The food here is great. All items in the menu are recommended. When ordering wings be sure to ask for extra crispy or they will not be cooked well.

The food here is really good, love the chicken Caesar wrap, beef tips with rice and fried cod. The service is always good and they make you feel welcomed. Everyone at the bar is friendly during the games.

Went to TJ's in December, 2014. It is very close to the I-70 exit. Menu has several options. Restaurant itself had a warm, inviting feel to it. Waitress was fairly friendly, and the owner checked on everyone. Free popcorn when you sat down. I had the beef tips over potatoes, my wife had a panini, one son had a burger, and the other had chicken fingers. Portions on the adult menus could have been larger for what was charged. Beef tips were excellent, potatoes weren't bad, gravy was out of a can. Wife enjoyed her meal. Kids liked theirs. I would look at a few other places next time I'm in Wheeling. It seemed like it would be a great bar for a game. Just wish I got more food for my money.

I can honestly say that i was blown away by my experience here. Service was on point and the food exceeded expectations. I witnessed a steak salad served with french fries IN THE SALAD - boom next level order. Lets talk atmosphere....this place had it all, from the sports themed decor to the "21 Club Room" off to the side. What is the 21 club you might ask - only a place where you can gamble and go to flavor country (smoke) at the same time. All in all you would have to be a FOOL to not stop by TJ's on your next trip through Wheeling. I know I will.

No better place to watch football! Every year I come into town to visit family. It's usually during football season. I am always in need of good sports bar. TJs has never failed. A whole wall of TVs that looks like a Vegas Sportsbook, a ticker with sports updates, and personal TVs at the booths. How could anyone not like this place? The owner (I think) walks around a greets everyone usually dogging on my Cowboys but it's all in good fun and really makes you feel welcome. Beer, TVs, and jalepenos cheese pretzels. What more could you want?

I really don't understand why people continue to go to TJs. Food and service are just meh, and the prices are too high for the quality of food. I've never been here and haven't eventually regretted it.

We are from out of town and stopped in late in the evening for dinner. TJ's is a local sports bar which serves a typical sports bar menu. I ordered the fresh cod fish and chips., which was good. She ordered a chicken sandwich which was also good. Everyone we talked with was friendly and the service was just right. I would recommend TJ's if you are looking for good service and a chance to watch the game. I would come back next time I am in town.

This place needs a "Bar Rescue". The menu has (no kidding) about 79 items to choose from - not including drinks. The food is NOT very good.

We went for lunch, very fun set up and atmosphere. Waitresses were very nice and did a nice job. We had the tomato cucumber salad, a cup of bean n ham, and New England clam chowder, all very good. My husband also ordered the meatball and breadstick appetizer, that was surprisingly extremely good, soft tasty meatballs, perfect marinara sauce and soft pizza like bread sticks. And the tuna in the tomato was made up very nicely even though it was a little heavy on the mayo for me. Our servers did a nice job. Would go back again when we return someday. :)

Food is mediocre. We got the Buffalo Dip and it had so much cheese it almost grossed me out but underneath the dip was tasty. My boyfriend didn't care for it and the chips served with it were stale. Coleslaw was ok but the Jovanni Sandwich was ON POINT! I really loved it and I'm hard to please. Boyfriend got the Filet Mignon tips and they too were good. Drinks were way over priced tho. Not a choice drinking spot, cheaper drinks at the bar next door.

Great place to watch the game and have a beer. The girls are attractive and friendly. Downside is food blows royally, I refuse to eat there. Crappy cole slaw with every meal, only edible item is the hamburger steak. Try it out make your own opinion.

This place has a good atmosphere, good pool tables, drinks, big screen tv's, attractive waitresses but not good food. Well, the popcorn is ok. I grew up in Wheeling. I've been going there since it opened. The food is basically a remake of a Big Boy restaurant. The owners used to own a few around the area, but that food was better. They've really let the food go down in quality over the years. Not that is was that good anyway. The cooks are just kids so what do you expect? It's a good time. The burgers aren't bad. The fish sandwich is good. The fish is from coleman's. The Slam Jam is ok. Big Boy Slim Jim. Take it with a grain of salt and add that to your free popcorn.

O MG I'm so mad and hungry, I can't believe how this place hit the skids!I wanted to eat at NAIL CITY, but they were closed because it was sunday...so I went to this dump.We ordered 2 oriental chicken salads...easy right? Not for this place...hugh salad bowl of almost full sized lettuce leaves, and exactly 3 tiny oranges per bowl.I complained to our waitress, who sent the manager(8-11-13).He asked where we lived in polite conversation, and mentioned a restarunt in our town that I got food poisening in a year ago as one of his favorites...said he was going to take care of the salad presintation, but not our meals...no exchange, NOTHING! I'm a busy hairdresser in the area, 10 to 20 clients per day, and you can bet I would NEVER recommened this dump again...What a shame,we are in town sooo often an this could have been on our list of great places to go ...SHAME ON YOU!! .

