What is seriously not to love about frozen yogurt?!! YoMamas is the best! As a nanny having a key spot for the kids to enjoy going too that is not only delicious but fun and somewhat heathy. Free coloring sheets with a rainbow box of crayons! Serve your own soft serve frozen yogurts with weekly changes to the menu! They also provide DAIRY FREE products! Which is huge for I care for a child who is allergic to dairy! And we cannot forget to mention the toppings!! From my favorite cheesecake bites, cookie dough chunks, gummy bears, animal crackers, an adornment of cereals and you cannot go without hot fudge and caramel! This place hits all the sweet spots! YoMamas also has a small cafe with drinks and small tapestry items. Speaking of hitting the spot! Right now at YoMamas if your bowl of froyo weighs to the "perfect weight" you will get your bowl for FREE!!! We have won twice now!

Our local little frozen yogurt shop right in the heart of Tosa. The decor is cute and the place is always clean. They have plenty of seating and add some tables outside in the warmer weather. The frozen yogurt and toppings are all self serve and priced by the ounce. They allow samples from the machines before you start to concoct your own individual sundae masterpiece. The frozen yogurt is delicious and the flavor variety is usually wide enough that I can find something to spark my interest. The best part about coming here is toppings bar. Candy pieces, cereal flakes, chocolate peanut butter cups, sprinkles, strawberries...you name it they have it. Just don't forget to top it off with a cherry. My biggest complaint is that it can get expensive. Our sundaes tend to run $5-$6 a piece. It's not so bad right now, as we can share, but as my child becomes older, this is going to turn into a $20 treat stop real soon. Ahhh, the price we pay for customizing the perfect sundae.

$3 any size on Weds night!!!! My sister's friend told us so we decided to drop in on our way to Ruby Tap - healthy dinner options. Good life choices. Bottom line, they had Island Banana and Dutch Chocolate - grabbed some raspberries and kiwi and I was in heaven. The fro-yo is really good here and that banana was killer. They had a few other flavors that sounded really good too. Tons of fruit toppings, cereals, candies - even Valentines hearts! Absolutely worth it for $3 and Ruby Tap even allowed us to bring it in and have it with our wine. There's actually a door connecting the two from inside, someone is very clever!

I love frozen yogurt and this location of the 3 I've been to has been my favorite, all thanks to the banana island flavour which is the best. But besides that the weigh and pay model is pretty stupid. You think you're getting value, but you aren't. My frozen yogurt which was to the brim. Probably a pint and a half was 9 dollars. Thats not value. So minus their business model, frozen yogurts daaaa bomb.

While there's not much to say about Yo Mama!, there's nothing bad to say about it either. The location is convenient, by the downtown area of Wauwatosa, and it is extremely clean and cozy. I can only imagine how busy it gets in summer, but in this chilly weather, there was no wait, and the service was fast and friendly. I loved the cinnamon roll frozen yogurt, and I had to consciously reign myself in from going crazy on the toppings. There are almost TOO many choices, and while the toppings are semi organized, I almost wish they had suggestions for which would go well together. It was a bit of an overload of a good thing, I definitely want to go back next time I'm in town to try a different combination!

Always a treat for my kids. So many topping choices. Feels clean and the sample cups let you try what you want. You can sample on your own and not have to ask them for the samples. I rarely add toppings because it's great without all the stuff on top, but for those that like all the toppings, you don't be disappointed. I have a child that has a severe sugar tooth, and he's always happy with his choices.

Always great! So many toppings and good flavors. The kids would live there if they could.

This is exactly what Tosa needed! The best part of their fantastic fro-yo selection and toppings, to Dr. Seuss chair seating, is that it is located next to a wine bar. (I like weird combinations, alright?!) Great place to take kids, yourself, a hot date, or the aging parents. Tasty, clean, wholesome fun, and I love that it is local as well! (as far as I could tell from their website).

I like this place a lot. The atmosphere is nice and casual. It's good for all age types. Even though i don't have any kids, I like that there is a corner for kids to color and draw. There's plenty of seating options inside. It's pretty clean; usually one of the staff members is wiping off the counters and tidying up. It's fairly quiet inside so it's easy to have a conversation, unless the place is full of children. I really like that they offer sample cups so you don't have to commit to a flavor you're unsure about. I wish they'd offer more vegan options that weren't fruit based, but at least they offer something! There's a good selection of flavors and toppings and some options are constantly changing to add variety, which is fantastic. I actually switched froyo places- I used to go to a spot downtown, but a friend of mine asked me to go to Yo Mama's with her and I haven't looked back since.

