I had the chili relleno burrito. The chips and salsa were excellent. This is a remarkably good Mexican restaurant in Evanston Wyoming. The serving was huge. It was enough for two people. The black beans with cheese were well done and excellent and the fried rice was very tasty. Recommended.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating however, the food is not that great. I've stopped by here once and wasn't impressed with the food but I decided to give it another try. Same result. Most of the food is just bland. The bean dip was plain and all the food seems like it doesn't have any spices. I don't think I will be coming back.

Arrived on a Thursday evening for dinner. Place was almost empty. My server seemed very unhappy to be there. Just love having someone wait on me that seems annoyed by my presence. Margarita was really good. Food was okay. I don't think there's many dinner options in this town.

The servers were not too friendly. This is a highly recommended local place. See this enchilada Especial de la Casa. The sauce was not good. It tasted burnt. The place was clean and nicely decorated. Parking lot was very marginal, potholes and not set up properly for parking. Update: It's 5 days later....we ate here while travelling on a long trip, it made us nauseated for about 48 hrs. Yuck. So it tasted inferior and made us feel bad so just keep looking for a better place to eat.

We decided to try this place while passing through wyoming- we were a bit worried because there were 9 reviews but we tried it anyway. We ordered the chicken fajitas and enchiladas ala creme. The chips and salsa were very good (beans were a bit underseasoned). The fajitas came out sizzling hot and very well seasoned and the chicken was still very moist! The enchiladas came out hot and had great flavor and the creme sauce on top was really good. Only complaint- the bus boy checked on us more than our waitress....she checked on us one time and never even offered us refills (-1 star for inattentive waitress and her poor attitude****). We would come back.

We got some late-night take-out at Don Pedro's to bring back to our family, staying at the (crappy, see my review) Motel 6 up the road. We didn't expect much. It was late, we were hungry, and we didn't want Domino's Pizza. It was actually GOOD. Like, really good. Like, surprisingly good! Like, worth a road-stop if you're driving across America (or, in our case, from California to Denver or vice versa)! Bookmark it, people. It's far, far better than the nasty fast food you've probably been eating along the way. It's not too pricey, and you get a TON of food for the money. Seriously, have your kids split a meal. It's a lot of food, and it's not like you're going to take the leftovers in your car for later. Just kidding. We totally took the leftovers in our car for later. The salsa is phenomenal, by the way. And the asada tacos RULE.

Excellent food and superb service. We've been past here several times, but never thought much of it. However, after making a quick trip to Evanston, we decided to give this place a try....I am glad we did. I had the huevos rancheros, it was delicious. The cjips came with a fabulous salsa, full of flavor, and it came with homemade bean dip. I know where we will be stopping again, when passing through Evanston!

Friendly service, delicious food, outstanding drinks, and great atmosphere. If I am ever in Evanston Wyoming again this will be the place I will eat.

This was the first time for me. The food was hot & fast but a little bland. However, the salsa was amazing! So much, in fact, I added it to my food & it was a party!

My husband and I went here for dinner tonight after a somewhat long travel day. I read reviews and decided to give them a chance even though there weren't many recent reviews. They were friendly and slow paced. We received chips and salsa and queso right away with drinks and ordering to follow (took a little while but like I said they are slow paced). My husband was very happy with his carne asada burrito and I had the combo taco and enchilada which was very good as well. We would recommend eating here, just don't expect "fast food", slow down and enjoy yourself!

We have driven through Wyoming to go to Colorado a couple of times. The second time around on our road trip we really looked forward to another trip to Don Pedro's. We were so disappointed on our second visit, we had our same waiter that we had the previous time or year ago and about 20 minutes into our lunch, our waiter disappeared. We had to track down another server to ask what happened to our server. She said that he went home. We were shocked. He was such a good waiter the last time. Then we ordered something to go and we waited another 20 minutes to get our to go order. Our new waitress never even brought us the food, the bus boy had to bring it to us. The second time around was awful service. The shrimp fajitas have broccoli and Cauliflower in it, yuck.

I'm pretty hesitant to new Mexican restaurants as they can be hit and miss. Thankfully I was taken by surprise at this hit of a restaurant. I thought it was great food, good price and nice staff (even though it was cinco de mayo and way busy). Nevertheless, I would definitely stop by here again while passing through Evanston.

We were on our way home to California from a bus tour to So. Dakota. This place was not included in our itinerary but we needed a place to eat lunch. Most of us were Mexican-American and hadn't eaten Mexican food for over a week. The food was outstanding. I recommend the chile rellenos and the chile verde. There were over 50 people in all and everybody had a positive experience.

I suggest ordering the enchilada suizas or arroz con pollo. Both are extremely delish!

This location is just the opposite of the other location in town, At this location the service sucked and the food was good. It was an interesting twist to the Molcajete but I liked it! I don't think they got all the bleach cleaned off the spout on the soft drink dispenser it tasted a little too clean.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
