Best burger I've ever had, and a great view to top it off.

Food great service with an ego. Read the menu...they won't really answer questions with knowledge but with plenty of attitude. Burgers good. View good. Service with attitude good ( and I waited tables at at Jackson hot spot for 11 years). I choose not to go back.

Fantastic environment. Beautiful view. Fun and super nice wait staff. Delicious food. Great beer. Not kid friendly. Honestly what more could you ask for? A fantastic place to kick back, enjoy a great meal and have a few yummy drinks.

This is a bar. They happen to serve some food, too. Pretty loud. Cleanliness? Probably. The best burger I have had in awhile. Nice selection of beers on tap. The patio is nice. Good views of the valley. This is a bar. If you are looking for a great burger, and a nice selection of beers on tap, this is your place.

The Bird has a great deck with amazing views and delicious food. I recommend the burgers- 4oz and the wings.

The bird is awesome. Really excellent burgers, brats, etc. and wonderful service. A great casual, family friendly place with a great outdoor deck too.

After very little deliberation, I give the Bird the 'middle finger!' Can you not award a half-star on Yelp? Okay; one star for view and potential . . . the rest of these reviews must be written by friends because this place is more pretentious than than "The Grille," has worse service than McDonalds, their food is mediocre to good, and their beers are way too over priced for their location. Also, BS on the Yelp $$ for price range because it's more like $$$$ for mediocrity. Did I mention they think they are way cooler than you? Oh, well they totally believe they are so you had better be in the bro-brah crowd to slip seamlessly into this establishment and suck down on their bones. Want a good burger and a beer in Jackson; just ask anyone who works here where to go and 9.3141596535 times outta 10 they'll mention someplace other than the Bird. Fek their free shuttle to nowhere South, pricey beers, and $13 burgers because you could stay in town or hit up the West Bank, anywhere other than the industrial zone of JH until they change their attitude and prices . . . did I mention one star for views? Pirates never lie, they love burgers, and I've been here much longer than this shite hole!

Worst #1 rated restaurant I have ever eaten at in all my travels. The burger was mediocre, fries good, and house salad with turkey (very dry) was poor.

Was really looking forward to trying this place after seeing it listed as having the "Best Burger in Wyoming"! Well, I haven't had many burgers in Wyoming, but I can say that it is one of the best burgers I have EVER had! We started off on the back patio which has one of the most gorgeous views ever! So it was a great setting for "date night". We started off with some wings...delicious! The sauce was spicy and tangy and you could tell by the smell, that they were tasty! I ordered the #%@# Bird. I was a bit worried about pickled beets being on my burger, but they added just the right touch of sweetness along with the egg and bacon. I also like the fact that they're served on an english muffin...less bread to take away from the deliciousness of the perfectly cooked medium rare patty. The fries were crispy and cooked just right! All in all...this place is awesome!

I never thought I'd be eating a delicious, juicy burger in Jackson, WY! My friend found this place on Yelp years ago since he loves to try burger places, and we happened to be in the area as we were heading home from Yellowstone! It's a cool place to hangout and has an amazing view of the rolling hills and farms below. It's not necessarily the kind of place to bring your kids, but more of a hangout for adults (as the hilariously written menu will attest to). The table next to us was a group of 10 women having a good time. Their table had a pole right in the center of it, going up towards the ceiling! I can only imagine what this place is like at night! And if you get too shwasted with their vast beer selection and full bar, they have a free shuttle! I ordered the burger that had guacamole and green salsa. For me, the measure of a burger is not just in the quality of the toppings, but the meat itself! The meat was tender and juicy and very hot! You can tell it's fresh! You can choose from either a 4 or 9 oz burger. And suprise!!! It's on an english muffin bun, how fun is that?! I like when the chefs take the time to be creative!

Really great place. Good music. Good service and great food. The schnitzel is fabulous. We were recommended this place by a local while on vacation and it was well worth checking out.

This place is a real hidden gem! Burgers are awesome fries are fresh and the beer was cold. Can't beat the view. The services was very good as well. If you are a needy tourist type this isn't your place. If you are a humble not pretentious individual you'll love this place.

A low-key place with a real nice view of the valley and a good menu for casual fare -- at uninflated prices. "They say" it is a place for locals. I've been in the area for 6 years and have NEVER seen them advertise (as all other restaurants seem to do in the local -- neat-- free daily newspaper). There is a different feel here from most of the uppity Jackson restaurants. It is south of town on US 89 and a bit hard to find unless you know where to look. For this kind of food, it is definitely worth trying.