Wait a second. I haven't written a review for this fine, fine frozen yogurt establishment? That's insane! I'm here at least once week now that I live in the neighborhood. I love it here - great location with plenty of outdoor seating for my very targeted dog walks. And the options - oh the options! I'll admit, they are super overwhelming at times (especially when their oodles and oodles of children), but it's worth the dilemma. Or do what I do and send your significant other in to make your delicious creation. :-)

YUMMY! I love Yo Mama! Some of my favorite flavors I have encountered so far: Mint, Cheesecake, Raspberry, Dutch Chocolate, and the ultimate: RED VELVET! Plus the toppings bars are awesome - everything under the sun that you could ever want to put on your fro-yo! The only negatives are parking & seating are frequently hard to find, and it is a little more on the pricey side. Two thumbs up Yo Mama, two thumbs up!

Love this place, love this location, love this decor, and love that FRO YO is so hot right now. FYI, they do sell pints in the back, in the biggest shmorgasbord of flavors...be sure to ask at the register and bring home some for everyone....or just yourself.

This place is yummy! If you know some kids take them here. They will love you for it. I love all the different flavors and toppings. Very tasty! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that parking is a challenge and sometimes when I go it is too busy. You have to wait to get stuff, there isn't enough seating, etc. Also, if you bring a couple kids you are go to end up spending a good bit of money. This pay by the ounce stuff adds up. Overall, I really like this place and I will definitely be back. My niece is obsessed! However, I try to avoid this place during peak froyo hours.

Wow...this place would NOT have business at all if it was in another other city that have yogurt places like Pinkberry, Yogurtland, Red Mango...etc. Very disappointed...first of all...45cents/oz?!? Really? that's almost 10cents more an oz than other places like yogurtland...when you get a lot of yogurt like i do with toppings...it adds up. The tart flavors?...kinda gross...it was just wrong...it wasn't really tart. It just tasted like frozen yogurt, and by yogurt, I mean the yogurt you buy in the yogurt isle in the grocery store. Tart fro-yo should have a slightly acidic taste to it that almost tickles your tongue. Think of those small asian yogurt drinks (yakult). They do have a variety of things to choose from and you can have split flavors. But more of the flavors are just your typical 'fro-yo' flavors. Nothing spectacular...I guess the authentic tart type of yogurt is not a popular thing here in the midwest. I'll stick to what MKE is known for, frozen custard.

Yo Mama is the epitome of the froyo phenomenon. It is cheery and bright on the inside and located in a convenient location in Tosa Village. They have a variety of delicious froyo flavors, including tart, no sugar added, dairy free, traditional, etc. My faves include original tart, cake batter, peanut butter, etc. The spoons and cups are adorable. The toppings are varied and plentiful. I like putting some mochi and mini peanut butter cups in my cup before adding the froyo so that I can savor the toppings after eating the froyo. There is also a frequent visitor card system, and I've almost earned my free $5 credit!

I want an Oompa Loompa NOW! I ended up eating homemade chips n salsa for dinner tonight after a long weekend of working on a research paper, and realized i deserved a treat! Having heard all the rave about Yo Mama I texted some Tosa friends and was on my way. I was overwhelmed at first, but the friendly workers smiled and explained the process to me. Which starts with a variety of fro-yo (some fat and sugar free) to serve....SELF SERVE! Who doesn't dream of grabbing the handle of a soft serve machine and creating a masterful swirl atop the bowl! And then the toppings.... I think next time i'm filling my bowl first with toppings and topping it off with fro-yo! You think of it...they have it. I started off very classic with a dutch chocolate and alpine vanilla combo. Atop the fro-yo i added plenty of marshmallows, cookie dough, and "smores" thingies that were awesome. (i uploaded a picture of my creation). It tasted wonderful, and was fun to assemble. A light-hearted and low-fat treat! I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Love it.

This is a great business in the village of Wauwatosa. It's nicely styled, serves good products (Alterra coffee and bakery), and their selection of frozen yogurts is solid. I'm a longtime fan of Milwaukee's custard joints. It's hard to beat Kopp's or Leon's, so I approached the premise of a frozen yogurt joint with trepidation. The thing is, their yogurts are really good! Today I mixed blueberry and grapefruit with some fresh berries and it was delicious. It doesn't really compete with custard--it occupies a different spot on the dessert spectrum for me. It's a particularly good place to visit after a long walk along the Menomonee River Parkway or through the tree-lines streets of Wauwatosa. Well done,Yo Mama!. Consider me a fan!

FORTY FIVE CENTS PER OUNCE OF WHATEVER YOU PUT IN YOUR CUP. Hmmmm...this got me thinking about what other things costs per ounce. Saffron: $300/oz MLB baseball: $1.75/oz Miller High Life: $0.06/oz Vaseline: $0.23/oz Starbucks coffee: $0.20/oz Salt: $0.18/oz Wisconsin Cheese Curds: $0.84/oz Gasoline: $.03/oz The frozen yogurt was tasty but there are way too many pastel colors and little kids in this place. Great graphic design and marketing concept.

