Really liked this place. The wait was a little long because it was a Saturday night and it's a small restaurant. They do have a bar, but it was full. The staff was extremely friendly. We had the appetizer sampler. It was great except the cheese sticks were a little too breaded but that's just my personal preference. The zucchini was great. I had the lobster ravioli but with vodka sauce instead of the marinara and it was excellent. The only bad thing is that I wasn't hungry enough to eat very much of it because it is extremely filling. Made a nice lunch the next day though.

You can't beat this place! Only downfall is everyone loves it so at dinner time if your not early or you better plan on being late by its always busy! Best meatballs around except for mine of course lol. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

If you go on a weekend, expect to wait at least 45 minutes as it's a small restaurant. My girlfriend had the seafood shells. Chunks of lobster, scallops and shrimp in a cream sauce that included mushrooms. I had the mushroom rav with marinara. We were both happy with our choices. My dinner salad had lettuce, tomato, carrot, onion, and radish. it was fine. Getting the house Italian with it would be a good idea. My girlfriend was very happy with her cole slaw. The calamari app was large, nicely breaded, and not greasy. Pretty tasty. Dessert was the Spumoni ice cream. Service was attentive. The manager came over to our table several times to see how our meal was going. We will be back.

Excellent old school ambiance (NEVER SHOULD BE REMODELED!) ..very good marinara as advertised....great service... Only problem...ordered the supposed Prime Rib special...which WAS NOT prime rib at all but, rather, a ribeye steak. That being said,it was delicious......but cmon now....be honest about what you are serving....would have given a 4th star if not for this deception.....albeit a wonderful tasting one. Great bar with nice stiff drinks too.

The food was so good, I forgot to take a picture of my food to post. If you are in the area, I recommend you try this place. Make sure to ask for Kim!

Locals usually rave about this place, but I wasn't very impressed. The portions were generous, but otherwise nothing was remarkable. I ordered chicken Parmesan which I didn't finish because the chicken's texture was odd. My husband ordered the veal, which he enjoyed but I did not. The marinara was unremarkable from any jarred marinara I've eaten. Service was a bit slow and inattentive.

Stayed at Oglebay for a couple of days and looked at yelp for dinner ideas. Based on reviews we decided to try Figarettis. When we arrived at the restaurant on this Thursday night there was a 50 minute wait for a table. We never wait this long for a table but decided to at the bar and we are very glad we did. The restaurant is small and casual with good service and food. I got the stuffed shells and my husband the chicken marsala. Both were good picks. Both meals came with soup and salad and the waitress kept the bread basket full. When in Wheeling we will return.

Always a good idea to come here, don't let the small atmosphere deter you from here, the food, Frank Sinatra, wine, and customer service will win you over.

I was not impressed. Generic Italian food.

Fantastic place! A classic Italian eatery! They don't make places like this anymore! Also great lunch specials! Get the spaghetti and meatballs!

I've eaten hear off and on my whole life. My go to entrees are asparagus ravioli with garlic olive oil on top. I've also eaten their steak salad, pasta with homemade sauce, lobster, meatballs, veggie pasta(not sure if that's what it's called, it's an appetizer), lasagna, and other items. If you're Italian, your family most likely has a meatball recipe like mine and trying other restaurant/family recipes challenge you to like them as well. This was the case for me as I did not like the meatball but I know other people that do. Their house salad is ok, nothing special. I typically get their house dressing. Their peanut butter pie is delicious. Overall, this place is consistent, service is pretty good and food is a little better than average. It can accommodate parties up to about 7 people I think, they may have seating in the back room I'm unaware of. This restaurant has an ambiance for casual to moderate upscale dining. I do not recommend for children unless well behaved, especially during dinner. Overall, it gets my recommendation.

Figaretti's award-winning sauce has officially made its mark here on Capitol Hill. For the second time, the Figaretti's team has traveled to Washington, D.C. to provide their incredible Italian cuisine for a West Virginia event. I can't thank you guys enough for being part of our "Hollow" documentary reception. Hope to see you again soon. -Joe Manchin

I was really expecting a really cozy Italian eatery... Not so, more like a diner...food was under whelming... I guess you people in this area think this is Italian food...not going back

This is our favorite date night restaurant. The only negative would be: wait can be a little long and service isn't the fastest at times. But every staff member is pleasant and the owners make you feel like family. Figs catered our wedding of 300+ last December and did a fantastic job! Every item was personalized and specified to our wishes. The even surprised us with additional appetizers and sides, for no extra cost! I highly recommend their catering services!! Their homemade house dressing is delicious along with the olive oil bread dip! Chicken parm is fantastic too!

Mushroom ravioli is AWSOME. Great meal. Love the small town ' one of a kind' restaurants.

Still wonderful after all of these years! Authentic italian food at its best---much better than any chain. The sauce is amazing and is what sets Figarettis apart from everyone else! I always feel at home there. I'm so happy they sell their sauce at local grocery stores too!

Got tired of the typical chain restaurants and after reading some reviews on Yelp, decided to try this. It was everything we hoped for and more. GREAT food, old style ambiance, and outstanding service. A must try!