A local recommended this place to us and it did not disappoint! A great pub with a fantastic view, friendly people and great burgers. I ordered a BBQ burger and the sauce blew me away. My husband got the $&@! And loved it as well. They offer a gluten free bun and hard cider for those that are GF which was nice.

So with two kids in tow we pulled in late to Jackson looking for a good burger joint and stumbled upon The Bird. Tuck away in I'm not sure what (turns out a smallish apartment complex/business mall), found this quaint little pub. They serve food late which was perfect. Not exactly a family place but kid's are welcome. Ordered a round of burgers (ghetto on a good day) was tasty as was the rest of the food. All the burgers came on English muffins which was different but good (except for our picky 13yo). We got a plate of the Asian peppers to start. Not too spicy but could be like pepper roulette. And a full chalk board of cold local brews to chose from on tap. The outside deck was the place to be for watching the sunset over the valley and snake river. A big screen offered NBA finals action inside around the circular bar in the middle of the main room. Will be back another day for moms night out.

NO JOKE THE BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER ATE! Way fun atmosphere, The most incredible view, Nice and fast waiters and waitresses. lots of beer on tap and fun drinks. unlimited mimosas on Sundays. definitely the place to be

The establishment had a certain air of je ne sais quoi. The server was very nice and we saw him quite frequently. The food itself was more than exceptional as the burger was scrumptious.

  • Ter L.

Sunday at 3:30 and the sun was blazing on the deck so we were left to be subjected to the LOUD music inside. Took too long for anyone to take our beer order. Beer is over priced. Took too long for anyone to take our food order. Food is WAY over priced. Unusual burgers? We were very disappointed. Switch up the cheese, with or without bacon, with or without egg, etc. Nothing unusual about the burgers other than served on an english muffin. Big whoop. We were haphazardly waited on by three different people. One burger was brought to the table and without a word the waitress left. We sat around watching and waiting and about three minutes later the other two burgers were served and without a word that waitress left. We had to ask for water and then finally had to ask for our ticket. Even if it had been a cooler day that we could sit on the deck we didn't think the view was that great either. Railing and sky unless you sit at the bar stools at the edge of the deck. Big sad bust.

Great wait staff, delicious burgers, stellar draft list & wonderful back porch view. After a sweaty 7 mile hike in Grand Teton, this place was perfect.

Best Burger options in Jackson, our favorite hangout for Wing Night and GREAT selection of German brews. Best brunch too that's aptly named "Sunday Funday": get bottomless mimosas/bloody mary's year-round and catch live music out on the deck in the summer. Huge schnitzels so be ready to order and enjoy the real deal local Jackson Hole flavor. Oh, and you can't beat the free shuttle with Larry. Drive Safe Jackson!

Was recommended to us by locals when we visited Jackson Hole. Delicious fresh burgers. Loved that the burgers came on English muffins. Juicy burger! And awesome fresh cut French fries. Friendly service, fun atmosphere and gorgeous views.

The Bird is the word! A day of hiking tends to make me quite ravenous. But then again, if you know me well you know that I am ALWAYS hungry. If you have ever thought about relocating, well Jackson Hole might be the place for you if you are a burger and beer fanatic. Plus, you're right near a bunch of moose and the Grand Tetons (named for...well, a grand something) and that's all you really need in life. They have inside and outside seating available, at first we chose to dine outside, but it got a bit chilly and windy so they moved us back inside. You know, might as well experience both worlds right? They have their own meat grinder in house and get fresh stuff on the daily. They have great beer on tap and a open and airy inside that is bright and welcoming. Our waitress was super friendly and when we ordered, she told the boy, "No no, you don't want your burger medium well. You want it medium rare." So, okay, he agreed. I got the hippie-lover-patchouli wearing veggie burger (if you've seen the menu, you'll know the reference), all made in house. The menu claimed it would be the best veggie burger I ever had in my life. And dare I say it...they were right. It was incredible. The regular burger, also the best burger ever in our lives (sorry dad, your burgers have moved to the number two spot on my list). Plus, fries! Hand cut delicious fried goodness! I am surprised that this place doesn't have that many reviews. Hurry up and go, before the secret gets out!

OMG! This was so yummy. I can't wait to go back. The wait for food was long but well worth the wait. They have a great beer selection and an incredible view of the mountains, so waiting for the food wasn't so terrible as others have complained about. This will be one of the great memories of our cross country adventure.

Bring your sunglasses! Huge, great patio with a fantastic view. We weren't prepared and suffered with seats at the bar. :) Great homemade veggie burger. The english muffin thing is fine but makes for a small patty. It was fine, just wanted to note the impact of their bread choice. Great beer selection and we had fun having dinner at the bar after a looooong hike.

