By far the best in Cheyenne for Korean food. The kimchee is seasonal but worth the wait! Fast and friendly, the Be Bimbop is a must order especially if you dont know where to start

The food was good. The ladies lagged at me trying to orders he bim bop. They had tasty strange small drinks. The kimchi was delicious. The egg rolls a huge and tasty. They no longer have done in. Only take out.

As of July 20, 2015 everything is take out. No service at the restaurant any more. So no sit downs. We could smell the food from the street where we parked. It is very hard to find good Korean food anywhere. But I could just tell by the smell that the food would be delicious. After arriving back home we discovered the amazing tastes of our meals. The small scoop of Kim Chi was very spicy and the hot sauce packaged along with the food was out there... but I thought it tasted great, but something that spicy isn't for everyone. I had the Be Bim Bop with chicken and my wife had the Bulgogi. We both shared our meals and we thought the beef was a little over cooked, but tasty. The chicken I had with mine was a little on the dry side, but after adding the spicy sauce, I didn't really notice. We will go back again, but this time we will order ahead so we don't have to wait. We asked why they stopped serving in the restaurant and was told they just couldn't do it anymore. Well, as long as I can order ahead, I don't mind taking it home and eating it. I'm looking forward to trying the dumplings and the egg rolls.

Delicious bulgogi and ban chan! The restaurant is small but food is great and service is awesome. Nice little family owned restaurant.

Very tasty Korean food! Like many other Yelpers, I was quite surprised to find a quality Korean restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming. But what a find! I will definitely be back the next time I am in town. This is a very simple hole-in-the-wall type of establishment. No credit cards, only cash and local checks. The menu is not extensive, so don't be expecting jajangmyeon, jampong, bubbling cauldrons of spicy tofu soup, or cast-iron bowls with deliciously seared rice stuck to the sides. We're talking no frills bulgogi, chicken, bibimbap, and some simpler noodle dishes. That being said, the food is very good! I ordered beed bibimbap. The portions were very generous, and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I ate the entire bowl along with the kimchee and pickled veggies that came with it. The spicy sauce on the table was also very delicious and flavorful.

Had this the other night and was really good. I had the Beef Bim bop also had dumpling/ egg roll which was fantastic! I would suggest carrying cash they don't take cards.

My wife is Korean. I liked this place. --- END OF REVIEW --- P.S. Really surprised that there was good Korean food in Wyoming. That'd be like finding good Wyoming food in Korea.

Excellent food and very friendly service. The restaurant is a great, homey Korean place that would be great anywhere, not just as a last resort in the middle of the high plains. My husband and I are fans of Korean food and thought everything was great (we ordered spicy pork and bibimbap, respectively). My parents who are much less adventurous had never had Korean before and both loved it (beef Bulgogi and mondoo dumplings). My dad even suggested it as a place to take me the next time I visited and it was just as good on the second visit. Besides the entrees, the kimchi and banchan were all among the best I have eaten. For vegetarians: I ordered the bibimbap without meat and they gave me an extra egg. I later learned that you can also get tofu in this and other dishes. One note: they only accept cash or check.

I am a huge fan of Korean food and this place definitely has that "mom's in the kitchen" vibe going on. Kind of a crack in the wall place, meaning that there is limited seating but the food is made fresh and comes out quickly. Perfect for a lunch stop. Good prices for the quantity of food that you get here and I haven't had anything I didn't like yet. They do offer some safe choices for those that haven't experienced much in this genre. Try out the spicy chicken dish if you fall into this category. If you don't, go for the Bibimbap. Rice bowl with veggies and comes with a fried egg on top....Mmmmm. All the meals are served with a side of Kimchi (spicy cabbage salad) and an interesting Jimica salad.

  • Jessica S.

Surprised to find this here, but it was pretty delicious. Warning, however, that even if you are accustomed to eating spicy food regularly, "spicy" here is QUITE spicy. No punches pulled here. Even my dad seemed a bit bowled over when he finished his dish, which is pretty impressive.

  • Christine T.