Should my 100th review go to this tasty, yummy, deliciously cute yogurt shop? Oh yes, yes it should. I had been wanting to try Yo Mama! since I heard it was opening and finally did last weekend. My only experience with these type of yogurt shops was in California and I loved them. So glad they are becoming super popular here. I believe Yo Mama was the first in the area, so yay for them! This shop is cute. Nicely decorated and a lot bigger than I thought it would be. There's plenty of seating. The shop was full of families and kids coming from soccer practice and babies and couples and well just about anyone. I love that you can sample their flavors before you commit. We sampled a bunch and they were um, yum! I decided to get the twist of red velvet and cake batter with a few chocolaty toppings. Quite good. I like that you can get something healthy or choose to go the decadent route depending on your mood. The price was reasonable. 6 dollars and some change for two small yogurts. Although I'm sure if you're not careful with toppings, the price could add up. The employees were friendly and good about keeping the place clean and running smoothly. I really liked Yo Mama and you bet I'll be back for more tasty yogurt creations.

This location and the one on the east side are my favorite places to get froyo. No other place compares. My friends and I quite often go on "froyo runs." We usually go later at night before they close at 10 (to avoid the children). I don't mind kids, of course, but parents allow toddlers to grab their own toppings and samples which causes a big mess and I spend a lot of time waiting around to put together my bowl.

I'm not sure how I was so late to the party with this place. My brother got me hooked with a gift card last Christmas and it's become a staple for post dinner dessert runs, girls nights and froyo cravings. They have a ton of different flavors of froyo that change all the time, every topping you could imagine as well as a whole case of Simma's cakes & cookies (YUM!).

Yo Mama! Is SUPER fun. I've been there with the youth group from my church and alone with my husband. Fun on both trips. I was very impressed with the fruit toppings available! BLACKBERRIES! There is seating outside and inside. The inside seating is delightfully whimsical..."Beetlejuice" - ian chairs. OK its a bit pricey. And the line can be a little chaotic with people cutting in line unintentionally or intentionally...but both times I went through the line with excited packs of youth. Can't really blame them for being excited!

Had heard rumors making their way around the south-side of the city that Yo Mama was serving up some tasty fro-yo and offering a whole heap of toppings in a self-serve setting...So, my daughter and I decided to stop in and see what all the buzz was about. We were greeted at the door by a guy named CC who not only showed us the ropes, but offered up incredible suggestions. Clearly, this guy is a master YO-Ologist with years of experience! The friendly service, clean store, and the fact that the soft and inviting voices of Mumford and Sons was wafting down from above made this an excellent experience that we will be repeating again soon.

We stopped here after visiting the Museum of Art. The kids were in the mood for ice cream so we searched for something nearby. It's frozen yogurt. You choose which kind you want or you can mix them. Free samples are available. Then, you put your yogurt in your cup (variety of sizes) and add the toppings. There's hot fudge, hot carmel, cookie dough, brownie bites, different cereals, m & m's and many more candies, fruits, nuts, and much more. Yum! You pay based on the weight.

Love the atmopshere of this place. Yogurt is nice, thick and rich. Would return. Kudos for having crayon and paper for patrons to create masterpieces.

Frozen yogurt stores in California are a dime a dozen. They all have modern, hip, neon colored interiors, most of them are serve yourself, and they all have a plethora of similar fruit, cereal, chocolate toppings to choose from. So it comes down to two things to make one chain stand out over another: the price per oz and the flavor of the yogurt itself. Unfortunately, Yo Mama is unappealing in both of those. I know that there aren't a ton of froyo joints in Milwaukee, so they can afford to charge more and still have good business, but 45 cents is definitely the highest I've seen. Even 40 cents an oz is on the high end to me. But ok, I'll pay a higher price if the quality of the product is reflective of that price. Too bad that the flavors are nowhere near that level. First of all, you have all the random flavors, like carrot cake, cake batter, rootbeer float. These are the kind of flavors that you eat one bite of and can't eat anymore. I don't really care if a froyo place has these flavors because I avoid them anyway and 99% of the time I order plain tart because I feel like it works the best regardless of what toppings you add. It's pretty hard to mess up because it's literally just plain yogurt, which is why I was surprised when I tried it and it tasted BAD. And I mean bad as in I didn't want another bite. This was beyond tart, it was SOUR. It had a stronger sour flavor than the plain yogurt you buy in the grocery store (which I can eat just fine). Same thing with the tropical tart, except that was even worse because it tasted like sour and spoiled pineapple/mango/passion fruit etc. I settled for chocolate, which was pretty weird with some of the toppings I got, but it was the only flavor that I could tolerate in large amounts.