What a great time we had at The Bird! A few of my girlfriends and I came here for wings and beer and loved it! The hot wings were very yummy and the bleu cheese dip was amazing. Tons of beer selections and friendly staff. After we ate, we sat around the bar and enjoyed a few more beers and had a great time conversing with the bartender and other patrons!!

As a life time connoisseur of burgers I was fired up although cautious when some friends suggested the Bird as a amazing burger place. It was hands down one of the most flavorful burgers of my life..very lean, cooked perfectly and had AMAZING flavors. Highly recommend this place to anyone that loves burgers as you will not be disappointed... It should be called the best burger in the west!

Love the Bird!! Best wings in town and the burgers are to die for! Awesome atmosphere, it can get a little loud, that's half the fun though!! You wont be disappointed!

I'm giving the Bird "the bird". Unbelievably bad service. The waitress clearly didn't like serving people and she sure let you know it. I'm sick and tired of servers in resort towns having an attitude. If you don't like serving anyone but locals then get out of the business. I worked as a server all through college and I understood that it wasn't always easy but it was the reason I had a job. The food was fine and had the service not been so off putting I would have probably given it a better review although my burger that I ordered "medium" which the menu said was pink throughout was cold red in the middle. The waitress never checked to see how the food was so I just ate around it. At the end of the meal she tried to suck up a little bit angling for a better tip which just pissed me off more. I agree the view is pretty but I don't really get why this place has such great reviews.

  • Ainslie V.

Seat yourself type of place. Sat outside and the view was fantastic. Ordered the patty met medium rare but it came out more like medium. Regardless it tasted delicious. It's about 6 or so mins outside of Jackson Hole but it was down the street from the KOA I was staying at so it was definitely worth the trip. Will definitely go back!

If I ever come out this way I will come here again! Cabo Greg burger- 1/4lb was just satisfying for me, left me wanting more but the delicious crispy fries filled the void. Generous ratio of guac to burger, SO GOOD. Messy, so none of that try to wipe your hands- just finish the burger! French dip was super flavorful too- too bad I only got a bite to try. Falls apart the second you dip it though, the meat is so so tender. Service was prompt and really friendly. Note: loved everything cept the flies that were stuck by the window. Not trying to share my burger!

Best veggie burgers in town! Don't let the gruff menu fool you. Buried at the bottom of the burgers section you may spot something called the "Bushy Beaver." Read on and you will discover that this is actually a veggie burger hidden among the sea of meat which comprises the majority of the menu. ORDER THIS BURGER. Especially if you are a vegetarian. You won't find a better veggie burger for 500 miles. My girlfriend and I are both vegetarians and we love this burger. The only downsides (for us) with this restaurant are that there aren't more veggie options (I know, that's not really their style) and that it's kind of expensive. Not ridiculously overpriced, just a little on the high end. The beer also seems to be priced a bit high. But it's definitely worth a trip there if you're gonna be in town. One warning: for some reason if you want cheese on your veggie burger it will cost you $2. Seriously. $2 for a slice of cheddar. That's crazy. But, luckily it's really good without cheese.

LOVED THIS PLACE! Amazing burgers and a free shuttle---you can't beat that. They're a few miles outside of downtown Jackson, but they offer a free shuttle service. We took it both ways. The number for the free shuttle as of this posting is: 307-413-8121. The Bird was recommended to us by local bartenders at another restaurant and you could tell this was a favorite of locals. The place was packed Saturday evening. The bartenders and servers brought us into the fold and did not make us feel like outsiders, even though we were obviously tourists. I'll agree with what others have said, the burgers were up there with the best burgers I've ever had. They were tender and extremely flavorful. They had a lot of the standard burger combos (bacon cheddar, etc.) and then some unusual combinations, which was also a plus. I had the Filthy Harry, which I highly recommend. Their wings were also delicious. They offer a Trinidad Scorpion buffalo wing if you're a daredevil. Those were out of this world hot. They also had a good beer selection that included both local and European beers. During the summer, there is a huge deck out back that has a great view of the mountains.

BEST wings ever! Has the Sesame Ginger wings - medium spice - so YUMMY!!! Sat outside and was beautiful. Hamburger and attitude of staff was awesome. For sure will repeat and highly recommend.

  • James M.

