Where's the sauce Checked out Cheddar's before a rowdy football game in West V. I liked the look of the place, very farm and comfy even in the bar area where I sat. I was straight to the point and wanted a burger with bbq and bacon on it. Like most places, they had what I desired so I ordered up. Food service seemed slow but it was pretty crowded. The burger was tasty and had flavor to it. The only problem was each bite was dry. I realized I was missing bbq sauce on it. Maybe that would have made the burger outstanding, but as such it was just ordinary. May give them a chance at redemption in the future though.

Was in town for a convention and upon a request and recommendation from a friend- decided to give it a try. Was greeted and waited about 15 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night which wasn't too bad. Ordered loaded nachos as an app and a steak for myself. ATMOSPHERE: Kind of an up-scale Ruby Tuesday is what I would liken this place too. Black paint, light tile, booths and tables with cloth napkins and shiny utensils. I appreciate it- wasn't too load or crowded. Place was clean and well-kept. FOOD: The nachos were good- but an odd way of presenting nachos, as each nacho was addressed with chicken and cheese; placed around the rim of the plate surrounding dipping sauces. (5/5) The steak I ordered with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was on top of fried onion straws- which at first I wasn't aware of(and I'm not a big onion guy) but it was a GREAT addition! THE PORTIONS WERE AWESOME compared to a Ruby Tuesday, and the food was done right. (5/5) SERVICE: This was the only area where there was a hiccup. Our server was friendly but man if I could get a refill, it would've been huge. Each time he would stop his attention was elsewhere- literally turning his head and looking at something in the distance, like dude was a wanted man. Man that refill. Would've been huge. WILL BE BACK- RECOMMEND TRYING IT.

I was just at this Cheddar's location yesterday and I'm definitely not coming back. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, and I'll be honest, I must have missed the words "deep fried" in the description. But when it arrived everything looked delicious, until I took a bite. The sandwich was drenched in grease. Dripping. Oozing. I swear to you it was like I ordered some grease with a side of sandwich. To make things worse, the inside was still gooey, as if the batter wasn't fully cooked. So it was a greasy, doughy, mess of mayonnaise, turkey, and ham with what looked like Kraft singles american cheese product. It was sickeningly greasy.. The side of french fries, were okay. Definitely not as greasy as the sandwich. They weren't seasoned at all, which is unusual, but not exactly a deal-breaker. Overall, I was disappointed with my meal and I would not recommend ordering the Monte Cristo sandwich.

Went for lunch with my husband and 2 girls. They got the junior burger with apple yogurt and they loved it!!! Ate everything on their plates!!! I got the grilled salmon with steamed broccoli and green beans, the salmon came on top of a bed of rice... It was AWESOME!!!!! The only complaint was the restaurant was freezing cold and no bread to start. I am just used to having the restaurants give bread to tide you over until the meal comes lol

Came here for dinner with a group of 26 people. We were attending a professional conference and decided to do at least one group dinner together. Environment: I liked the light and fun atmosphere of the place and they had music playing when we walked in. They managed to fit our group of people in an area that looked sectioned off but we had to split into groups at different tables. Food: I would call it mediocre at best. Food was practically tasteless on my plate and I had steak! It also was not cooked well. I asked for a medium-rare I got well done. I finished my food because I was starving and the portion was good and filling especially for the price. None of the people at my table finished their food (bc of taste not portion) and one girl refused to eat after 2 bites. I don't think it was as terrible as their reaction but I was very disappointed. My friend was disappointed at the Shepard pie because...well it didn't look like a Shepard pie. It didn't even have the pie crust!! I ran into the same problem when I ordered an apple pie for dessert...it was a plate with ice cream and cooked apples on it and a very very very little amount of what I think was pie crust. Service: I was glad the server remembered to take my dessert order after the meal. I thought she'd forget cuz she wouldn't take the order with my regular order. However there was a few mix ups with some peoples dinner and my dessert initially went to the wrong table. Overall: 2 stars Great price, not so great food, flat service

Nice restaurant with cool decor. Service was sketchy though. I ordered the southwest salad with no dressing and no cheese and he brought me cheese with no dressing and no corn. If you're unsure, just ask. Coworker ordered the surf and turf and it was pretty good. Food is good here, service is not.

Really? A 40 minute wait for a table when there are at least 25 empty tables in the restaurant. (It is 5:00 on a Sunday by the way.) I overheard the hostess tell one of the servers to just tell people that are complaining that it is shift change "or something". Looks like very poor management to me.