It's a lovely hole in the wall, family operated restaurant. The cook is fantastic on making traditional Korean dishes come alive to create the ultimate korean experience. I love that she keeps the dishes as traditional as they are meant to be, but adds in a slight American flare. Serving sizes are well suited, similar to a grandmother who never let's her grandchildren go hungry. So know that you will leave satisfied. They take cash, but with their prices and amount of food I'm not complaining. Happy eating!

Quite possibly the best meal in Cheyenne and definitely some of the best Korean fare I've had this side of Seoul. When one considers the price and the fact that everything is homemade, Korean House is a hidden gem! It's a tiny place with only 8 or 9 tables, so it can be packed in a hurry and because its just a little ma 'n pa place with the same folks prepping meals and waiting tables, it can take a bit to get your meal if they're busy, but it's worth the wait. The Kim Chee is available in 3 homemade varieties and is sold in bulk for take out in addition to being a side item with each entree. It is delicious. The freshly made Mondoo dumplings are available either fried or steamed. They were served piping hot and were filled with a beef mince. They were tasty! The Be Bim Bop is a great choice since it has a potpourri of flavors. The contrasting tastes of fresh sliced Daikon radish, cucumber, sliced pork, bean sprouts and steamed rice topped by a beautifully fried egg all complimented each other. As a condiment, the red bean paste sauce added a bit of a kick, but not as much as a Sriracha would. Instead it had a deeper flavor instead of heat. Great stuff! If you're in Cheyenne, definitely do make this a meal stop, but beware - they are a cash only business! No credit or ATM cards are accepted. The prices are so reasonable, cash shouldn't be an issue.

To start off, I am 100% Korean and just came from a 2 1/2 year tour from Seoul, Korea. The hubby and I were traveling from Seattle to DC and came across this awesome find. Sometimes I get a hankering for some comfort food and we decided to come here. Granted it's a bit small and outdated but the food was amazing. The two dishes that I use to judge a good Korean restaurant are yukaejang and bibingnangmyeon. Mess these two up and I'm out faster that you can say "the red coats are coming". Any way, the yukaejang was phenomenal. Perfect balance of spice, meat and vegetables. And the bibingnangmyeon was on par with some of the best nangmyeon houses in Seoul and dare I say...better! The portions are huge and the banchan (side dishes aka the kimchi and bean sprouts) were yummy and fresh. And when we paid, the ajumma came out and said hello to us. She was really sweet and I told her how close her food was to my mother's. It was really THAT good. I would highly recommend this place if you love authentic Korean food.

Great food and friendly atmosphere. Exceed expectation. Bibimbap was excellent. Professionally made and taste was better than one from some of Korean restaurants in the major cities. Highly recommend.

    (5)
  • Mark E.

Great little Korean restaurant. There are two options, you can order at the window for take out or you can sit down for table service. The food was good. The restaurant was a bit small, so I would imagine the seats fill up quickly during the lunch or dinner rush. The only major issue....no Fountain drinks, so you pay $1.50 for a can of Coke. :(

    (4)
  • Jessica B.

Loved this place. Definitely authentic. This is a small mom's and pop's store so they are making everything fresh and may take some time but is worth the wait.

A Korean restaurant in Cheyenne? Sounds crazy right? Well, after reading the reviews of this place on Yelp, I knew we had to check it out on our trip across the country. And I'm happy to report that unlike many Asian restaurants you'll find in small towns across America, this place is actually good. And it's actually run by Korean people. We got the bibimbap and the bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles, perfect for summertime). Both were delicious. We also tried the steamed dumplings (mandu) which were kind of gross. Seriously, I know it is tempting to get these but definitely skip them. The wrapper was way too thick and the filling was pretty much just ground beef. Way too Americanized for my taste. They also sell kimchi by the bucketful as well as some Korean soft drinks. Korean House is a bright spot in the sad culinary scene that is Cheyenne.

  • Allen C.