What's all the fuss about? The log cabin setting is pleasant and the views from the deck are beautiful, but compete with stunning natural beauty in this part of the world. The bar seems to cater to locals who, when we were there, were very loud and vulgar. One fellow seemed convinced that the number of times he used the f-word he increased his appeal to others in the restaurant. The burgers are huge, double or triple normal size. Does one really need to eat a 9 oz or even 12 oz burger? As a result they are not evenly cooked..of course more rare in the center than the edges. The flavor was not outstanding. The accompanying cheese, mushrooms, and lettuce were not outstanding. The side dishes were average. The beer selection was good. This seems to be a popular place, but I would not go out of my way to sample their cuisine.

The place had a pretty cool vibe. We ended up here on a Sunday night after skiing at Jackson Hole. Somewhat dead in the bar. A little difficult to find and not super welcoming at first but the staff was all pretty cool and down to earth. Good advice on ordering the burgers (got mine medium) and it was amazing. I would definitely recoomend this place.

  • Adam C.

I will never ever get another "high end" burger again from fancy or even non-fancy restaurant again. This place has the best real burger I've ever had. No need to describe it as others already have. I will say they also have homemade fries that has perfect fried area to potato fluff and mouth suckering homemade pickles. Wings and Reuben are worth a shot as well. Just a tip for those burger lovers, immediately pick up your burger once you get it! Don't want the heat from the burger to steam the bottom bun- tragedy!

    (5)
  • Bill G.

Best burger on the planet, awesome vibe, amazing view off the patio, solid beer selection, friendly service. Good Lord, I wish I lived in Jackson. Do yourself a big favor and go easy on the toppings, you want to taste the meat, it's what a burger should be. The english muffin it's served on is perfect, it lets the burger rightfully be the star of the show. As an added bonus, the wings are pretty darn good as well. These folks take their food and fun seriously!!! Long live The Bird!!!

  • James K.

The Bird is hard to find, parking sucks, the décor is punch palace chic, bathrooms are better than an outhouse (barely), but it does have that Twilight Zone thing going on. We went there to eat based on the Yelpster's ratings, and eat we did, and very well thank you. Awesome food prepared with imagination and enthusiasm. Service was good but it was a little confusing having several people taking care of us. Overall we came away well fed and satisfied, our budget intact, and fairly amused to boot! 5 stars for sure if it wasn't for the access/parking shortcomings that are easily forgiven in my book. My priorities are food quality, value, adequate, functional service (not the kiss my rear end and dog and pony show stuff), reasonable cleanliness, flush toilets and a place to wash my hands, and no intestinal distress. If I'm ever in Jackson again, I'm there!

The best burger I have ever had ever and ive been everywhere. Get the one with fried egg on top. And if you go to Wyoming and don't eat here it was a waste of a trip. Great view and amazing food. If I go back to Wyoming it will only be to eat here again. Some day sigh

It lived up to the hype! I ordered the Philly cheese steak and it was phenomenal. My wife got a burger that was second to none! She said it was the best burger she's ever had. Service was great, beer was great would highly recommend the Bird!

Great view but I was a bit disappointed with the burgers. We ordered ours medium-well but both were nearly raw. I'd hate to see what the rare ones look like. Excellent fries - well cooked and not too big. It was a bit noisy near the bar but it was a Saturday evening so it's understandable. If you don't mind the sun in your eyes then get an outdoor table. You won't see many burgers joints with a view like that.

The place was not packed, but clearly was understaffed. Service was spotty, though friendly. I tried to order a Diet Pepsi to drink, but the owner told us he didn't serve diet soda because he thought it was poison. Poison? Sure, it's not healthy, but neither is the greasy, fried food he serves. Everything in moderation, dear sir. I reluctantly ordered a water. The glass was dirty when it arrived. Awesome. Husband ordered a beer. He was very excited to see their tap selection-- it had some of his favorite imports. Reading the menu, the owner sure does like to write. He rambles on and on about cooking meat the right way and that if you think you know how things should be cooked, that in fact you don't. I was kind of put off by it and I'm not even a meat connoisseur. He also justifies why he may be short-staffed. Apparently, business is unpredictable (welcome to running a business). Anyway, I ordered a Philly cheese steak (after seeing the picture on here) and my husband ordered a breakfast burger. These arrived after 45 minutes. Sadly, the table of four next to us was there before us and got their food about five minutes after us. During our wait, I really didn't see much food leaving the kitchen. The food was pretty stinking amazing, but very greasy (at least the cheese steak was). The pickles are clearly homemade as they were firm (cucumber firm) and tasted very cucumber-ey and super salty. Fries are also hand cut. Bacon was cooked, yet soft (perfect according to my picky husband). Parking was a pain. The restaurant appears to be nestled in an apartment complex, with many spots reserved for tenants only. We had to park around back. Prices were average. My cheese steak was $15, the breakfast burger was $10, and a pint of fancy beer was around $7. Overall, great food. Not sure it was worth the wait.

After reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant to try this place, especially on my birthday. It wasn't too busy when we got there, the only weird thing was all the tables on the patio seemed to be set up for big parties. We sat at the counter on the deck, which ended up being fine. We were greeted by a server almost immediately and shortly after had some cold beers in front of us. Food came out promptly and it was one of the best veggie burgers I've had. Service was prompt and friendly and the view wasn't too bad either. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Jackson.

This is a tough one to review. Love burger joints. Loved my burger, albeit on an English muffin.. ? Why not.. Was tasty for sure, I gobbled the whole thing up, 2 girls at the table weren't impressed , 2 boys loved it. Take that as you will. Their funny anecdotal menu is spot on, and take heed when they say RARE, they MEAN it! I ordered medium-rare, and that baby was darn near raw in he middle. BUT.. It CLEARLY states that on the menu.. I suggest the average joe order medium, if you are the slight bit squeamish, and it will still be very pink inside. That being said the service was excellent and friendly, we had one small issue of personal preference, and the manger without hesitation removed an item from the bill, even though no mistake was made. Wow. Class act. All in all I would go here again and again, just not with the girls.. Lol

Get a burger. some reviews didn't have great things about it but I loved mine. Why? Because it was different! Not fast food and not something you will see anywhere else. I really appreciated the disclaimers on the menu both about their burgers and the restaurant. It's definitely a local dive where regulars go to get smashed and have a good time, however I find that the cuisine is also quite above the average bar. And being In a tourist town like Jackson allows them to sport a higher price per dish, but honestly it's still not bad at all. Burgers are great if you have a taste for a better meat and something right from the grill. The menu literally says they don't use heat lamps at all as to give your food a speedy delivery from the grill and also time to allow it to cook even more. In my opinion the sandwiches are the best, but go try it out. I think you will enjoy it. Especially if you get to have that view of the mountains while you eat.

Visiting from Virginia staying w friends who are in town for a few months for work. This place has all I need. Fantastic food, excellent variety of beer and the laid back approach to service you want in JH, WY. If you are looking for a fast meal or lean to the "picky" side go somewhere else. Their product is awesome but there are no airs about them. Dogs are welcome and the sunset from the deck is breathtaking. I can see why this is the locals place and I hope it stays that way. James Brown accompanied our dinner tonight over the speakers and the servers are as handsome as they are laid back. Try it once and (like us) it will become your first choice in JH.

We were told this was a great, local hangout. But we needed to get there early or be expected to wait. So we went around 4:00pm on a Monday afternoon. There was no wait and the restaurant was less than half full. Our kids (ages 10 & 7) split a cheeseburger. The waitress told us that all of the burgers are cooked to a medium temperature, so if the kids wanted it cooked more towards well they should let it rest. Which they did. They enjoyed their burger! My wife ordered The Texan which came with a fried egg. I had a 9 oz Works, which included bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms. The Birds burgers are served on English Muffins. This hamburger was DELICIOUS!!!! The burger was so big and full of toppings, I took one bite and the burger EXPLODED onto my plate. I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. Between the four of us, there was NOTHING left on our plates! The beer was cold and the wait staff were genuine!

Pretty good spot with the deck and bar area as the main attraction - we were lucky enough to come during sunset time and enjoy it with a brew. Then bellied up to the bar and received good service from the bartender. They had a good beer selection and the burger selection on the menu is impressive. I was surprised no chicken burgers were available but oh well, a meat lovers paradise to be sure. They did have chicken wings which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also the salads were impressive as well. Good vibes and good food here at The Bird!

Stopped for lunch with our kiddos. Kids got bacon cheeseburgers, I got a patty melt and husband got the BBQ burger. Burgers were good. Fries were great. The BBQ burger was a bit gristly. Was on the pricey side though with a bill of $50 for 4 burgers, 2 iced teas and a lemonade. Probably ok for lunch with kids but wouldn't try dinner with them -- Looks to be more of a standard bar and grill. Menu is strange with A LOT of text on it. I was skimming it and got to a part about please pay with cash, basically because they don't want to pay the credit card fee - they go on to state how they've paid thousands of dollars in fees. Food was pretty good but not sure we'd go back..

