One of our favorite places to eat. Great food; personable service. The hot dogs are excellent; homemade fries are very good. The menu has something for everyone. If the good food isn't enough, you can also sit on one of two logs carved and painted to look like pigs. Closed for the winter. Hoggie Doggie's is another reason to look forward to summer.

Hoggie Doggie's is probably the most charming place to eat in the Minocqua area. There's no indoor seating, so it's not open year round. Order at the window and wait for them to call your name to pick up your food, then sit at a picinic bench, in a gazebo, or on a pink pig bench. They have one (or more) soft serve flavors of the week in addition to vanilla, chocolate, and twist, a variety of uncommon sundaes, and other frozen treats like slushes. They also have a wide variety of food, mostly of the fried or sandwich type, though the menu does include bright green salads (no iceberg here!). I like their Chicago dogs, and have liked all the ice cream. My boyfriend got a pork loin sandwich and it was pretty dry. Thier ' ho-made' french fries are pretty good.

We were stuck without a clue where to go when we stumbled across this gem. I had the patty melt, which was amazing (especially with their sauce). Wife had the chicago style hot dog and loved it too. The fries were amazing. Can't wait to go back for more. The only bad thing is that there is no place to sit and eat but outside or in your car. Otherwise it is a sure-fire 5 star rating.

Flavor of the day was Dreamsicle, so I didn't head for anything unusual on the menu, but my cone was creamy and delicious. Others in our group had sundaes and this weird twisty cone thing where the flavor winds around the edge? No idea how it works, but it looked awesome and they said it was tasty. Cute little drive-in. Fits perfectly in Minocqua. Lots of seating. What else could you want?

HD is open for the season! Hubby and I stopped in for dinner on our way to Rhinelander. He got an Italian beef, I got a Chicago dog and we split fries and a shake. All of it was very good, especially the fries. Stop by and enjoy a fun place for food and ice cream!

Our camp ground was not far from Hoggie Doggie's and I sometimes Wonder if we stay at our campground because my father is in so much love with this place. The overall appearance of HD's is your basic ice cream stop, however it is more then that. The food is good, well proportioned and affordable. I usually had a wrap and never really had a bad one. As for the ice cream, there is a huge selection of different flavors that never got old. If I could give HD's 4 1/2 I would due to the fact that you can get a 7lb gag of ice for $1.00 and when you are camping, that is very important. I look forward to going back this time next year again!

This is must visit during the summer time. If you are looking for hotdogs and soft serve ice cream then this place does the trick. Very kid friendly. Fun atmosphere. Only issue is placing an order can be over-complicated. It can be hard to tell where lines start and end.

That peanut butter crunch sundae and the fries are pretty yumm. I also tried the cake batter something-or-other soft serve flavor of the week when we stopped here last weekend and that was good too. I'm sure I'll be back. This seems like a much-beloved local summer stop for both tourists and locals. Kind of like my favorite DQ that I grew up on back home. It's pretty cute and quintessentially mid-summer-esque. I have to say though, it's a bit pricey for ice cream and hot dogs. . . Gotta support that Minocqua summer tourism, I suppose.

Old school drive-up type place. Almond Joy Parfait, ho-made fries, and deep fried mac & cheese all amazing! Very quick and friendly service.

Love going to this place when we vacation in Minocqua which is a few times a year. Love the food and the service is always with a smile, even when they are busy, which is quite often. Walk up window and outdoor seating. A gem in the northwoods. Will definitely be back.