YOOOOOOOOOOO MAMA!!! Is soo..... good. lol Alot of my clients from work have told me this is one of the best yogurts in the city and I believe it! :) Pros: great decor, clean, fresh fruits and many yogurt flavors to try! Also very kid friendly.. They have a little section for kids to draw and hang up their art work. Con: I can't think of any! Lol

Hello tasty frozen snack. I hate downtowns with no structure and too many one way streets. Wauwatosa and Waukesha come to mind. I generally avoid them, so I made someone else drive me to Yo Mama. There are too many options, but fortunately, they let you sample all of them before making a decision. I think there were about a dozen different flavors. So, after sampling, you pick out a cup and fill it up! I had a swirl of kiwi strawberry sorbet and alpine vanilla froyo. Yummy yummy in my tummy. I added a few bits of fresh fruit and some fruit bead looking thing that ended up being too far off the gushers deep end. Then they weigh it, you pay them, and you are on your way. The toppings options really are impressive. I skipped all the cereal, candy, and traditional toppings since I arrived literally when it opened and decided to consider my treat breakfast. In fact, the cashier confirmed this and stated "without any candy or anything, it actually is pretty healthy". Take that, pancakes.

I visited this establishment on a chilly April afternoon based on the glowing recommendations made by literally every single Yelp friend who's been here. They've never steered me wrong in the past, and they continue to make excellent recommendations. Result - I've been back about five times since my initial visit. I'd like to begin this review by stating whoever was responsible for planning the layout of downtown Wauwatosa needs to be resurrected and thoroughly harangued. The street design makes absolutely no sense. Whatevs, from the vanilla to the mango to the red velvet to the strawberry, it's all good. Yeah...you have the option of putting healthy stuff like strawberries, kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, nuts in your cup. I ignore those and load up on gummy bears, oreos, and white chocolate chips. Deal with it. My new go-to spot for frozen dessert.

I love ice cream. Yo mama is located in the village in Tosa. In any summer day, you will find the place filled with children eagerly holding up their yogurt bowls and overwhelmed by the sheer amount of yogurt ice cream in front of them. Seating is difficult to find, but outside there are some tables as well as people just seem to sit on the grass or sidewalk as well. The concept is fun, ice cream by weight. They have different flavors every day, and always a few fat free and at least one sugar free option daily. There are a lot of toppings, some really fun ones like boba, many different types of cereal, marshmallows, crushed up candies. The price is very reasonable. The froyo itself is hit or miss I think. Sometimes quite delicious, at other times, can taste rather boring or watered down, but who cares when you can pile topping after topping on top of it! Overall, a very fun place to take your kids and has very good variety. We don't come here too often because it can be overwhelmingly full at times and like I said, hit or miss with regards to taste.

The taste: Wonderful. Great variety. (I think there's always chocolate and vanilla, but I've also seen red velvet, cake batter, root beer float -which was a delightful surprise, Pomegranate Raspberry Tart, Ginger Lemonade Sorbet, Sweet Coconut, White Chocolate Macadamia, Very Raspberry) The place: cute. vibrant. generally packed, even in 25 degree weather. It closes at 10, and I've seen lines out the door at 9:30, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a late night sweet treat. My face: Enthusiastic and delighted. And stuffed with lots of delicious, low-fat flavors. Go forth and serve yourself.

I will certainly be going here more often now that I tried it. The nutritional facts were clearly posted on the wall right before you hit the food line. I also like the hand sanitizer dispenser at the front of the food line. There were enough gluten free choices to make me happy. I was sad I could not have the red velvet frozen yogurt. Instead, I had dutch chocolate and vanilla. I covered it with pineapple, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and mango. Totally delicious. I used a medium sized cup that was full (mainly from the toppings) and it cost $3.11. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yo Mama! = downtown 'Tosa = another world for me. That's okay though. This place is my new jam. Self-serve. Alright. It's a bit chaotic, but there was a lady overseeing the whole thing. She was really really nice. First, you choose yr size. Then, it's frozen yogurt, most non-fat... with a good number of flavors to choose from. There were about 8 different offerings, and of course, if you want, you can swirl that noise. Swirl it, girl. But here's the thing: CHOICES MAKE ME CRAZY. Diatribe: Once, while listening to the oh-so-awesome Radiolab, I heard that the human brain shuts down when offered too many choices. In essence, that too many choices can equal paralyzing indecision. Welcome to my damn life. Anyways: Sheer volume of topping options = too many choices. A fruit bar with kiwi and strawberry and pineapple and blueberries and some weird juice balls and toasted coconut and etc., etc., and so on and so forth. Nevermind when you turn around there's a candy bar that Wonka himself would swoon over. Little Butterfinger pieces and Nerds and Cinnamon Toast Crunch and sprinkles and Choco bombs and whatever the hell else you could conceive of. I was paralyzed. And weird little scampering teenagers and excited 'Tosa residents swarmed about while I stood in fear. My mister was laughing at me. He knew what was going on. I couldn't. HOW COULD I POSSIBLY CHOOSE? I ended up with: Plain tart and orange tart frozen yogurt topped with strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, and mango juice balls. The man companion had dutch chocolate with some candy thing. I like: this place. I don't like: the confusion and the lack of order in the self-serve area. It's sort of a jungle. I will: be back.