After landing in Jackson Hole we were chatting with one of the guys working as a valet when it occurred to us to ask about his favorite burger place. Without missing a beat he said, "The Bird!" Kind of in the back of a strip center on the edge of town but it's worth tracking down. At only 4PM there wasn't a crowd yet. At first it looks like every other pub food place. But one look at the menu and these guys know what they're doing. Lots of burgers to choose from. If you don't want a burger, the choices are more limited. They take the time to tell you how to order your burger so it's just the way you want it when it's ready to eat. The menu is a hoot so take some time to read it. The draft beer selection was excellent. Hadn't heard of an oyster stout before and had to give it a try. Quite good. Really, quite good in fact. The wife's margarita was so-so ... but then we're from San Antonio so our expectations are high. We should have made time for a second visit while there!!!

I agree with Bill G. that this is the best burger on the planet. I am from Houston and we have access to an amazing selection of burger joints. This place beats them hands down. I love the english muffin bun. The service was great, fast, and friendly. The beer was ice cold. They even have gluten free buns. This is place is awesome.

This place opened up near my house last spring, I have been eating here since. BY FAR the best burgers in Jackson Real good food, strong drinks, cool staff, great crowd. Glad they are here.

Didn't love it, but didn't hate it. It's a cool environment which obviously serves as a local hangout for younger people, with pool tables and an active bar. The food was good and the service was friendly, but mediocre -- at $3 soft drink/tea, I would expect a lot more attention to the fullness of my glass instead of having to stare at the thirsty ice cubes at the bottom of my cup for half of my meal, but maybe that's just me... If you like Phish, Burning Man, Chacos, spicy language, gourmet burgers, an amazing view while you eat and a bartender that sounds like The Dude, you'll love this place. If paying $33+tip for two sandwiches with fries + two soft drinks would make your wallet feel like it had just been molested as mine had, than this is probably not the place for you.

After all the rave reviews sorely disappointed. From the moment we seated ourselves, we felt rushed. Rushed to make drink choices and then rushed to make food choices. Ordered wings first. Very saucy. And, just ok. Definitely nothing special. Ordered burgers since that's supposed to be their specialty. Again, ok. Nothing special. Maybe because of the dinky buns?In an "old school bar and kitchen" I guess we expected old school flavor and style? Lastly, and most importantly, visitors apparently are not welcome...! Strongly recommend you spend your $$ where the food is good, the atmosphere is good and the staff is friendly. Won't be back.

We purposely will treat ourselves by driving 90 miles one way to visit the Bird for lunch. It is a beautiful drive and the food is amazing...the french dip....to die for. Burgers and brats are fantastic. Atmosphere is fun, casual and staff is always polite. The view....breathtaking....can't wait to check out the new deck furniture today....My husband asked where I wanted to go for Mother's Day, knowing I would say....the Bird....

Our party of 6 tourists loved this place - very much worth the drive off the beaten path! Their snarkily written menu yet friendly service were very much appreciated. Highly recommended wings, super cold beers and burgers and fries. If you have a really "healthy" appetite, check out the HUGE and delicious schnitzel!

Wonderful wonderful burgers!! Served on English muffins with a wide variety of selections! I had the barbecue burger which was absolutely amazing. My step dad had the Philly which he said was also wonderful. Great choice overall, wonderful environment, not bad pricing.

I eat at the Bird frequently in the summer with my wife and other shooting instructors. We love the atmosphere, the excellent burgers (the Dirt C is best) and the blue cheese is amazing! Service is good and the beer is served in traditional German style of only slightly cool. Great selection of fancy German beers but I prefer the pale ale.

This is a special place. Great draft beer selection, and excellent burgers. I enjoy the fact that the burgers come in two sizes--a normal sized pub burger, and a smaller size that is about half that. Service was perfect, and the atmosphere was somehow chill and high energy at the same time. Fries are amazing. On top of all that, the view from the back deck has got to be one of the best there is--it's hard to beat the Teton range.

The best of the best for Burgers ! You have already hear ten thousand times about the best burger, i know ! But, listen, this ONE is the ONE ! Amazing beef, great topings, awesome fries. That is a very good burger ! The beer are great too, and the service is very very friendly ! Take care of the wings, hot means hot ! Mild is already kind of hottish... And if you cannot drive to go home : There is a Free Shuttle door to door. So go to this very cute bar restaurant, it is a 5 minutes drive from the center but you wont regret it.