Just like in Rawlins, I did not expect to find good Asian food in Wyoming. But I needed a place in Cheyenne to eat dinner and the best match Yelp gave me was this place. I ordered the bibimbap and my friend got the bulgogi. They were perhaps the most generous portions I have ever seen a Korean restaurant give. Quality was great too, comparable to Korean food we have in California. I wish they provided more banchan though; they only provided three small dishes when other Korean places will always give you at least double that. Service is a bit slow, however. It took a while for the food to come out. There were only two women working at the restaurant when we came in, and they may have been a bit distracted by the Korean drama they were watching in the kitchen. Also, it seems they may play some favoritism to other Asians, especially their fellow Koreans. We ordered long before another group (Koreans) came into the place but they got their food just as fast as us, and they actually got condiments sooner. Meanwhile, the other people in the place weren't even given banchan until after our food was out but they didn't come that much longer after the Korean group did.

Great little family run restaurant. Every thing is cooked fresh. The portions are very ample; unless I share with my husband, I usually bring home leftovers. Have yet to try something we didn't like. The mondoo, whether fried or steamed are scrumptious. I have little experience with Korean food, but I feel like we are getting a home cooked meal.

    (4)
  • Sasi S.

Darn, forgot to take pictures. Food was fresh and very good. We had bi bem bop, beef bulgugi, and the fried mondoo. The owner, a Korean woman, was soooo nice. She came and checked on us repeatedly and would make jokes. Would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

  • Heather B.

I absolutely adore this place. No, it's not a swanky Korean restaurant in a big city, but it's delicious, fresh, healthy and the best food in Cheyenne, IMHO. I've been working my way through the menu, and haven't had a bad dish yet. Everything is right around $10, and most of entrees have enough food involved for a snack or second meal later. Great value, nice folks, wonderful food.

    (5)
  • Jezebel A.

Seriously the best mondoo dumplings and the bi bim bop was the boppiest ever. YUMMMMMMY

  • Luis R.

I lived in S. Korea and have been eating Korean food for a long time. I lived in NYC, San Antonio and Germany, and was always able to find the perfect Korean restaurant. Now I'm in Cheyenne and found this only Korean place in town. The Bibimbop was good and maybe the only reason to come back. Mandoo was not close to what I've had before...a 3 out of 10. Chicken bulgogi was a 4 out of 10, and the kimbop a 5. The menu is limited, not sure if they make any other of the great Korean goodies. It was my first visit, so I'll see how next time goes and update this review.

  • W R.

This may be the best place in Cheyenne, but the food was just average. We are glad we went, but based on the previous reviews, we were disappointed. I guess I would suggest that you lower your expectations, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I haven't had this good of Korean food since Gina's Korean BBQ in Hawaii...and this one's in Cheyenne, Wyoming of all places! Lovely little hole-in-the-wall!

  • Gary E.

So incredible! Made the trip off the freeway and it was SO worth it! Very friendly and encouraged us to dine-in even though we arrived 20 minutes before close.

  • Steve T.

Korean home style food. Mondoo was crispy with a hint of sweet. Filled full of beef. Better than any won ton. Cold summer noodle soup was awesome. Pickled veggies round out the dish. Kim Chee is the best this side Hawaii. Friendly family owned business. A must stop in Cheyenne, WY.

  • Jordan K.

If you love Korean food this is the place. What a gem! Super friendly staff and service, although their dining area is rather small so I usually just order carry out. You get huge portions at a decent price. Only complaint would be their hours, wish they were open more.

  • Elke B.

I have to say, I've never found a Korean restaurant so willing to make their items vegetarian! It was delicious!! We ordered takeout, and we ate the second half of our meal the next day. So good and healthy and tasty. And everyone was so friendly, too. And, as an aside, they make their own soy sauce, which is incredible. I can't wait to go back!

    (5)
  • J D.

We've eaten here numerous times and have never been disappointed. I think we are over halfway through the menu and it is all delicious. It sometimes gets taken off of the "lunch list" because it is cash only, but feel free to hit an ATM and enjoy!

  • Ryan W.

In the capital city of Wyoming, you won't expect to find Korean food. Being an Asian, I can't live my everyday with just American food, got to have some Rice Fix. This is the place for it!