This has to be one of the most simple business concepts ever: 1. Open in a yuppie neighborhood with a ton a kids 2. Choose a location highly accessible to foot traffic 3. Make it kid-friendly 4. Make it healthy 5. Make it easy (self-serve) and make it DELICIOUS 6. Stand back and let the customers pour in!. I don't even feel I need to comment on the product, other reviewers have already done a great job of that, and I agree with all of them. What really impressed me was the amount of foot traffic in the village on a Sunday evening. Hollander was full both inside and out, as was Yo Mama! Businesses like these two and others have really helped to transform Tosa village into a "first choice" when we are thinking of going someplace close to home. Nine years ago when we moved to the village, it was Restorante, Noodles, and the Chancery. The options are so much better and varied now. Thanks again Yo-Mama! and welcome to the community!!

After a big old pizza dinner, I just had to top it off with some self-served frozen yogurt because Yo Mama said I could! And because my brother kept asking if we could go to Yo Mama's house. Besides, it's a healthier treat than Halloween candy. It's located in the cute part of downtown Tosa and set up like any self-serve frozen yogurt place. It's very clean and welcoming. I sampled some Yo, Mango and Peach were yummy. All the flavors were pretty tasty for that matter, but I settled on coconut and pumpkin. The last time I was with my brother getting self-serve yogurt, he filled his cup a little too full of froyo and had a hard time getting topping to fit. Some things never change. FYI they charge by weight, not by cup size...but who's paying? They also have a variety of baked goodies and hot beverages. I'll be back, there aren't too many self-serve froyo places in SE Wisconsin to choose from and it was good.

Our first time we were greeted right away by a super nice outgoing guy who gave us the run down to build your own dish. They have 8 flavors daily and tons of toppings. My favorite are the boba balls and mochi. You can sample all the flavors. The machine gives you a generous sample. I ended up getting a mix of Angle Food Cake and Vanilla (both fat free)cause I wanted just a plan base to have more fun with the toppings. The tart reminded me of greek yogurt. The ginger lemonade was also very tasty. The second time it was like the Yo Mama gods were listening. I was really craving an shamrock shake from McD's all day. Put wanted something i could eat with a spoon with toppings and way healthier. That is exactly what they had with the Irish Mint (fat free). I put the mint on the bottom cause I still wanted vanilla and strawberry with fruity pebbles, candy hearts, marshmallows and mochi. An easy way to please anyone in the family from chocolate lovers, to the weight cautious. They have a nutritional sheet posted. So you know what the calories, fat and other fact in the flavor

Love Yo Mama! It's literally blocks away from home and a nice healthier alternative. I am a Pinkberry girl and the Yo Mama original tart compares well with that. They have non tart flavors if you're a fan of that, as well as a no sugar and no dairy option. All the nutritional info is clearly posted. The store itself is clean & modern with Eames style chairs and some outdoor seating. The frogurt line can get a little sticky underfoot as the place is overrun with kids and families. My husband had a chocolate and mint swirl and liked it a lot. Feeling virtuous, I choose the original non fat variety and promptly covered it in about 500 calories worth of candy. Yum, yum, yum! I will be back many, many times!

Welcome to the DIY Fro-yo shop! I was a bit put off at first, and felt overwhelmed and confused by the whole DIY "thing", but my friend insisted it would be ok... And let me tell you, after my dutch chocolate and coconut swirl topped with cinnamon toast crunch (YES.. YOU HEARD ME RIGHT.. CINNAMON.TOAST.CRUNCH), hot fudge, and oreos everything was MORE than ok. I'm even using a lot of caps - that's how great it was. Thanks Mama... And thankfully you are not too close because well, I'd have a Yo Mama addiction!