The first time I went to this place I woud have given it 5 stars, the food was excellent and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Because I have primarily positive feelings toward this place, I'll start with the good. The burgers are great. Seriously. Now that Billy's is gone we had to find a new burger place, and we happened upon The Bird. We were all pleased that we found such a great replacement and wished we'd known about it sooner. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of (the first time). Great beer selection, too! Not so true the second time. This time I brought my parents since they were visiting. First off, the waitress could not have appeared to care less about taking care of us. This didn't bother me at first, I know the world doesn't revolve around us so whatever. But from there it only got worse. She brought our burgers and my mother bit into hers only to find it was still rare inside! She told the waitress whose only response was, "Ok?" Then she just stared at my mom. Eventually she asked, "What do you want me to do about it?" Then blamed my mom for ordering it medium, that's why it came the way it did. Well, my dad and I also ordered medium and ours were fine. So, not really, sweetheart. After the waitress took the burger back into the kitchen so a new one could be made we never saw our waitress again. Well, except for the fact she was sitting at the bar texting, and drinking a beer. She never asked if we needed another drink, if the food was ok the second time...nothing. She straight up ignored us. Even as she walked past our table, grabbed the spare chair without a word, and dragged it to a nearby table to chat with friends. She was unbelievably horrible and rude. I've never seen a waitress like her. But thank goodness for the other waiter who was there. He took care of us the rest of our time there and he was fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't remember names very well so I can't say who it was that was amazing and who sucked... I was pretty disappointed that I'd bragged about this place and this was the experience my parents had. I would never say don't go to this place. Go! The food is great. Just get enough beers (assuming your waitress brings them!) to make you not care about the fact your waitress may ignore you the rest of the night.

I can't seem to figure out where they came up with the name, I mean this is a bar with burgers to write home to mom about. But why bird? I digress. Don't go here and get a steak. While I am sure the steak is memorable the move here is the burger. I had two 4oz burgers with cheddar served on an English muffin (good call!) with their house cut fries. Righteous meal. If you want a casual greasy delicious burger, this is the place... Nothing foo foo here!

Went there for St. Party's Day 2013, so the crowd was a little more, shall we say, rambunctious than usual. But we got there early before the crowds hit and I had one of the best burgers I've had in a while, the Breakfast Burger. Like others, I was pleased with the food and drink selection - I love drinking local brews. Sat through a snowstorm blowing through only to see it clear up for a beautiful view off the back porch. Played pool for hours on end with some people we met there. Overall a great time. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went to The Bird for dinner on a snowy friday night, and it was a great meal with awesome value for our money. This place really turned out to be a fun joint. We were slightly hesitant only because we kept hearing people complain that is was really expensive for "just burgers". Well they aren't like any other burgers you're likely going to see out there, and really... is $9 dollars for a gourmet burger and hand-cut fries expensive? C'mon, I don't think so. The burgers are ground fresh in-house and come with a variety of interesting toppings and served on english muffins! Now that almost threw me for a minute, until I took a bite! It's such a good idea and really you can probably cut a few calories since you're not consuming an obnoxious, oversized bun of some kind. I had "The John Scott"...with white Vermont cheddar cheese. Hubby had "The Breakfast Burger"...bacon and egg. We both were very happy and able to finish every last bite. That is another good thing, the sizes are just right. Didn't have any drinks, but there was a bar area with ski bums watching the X-Games on the projection screen TV. We may or may not be back to try our hand at the thursday poker night, but if not I know we'll be back for another great dinner!

Truly fantastic burgers. They grind their own meat and the flavor is fantastic. Sandwiches come with tasty homemade garlic pickles and really good fresh cut fries. Great beer selection and the staff are super laid back. Perfect post-skiing meal. Also they will come and pick you up as it is a little out of the way. We got picked up and dropped off for free in Teton village.

Hands down one the worst dining experiences I have had...EVER! Service was horrible...our waitress was so rude I was speechless. Burgers were RAW...not medium (pink inside)...RAW! I wouldn't recommend anything about this restaurant.

Without doubt the best burger in America if not the World. The only rival might be The Bird in Berlin, Germany. Since this is the same owner, I'll stand by my assertion. Making good on a promise, I drove 950 miles to eat here. It didn't disappoint. It never does. If you're in Jackson Hole or anywhere close, this place is a must.

This was honestly the best place to eat anywhere in the area. In fact, my wife and I still consider it perhaps the best overall restaurant we've ever been to. The service was phenomenal, and the sandwiches and burgers were out of this world. As a craft beer lover, their beer selection was incredible, and we're counting down the days that we get to eat here again.......if only we didn't live in New Jersey :(

The best burger in Jackson, hands down. Incredible view off the back deck, best beer selection in the Southern Valley, the fries are bafflingly good, and the wings and sandwiches are amazing as well. Not enough good things to say about this place. Do yourself a favor and take the extra 5 minute to drive a little south of town and check out The Bird.