    (5)
  • Kirsten R.

This is the BEST restaurant in Cheyenne. Period. And this is probably the best, most authenic Asian food I've had in all of Northern Colorado/Wyoming. I just moved here from Cali and I feel I've just found your traditional hole-in-the-wall, only you know about it, delicious Korean restaurant!! Truly amazing.

Agree with every review above and below. Dishes are seasoned pretty well. Service is like 25 mins wait before my dishes came out.

  • Bryan B.

Wow, authentic Korean food in....Cheyenne?! This place is great. We just visited for the first time yesterday and were wildly impressed. First, don't judge by the outside. It looked a little sketchy, but inside the service was very friendly and the food was fantastic. (I think if they just re-painted the sign it would look 10 times more appealing.) We started with some fried dumplings...mmm. And had a spread of Kim Chi, bean sprouts, rice, and sesame spinach. For main courses I had the beef ribs (very yummy short ribs), my wife had the friend rice (topped with a big ol' pan of eggs, very tasty and a very large potion), and my buddy had beef Bulgogi (I think) that was really tasty too). Portions were very big and well worth the roughly $10 a plate, I would definitely make the drive to eat here again. Be warned, you cannot pay with a credit or debit card, but there is a gas satiation across the street with an ATM.

  • Carol M.

Good food, very clean, but expect to smell like Korean food for the rest of the day and night. I suppose that as it is a little house that any exhaust system is a luxury. Won't be back even though the food was good.

    (2)
  • Moseh C.

If you want good food look no further, yes the parking is on the street and there can be a small wait but it is totally worth it. The kalbi tang is a hearty soup and made authentically by the very sweet employees. The dukk bok ki is spicy and delicious. The be bim bap is a classic Korean dish, can't go wrong.

    (5)
  • Bradford L.

Good Korean food in Wyoming? To my surprise yes. You don't get 5+ sides of goodies like some places, but you do get yummy kimchi.

The skinny: excellent Korean home-cooking! Cash only. This place could very well be the very best restaurant in Cheyenne. I say this because it is authentic, consistent, and just downright delicious. This place may seem like a hole-in-the-wall, but please look past the ambience. The server also helps with the cooking, so service is only okay, but very forgivable considering this is a family-run restaurant. And yes, they are Korean. The food: devine. It really reminds me of eating at a Korean friend's mother's house, down to the presentation, and even the Corelle plates! You may not get as many side dishes as other Korean restaurants in bigger cities, but you get all the essentials (ie Kimchi, spinach, bean sprouts, radish, etc.). I usually get the bibimbap, but they also have excellent bulgogi, spicy pork, and chop chae. I couldn't be happier! Absolutely one of the best Korean restaurants I've been to (I'm originally from WA), and definitely the most authentic Asian restaurant in Cheyenne.

  • Marvelous V.

Korean Food in Wyoming!?! Yes I was surprised too!! The restaurant is run by a Korean family so you know it's authentic! The kim chi is the best - it's got a kick without being bitter. The menu only has a few dishes but judging from the pure and simple taste of each item served it's all about quality over quantity! I had the Be Bim Bop with pork and my companion had the Beef Bulgogi. In both dishes, the meat was so tender! You could really taste the true flavor of the meat! I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in Cheyenne, Wyoming!!!

Great Korean food. You would never expect something so flavorful in Cheyenne, Wy. Just remember this is a cash only establishment.

  • Roy S.

We have been anticipating eating here for several weeks now and were not disappointed. This is wonderful food for Cheyenne; pretty good for anywhere.... I had yukejang and it lwas a large bowl replete with ingredients. Lots of beef, lots of fern and other vegetables. The banchan was five types, all good/ The broth was the only thing to be less than stellar - it was pretty good as it was, but not made from the traditional boiling of beef bones for hours and hours. I don't get to Cheyenne often - I hadn't eaten at Korean House since 2006 but it was good then and good now....

  • Yelpin A.

