I had been craving meatball subs for a week. Like I would wake up and instantly desire the warm feeling of mozzarella melted over juicy meatballs in my mouth. But other things got in the way. First it was Bel Air, then Leff's Lucky Town for Fish Fry, and somehow seven days passed and I didn't fill this urge. But then it was tonight. Saturday. At 6:30 my partner and I decided to indulge in subs. Subway? Nasty. Cousins? For nostalgia purposes I only eat ham and provolone there. No, what I wanted some amazing giant meatballs at Glorioso. I can drive across town for meatballs. Yes, let's do this! Wait. Closed at 6? On a Saturday? Whatever. Ok, so we'll just do the Public Market. Hard to get in and out, but we're dedicated people. What the hell. Closes in 30 minutes. Don't places in Milwaukee want money on the weekends? I'm literally trying to hand someone my money and I can't. Businesses: just because you want off on the weekends doesn't mean the world stops eating. So I come to trusty Yelp and I look up "meatball sub near 53208" and the first thing that comes up is Jersey Mikes. And woah. It is even closer than Culvers which = quicker time to get home and stuff face. Go there. Get greeted awesomely. And meet Ray, who provided the most caring and genuine customer service I have experienced in a long time. Everything looked clean and fresh. My partner got a roast beef giant of sorts and a got a giant meatball sub with onions. The meat tasted amazing and I was happy for exactly what I craved. And I have more for later. But back to Rayven, who made my sub, and Ray, the guy working the register. They were really great and seemed happy to work with each other and be at work in general. It made the experience really great. My partner is going back to tip them right now, actually. I don't carry cash and he only had so much and we want to make sure those two employees know they are appreciated. I'm a happy, meatball sub stuffed lady.
Probably the only pastrami sandwich I haven't liked. Overall, I don't think Jersey Mike's is good. Pastrami is my favorite deli meat of all time and I still didn't enjoy my sandwich. I don't know what it is...maybe the bread, maybe the quality of meat, but jersey mike's is not for me. Of all the sub places, I would rank jersey mike's below subway and cousins...and FAR below Jimmy John's, if that puts it in perspective for anyone.
This location is in a strip mall on Miller Parkway, near National Blvd. Entering and exiting the parking lot is easy and there is plenty of parking available in the lot. The store itself is bright, new and very clean. This was my first time visiting a Jersey Mike's. I was glad I came here. Jersey Mike's sandwiches are definitely superior to those at Cousins or Subway. The quality of product rates with Pot Belly, but it is different and better, IMHO. At Jersey Mikes, all orders are built with fresh cut meats; literally; i.e., they take a slab/roast/brick of your choice of meats/cheeses on a slicing machine and cut it up, fresh, for your sandwich. For sure, they put a lot more meat/contents on the sandwiches than any of the aforementioned competitors, a reason that the price maybe as much as a buck or two more expensive. They have "add chips and a drink" specials and the beverages are "help yourself." I really like this place!
Great fresh food, great service. The whole condor of fast food Chinese is brilliant. The only negative might be that they can run low on food. It just means that they are busy. The good news is that the food you get is that much more fresh when you get it. Would always recommend
It's been a long time since i came across a panda, not since my Ca days. But i was happy to come across this one which is great. i took stars off because the rice was very dry and so was the chicken didn't realized that until i got home. But overall it's fast food
My partner loves Panda....like anytime he gets to pick where we eat we have to go. If you ask me, good chinese food is hard to find in MKE so I don't even really mind Panda because I know there are a few things that I always like. You basically get a plate of a ton of food. My favorite thing to do is ask for half steamed veggies half brown rice. The steamed veggies make eating panda seem not quite as bad for me. So glad they added this to their menu. If you are trying to pay attention to calories they do a good job of posting the amount of calories per every dish which really help me make better choices. The staff is always friendly at this location. They will let you sample before making final selections and if they run out of a dish they will make one up fresh for you and bring it to your table. Looking for quick food...this is your place.