Found this place while backpacking in GTNP. Amazing selection of burgers and they are out of this world; best beef in a burger I've had. The beer selection is outstanding as well. And the wings...oh, the wings! It's away from all the tourists and a ways outside of town, but definitely worth the drive.

Hands down the best beer and hamburgers anywhere, much less Jackson Hole. Throw in a no-nonsense menu, friendly staff and patrons, an awesome view on the outdoor patio, and you pretty much landed in paradise.

Well, the burger was really good. But it was about 5 bites and gone! I got a 9oz. burger and it was served on an English Muffin. No kidding. A 9 oz piece of beef fit on an English Muffin! Fries were great. All of this for $15.90. I had plenty of room left to go to the yogurt place for dessert.

The burgers!!! OMG. SO freaking good! The beef is ground on site each am. The fries are hand cut. The drinks are strong. The service was good. The owner was on site and very attentive. The locals were very nice, and this place looks/feels very cool for a late night cocktail place.

I don't give many places 5 stars because I think there is always room for improvement. But, The Bird is near perfect for a casual, comfortable place to eat good food. I cannot believe it has taken us so long to eat there but we did last night and it was outstanding. The mild wings we tried were very crispy with just enough kick for me and the blue cheese dressing which came with them was delicious. Then came our entrees. I read a long time ago that a person will taste the potato on a plate before anything else. Well, I tasted the french fries and Yum, they were great. Then I tried my hamburger and it exceeded my expectations and lemme tell you!!! I had some big expectations from what friends had told me and what I read on line. Everyone was helpful and we even think Gregg came out to visit with everyone. The man didn't have a name tag on but..... Also, very accomodating for lingering guests. I didn't feel as if I had to hurry and get out of anyones way. Great place. Go try it.

We had dinner at the Bird and found it to be exactly what we needed after a day-long drive - delicious food on an outdoor deck with an incredible view (on a beautiful day no less). The Slue burger was juicy and flavorful, the Caesar's salad was good, the schnitzel was tasty, the mashed potatoes were amazing. My only regret was that we wimped out on the buffalo wings and ordered medium instead of our usual "hot as you can" approach. So, don't let the reviews here scare you - if you are someone who really likes spicy food, go for the hot version!

Gregg is hilarious, the german beer is delicious, and the burgers/fries are absolutely amazing. It was raining the day we went, but they have an awesome patio with views of the mountains for sunny days. Definitely worth the short drive south of town.

OK this place is quirky fun. The first cool thing our kids noticed is all of the paragliders flying off of the hill nearby. That may be where the name "The Bird" comes from. Food was mostly gourmet burgers. They mention in the menu that they take credit cards but prefer cash. The balcony in the back is awesome view but looking straight into the sun sucked a bit. Obviously watching the sunset involves having the sun in your face. This is really a bar with awesome food that puts up with kids around. Rough language in the menu for some small kids but ours dug it. If you are touchy about that sort of thing...not the place for you. Great prices and truly one of a kind burgers. Fresh ingredients across the board. Our tween and teen boys said they were two of the best burgers they had ever had...and they eat a lot of burgers! I would not stop in Jackson without eating here! Inside there was a really nice airy sunny bar and a few pool tables.

Downtown Jackson has just what most tourists need...but if you are looking for a place that has 50% locals, 50% out of towners and better prices than downtown, try The Bird. Once you get over the drive (which by the way is minimal), this place is off the hook. We walked in during mid-afternoon and walked in on Greg (the owner) and his prep cook experimenting with Mole' (a spicy Mexican dish that is similar to stew). We started salivating and Greg promptly served some up for us as an appetizer. I'm a little bit of a burger snob, I like Five Guys and In-N-Out depending on my mood, but wow, that may have been the best burger I've ever had. I had the The Dirty Burger, which is on an English muffin, with an egg and pickled beets. I know, crazy right? It was UNREAL! Others in my party had the Brats, and the Reuben, with potato salad. Greg overheard that were going to climb the Grand Teton the next day. We asked for a recommendation for a good Italian restaurant, the SA suggested 2 places in New York (where he is from) since it's hard to find good Italian in the west. He then pointed out that he does a little Italian from time to time. Long story short, Greg went out that night and bought the ingredients for one of the finest Italian meals I've ever eaten. Greg is the real deal, the bomb, the man. I'm out of superlatives and my man-crush is now public. I'm not a big drinker but this place is fun, local, and super-good. Please don't go if you are lame, wound too tight, or prefer the high prices downtown. The rest of you, I'll see you at the Bird!
