they come in massive bowls and are very filling. My family tends to order the turkey sandwiches or pasta - both garner rave reviews. They also typically have a decent beer and wine selection. The staff is very friendly as we always come in with a group of 8-10. Kids entrees include grilled cheese sandwich, quesadilla, macaroni and cheese, and pizza. Beware though - the grilled cheese sandwich and mac & cheese are made with a white cheese, which our three year old wasn't expecting last year and threw. a. fit about. It was delicious but it didn't look like what he was used to, and they don't warn you about that on the menu.

As a group of people with special food needs and preferences, Jeffrey's was a welcome stop on or road trip. The atmosphere was inviting and the food was quite good, with a large selection of freshly prepared foods. My only real complaint was the service. Our waitress was fairly brusque when speaking to us and was not great with checking back with us even though it was not busy. Overall, I would definitely go again and just hope for friendlier service.

Really good food, and a nice selection; burger/sandwiches, veggie options, big meal salads, beer, wine, good looking desserts. The place is On the small side, sbig tours be aware, but If I'm through Laramie again I'll stop here for sure.

My favourite place for a sandwich in Laramie. The menu is pretty eclectic but most of it centres around salads, sandwiches, and pasta. They always have great specials, a large rotation of soups, and a decent selection of wine and beer for a town like Laramie. The next best thing to one of their hot, toasty sandwiches (I'm partial to the turkey pesto and tomato basil, also try the cherry chicken salad sandwich) is the great service. They've got some of the best waitstaff in Laramie. It's also worth going just for one of their impressive desserts. Last time I was there I had one of the ever changing mousse creations with a berry sauce and some creme fresh. Very subtle. Sadly, that will probably be my last time at Jeffrey's for a long time.

Wow. I'm not sure what to say about all of these positive reviews. This whole town was downright scary and Jeffrey's is no exception. I don't think this place gets cleaned very often. The carpets have faded to oblivion. My wife's seat was damp with who knows what, but it had soaked into the faded fabric and the flies seemed to enjoy it. The menu had some interesting items on it-- but I thought better than to try them after sensing the health practices of this establishment so I went with the cheapest, simplest thing on the menu. 1/2 a mushroom swiss sandwich for 8 bucks. I figured, the place is vegan/vegetarian friendly... they must have some nice grain bread and fresh mushrooms, right? No. A piece of white bread with a couple slices of swiss and pizza topping style mushrooms. And they managed to somehow make it greasier than fast food. To boot, they served it with some cardboard tasting bagged tortilla chips. For the sandwich, the cardboard chips and a blue sky soda (which came beside a clear plastic cup with a single lemon seed stuck to the inside of it), I dropped $11. Next time I'm picnicking at a rest stop.

I had the grilled portabello mushroom sandwich (with pesto sauce, some kind of fancy mayo, brie, tomatoes, and lettuce on foccacia) with a side of tortilla chips and a hot Chai tea. It was very tasty, a little messy, but definitely not what I was expecting to find in Laramie, Wyoming. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable. The service was friendly, fast, and always asking me if I needed anything... Excellent service. On my next trip out to Laramie, I will definitely make it a point to try something else on their menu. :)

The only place I've found that makes vegetarian/vegan food actually appetizing.

Great food, great atmosphere! I ordered the grilled chicken breast with cilantro - best sandwich I have had in awhile.

  • Isocephaly B.

Cute; small dining room; extensive menu; very, very vegetarian friendly... the food doesn't *quite* live up to its description (in other words, it *looks* more exciting on paper than it is). For example, a spectacular variety of delicious sounding salads don't appear to be avail for a first course (the side salad is decidedly meh). Mostly friendly service. If the black bean burger is as good as indicated below, I'm sad I didn't get it. For such a conservative corner of the country, Laramie is surprisingly filled with hipster establishments that specialize in vegetarian fare, including Jeffrey's--which seems very close to Sweet Melissa's in spirit. The difference is: Melissa's food is tastier and Jeffrey's dining room is more comfortable. (NB: I'd go back to Melissa's before I'd go back to Jeffrey's, despite the slight gloom to its ambiance that makes one wonder how sanitary everything is.)

Nick had seafood pasta dinner and I had Indian eggplant dish. Both were delicious! The wait staff was friendly and desert was included with the meal! Definitely must check them out!