After what feels like ages of hearing the hype about Yo Mama!, I finally made the pilgrimage to Tosa to check it out. And it was totally worth it. Pros: -Variety of yogurts ranging from chocolatey to plain-ish to fruit to seasonal (I had pumpkin - woot!) -Choice of portion sizes ranging from a small treat to a larger cup -LOTS of toppings. Like, whoa. -Clean, nicely decorated, pleasant to visit -Friendly staff -Decent prices/value Cons: -It can get a little chaotic. I think we accidentally ended up there after a high school football game. Oops. -The DIY fro-yo thing still seems to be settling in with Milwaukee, which results in lots of customers standing, staring blankly at the options, overwhelmed by the opportunities that lie ahead. Not a problem or a fault of Yo Mama!, but adds to the challenge of efficiency when the store gets busy. If you're in a hurry, try going during off-peak hours. Overall, LOVED it. I got that warm feeling of foodie contentment as I sat at the counter savoring my pumpkin yogurt with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham cracker crumbs. I definitely plan to visit again in the future.

Had a bit of a mind explosion on my first visit here recently. I had just gotten back from a trip to the West Coast, where I experienced the most divine ginger lemonade frozen yogurt at a pay-by-the-weight spot. Days after I'd gotten home, I was still longing for the exotic tart of that combo and the sun of my trip, and remembered, "Hey, I should try that Yo Mama place." Mental fireworks went off when I got there and found out they had GINGER FREAKING LEMONADE yogurt! Just like on my trip, right here in my town. Oh. My. God. I did the same combo as previously: gummi bears and Oreos. Trust me, it works, and it's delicious. The crunch, chew and tart cold are heaven. I plan to go back asap to hopefully catch my beloved ginger lemonade while it's still around. Not sure yet how often they change out flavors. Got to try a bit of the tart swirl as well, seemed delish. They have crazy toppings alongside all the classics. Tons of candy and fruit of course, but also cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch!) and strange Asian-seeming things like strawberry gel balls. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost. I was a little worried I could get in trouble with the "pay by weight" style. But it was only $9 for my husband and I to both have large cups with multiple toppings. A tasty treat in a great location. They need more outdoor seating, but otherwise fab. They were playing fun music, and indoor seating seemed decent.

Yummmmm. I never realized I could be such a fan of frozen yogurt. I grew up in the 80's, so thoughts of the weird-ass TCBY (remember that place?) immediately came to mind when I heard about this place selling frozen yogurt. Fortunately this place was nothing like those TCBYs I remember, & that's a very good thing. We stopped by Yo Mama after 7pm one weeknight evening. The line was out the door! Note to self: go during off-peak hours. The line did move quickly; however, you'll want to avoid the larger crowds to give yourself time to choose among the many delicious flavors of frozen yogurt & 35 toppings. On my first visit, they had Heath Toffee and Reese's Peanut butter flavors, in addition to other unique flavors & the standard tart, vanilla & chocolate frozen yogurt. They even had some non-dairy options! I love that they allow you to sample any of the flavors before you decide which to buy, but it probably wasn't a great idea to put the fro-yo machines nearest to the door. I haven't seen anyone walk out with samples, but I can see how it would be possible. The toppings. Oh so many wonderful choices! I spun around like Julie Andrews in "The Sound of Music". Every creation I've tried was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't stop repeating to myself, "This is FROZEN YOGURT?" I recently had the dulce de leche & Georgia peach flavors. Nothing less than spectacular. And I now know how much Golden Grahams (the cereal) absolutely belong in frozen dairy treats. Yo Mama is going to get a lot of my money this summer; I can already see it.

Amazing. I dream about going to this place for fro-yo. It's that delicious that I'm going to drive the 20 min for my weekly fix tomorrow. Yum. There's a rotating list of mouth watering flavors. Along with the two flavors that are there forever. (chocolate and Original tart) It's pay by weight, and remember to leave room for toppings! Go here. You'll thank me later.

Yo Mama! is a perfect way to wrap up an evening out, or a long week at work. The constantly rotating flavors are fun and keep you coming back week after week and the buffet of toppings is the most impressive I have ever seen at any buffet-style fro-yo establishment. Yo Mama! puts a creative spin on all sorts of familiar, seasonal, and non-traditional flavors. I was amazed at how spot-on the flavor of the red-velvet cake yogurt was, and obsessed with the tart and sweet flavor of the apple pie flavor that came out at the beginning of the fall season. I usually wind up with the Alpine Vanilla, however, because I like a creamy, neutral palate to fill with toppings. I appreciate Yo Mama!'s offering of a non-tart vanilla flavor, and the Alpine Vanilla is almost creamy enough to trick you into believing you're eating ice cream instead of a healthy alternative. The only reason I removed a star was the occasional problems with the staff and the layout of the establishment. When you first walk in to the restaurant, there are sample cups right by the door, and a normally welcoming environment to sample as many flavors as you desire before making a purchase. However, what I usually notice at least once per visit is someone walking in, grabbing a sample cup or two, piling it high, and walking out without paying. As a result, the staff starts watching EVERYONE sample during rush hours, making you feel kind of uncomfortable. I mentioned this once to the store manager, who apologized, and gave us a gift certificate for our next visit. So I recommend going during the non-peak times. Also, Chris, the cashier, is AWESOME! Yay yogurt.