Obviously intended to make old soldiers from Warren AFB, up the street, nostalgic for Korea. You will see Air Force people, including officers, there nearly all the time. Decor looks like a cross between a knickknack shop and a diner but food is wonderful. Gives you lots of pickled vegetables as appetizers, including kim chee which is Korean pickled cabbage and is spicy. Good wonton soup, which they call mondoo soup. Stir fried rice sticks with shredded chicken and spicy sauce is great. Also try the bee bim boop. I have to get my Korean fix here at least once a month. Kind of off the main drag in a residential neighborhood, but close to I-25 if you are traveling. You can set your GPS, swing right off the highway a few blocks and get a great meal. Bring cash because they don't do credit cards.

    (5)
  • Karl A.

Authentic Korean food in the middle of Cheyenne. The Kim Chi is very good and my Be Bim Bop was impressive. The location is a "hole-in-the-wall" but don't let that deter you, it's a hidden gem.

  • Cheryl B.

I really hate to give 5 stars for a place I'll only go to once, but if I went a few more times I'd probably bump it up a star. I will say their bibimbap is very good. When a Korean place has just ok bibimbap, there might be something wrong. It is akin to having a bad California roll at a sushi place. How do you mess that up? For those new to Korean food, bibimbap is basically a lot of leftovers or side dishes (banchan) over rice with gochujang (red pepper sauce) mixed in and sometimes a fried egg on top. It is sweet delicious comfort food. They side dishes are great. The kimchi is made in house and it is one of the better homemade ones I have ever had. Their sprouts are soybeans, which is a must in any Korean restaurant. Seems the place is run by two lovely ajummas and they are friendly and fast with the food. Menu is simple with most entrees running about $10. It is cash only, but oh so worth it.

    (4)
  • Brooke B.

CASH or LOCAL CHECKS ONLY - heads up I tried their Chop Chae tonight. It was good, a little salty though and I'm a smoker. I've only been to a few Korean restaurants but they usually bring about 6 different starters/sides, Korean House only brought out 3. But that's ok, my entree was BIG and I could struggled to eat half my food. The woman who took my order was super friendly but the restaurant was hella hot. Felt about 90. Bring a swim suit and a fan. I look forward to coming back and trying out the other goodies.

We just ate here after reading all the great reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was really good. What a wonderful surprise as we thought we might only be able to find a fast food restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant!

  • E H.

I will definitely be back! I was a little shocked to find solid Korean in Cheyenne, but very pleased. It's a small restaurant, so I did takeout. If you stay, you will probably end up smelling like Korean bbq, but that means you smell delicious! Had bulgogi, bebimbap, and dumplings. Overall, very good. Fresh sides (carrots, radish, etc.) and the kimchi has a nice kick; I think they make it themselves. Everything had a very mild flavor, so first timers will probably enjoy it. The staff was very friendly, and willing to wait while we ran to the ATM to get enough cash. But bring cash, they don't take any kind of card!

Really authentic Korean and great quality food. We are from the San Francisco area, and on a family road trip. This restaurant rivals the best Korean in the Bay Area, and is definitely the best food we've had on our road trip.

  • Andrew S.

Passing through Cheyenne and hungry for some food, found this gem on Yelp. It was great! There is no way I would have found without yelp. Its on the north side (north of i-80), off of I-25 a bit, but worth the trip. Had the Bi Bim Bop and it was totally yummy, and just hit the spot. Actully, it was a very large bowl of rice, meat, veggies, and pickled veggies, topped with a fried egg, served with Kim Chee. Yum! Unisex toilet. Cool sign in bathroom for the gents to remember to return the seat to the "at ease" position. LOL! Highly recommend. I will be seeking out this place next time I pass through Cheyenne.

  • Lynne B.

We were traveling through WY on our way to CA and spent the night in Cheyenne. The reviews on the Korea House made us try it. We loved it! The bulgogi, spicy chicken and the Chop Chae were some of the best we have had. Don't pass up this hidden jewel!

    (5)
  • joe w.