Delicious food, great service. All in historic downtown Laramie, a 2-Mile detour off I-80. My husband had Mike's Amazing BLT, served on a mild jalapeño bun with basil mayo, and alongside a perfect coleslaw. He's still raving! I had the spinach chicken salad. It was served in a large salad bowl, the kind you toss a group salad in. And I ate every bite, every golden raisin, cashew, red onion slice... Perfect! Great atmosphere. Will stop again!

  • Becca D.

I really want to give this place 5 stars. The food was delicious! I ordered the Gorgonzola Salad, which came in a huge bowl with romaine greens, julienned apple slices, pecans, Gorgonzola cheese, carrots, croutons, and Gorgonzola dressing. I opted to add some grilled chicken for a little extra. Watching the cooks put the salad together was like watching an artist. The care and precision taken was fantastic. The salad comes with a warm homemade wheat roll. The cheesecake was also incredible. It was rich with the perfect crust. MmmMMMmmm good! The only gripe with this place is that it took FOREVER to get our food. The place was busy but not packed, and it seemed that our waitress was the only server in the restaurant. Other than that, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Jeffrey's.

Jeffrey's has been my standby restaurant in Laramie for almost 15 years. I live in Denver, and still look forward to going up to Laramie and then to Jeffrey's for the unique dishes and flavors. I have never not liked a meal there. I hands down recommend this as a top pick in town. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. It always feels slow, and they really could use an extra waiter/waitress during the peak lunch and dinner hours. So, if you go in, set your expectations low for speed, and everything else will be fabulous!!

  • Susanne L.

Great food! Hard to find really wholesome, natural, healthful food in a time like Laramie. It was a good choice!

  • S T.

It has been a favorite of the locals for almost 4 decades. The food is consistently good and interesting. We hope its around for 4 more decades.

Very good food. We ordered Jambalaya meals include soup main course, tea, dessert, for $ 24.00 , it is cheaper order meals than separately. The prtion for jambalaya is small but it has a good taste, different jambalaya compare in New Orleans. The restaurant is old but great atmosphere.Recommended.

I forgot the first thing I ate here, must have been some sandwich, but I was totally blown away by the "cosmic" coleslaw. We went back three more times while in Laramie and I found out their chicken salad sandwich was equally divine with the dark sweet cherries. I told our waiter how in love I was with their slaw and he came out with the recipe card itself (authentic and worn from being in the kitchen) and a piece of blank paper with a pen. Score! The service here was always good. I will say it could get a little cramped during lunch and dinner rush but the food is worth the tight space.

  • Mark H.

Have been here twice for lunch and now twice for dinner so I'm editing to say this is a great place for dinner and a good (but pricy) lunch spot. This is a welcome change of pace from the burger/steak/bar food establishments in town, so if you're looking for a place to escape from Wyoming for a brief visit, this is the ticket. I appreciate water is served in large carafes (as are the different iced teas, which are good) -- staying hydrated at this altitude is a must. I've had the corn tilapia sandwich and a turkey cranberry sandwich. Both tasted great - I remember the turkey cran sandwich being filling to the point I took half home, although I don't think a lunch sandwich should be something that needs to be a leftover. Trust the hype on the desserts - they're really good.

My husband and I ate lunch at Jeffrey's. The tomato bisque was excellent and the blueberry cobbler was fantastic. Not such great reviews on our entrees or on the service. Our server was aloof and not very friendly. Not likely to return because of the server's attitude.

Good food with an extensive menu and awesome salads and desserts so why an update/downgrade to 3 stars... slow and unfortunately inattentive service.

Yummy food! Not the typical fare, which was welcome. We love not eating at "the usual" when we travel. Our server took time to tell us about Jeffrey and the history of the business when we asked and also made sure if we were wary of trying something that if we didn't like it he would make sure we had something we did. The place was clean and quiet and easy to sit and enjoy conversation over dinner with family. We will certainly stop here again!

My wife and I arrived in Laramie in a cold driving rain and we really didn't want to leave our hotel. We considered ordering in a pizza but are glad we went to Jeffrey's. The warm friendly atmosphere, the exposed brick walls added to the experience. Oh the food, wonderful! We ordered the half sandwich with soup each. The soup was a meal in itself, bacon bean, thick rich and delicious. My sandwich was grilled cheese and the nice melted cheese was wonderful for a cold night. My wife had the deluxe avocado which she really enjoyed. I wish we had a Jeffrey's like this where we live!