I have no complaints about this place...Other than the gobs of children...But, alas that cannot be avoided. The price is nice and you get to fill up your cup self serve style and load your toppings. Lots of fat free options which you can then ruin by covering with brownie chunks (I know from experience). And gluten free options as well! My eyes are always bigger than my tummy, so filling my own bowl helps me control how much I eat. Seemed fairly clean given the aforementioned gobs of children, which I appreciate, no one likes a sticky fro yo dispenser. I was also very impressed in their response on Twitter. They're engaged and I like that. Everyone seems to be talking about them lately, and with good reason.

I really like going to this place since you can vary the amount of froyo and toppings (if you're a topping heavy person, this is the place to go! Save money with less froyo and more toppings!) It's a family friendly place and a definite MUST in the summer (they had a deal if you showed your Summerfest ticket, you'd get a discount). It has a great graphic design concept to go along with the place. You definitely should try going to this place if you live in the Milwaukee area! (It's about a 15 minute drive from downtown).

Do you froyo? Then come here! They have a wide selection, and the prices are fair.

Let's see here...you get to make your own frozen yogurt sundae. There are several flavors to choose from and many toppings to add. Then you pay for the weight of your sundae and enjoy. Yup, sounds like a winner to me! Looking forward to going back.

Imagine, two people that are walking to keep the blood pumping through their veins. It's like a scene from Speed, if we stop walking our blood coagulates and we die! My wife and I happened upon this place while walking off a Big Lebowski brunch burger from Cafe Hollander (we split it and still needed a walk!) This place was worth stopping for! Lemmie break it down for you. Good - They have a nice selection of mostly low-fat frozen yogurt in a variety of flavors which they sell by the ounce. Want just a little stomach settling coolness, or a jumbo amount to freeze your innards, it's all your call. They charge by the ounce (.45 cents) for whatever you place in your cup) They have toppings upon toppings for your tabula rassa bowl of frozen canvas. Seriously, I think someone was under a severe case of the munchies when they were deciding what they would have for toppings. From Frutti Pebbles to Sixletts, to fresh fruit to crushed heath bars... it's all there. The Bad It's VERY easy for your eyes to become bigger than your stomach (or wallet!!) If your with a child, I'd recommend the smallest container and an even hand with the toppings. Left to their own devices your child could easily create an insulin bomb of the WMD magnitude. And that same advice goes for adults. Go a size smaller than you think you want and you'll avoid either forcing yourself to finish, or tossing it into the bin. The Ugly Oh MY God... there is waffles and cookies that you can buy to dip/scoop/shovel into your concoction. Seriously??? Waffle cookies with the edges dipped in lemon frosting, chocolate or peanut butter??? In conclusion, it's a good thing that there is a park nearby, low fat or not, you're gonna need to walk off your cup of happiness. Enjoy!

Great place for some great Froyo! A bit too many kids for my liking, they tend to be messy and are not very conscientious of what they are doing with the condiments. Parking at this location could be better, especially on a popular evening. That's not their fault though. Can't wait to try the new brookfield location.

This place rocks my face off. I can't believe I didn't know there was a 'Tosa location. I'm the schmuck that almost drive from Milwaukee to Brookfield on a Frozen Yogurt quest! Thanks Yelp for saving me gas and mileage!!! It's a hot day here in Milwaukee, and it was pretty busy with people inside and outside but zero line in front of me as I walked back and forth looking at all the flavors listed on the 5 machines. That's not 5 flavors, that 5 x 2 flavors! That's right indecisive people like me. That's 10 different yes or nos you have to make before you get to the toppings. You CAN swirl between the two in the same machine or choose a little bit of each of them. (You can also taste test flavors you've never had before which I appreciate!) And ready to make matters more confusing??? Flavors change weekly, so you find something you love and next week it could be different. Indecisive people of the world, it's ok! Because the three I mixed today were pretty tasty. So grab a cup, fill it, and pay for what you fill. There's 35some toppings to choose from too (I suggest cookie dough - I could go with just a cup full of it without the yogurt part - that's how highly I regard it. I'm a sugar addict. Caught me! :) For two medium size cups filled with yogurt and topping it came to about $10, but the experience was fun and it's a different flavor than ice cream. With no change in temperature in sight, we'll be back sometime soon for more and to try next week's flavors!