Surly hostess led us to our sticky table. Ordered a hot cheese dip appetizer that was so stiff you had to take a knife and clump it on your chips because it was so "un-melty", ended up leaving it. The sandwich I ordered was OK, the cheeseburger my friend got was small. I asked for the bill, she brought it out and took our plates as she left. My friend was at the time taking a bite of his burger, had a plate full of fries and I had food on my plate too. I tracked her down and she brought new fries out but by then everything had been so wrong about the whole visit we were ready to leave. Expensive for what you get, menu lacks imagination, food is borderline and the hostess and waitress don't bring any charm to the table.

I like the layout and overall look of the place but the food was just okay. Not awful and if I lived around here I'd probably go back with friends as it seemed like a relaxed atmosphere to hang out for a while but nothing I would outright crave.

TJ's is THE sports bar in the Ohio Valley (is there even competition?) Tables covered with trading cards. Walls adorned with local sports memorabilia. TV's everywhere. Several pool tables. A handful of arcade games. Food = decent. My father used to bring me here all the time when I was young and I was always pleased. My palette may be a bit more refined now, but I've never had a bad meal here. Beer=cheap. If I remember correctly, a pitcher is $5. But it's been a while. There's a pretty spacious glassed off room that's great for private parties and meetings.

The food here is good but the service was excellent. I'm a former local who was back in town from California and stopped here with my dad. We ordered an appetizer (cheese sticks, which are awesome, FYI. I do not know what brand of cheese that they use, but it's so creamy!) and my dad got fish and chips and I ordered the fish tacos. The fish and chips were excellent- the fish is mild and cooked to perfection, the fried were good. The fish tacos were another story. I currently live in the birthplace of the fish taco. I get them all the time and know a good taco. The fish can be fried or grilled and a large piece or two is served on soft corn tortillas and topped with shredded cabbage and a creamy sauce. This is not the TJ's fish taco...their is chopped up fried fish, mixed with cole slaw and hot sauce. I took a bite and that was it...I was grossed out by the taste and texture and could not eat another bite. The waitress came by and asked how I liked them and I kindly told her that they weren't for me and that she could go ahead and take them away, because I wouldn't be finishing. She was SO nice and told me to pick something else form the menu and she wouldn't charge for the fish taco. My dad and said no- we would pay for them (food is a gamble to us, hahaha) and I said that I wasn't really that hungry so I really was okay with just having the appetizer. The next thing we know the manager is at our table insisting that the tacos are being taken off our bill, even though we said no, and again offereing to make me something else. I again turned him down. He asked what it was I didn't like about them, because he was curious about tweaking the recipe. Everyone was SO nice. I ended up coming back the following week.I got the cheese sticks again- delicious- and ordered a Chicken Philly, which was very good. I will also add that their ranch dressing is incredible. I got it instead of marinara for the cheese sticks and loved it.

Sports bar kind of food: Peanuts, burgers, and such are the fare. This is not very vegetarian friendly. You can get a veggie/garden burger and a pasta dish with marinara sauce. The Cole slaw is good. Good seating but noisy most of the time...it is a sports bar after all.

Don't be fooled by the mural on the wall. This is pretty much your basic sports bar and is heavily geared towards local teams, from WVU to all things Pittsburgh (Steelers, Pirates, Penguins). It's a mini-museum for local sports lore and the food is as you might expect: fried, hearty, some veggie options, and wings galore. Don't judge the whole Wheeling food scene by TJ's, but don't dismiss this, either. It has its place.

The food here was pretty good- had some of the mini cheeseburgers w/onion rings which were really amazing and the french fries were great as well. Their wraps looked good too but I didn't get to try those... I also got the cobb salad which was their "special" it was not very good at all but i don't think salads are their specialty. We also enjoyed getting popcorn before the meal. We liked this sports bar better than a place like BW3's because it was quaint and not as loud as some sports bars that I have been in.

Visiting Wheeling for 3 weeks on business from Miami and was staying at a nearby Marriott. Work is very stressful and long hours so looking for a place to unwind. TJ's is very noticable and seemed popular. Very limited beer selection but fairly extensive menu. The best part is the giant awesome flat screen TV against the wall. It was Thursday, April 25th, 2013, about 8 - 10 PM, the first night of the NFL draft and Penguins game was on. I sat at the bar facing the giant screen. Fast service - I'll say that. The worst part was this one bartender, the tall young brunette that kept pouring me 2/3 of pint - the rest foam. I barely mentioned the foam and she snapped and got angry with me and came up with all kinds of excuses such as "it's not pouring right" and "my boss wants us to pour it just like that", etc. Basically it was my problem. (It's almost as if the customers are the enemy with her but she seems to have a good time with the other staff but has a chip on her shoulder with customers) I didn't argue with her but she was down right rude and the two guys sitting on either side of me couldn't believe what they saw either. Ordered a cheesburger and it was OK but nothing special. Order medium but received well done and also little underweight but edible. Needless to say the horrendous attitude was reflected in my tip and I won't be back. I also noticed the people sitting next to me didn't leave much either. One bad attitude can spoil the whole thing.

The food here has gone down hill a little. I had the slam jam which used to be called the slim jim years ago. It consists of grilled ham on grecian bread with cheese lettuce tomato and mayo. Terrible compared to the old version. I also had a salad with french blue cheese dressing. The lettuce tasted like it was from one of those places that process lettuce, yuk...The food is normally ok but I still like the place. Their burgers are always pretty good. I would go back but I'll complain next time if it's not a descent meal.
