Been here a few times for "light" meals. By this I mean a slice of pizza and maybe something else. The slices are 1/6 of a pie. They have them on the counter and warm them up, so they are hot but not piping hot so as to burn the roof of your mouth, but what more should you expect when you order just one slice! 3 of 5* Like my review of King's--Martinsburg, I find these pizzas are cheesy, for sure. But one slice is all I can handle now. I don't get the reflux I experienced with pizza from Mbg location. I have also been to King's--Inwood, but between the three this location is tops. For lunch, wife and I ordered one slice of pizza each plus an Antipasto dinner salad to share--"Our signature house salad topped with chopped ham, Genova salami and provolone cheese." They also have black and green olives, red onions, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, and probably a few other goodies I don't remember. They brought two plates piled high --lots of protein-- and it was so much we each took home half in a box and that was dinner with a little left over home-made pasta from yesterday. What we each got was comparable to one dinner salad anywhere else. The house dressing is a vinegar and oil with seasonings--EXCELLENT. 5 of 5* I was noticing too going to the restroom that other plates were piled very high. The portions on all entrees here are HUGE. The dining room is small (much smaller than Inwood), but it's very clean and contemporary. 4 of 5* This is definitely a place that my wife insists we stop in when we go along Route 9 and I agree. The other leading contenders in the area (IMHO, Anthony's and Ledo's) each have their own unique preparation and purpose. Anthony's excels on carryout, not dining in; Ledo's for mild sauce and interesting topping options such as prosciutto. Although the menu prices here (as noted in the other review, too) are a bit higher, the menu offers more choices than the others mentioned, plus the huge portions justify the pricing...easily two adults could share an appetizer and one meal and still feel well satisfied. When we return, we plan to try other menu offerings. What caught my eye was a fellow that had Lingini with White/Red Clam Sauce: Sauteed garlic in olive oil, fresh clams with linguine pasta, choice of white or red sauce. They also have a whole section of the menu devoted to ravioli including Cannelloni Veal Spinach, Lobster Filled Ravioli, and Maryland Blue Crab Ravioli. Other house specialties are Veal Marsala, Jumbo Tiger Shrimp Clams Fradiavolo, and seafood combination dishes. Italian isn't wife's first choice for dining out, but King's-Hedgesville is now, so go figure. Will take pix next time and post.