  • Jonathan P.

Had Dopiazah, an Indian dish, it was awesome! There are a bunch of restaurants clustered in Laramie all by each other so it was difficult choosing, but we are so happy we came here. Unique menu options including daily specials. It's clear they make their food from scratch. The dessert was to die for! If we find ourselves in Laramie again we will definitely come back! Service was great as well, they were a friendly bunch.

I was first brought to Jeffrey's when visiting Laramie to interview for a faculty position at UW. It was our last meal in town, and I ordered one of the salads as a meal. Holy wow! I'm not sure how one person is meant to eat that much, but the flavor combinations of the apples, pecans, and blue cheese were simply heavenly. I felt bad that I couldn't possibly finish the dish, but I was flying back to Georgia that afternoon and had no real way to take it with me. Based on that short trip, my husband and I opted to hit up Jeffrey's for dinner when we came back to hunt for a house. It was rather late on a Saturday evening. So, they weren't terribly busy This time I went for the soup and half sandwich combo. They were out of the clam chowder listed on the board, but had just finished a tomato gorgonzola. I paired it with the grilled turkey peso sandwich, which might just be one of the most amazing sandwiches in the world. I'm pretty sure I'll dream of that pesto cream cheese. The soup was good. It had some celery and/or onion that I wasn't expected, but it made for a nice texture. My husband went for the blackbean burger, and loved it. The chipotle mayo was a little spicier than expected, but oh so delicious. I'm actually kind of happy he couldn't finish it, because we took the rest of it to go and I get to split the leftovers with him. Win! Bottom line, Jeffrey's will be on our regular rotation when we move here. The prices are nice and food is simply delicious.

I am in love with the portobello pesto brie sandwich. My go-to comfort food! I always get great service, and amazing food. I have been going to Jeffery's for 20+ years and have always left happy and full.

Um....yum! My Wyomingian family took me here since Jeffrey's is very vegetarian friendly. I splurged with a Blue Sky natural root beer a pot pie stuffed with tofu and garden fresh veggie. The crust placed on top was like a giant, buttery ritz cracker. I stole a few spoonfuls of my mom's creamy veggie soup as well. The desserts are to die for, especially the raspberry rhubarb cobbler and bread pudding. The service was great and they even stored our coats for us until we were ready to go.

HUGE salads! I felt almost embarrassed when it arrived. It was very tasty and filling. Jeffery's is a nice, healthy lunch option in Laramie.

Laramie doesn't have a ton of restaurant options, but Jeffrey's makes up for it. Salads big enough to feed 3, pretty decent thai shrimp burrito, and a bunch of other things (it's a pretty extensive menu)--pretty much anyone can find something they like here. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff are friendly. The only bread options they have are the ones listed, so if you're allergic to something (me, peppers/chilis) you might have to forego your original option.

  • Harry B.

Was traveling and stopped in Laramie. Was going to go to a Thai place around the corner when I crossed this place. Menu seemed to be trying way too hard to be Bohemian without really providing ingredients that meshed will together (Shrimp scampi w/ brown rice); also no beef on the menu.... I ordered the Thai shrimp burrito w/ rice and beans. Wine list was weak but the beer menu was good (college town). Wait staff was friendly, setting and decor is nice. Burrito was no good. Shrimp were fresh and well cooked but the burrito was filled with a bland thick peanut sauce covering heated shredded cabbage. Rice and black beans were OK but did not go with the rest of the meal. I ate the shrimp out of the burrito finished my beer and called it.

Are you kidding me.... open the bottle in the backroom, no cork, and you as a wait person are trumped.....completely clueless about wine service.. first suggestion-- training might be a solution or 2) we should all .take our business to Fort Collins. Do you think that this is as it gets in Laramie...? The website has not been updated since November 29 and 30th...why bother...suggestion take the website down if you are not going to keep it up to date..it is really unprofessional.

Found this delightful place for dinner upon arriving in Laramie. Looked up organic restaurants and always love the Bistro feel. However when I put on the " open now" filter.. It disappeared. I was sad it wasn't open and then by some fluke my phone directions took me there after all, when I had meant to find another place. It WAS open ! A very charming place, nice atmosphere, well appointed and we had a barbecue chicken sandwich and chicken with cilantro , garlic aioli. They were delicious. So, call and check before giving up, cause it's worth the drive!