My wife and I had lunch here Monday after having had dinner at Ye Old Alpha Sunday, and the contrast between the two was vast. Even though they're both long-established neighborhood restaurants, and both had pretty basic decor, Ye Old Alpha felt like that place where everybody knows your name, and Figaretti's felt like ... well ... a dive. Small building, difficult parking lot, very dark interior, the massive bar occupying most of the floor space. The food was acceptable -- spaghetti and meatballs for me, meat ravioli for Irene -- but most of the time I had a "what are we doing here?" feeling. The menu was very limited, but I get the impression that's just the state of lunch at Figaretti's, and that we'd have experienced a fuller menu if we'd come at night. I'm sure there must be an appeal to this place, because they sell their bottled marina sauce locally, but I just didn't see it. I can't see us returning. While the food was decent, the ambience took away from the taste.

I've never eaten here at this location. The restaurant had moved from it's previous location. I grew up eating at this place and was never disappointed. I am surprised at all the negative reviews. This location was a couple different bars that I used to frequent. it isn't the best location and building but the food was always excellent previously. My favorite was always the lasagna and the blue cheese dressing and of course the italian bread. I've had their sauce that they sell at Krogers it was always good.I would look at it this way every chef has has his good days and bad days. This isn't Olive Garden which is ok but not great. I would recommend you try it. The people that own it are really hard working descent people.

Hole in the wall, looks really sketchy on the outside, but the crowd inside tells you it's worth going to. The special Figs Appetizer (Italian sausage, peppers, in a generous sauce) was perfectly spiced..

Stopped in about a month ago. Wanted a late dinner with my girfriend. 8 o clock and we waited a half hour. The parking lot is a joke. Very small. The place is very small and cramped. The food was ok. Service was spotty. I know it is the end of the evening but the waitresses gathered around the bar and were very loud and rude. There was one blonde waitress who sat there, stared and was very loud. The topper was these three business types who emerged from the gaming parlor. They were extremely loud, vulgar and cussing. Telling dirty jokes etc. I did not appreciate this around my girlfriend and there was a lady sitting by us also. I told the guy on the way out thanks for ruining my dinner and to watch his mouth around women. The manager chased me to the parking lot and apologized. He gave me two free drink cards. I will not be back. This was the second time in. This place is just overrated.

Wife and I went for a romantic dinner, the food wad good but service was terrible.waitress did not check on us at all after food was delivered and we sat without bread and drinks and I did not get my soup and Tony the retired owner blamed us for not catching the waitress, she had us and one other table. Good food is easy to find, good service not so much! I will not go back.we spent 80 dollars here to get blown off like we had no right to complain.

I grew up in Wheeling and have always been a fan of Figaretti's Restaurant. Their menu selections do not offer a lot of flair, but provide great taste and quality. It has been family owned and operated as long as it's been in existence and every once in a while you can catch Tony Figaretti strolling around the restaurant asking customers how they are enjoying their meals. It's a smallish restaurant and often gets crowded on weekends, but you can call ahead and reserve a table.

I have to say that I have mixed reviews about this place. The first time I went to Figaretti's was on a saturday night. The parking was terrible because it is such a small place however, the service and the food was above average. Also, the ambience of the restaurant gave off a romantic vibe due to it's small size and because it was nighttime there were candles lit on the tables which made it peaceful so my date and I were able to relax and have a good time. Fast forward to 3 months later, on a saturday afternoon. Bill and I decide to go to Figaretti's for lunch because I kept telling him how great the food was and how much he would just absolutely love it. Boy, was I disappointed. In the daytime, the restaurant loses that "romantic feel" and the rips in the booth seats and the ugly tablecloths stick out like a sore thumb. I ordered the same thing as last time which was the stuffed egglant parmesean. Unlike before, this time it was very greasy and soggy and the ricotta cheese inside had an off taste. Bill ordered veal parmesan and after the first few bites I could see the look of disgust in his face although he was a good sport and tried to finish as much as he could. He said that the meat was so tough on the outside that it was almost impossible to chew and then the meat towards the middle tasted uncooked borderlining raw. Now, lets talk about price! For two lunch portions and 2 beers.....the meal came to $51.00 and some change with taxes and a tip! On a positive note, the service was fine. We had a really sweet waitress who was very attentive. In my opinion, Figaretti's maybe a nice option for a first date on a weekend however, to be quite honest, we will not be going back.

We ended up at Figaretti's after attempting to get a seat over at Olive Garden but with an hour wait time there we looked elsewhere for our Italian fix. The food here was terrible! My wife had manicotti which was rubbery and reminded her of microwavable food. I had their spaghetti. The sauce was spicy and watery. It did not taste like any sauce I have ever had. $45 and we were still hungry when we finally left. I don't know how anyone gives this a good rating unless you are being sentimental because of it's smallness or knowing the owner. Maybe no taste buds. I don't know but I do know we will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

I live near Figaretti's and have enjoyed both eating there and using their catering service. The service here really shines and it's good, regular Italian. Their eggplant parm is fantastic, and don't miss the broiled seafood platter they seem to offer most weekends. I love their homemade house Italian dressing, too. This is a family-owned and operated restaurant that I'm proud to support. I've never had a bad experience here.

A local institution with a multiple-generation fan club. Features a basic menu of traditional Italian dishes, none of which are particularly impressive, but the neighborhood feel is more important than the food quality. Figaretti's has their own line of marinara sauce sold through local grocery stores

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
