On the way to the Yellowstone national park. It was a nice surprise to have found this place to eat lunch. Great food. Fresh and tasty. Will come again.

What a surprise! Great food. Don't let the outside fool you, the food here is delicious! Fast and delicious. Nothing fancy but who needs that when the food is this good. Really!

I eat here every chance I get. I love the hamburgers and if I feel like a little Mexican then I go with the Mucho Burrito. Plan on getting a "to go" box for this behemoth though. They have food for any taste and whether you feel like American of Mexican food, you can't beat the taste or price of El Jalisciense. The wait staff is friendly and the food comes out so quick you will think the cook is a psychic. The only issue I have is pronouncing the name. If you are only passing through and you want guaranteed good food, stop here.

We stopped by during our road trip. Not many options at all. We were very pleasantly surprised! I had the tacos al carbon, my hubby had a chicken burrito. Both were great! The food came out so fast, the staff was very friendly, and the place was very clean. We would definitely stop here again if heading this way!

This restaurant is what I'd call a "hole in the wall" -- not so much to look at but wonderful food inside. I ate late on a Saturday afternoon so the dinner crowd hadn't hit yet (even though there was a bluegrass festival in town). Food was wonderful (large enough portions to satisfy, but not so large you're overwhelmed), service was superb, prices were more than fair. I think I spent about $10 on my meal. The menu is large, everything from tacos to more elaborate dinners. I was interested in one of the smaller platters, but it was under the heading "lunch specials." I asked the waitress if it was too late to get those and she said no, so that's what I had. I don't know if they accommodated me because they weren't busy or they really do serve "lunch specials" all day but I did appreciate it. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. I've checked the "moderate" price range in the survey but you can also dine for under $10, it just depends on what you choose from the menu.

Went in because I had a hunger for a Chille relleno just like home in Albuquerque. Ordered a relleno and some Arroz con pollo, that's chicken & rice for all of you gringos. The Relleno was good but it wasn't a Hatch Chille. The Arroz con Pollo was tasty & good. It has mushrooms & onions & I like both. It also had sliced carrots that I could have done without. All in all the food was good. Had to get a to-go box because it was a lot of food. They do turn off the "Open" sign about 1/2 hr before closing so get there by 8pm Monday-Saturday if you want to eat because they close at 9.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