4 Stars for the food. 2 Stars for the customer service This place was another Yelp! found gem. The interior definitely has the organic, healthy hippie vibe, which I found unique for Laramie. The food here is really good. The menu has a unique and exciting point of view. They offer a huge selection of vegan dishes with the option that everything can come with meat! Ah, Wyoming... Thank you. It is not often that you find a restaurant offering food that is completely unexpected and surprising. Everything had a real twist, from the chicken Marsala with Sage and Apples to the chicken in Thai curry with banana and veggies to the spicy and flavorful jambalaya. Each dish was well balanced, flavorful and very tasty. There was so much variety in the menu from sandwiches to huge salads to entrees offering flavors from India, Thailand, the Bayou, Italy, American. Don't forget about the desserts. Seriously, this place has a HUGE desert menu. One of the best things about this restaurant is that if you get an entree as a "full meal" option you get a salad or soup and dessert included. The average price is around $18.00 for a full meal. It gets you a lot of food without the feeling of being stuffed like a duck being prepped for foi gras. I personally found the Jambalaya to be as hot as a full on bottle of habanero sauce, but I might just be a wimp. The Thai curry chicken with banana, ordered by my friend, was a wonderful cooling compliment to my Jambalaya O' Fire. The banana flavor was more akin to an essence of banana rather than an overpowering banana cream pie type of flavor. The desserts were incredible. The pot o' creme was absolutely light, airy and creamy and smooth. It was not too sweet. It was topped with fresh berries and a great homemade whipped cream. The fudge brownie sundae came topped with triangles of ice cream and heavily drizzled with a thick and rich hot fudge sauce. Now for the bad. The service is erratic. The waitresses are chatty, and obviously a little self obsessed. The kitchen operates in spurts of smoothness and mired in the weeds. The time between courses ranges from quick to long inexplicable delays. I can not stand when servers auction off dishes upon bringing them to the table, "who got the meat-loaf!?" It is a common custom among U.S. restaurant workers, but it never fails to bug me, a lot. Jeffrey's has great food and not so great service. Thankfully the food is really really good.

Jeffrey's is simply amazing! My favorite item on any Laramie restaurant's menu is on Jeffrey's menu, and it is the corn crusted spicy black bean burger. If I were sitting on death row, only hours from my execution, I would ask for Jeffrey's black bean burger as my final meal, followed up with Jeffrey's peach-raspberry cobbler dessert (with vanilla ice cream). Honest to goodness, I love this place, the staff is fantastic, and they also always have a wonderful beer and wine selection. Enjoy!

Ok, first off I am from the bayarea of SF California where we *think* we are familiar with good food and 5 star establishments. Stopped by here hungry with my friend on our epic road trip to Chicago and back. What a nice surprise to stumble upon Jeffry's here in Laramie. From our first impression, reviewing the menu posted on the door I immediately noted that there was strong Thai influence in the fusion and creative dishes listed. This caught me totally off guard as I was expecting typical heavy, fatty and bland items typical of American fare. The typical burgers and fries were absent, replaced instead by a variety of interesting ethnic fare from the Jambalaya to the focaccia sandwiched turkey breast sandwich. Entering the welcoming, comfortable and inviting dining area I immediately felt good. Brick walls adorned with vines, art and pottery suggested that this place has potential. There is a chalk board on the wall with today's hand and home made specials. Selections include soups, wines, beers and deserts. Service is friendly, reasonably fast but who needs to rush through nice environment, great food and friendly service? I ordered a Spicy Split Pea soup with sausage and spinach. What a flavor treat!!! Once again, it surprised me how good it was. I also had a turkey breast sandwich which came on focaccia and a side of slaw. The slaw was done with a sweet and citrus dressing which had a hint of cilantro as well or I thought it did. Either way it was totally different from the typical mayo dressing stuff and BOY was it worth it. Finished with a hot ramekin of peach/raspberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The flavor was the tops with fresh fruit baked in caramelized brown sugar. The topping was a bit thick for my taste but over all, it was a winner. I hope I can come back here again and I hope you give this place a try.

