They have a ton of things on their menu that I'd love to try, but I'm told that you really can't go wrong here! Rocco's Little Italy a cute little diner-lookin' establishment staffed by super sweet and friendly people. You can get 9" hoagies or opt for more pasta (e.g. lasagna, chicken parm, fettucine alfredo, spaghetti etc.). If you want a hoagie and are watching your carbs, I believe I saw a little sign that says you can put it on a bed of greens instead, which is a nice touch! I was sent on a mission to pick up lunch, so I went with Sleep With The Fishes ((fried fish with provolone cheese, tartar sauce, lettuce + tomatoes), which is pretty much like fish n' chips in sandwich form, but without the chips. (I couldn't not order that after seeing such an awesome name for a sandwich.) I got Sammy the Bull (ground chuck with cheese, peppers, tomatoes, American cheese) for my preceptor. They were super delicious and very filling! Twas a little difficult to not give into a food coma later on in the afternoon, but was it worth it? Most definitely. Prices are very reasonable, and they were really quick!

Very surprising. Had the Lasagna and it was great. Fantastic price and serving size was very generous. Menu in store is a little different than website but food was very good. A great bargain for Huntington. I'll be back for sure. Great staff also!

My "Signiore Ernie and Luigi" sandwich was a perfectly made Italian sub/hoagie/grinder, loaded with prosciutto, capicola, ham and salami, on a toasted-just-right bowl. My companions enjoyed their "The Boss" (grilled rib eye sandwich) and chicken parmesan (note: side salad is free when you dine-in, extra when ordering take-out), Funky retro-diner interior, friendly service. Definitely stopping here again.

I love this place... The food is awesome and so is the customer service. I try to hit this place up at least once a week. I get The Boss double steak with no tomato and it is on point.

So when Rocco's, the fine dining establishment about 20 minutes west in Ceredo, shuts its doors at night there's always Little Italy, it's late night diner counterpart, to satisfy any italian craving you might be having strolling down 4th ave. in the middle of the night. And that's not to say you shouldn't eat there earlier, because you certainly should, but this is just the most likely time that you'll be there. June (sp?) and his wife work harder than anyone I know. They are the heart and soul of Little Italy and are always whipping up the italian staple dishes that we've filled our bellies with for years. Lasagna, Chicken Parm, Spaghetti, you can't go wrong.

I travel quite a bit and have lived in several large cities. I have never had Italian food as good as Rocco's. From the Ravioli in vodka sauce to the Italian Creme Cake, I have never had a bad meal. Always a treat whenever I am in Huntington. Eat local!

I used to hate this place because the dishes on the menu really aren't my style. Now that I've been in Huntington for ten years, it has really grown on me. I love the old guy and his wife. It is so fun to walk in and watch them lovingly bicker at each other. I love the old seats and table; they make me feel like I'm stepping back in time to when things were a bit more simple. I love the food. I don't know if I love the food for the sake of the food itself, or the fact that the food brings out the best emotions in me.

It's late. You're hungry. Why settle for a drive thru or chain when you can hop on in here and get tasty Italian food? I can only attest to the "late night menu," but I'm not mad about it because the lasagna is all I really need! I like the chicken parm, too.

This is s cute diner, not a fine Italian restaurant. The food is OK, great for the price. The owner is great, friendly and welcoming.

Great place for a sandwich at lunch. I always have the Underboss (Italian sausage hoagie with peppers, onions and marinara). Hot off the grill and excellent! Friendly staff.

This is the only great restaurant in the tri-state. Never had anything but exceptional food and service. This is where I take out of towners and they all rave. I've had Italians from New York City tell me it's the best Italian-American food they've had. When I got back from Italy last summer I headed to Rocco's.

I love Rocco's Little Italy. It is my favorite place in Huntington. I always try to eat here when I am in town. The Chicken Parmesan is the best. It is a small "hole in the wall" type of place, but it is perfect and the prices are great. The owner and his wife are always great and very courteous.

I can't imagine why it's taken me so long to review Rocco's. My apartment in college was right across the street from this place, so I was there regularly. Chicken parmesan has been forever ruined for me, as I've never found any that can come close to the deliciousness of Rocco's. If I'm ever forced to choose my last meal, that would be it. The spaghetti SPC (sausage, peppers, and cheese) comes in at a very close second though. Not sure of the hours now, but they used to stay open until like 4am on the weekends, so it was a great place to end up after a night out. The owner was really nice and cared about the quality and presentation of the food. It's hard to recall a time when he wasn't there. If I ever go back to Huntington, this will be one of my first stops.

I love this joint! I wish I could eat there more often. =( Alas, I don't visit WV near as much as I did in the past. Rocco's is right beside Tat-Nice Tattoos, a place where I get a lot of work done, and this is a favorite stop of mine for lunch or dinner. The spaghetti is good, but I'd go with the fettuccine alfredo, it's uh maze ing. And the place is cheap!!! Five or six bucks for most of this stuff!

  • Mike B.

A true dinner, go with the lasagna. I don't live in WV anymore and I miss it. The sause is great. I think the main Rocco's is in Kenova, WV. If you are in town looking for a nice local place (20 minutes outside Huntington) I'd highly recommend. On Friday and Saturday nights it can get busy in the Kenova locatiion (call ahead and get reservation).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