Specifically the be bim bop and the mandu are recommended. I think the leftovers were worthy of another meal too. This place would have earned five stars if not for some slightly sour kim chee. This place is a great value for the money because it caters primarily to clientele from nearby Warren AFB. If you like Korean food and aren't too picky about the kim chee, this place is tops.

    (4)
  • Jay L.

Bibimbap was delicious.(good amount of meat and lots of vegetable!) kimchi was spicy and sweet. ChopChae was good with or without meat. Simple food, but ample portion( I brought leftover) Unexpected delicious spot on the road trip. It's is not far from I-80. Tons of places to stay with good price near by (NE was overall too pricey so we stopped here and we are happy) cute family own restaurant. good korean food from Korean's standard. I wish I could try bibim nangmyen or spicy rice cakes.....ymm. I recommend this place:D

Its as real as it gets. Also Cash only as others have said. As a native of the Big Apple I am used to all forms of authentic ethnic cuisine. I recently moved to Cheyenne and expected to only find Japanese and Chinese. What a wonderful surprise, an oasis of authentic Korean food in an otherwise meat and potatoes desert. Meals run about $10 and there is a limited variety (about 12 dishes) , but so far all three of the ones I have tried were as good as anything NY/NJ/Chicago/LA. I was very impressed. If you have not had authentic Korean food this is a great place to get what would be a $30 meal in the city for $10, and loose nothing but the fancy plates and silverware (you came for the food not the plates right?). 5 stars.

  • Penelope B.

Yay! A good place to eat in Cheyenne! We hadn't had great luck until trying Korean House. Thanks Yelp! It's very conveniently accessed when driving on I-25, as we were on a recent road trip. I had the Spicy Chicken and it was quite good, including a fair amount of vegetables which is always nice. The hot sauce on the table was tasty too. They had some interesting Asian fruit sodas - we tried the peach. Very much recommended!

    (4)
  • Jenny R.

It's really hard to find good authentic ethnic food in Cheyenne and this is the best that I've found. Cash only, as others have said, but well worth going out of your way to discover. Only one or two on staff at a time, so there is usually a bit of a wait if they are busy.

Great lunch! We were on our way through Cheyenne and stopped here for lunch. Korean House is less than a mile from I-25, so it is great for those passing through. I had the Be Bim Bop which had a nice combination of vegetables and a choice of meat (chicken, pork or beef). I went with chicken and was not disappointed. My two year old enjoyed the chicken as well. The Be Bim Bop is not spicy by itself, however there is a bottle of Korean hot sauce on the side to make it as hot as you like. There are three types of kimchee, all home made. Yum! They are also available for purchase in larger quantities. We also ordered steamed Mandoo (dumplings). These had thick wrappers, and the flavor did not stand out. I would skip these next time. My wife's Spicy Chicken dish was also tasty. This is a casual restaurant with a pictorial menu on the wall, but table menu service as well. The folks running the restaurant are friendly! Bring cash, because credit cards are not accepted.

This is a place that seems to have escaped the notice of many of the local folks- too bad for them. I had the Spicy Pork, and the flavor- although nowhere close to my tolerance on the Scoville scale- was astounding. The two ladies working in the restaurant couldn't have been nicer, and they were very attentive- even though it appeared that they were industriously cleaning the kitchen every second that they weren't interacting with a customer. I really can't figure out how she knew that my water was getting low, but she did. By far my best dining experience in Cheyenne. My kind of place: Ethnic- with the cuisine and staff from the same country Clean- somewhat worn, but spotless Cheap- around $10 for an entree Delicious

Delicious, we liked it even better than Korean restaurants in Colorado Springs. The food was flavorful, meat tender, great kim chee. We will stop here everytime we pass through Cheyenne.

  • Jack K.

I enjoyed the food and the price and servings were reasonable. I don't know enough about Korean food to speak to authenticity but it had a unique taste. The kimchee and other condiments were good. I'll return next time I am in Cheyenne.

To my surprise, you can get authentic Korean food in Cheyenne. The food was very tasty. I had the Bulgogi which was served with rice and three sides.