My companion and I stopped here for lunch as we were passing through on our way to Denver and I was surprisingly shocked at how amazing the food was. All the produce tasted incredibly fresh and there was a nice mix of interesting dishes and flavors. I really wish I could make a trip back, if only just to try more things on the menu, as everything looked so good and I expect that it all tastes just as amazing, considering the quality of what I ate :) Definitely a stand out in Laramie and a nice breath of fresh air.

Just like the others before me on here. 5-star taste, classy yet casual atmosphere... lacking in good service, but no worse than most restaurants. Glad I didn't let that keep me from trying this place out... bragged about my black bean burger all night. hope to be back.

I'd give this 5.5 stars if a I could. My husband and I ate here for dinner and lunch on a recent trip through Laramie. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful. We had some questions about the menu, and the waitress explained everything and made some great recommendations. The soup was phenomenal. We had to come back for lunch the next day to get more. I had the sopa verde, a cream of potato soup with tomatillos, green chiles, and lime. I've never tasted anything quite like it. The flavors were bright, and the soup had a nice consistency. Hubby had the bean and bacon, which was equally good. It had a smokey, roasted tomato base and tasted like it could have come right off a campfire. Our dinner entrees were good. We got the full meal for an additional $7, which included coffee or tea, soup or salad, and dessert. The desserts were delicious. Everything looked so good that we had a hard time making a decision. Our sandwiches the next day at lunch were also delicious. Everything was fresh and seemed homemade. The restaurant was packed at lunch, but the waitstaff were still prompt and friendly. They did a really good job managing the lunch rush. Having driven cross-country several times, this was a nice find. It was a breath of fresh air after a week on the road. The food was fresh, the flavors were different, and the people were friendly. We'll be eating here again next time we're in Laramie.

My Indian eggplant dish, Dopiazah, was flavorful, and needed more rice, but me, I'm Chinese, I think everything could use more rice. The chutney was more of a jam, coulda used just a dollop more. The flavor was nice with the Dopiazah. My husband opted for the Chicken Milanese instead of the Pot Pie when the server indicated with her hands that the serving would be about as big as a dainty teacup. I guess he was hungry. When the dish arrived, we were dismayed at the seemingly small portion. It's just breaded chicken breast over pasta, we expected a lot. (I guess those national franchises have us jaded over what is a "portion"). He ate it all and was not wanting for more. I tasted it, but after my Dopiazah I couldn't get a good read on the flavor. Service was slow, we felt like we waited forever just to get our water. and our salad. The salad was described as "a variety of 5 nutrient rich greens" --I get it, vegetables are good for you. On the other hand, I loved that the salad was laid out, the rich greens, bright and shiny carrots, and that purple cabbage! Like an artist's palette. I suspect the tomatoes were from some giant service like Sysco, they were pale and flavorless--not what I expected at all from a place with such an adventurous menu and it being peak tomato season.... All dressings are house made, my Creamy Mango Vinagrette was delish! I just wish I had remembered to order my dressing on the side. I'll have to try dessert next time I'm up there. I think they have as many desserts as they do entrees! Anybody up for an "all dessert dinner"

It's dangerous to be an out-of-towner reviewing a restaurant. I'm posting only because this might be of interest to other travelers who have expectations that might not be met, based on these reviews. There's another caveat, as well. Passing through, we might have hit what is just a bad patch for them. Summer isn't the easiest time for getting reliable help in college towns and, honestly, I cannot imagine the impossibility of keeping premises spiffy in the terribly windy and dusty summer days of Laramie. It also occurs to me that there might be some significant problems in getting produce that is still top-grade and super-fresh by the time it hits the plate. From this, you can infer some of the downsides we saw, although these are not actually criticisms. One of the strengths is a varied menu that appears to be available for both lunch and dinner, i.e. it seems to be possible to have an entrée at lunch and a sandwich or impressive salad creation at dinner. The menu has a laudable variety, without veering into the "this is a little weird" combinations of ingredients. Flavors are pleasantly assertive. There are daily specials, too. These are written on a chalk board, so you'll need to check this before or after you are seated. Although the special entrée was mentioned, the full information, at least for us, was not available at the table. Reasonable prices for specials and for the regular menu make Jeffrey's a fine value. Two people can easily spend less than $50, including a 20% tip, which by my lights means that the menu and drinks are well priced: true values, one could say. Food arrives at the table hot, which is no small feat because at least one more server (or a couple of bussers) were needed. It was difficult to get a server's attention for drink refills simply because they always seemed to be over-busy. Excellent hustle, spread over too many diners, which makes giving a table's orders kind of difficult, too. I had one small quibble about presentation. One dessert was a peppermint-y ice cream cake, topped with bits of peppermint. Unfortunately, the peppermint pieces had melted somewhat into the top, which gave an effect of recently extracted baby teeth. Of particular interest in the decor is a display of really interesting pottery. I couldn't tell whether the pieces were recently hand-crafted or collectible, but they are simply lovely. The atmosphere is convivial; it seems to be a good place for families to gather. Even the youngest members fit in happily. The ceiling is high, the surfaces are hard, and tables are close to each other. This is an unpretentious place, thoroughly at home in downtown Laramie and an obvious favorite with many locals. Non-locals who adjust their expectations to the realities of a restaurant in a small town that is fairly remote will likely enjoy it, too.

