Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

This is the best pizza in town, and it costs less than $11 for a large 16 inch. Call ahead for pick-up, since Pizza Al's doesn't deliver, and expect your pizza to be ready in about 20 minutes. Note that this is New York style and should be eaten with Bleu Cheese.

Pizza Al's is a city landmark. Just as Al himself is. I'm a young twenty-something, and I've been getting my pizza from Al all my life (he used to run another place down the street called Pizzeria Italia before opening Pizza Al's). Al himself is pretty much a stereotype. He's a little old Italian man, who lives and breathes by his restaurant. My parents say he was an old man even when they got pizza from him back in the 70s. I prefer to think of Al as "timeless". You can't get a better pizza than Al's outside of New York and North Jersey. The small pizza is as large as the biggest from Pizza Hut and Domino's. And its super cheap, with pizzas ranging from $5-Up depending on toppings. If you can manage to resist the pizza, the sandwiches are a MUST! It just doesn't get much better than Al's. Also, just pretend the Little Caesar's next door doesn't exist.

If you like frozen pizza you will think this is good pizza. It is not the best in Morgantown, but it is close to the dorms and they keep it in business. The people who run it think the customers are out to get them according to all the negative signs in the shop ( like the soup nazi ). Make sure you eat it all because it does not rewarm very well. The sauce, cheese and crust are thin like Chef borarti homemade pizza. If you drive to the shop you will discover you are heading for one of the worst traffic areas in Morgantown.

I was recommended this restaraunt by a friend and was highly disappointed... Felt like I wasted $23. The service is slow, but when they come around are friendly. The pizza is a grease pit.... Lost count of the number of napkins I used trying to soak it up. If you want good pizza head over to Mountain State Brewery on the warf & it's about the same price and one of the better pizza places in Morgantown.

Pizza Al's used to be the best pizza in town. The owner used to own Pizzeria Italia, but in what appeared to be a ploy for more money, that establishment was sold to a family that pretty much ran it into the ground. For awhile, under the new name, Pizza Al's was serving up pizza that was equal to what you used to get at Pizzeria Italia. But, alas, that time has come to an end. The crust is cardboard awful, the sauce passable, and the pizza itself is greasy beyond reason. I am a big guy, and I love myself some cheese and meat, but when the grease drips off of a slice, so much that it makes a paper plate transparent, it's simply not appealing. There are two locations, one in Sabraton (which, admittedly, I have not patronized), and the one I used to go to, in Suncrest. Since it is within walking distance to towers, it is usually busy with college kids. God help you if you want service on a weekend or on game days. If you're looking for good pizza, try another establishment. I think the owner has made enough money from his businesses, and just doesn't care. At least it looks that way.

I have been stopping here for 20 plus years, I am a pizza fanatic, I have been to hundreds of pizza places, this is absolutely the best. If you like thin crust pizza the best. The people who operate the store are very customer oriented. I was on my way to my wife's mother's funeral, and I happened to mention it, and they refused to take any money, unreal. Please give it a try.

My favorite pizza in Morgantown. They occasionally have a tendency to over cook their pies so I normally tell them to "go light" on the crust.

Yummy, greasy, floppy pie. Just so simple and good. If you are a huge fan of dominos and pizza hit, skip it. But, if you like a sprawling tasty thin crust pie that you have to fold in half to keep the toppings from sliding off, this is the place for you! Worth a visit or six!

I guess you have to be from Morgantown to appreciate Al's (though for all I know, they may make the best pizza in town - I haven't tried any place else). I just recently moved to Morgantown, and was in the mood for some pizza during the recent NFL playoffs. Given the positive reviews, I ordered a large pizza for pick-up at Al's (with onion, mushrooms, extra cheese and tomatos). My first concern was when the clerk told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. Really? You can make a quality pie and cook it in just 10 minutes? In my experience, pies that are put together and cooked that quickly are seldom very good. Anyway, when I stopped by the tiny shop 20 minutes later (they have a couple of small tables for dining in, but Al's is very much a "no frills" pizzeria, where most folks order their pizza to go), my pizza was boxed up and ready to go. The good thing about Al's pizza is that you get a good size pie for the money. My 4 item large pie with tax was just under $16.50. On the other hand, the ingredients were clearly cheap, the pie was light on sauce, and it had way too much dough for my liking. It still tasted OK, but it was dominated by a doughy crust, and there was just nothing very exciting about it. Shrug. If this is the best one can do when it comes to Pizza in Morgantown, then I think it's apparent I'm not going to be ordering a lot of pizza during my stay here.

A morgantown Institution. A simple thing done right over and over again for years. I have to admit a slight bias for my nostalgia . There is nothing like going to Pizza Al's with a few pals ordering a huge pizza along with a pitcher of beer after soccer in front of towers. None-the-less this place serves great pizza, perfect dough, fresh ingredients and really epitomizes the "better ingredients, better pizza" slogan.

New York style pizza! mmmmm! Thin crust with the sauce and cheese to perfection! Love this place and at $10 for a large is just tickling! Don't miss out on this. I really wish they delivered when I'm feeling lazy.

Excellent tasting pie at an excellent price. Pizza Al's is the only pizza worth eating in Morgantown!

Pizza Al's is pretty good pizza, especially those who want that NYC inspired pie. When I ordered and picked up, the lady was working, she runs a tight ship and it shows. Is Pizza Al's my favorite in the world? No, but it's mom & pop (I always like to support local franchises) and they use good ingredients and create a more authentic tasting pie anywhere in Morgantown. I recommend it highly to those who don't want corporate pizza and a huge pie! Mangia.

This place is pick up only, but has cheap prices and huge great tasting pizzas.

  • Leo X.

A-OK pizza. Not the worst nor the best pizza I have eaten. Prices are good for the size of pie you get. There are tables to sit down at and eat your meal. One thing I didnt like about Pizza Als were the signs posted inside. There is a sign stating 2 liter bottles are for take-out only. I believe as a customer, I should be able to purchase a 2 liter bottle if I am dining in.