Price was good and service was as well. A bit of a wait to get in and lots of open tables tells me that they need some more staff. I had the ribs, and they were quite good. Cookie for dessert, and it was yummy too

It's with mixed emotions we award this Cheddar's a 3-star rating. On a positive note, it's likely the best chain in the area. The food is much better than Chilis, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and the other chains in this area and it's the most affordable, bringing a tremendous amount of value. Where else can you order a chicken dish that brings two sides and two pieces of decent chicken for less than $10? Meanwhile, the few times I've been here over the years, the service has been suspect. Last week, they sat us at a table than hadn't been wiped down (there was sticky, slimy stuff on it and simply getting a refill was a chore. In fact, we ordered our meal and 20 minutes later the waitress came back to ask us if it was ok that the chicken pot pie was going to take 20 minutes or if we wanted to order something else. And, she meant 20 more minutes, but had forgot to come back and ask us. We switched to a burger, which she said would be ready in five minutes. You guessed it, 20 minutes later we asked another server to check on our food. Meanwhile, the food at Cheddar's isn't bad. In fact, for a fast food chain, it's pretty good. The chicken dishes, the salads and the Cajun catfish are solid and more than affordable. I keep reverting to value. That's the best aspect in this casual chain. The trick is getting a good server. Good luck on that.

I don't know what happened to this location, but the last few visits have been terrible. The portions have gotten smaller, our food came out cold, and it is insanely overpriced. The saving grace was our waitress who was incredibly kind and attentive, especially regarding my food allergies. We paid 60 bucks (including tip) for a vegetable plate, chicken tender platter, and 3 drinks. Nowhere near worth it! I'd rather go to the grocery store and pick up some nice steaks for that price. Avoid!

It's nothing special, but it's also not horrible either... Just not my cup of tea. It's all american food which is bland enough for the general populace but not savory enough to capture my attention.

I LOVE cheddars! It is cheap and everything has huge portions and the food is amazing! perfect got college kids that want a good meal for cheap.

It's a chain, located in an area where you have about 10+ other chain restaurants, but being from out of town, this was the only one that I haven't been to before. I couldn't believe how good the prices were. It's mainly comfort food and nothing that extraordinary (again, a chain), but plenty of options for everyone to find something they like.

Visited during business trip for lunch. Told it would be 15 minutes till seated. We sat on bench and counted 14 empty tables. A waiter over heard our conversation and said it would over run their kitchen. Ordered chips and dip and had to ask for silverware and napkins. Chips and queso was good. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and it was very good. Clean - good food - fair service and don't come here if you are on a short time frame...

"...Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away." - "Ozymandias," Percy Bysshe Shelley This Cheddar's has given up the ghost. Like the ruins of some monument, it manages to still stand above some wreckage, but its uprightness is a miracle in its own right. While I can only speak to this location's quality, I get the feeling that Cheddar's in general are simply no place to be. Let me tell you why... Despite being seated in an empty bar area at 8:30pm on a Saturday night, the wait for our food was over an hour. We had a hard time tracking down our waitress, and when I asked if we could change the channel, they simply said they didn't know if they got the channel I requested (Fox, by the way). When I asked what beers they had on tap, I was told they had ONLY 2 BEERS on tap: Budweiser and Coors Light. But that's all just inconvenience - the kind of inconvenience you'd put up with if the food was worth it. Let me spare you the suspense - the food is not good. My dad ordered a cheeseburger, which they ONLY serve Medium Well. My dad asked if they could maybe cook it Medium, and we were told it really wasn't possible. What?! He ordered it anyway, asking only that they leave off the mustard. When the burger came, it was dripping with mustard. When he asked for the mayo that he ordered with the burger, we waited 15 minutes for our waitress to bring it. Although we didn't ask to speak to a manager, our waitress still sent one over. The manager was kind, apologized, removed the burger from our bill. Apparently, that the burger was served with mustard was the reason for the removal, not the fact that they literally refuse to cook anything other than medium well. Spare yourself. Listen to the other reviewers around here. If you're looking for a burger, try Atomic Grill south of Morgantown, Tailpipes downtown, or Five Guys at the Suncrest Towne Center. If you're looking for good food of any kind, look elsewhere. However, if you're looking for subpar fare and 2-hour waits, Cheddar's is your place.