I have had their great salads. They are tasty and beautiful + huge. All the dressings are gluten free. Today my son and I had the daily special, Spicy Indian chicken curry... It was served with mango chutney. I hate to say that I did not like it. First, it was not spicy, in my view. More important, the chutney overpowered everything. Indian food is amazing but unfortunately a lot of restaurants think it is exactly this, ginger and chutney. The flavors are too harsh, no blending. I still like this restaurant.

I stopped at Jeffery's for a bite to eat while visiting a friend in Laramie. My first impression was quite positive; it was very clean and welcoming inside. The server that I interacted with was friendly and prompt. I opted for take-out, and I ordered the Thai Burrito with Tofu. I was unpleasantly surprised that the total came to about $15! I have never seen a burrito come anywhere near that price range, but I figured I was on vacation so "whatever". Once I actually got my food and looked at it, I'd say it was a portion warranting about $8. I'm not really sure why it was about twice the price that something similar would cost elsewhere. The food was good; not great, but good. The burrito was filled with a generous portion of carrots, cabbage, and tofu, but I thought the peanut sauce was quite bland and overly salty. It was served with a side of refried black beans which was quite good (I'd take them over pinto beans any day) and a side of dry, relatively flavorless brown rice. Meh. I can't say that I was impressed, but I will have to give this place the benefit of the doubt since their menu had some other really interesting sounding stuff on it that I'd like to try. Whenever I end up in Laramie again I will have to see what some of their other offerings are all about.

A really creative menu and good food, too. Not someplace I frequent often, but every time I've been there it's been a solid spot to eat.

Food gets 4-5 stars. I've never had a bad meal at Jeffrey's...EVER! Service gets no more than 2 stars...EVER! In all fairness this is the general trend in Laramie though. Restaurant owners settle for apathetic college kids with no skills rather than training them to be somewhat decent at their job. In all my visits to Jeffrey's the service has generally always been slow and inattentive. It's too bad because I would go there more often when I'm in town if the service was more reliable.

This is probably the best restaurant in Laramie! Fun atmosphere, good service, fresh/wholesome food, and a dynamic menu. We love Jeffrey's because it's different than most other relatively-boring Laramie restaurants. On our last visit, we had two sandwiches and two soups (chicken pesto sandwich and split pea soups). Both were quite good -- as usual, no complaints. The Jackson beer that was on the menu was a nice compliment to the sandwich, though we were discouraged to learn that the beer itself was not actually brewed in Wyoming, but in Idaho instead. Oh well ... Service was also good -- a combination of being present, but not overly intrusive. As a staple Laramie restaurant, we will definitely return.

Jeffrey's has been around since, oh, what? 1982ish?? or there abouts. Reading the reviews it appears that it has not changed in philosophy and/or service in all this time. Back in that day I was not vegetarian or Vegan - nor am I now, but I do appreciate and order from that menu regularly and Jeffrey's would be THE place I'd expect to find delicious food. It's nice that somethings stay the same!

Looking for dopiazah or thai chicken with bananna in Wyoming? Since the answer is obviously yes, head on over to Jeffrey's Bistro. Ecclectic menu includes thai, indian, mexican, and cajun dishes. Numerous vegetarian options as well. Hands down the best meals during my nine-day stay in Laramie.

Driving across this country as a vegan was quite an adventure (they almost threw me out of Wisconsin for ordering my food without cheese). So imagine my surprise and delight to find a yummy vegetarian restaurant in the middle of Wyoming!