What I love about this place, is they offer free samples, so you're happy with whatever you ultimately choose. This was my third visit, and I ordered the 2 meat chicken breast and pulled pork. In the past I only got the pulled pork(it being my favorite bbq item), but, in the mood for something new, I asked about the chicken breast and was promptly offered a generous sample. O...M...G! It was incredible! Tender, moist, with a flavor that is out of this world! I was sorry I'd included the pulled pork this time, after trying the chicken! My sides were the bbq pork and beans, which were SO spicey, my mouth was on fire! Also got the waffle fries. The cook made them fresh, right after I'd ordered them, so they were piping hot...this is pretty much a rarity, being served hot waffle fries in any of the other restaurants we've had them at. I was a bit discouraged with their sides on my past visits, either finding them way too spicy for my taste, or it was terribly dried out from sitting in a warmer all day. I've pretty much decided to skip any sides in the future, and just pig out on the awesome meats they offer. Everyone I've encountered there has been super friendly and helpful. I get the impression they really like their jobs! One way to improve the Dickey's "experience" would be to post their menu on the wall as you come in. That way, while standing in line, people can get an idea of what they want to order before they get to the order taker.
I would so like to rate this place as highly as I did in my earlier review because it's the only Texas-style BBQ in the area. There are still positives in tonight's experience. The chicken breast and brisket sandwiches for the six of us were good quality, although the greasy onion rings and tasteless waffle fries would not encourage a return. However, the kitchen/servi ng area was practically chaotic. At 5;30 on a Friday night, they no longer had mac and cheese or cole slaw! The slicer and the other servers clearly couldn't handle six orders, and the wait time because of the slow slicer was ridiculous. The place needs supervision!!! No one seemed to be in charge. A place like this that wants to handle large orders for tailgate parties and catering events will not make it with incompetence like this.
I've been eating Dickey's BBQ all my life so it's great to finally find some good Texas BBQ in Milwaukee. I've been over 6 times in the past month because the food quality, service, atmosphere is consistently good. Texas BBQ is all about beef brisket and sausage with great sauces. Both pass the test at Dickey's and the ribs are just as good. If you want good ole Texas BBQ, go to Dickey's and enjoy.
Go early, if you can!! I wanted to beat the lunch crowd and encounter the employees before their smiles tuned into frowns after having to service jerks who think they're ordering five star pizza being prepared by Emeril Lagasse. I'm so glad I went early! The employees were friendly and my bacon pizza took about 15-20 minutes to make and it was delicious. Greasy, salty, artery clogging, crispy, chewy and covered in gooey cheese. It was better than I expected. While waiting I was offered a free show... 1st show- Customer: I'm here to pick up my pizza Employee: Name, please? Customer: (insert name here) Employee: I'm sorry, Ma'am, but I just discarded those pizzas. Customer: Why the hell would you do that? Employee: You said you'd be here 20 minutes ago and it's been more than 45 minutes. It's a rule that we have to discard the pizzas after a certain amount of time. I couldn't serve you those pizzas. They didn't look good anymore, either. You would've been mad. Customer: Well, hell, I'm mad now. Employee: I can start another order. It'll be about 15 minutes. Customer: (insert profanities) 2nd Show- Customer-Ayo, Gimme dat lunch special. Employee: Cheese or - Customer- Da lunch special yo. Employee- (grabs a box) Customer-You ain't got dat pep? Employee- (small sigh) 3rd show Customer- Gimme 4 pizzas Employee-Sausage, Pepperoni or Cheese? Customer-I don't give a damn. I just want pizza. Employee-(grabs 4 boxes) Customer- I don't want no damn cheese, gimme that right there. What's that? Employee- Cheese, Sir. Customer- Gimmme that cheese. Employee-( switches the cheese with a cheese) Customer-How much are these damn pizzas? Employee- $5 Customer-Damn, $5? Shit, I could go buy a pizza from Walmart.
False advertising if u have to wait 45min for a pepperoni pizza. 12people ahead are u serious? People in the back on their phones and only one female preping pizza. Seems like 3 gals just left on break and I see no pizza HOT AND READY? You can't walk too many people waiting. Will not return.
This place is a pure disaster. I am going to look past the quality of food because it is a national chain that everyone is pretty familiar with. The experience is an absolute nightmare. You would think they were handing out golden tickets to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory if you came here on a Friday afternoon. There is a line out the door of non-English speaking clientele ordering pizzas 5-10 at a time. The staff, for the most part, is less than friendly. They screw up orders on the regular, and can't seem to grasp the concept of Hot N Ready, even though it is printed on the box. Avoid at all costs. Unless, of course, you enjoy making your Friday just a little worse than it was before you waited in a packed lobby for a sub par pizza.