It just wasn't good. The menu itself was typical American fare, fried and smothered in some sort of cheese, sauce or gravy. We ordered the chicken fried steak, and it took forever to come out, then they were out of gravy, then they had it, and the food was some lukewarm rubbery concoction by the time it was straightened out. Service was spotty and would disappear when she was needed. Give it a pass.

The only place I've ever had food poisoning. And I've eaten at some shady places. Never again.

Pretty great place to grab some food and drinks. I was there with some coworkers and it made for a great meeting place. The food was very good and the drinks will catch your eye! It's not very expensive either if you ask me. Compared to some of the other places I have eat around Morgantown WV. I recommend this place to anyone who wants great food and a good casual place to have nice conversation. Oh and before I forget the staff was also amazing. Our waiter was one that you alway wish you get when you go to restaurants.

This used to be an enjoyable place to eat. Not this time. The young man who waited on us tried, but we did not have good service. My food was warm and I ordered the warm bread and never received it. The menu read fresh off the cobb corn, yet it was clearly from a can. I won't be back to this location.

I would not say that the food here is great. However, my kids love their chicken strips, so we go and endure mediocre food for a decent price. The service is ok. My biggest deterrent from going here would be the noise level in the restaurant. We have been here several times, both while nearly empty and packed. The noise level was very high in both scenarios. Not sure what the restaurant can do to mitigate this though.

One of my favorite spots to eat in Morgantown. I realize it is a chain, but their portion sizes and prices are hard to beat! Almost every time I visit, I order the chicken strips. They are amazing, and their ranch dressing makes the perfect compliment. I usually get a salad as a side, which comes with one of their croissants with honey butter--- legendary!!!!!! Seriously, the stuff dreams are made of. I also get their steamed broccoli as my other side, which is always cooked perfectly with the broccoli tasting fresh and still slightly crisp, and with minced garlic mixed throughout. Yum!!! Their margaritas are amazing as well, and I almost always order one. Another of my favorite entrees is the grilled tilapia with a yummy mango salsa. Their chips and queso are great, as is their spinach dip. Their onion rings are amazing as well- lightly breaded and stacked sky-high. My mother has gotten their spasagna, a brick of spaghetti and sauce, with one half also covered in a creamy sauce. It is delicious as well! I came here when I was celebrating getting a new job, and the waitress recommended I order the top shelf shaker margarita. They deliver the poured margarita to you, with another pour left in the shaker. I have never left here without being happy and full--- a great family place, with a nice casual atmosphere. If you see a grizzly-looking bearded fellow at the bar, tell Yoho that Heidi sent ya! ;)

I went there early noon and few people were in the restaurant. However, I waited at least 20 minutes for my hamburger. The hamburger is good taste and less expensive. Also, the onion rings were tasty as well, but not so health....too oily!

What used to be a great Morgantown restaraunt has turned into a trainwreck. In the last two times I've been there: 1. The entire party got food poisoning. We all ate different entrees, and did not share an entire appetizer, so multiple dishes had to have caused the issue. 2. After waiting 35 minutes to be seated, we waited over an hour for our food. After complaining to a manager that our easily prepared chicken entrees were still MIA, we received them in a less than pleasant fashion. Sides like coleslaw were actually hot from being under the heating lamps, while the chicken tenders and pasta were soggy and not even warm. I used to thoroughly enjoy Cheddars for it's good prices and quality food. However, in the last year, service has continually gotten worse, and the food is becoming unappetizing.

One of our favorite stops when travelling through Morgantown. We like this location better than the one near Wheeling WV. Food was served fast and hot and service was friendly and good.

Really, really bad. Horrible service and with an attitude, greasy food, warm beer, high prices... do I need to continue? Go somewhere else - there are plenty of meh chains around this place or go to the Sheetz nearby and grab a good sandwich and pay less...

First time going here. Very large seating area. We were seated immediately. Very nice atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly. The food was outstanding, prices were nice. Dessert was awesome. The whole experience was amazing!

