Good for the price. Small atmosphere and friendly service. Much better than the Taco Johns or Arby's across the street. It's the best Mexican food in town.

Take this with a grain of salt.... I'm from deep South Texas and know what Mexican food taste like and I've had lots of bad Mexican food also. We ate here on a busy Sunday night and had to wait which is understandable to be seated. Chips, salsa and re-fried beans were promptly brought to our table. We also promptly sent the chips back for being so stale it was like rubber. Our replacement chips were hot but also stale after cooling.

Heard this was good Mexican food. The menu is extensive, but unfortunately the staff is a bunch of teens/young adults that A) don't know the menu B) their on their phones and roll their eyes when they need to wait on the customers. C) there was a birthday and they had to sing, the staff was mad and did not care. It was so obvious. They would have been better off sending a free desert. To sum it up horrible service that took way to long to get the check. Your better off going to taco johns next door.

Had dinner here with some friends and we thought the food and service were both very good. Had the Santana Special which is a boat load of food. The restaurant itself needs a DEEP cleaning. The floors, decor and bathrooms are in bad shape. However, if you can get past some grease and dirt the food is very good.

Went here for dinner after it was recommended to us by the clerk at our hotel. There seemed to be quite a few vehicles outside so we thought we'd give it a try. Run by a bunch of incredibly rude high schoolers. Acted inconvenienced by showing us to our table, then only saw the waitress to order our food and then again when she brought us the bill. Tacos were ok, salsa was the only thing we liked, enchiladas were terrible and gave me an upset stomach later that night! Just don't go there, stick with Taco Bell or anything else!

We just came back from a dinner at this restaurant. I have to say that the Chili Relleano was the worst I have ever had in any Mexican restaurant both in Wyoming and California. The ground beef in taco was worse than Taco Bell. The only thing positive is that they gave you a huge portion. The chili verde was pretty good.

Little new girl Working the floor new so not that bad drink order was awesome fast the first time . ran outta chips took ten minutes to get more had the beef fajitas didn't work well at all. bland food if it didn't take ten minutes to get a beer after I finished my first one it would have rated 3 stars damn I thought I would've liked this place allot slow service and mediocre food best Mexican you can get in Douglas. Recommendation order a beer and eat chips and salsa all night Better option. If you Get a second beer before ten minutes.

Disgusting. Taco Johns would have tasted better and 1/5 the price. I paid $30 for a pitcher of margaritas that only tasted like the mix and no alcohol. What a gip!! Food was mediocre and service left MUCH to be desired.

I work out of town a lot and have been to a lot of good restaurants. This time I am in Douglas WY at La Costa. The chips fresh salsa was good and the service was average. As far as the food goes I had the taco salad with shredded beef. There was too much lettuce in the salad and the shredded beef tasted burnt. I also had the chicken taquitos and they were good the chicken was fresh the chicken taquitos could have been a meal in its own. Too big a portion. I would say the food fell shy of good authentic Mexican food. Would probably not eat here again.

Stopping in town overnight, we were impressed with the reviews and decided La Costa would be worth a visit. What can I say except it was not impressive at all. Staff were all high school kids who seldom ventured past our table to see if we needed anything, because they were in a cluster up front goofing off. The food was bland at best, they forgot part of my order, and by the time I finally snagged our waiter to ask for it, and it was prepared and brought to our table the rest of our meal was over. Poor service and poor food equals nothing here to make us want to return or recommend it to anyone.

This is a nice exception to the rule in Douglas, the place where flavor comes to die. The portions are quite large, the chips are always fresh, and the salsa is delicious. When I get the burritos they usually end up soggy by the time they get to me. The service is always prompt and friendly. Good? Definitely. Really good? Sure. Fantastic? Not really. I'd absolutely bring someone here for dinner if they were visiting, as it's one of the better places in town.

This place sucks. Horrible food. Horrible service. It just peer sucks. The owner makes fun of America and likes the STEELERS. I'd rather eat dog poop. Oh wait when I eat there I already am. Just just WOW. Nobody go here.

Are you frickin' kidding me? This place in no way is acceptable. Yelpers you mislead. I think it's better to go to Taco John's across the street---even though I've never been-- or just wait 'til the next town.

The manager is the coolest guy in town. Its a small place but the food is well worth it. Great staff, service, and prices. Best place to eat in town, without a doubt.

Consistently good. We're lucky to have it as its pretty much the first place I would take anyone who's never been to Douglas out to eat. We're all at La Costa all the time. The salsa really is such a delicious chunky cilantroy experience and the margaritas are always yummy. The portions are pretty much huge and its a great place for a group to get together and have a good time. Plus, the wait time is almost nothing! Even when they're busy! (Which they often are.)

La Costa is by FAR the best restaurant in Douglas. They serve great food at light speed and their salsa is absolutely to-die-for. Luckily they keep it coming with free and abundant refills of the chips and salsa appetizers. Be sure to make good friends with the manager, Jose, and he will ensure that you are "happy" (and sometimes a little more than just happy) and that a great time is had by all! On a side note, the margaritas are on the huge side, but you wouldn't know it by the extremely reasonable prices. Try the "Cadillac Margarita" for a top-shelf tequila treat!

We tried this place because of the good reviews. It was nothing like what we read. Terrible service. Probably because the waiter was at the check in playing video games. I have NEVER heard of a Mexican restaurant run out of cheese. Food left both of us with indigestion. The ONLY thing good was the salsa...but man can not live on salsa alone.

Always go with the coffee shop and/or restaurant with the most pickup trucks in the parking lot. You'll either have great food, a great story about food, or both. La Costa was packed when we got there, travelling through to South Dakota. Great beer, the enchiladas were pronounced by my husband to be "the best I've ever had". Coming from Central California, we KNOW good Mexican food, La Costa has it!

I went to La Costa on the recommendation from the ladies at the Chamber of Commerce. This is a great little Mexican eatery. At 7pm on a Wednesday, it was very busy, but I got seated right away. Service was fast. Prices were very reasonable. Enchiladas very good. Staff very attentive. Dress very casual. I was very pleased, and will surely be back.

I have lived here for years and come back often! Whenever I go to other Mexican restaurants I compare them to La Costa! And so far no one can beat LA COSTA!! They always have friendly staff and their food is always HOT & made just as you ordered it! Highly recommend this restaurant. I have several friends that visit from out of town just to get some GOOD mexican food ;)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