We had a late lunch there yesterday. This is the first time I have been to Cheddars in Morgantown, West Virginia. Our waitress, Jasmin, was so warm and attentive, but not too attentive. She brought extra drinks without us having to ask and all on the house. She even offered to give us to-go cups of beverages for the road. I was truly pleased with her service. The food was also good, but a little too salty for me personally. I had grilled fish tacos that had an awesome tartar sauce that had a dill flavor. And Cheddar's homemade coleslaw was Spot On and delicious. I would buy a gallon of that, if I could, and take it home and I am very picky about cole slaw. My bf had the outrageous Monty Cristo, an incredibly unhealthy, but delicious, deep-fried sandwich with fries. The sandwich comes with an amazing raspberry jam for dipping. We sat in the main dining room and I had a great view of the large and lovely fish tank that takes up a wall of space. The main dining room also features a cool, Southern-looking ceiling fan that evokes times gone by, bamboo, and the tropics, all at once. Visually, the interior is stunning. Even the ladies room is lined with slate tile and features marble counters. Yes, I noticed the bathroom features, so sue me. ;-) We also had chips and salsa and our total tab was about $20. I thought this was a great price for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere at Cheddar's. I will definitely go back to Cheddars in Morgantown, WV.

After two terrible customer service experiences at Cheddars and a year later, we decided to give this location one more chance. After all, the first ten experiences were outstanding. Upon entering, we were seated immediately. Drink order taken four min. later and delivered a couple min. thereafter. Our appetizer arrived quickly as well AND when we were low on chips, our server dropped off a plateful without bring asked. ALRIGHT, I think, they're back on their game! Our food was good. Not great. After ordering, it took almost 30 min. for food to arrive. Although I wasn't bothered by this delay (great company), it was too long. The real downside was the servers shirt. It was dirty....both food and...just not clean.

This restaurant is clean & nice. There is a large aquarium that separates the bar area from the restaurant. The amazing thing about this restaurant is the great prices! You can get a 1/2lb burger for under $5 served with a side. Also, most dishes are very reasonable like steak & chicken fingers or chicken Alfredo for under $20. The portions are big too! You could definitely share an entree between two people. I'm so glad we found this place!

I know I give a lot of good reviews, but generally I don't go out of my way to review unless a place is either really amazing, or exceedingly terrible. I was working in Morgantown from July until late December and Cheddar's became one of my favorite spots. I was staying at a hotel the entire time, and going out to eat became almost a chore. I loved this place! I only had poor service one time out of countless times of eating there. The service was far better than the close-by Chilli's and their prices were much, much cheaper. I was actually surprised at how cheap their prices were...The fact that two people can get in and out for under $25 bucks including a tip? Ridiculous! (And I usually tip 20% or more) The food is always pretty fresh - their croissants are amazing,...I love the way they make their onion rings, reminds me of a tiny place out in East, Texas. (Not the typical gross batter-dipped). Be careful though, if you order the onion rings make sure you have at least four people to mow down on them, because it's a HUGE plate. When my boyfriend came to visit for a few weeks, he really enjoyed their catfish. I'd pretty much recommend anything I ate there. If you just want a regular sized burger - order off the kids menu and customize it. Their regular burgers are just too big for me.

I've been to Cheddar's a few times and haven't had a bad experience yet! The prices here are reasonable and the food is fantastic! Fun atmosphere and great drink menu=happy people. I've enjoyed eating at Cheddar's everytime I go. Keep it up!

One of my favorite places in Morgantown. So many great memories here; birthdays, anniversaries, and just drinki it up days because we just needed a drink to relax from classes. If ever in Morgantown or nearby stop here and try anythingoff the menu! You wont be dissappointed especially with the ribs but since i've tried everything on the menu I can honestly say nothing is bad!

Staple dinner every time I came into town. I wish they would expand to Boston or California! I love Cheddars! Pain Killer is a great drink! Food is awesome! Haven't had a bad meal there every! Good value! Can't wait to find another one!

Cheddar's is your typical chain restaurant, serving a variety of dishes ranging from steaks, to pasta dishes, to salads. It closely resembles Applebees in terms of pricing and atmosphere. A large group of us went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I went with a half rack of hickory ribs and a cup of tortilla soup. The rubs were average, certainly edible, but nothing spectacular. I doubt they were really "smoked." The tortilla soup was tasty, but on the small side even for a cup. My wife had the buffalo chicken wrap: breaded buffalo tenders, cheese, a tangy sauce, rolled in a tomato tortilla. Again, not bad, but nothing to be excited about. On the plus side, the portions were more than enough. Almost everyone had a fair amount of food left. You certainly won't leave hungry. Cheddar's isn't bad, but don't expect to be wowed by the experience.