I feel like Ive been so lucky to be having such great experiences at places that Im able to award them good star marks! Ok the basic idea behind this is a serve yourself frozen yogurt place. This place is an indecisive person's dreammmmmmmmmm. They have excellent flavors that they run all the time, like a FF, SF chocolate, Dutch Chocolate, Cake Batter and Vanilla to name a few.. they always have tart/sorbet flavors.. Then come the seasonals... OMG.. so good! Egg Nog, Peppermind Candy Cane.. Pumpkin.. these are examples of ones I have seen in my few times going there. And look at that.. I havent even gotten started on the toppings.. whatever you like, they have it.. whatever you want, they also probably have it.. I hate to admit that I am pretty plain when it comes to what I get but I have a boyfriend who puts everything but the kitchen sink on his Yo Mama's and I can honestly say that he is like a little kid whenever we go there.. there are more healthy options and then there are things like brownie bites, or cereals... its really got something for everybody.. Parking can be annoying, but thats how parking is EVERYWHERE in DT Tosa... The staff can be a little aloof but I decided not to take any stars away because it really is a serve yourself sort of place. UM YUM!

I was wrestling with the decision of whether to give Yo Mama 4 or 5 stars just as much as I was wrestling with the decision of what toppings to put on my frozen yogurt. Yo Mama gets 4 very enthusiastic stars from me. The only thing holding it back from entering the elite 5-star club is the frozen yogurt itself. If it had been true blue ice cream, you'd get another star out of me, Mama. But then again, that probably wouldn't work very well as a self-serve option. Alas, frozen yogurt. (But as frozen yogurt goes, it was tasty!) I loved all of the choices for toppings and had a hard time narrowing it down. I ended up with Dutch Chocolate covered in brownie bites, toasted coconut, raspberries, and crushed peanuts. It was delicious. One regret- wish I would of swirled the yogurt with the New York Cheesecake. Next time. The decor was really fun and contemporary. Clearly, a lot of thought went into it. Also, we visited around 8pm on a Friday night. Probably a bad idea. Swarms of people were everywhere. I'm surprised we even got a table. But with as much buzz as Yo Mama has been getting, it's probably busy all the time. The concept alone is so neat and such a draw that I'm sure they'll be super busy and in business for a long time to come.

A Dr. Seuss inspired review: There once was a horrendous and humid heat, That made a couple look for a refrigerated refuge to retreat. No shaded space, no splashing sprinklers squirting through the air, Signs of relief were not anywhere! Looking down the scorching, sizzling, searing street, Was the shimmer of a tasty, tantalizing, temptastic treat! This child was not holding custard, ice cream, or gelato, But a different delight that also contains lactose. When the doors were opened, what did we see? A whimsical, wondiferous world of goodies! Fun, fantastic flavors of frozen yogurt covered the wall, With terrific toppings to add to cups big or small. Bite after bite of berry flavored treat, Led to a knockout of the once mighty heat. With a boiling, blazing, blistering summer around the corner, Do not worry because Yo Mama! is here!

Yo mama so ugly Bob the builder looked at her and said " we can't fix that" Yo mama so fat when her pager goes off people think she's backing up Yo mama so greasy she uses bacon as a band aid. While I especially enjoy yo mama jokes, I can't joke about how delightful Yo Mama really is. I feel like I can revisit my childhood when I go there, nothing screams being a 6 year old like cake frozen yogurt with jimmies, gummy bears, marshmallows and hell a little Captain Crunch! In fact Yo Mama is so wonderful I had a dream about it today while taking an afternoon nap. Plus you can ease drop on other people telling yo mama jokes which is incredibly entertaining. Drop everything and go there now!!!!

I will be going to Yo Mama for the fourth time today. I think that gives an accurate indication of my feelings about the place, given that it's only been open a few weeks, but just in case you need to know more ... The Yo Mama business model is pretty freaking brilliant. The whole set up is self-serve, meaning you can sample as many (or as few) yogurts and toppings as you wish in a single dish. Your dish is weighed out after you load up with your preferred combo. Flavors are fun and sometimes surprising (root beer float, red velvet cake), but the classics are always available as well. I'm usually more interested in toppings than the actual delivery mechanism (AKA Ice cream/frozen yogurt) and in this category, Mama does not disappoint. From the expected (hot fudge, cookie dough, sprinkles, nuts) to the unexpected (TONS of fresh fruit and cereals) to the WTF (boba!), you won't have a problem building the perfect frozen creation. Grab an Alterra coffee and enjoy the modern, inviting environment. Just the thing all summer (and fall, winter and spring) long.

The best Frozen Yogurt I've ever had: cake batter, hot fudge, toffee bites, cookie dough, graham crackers, and chocolate on top. Simply amazing!

Love, Love, Love!! I was completely overwhelmed with the selections when I went in. Since, I went in before dinner I grabbed the Little Mama dish. Went straight for the Cake Batter fro yo! Topped it off with chocolate chips, cookie dough pieces and hot fudge. Not the most healthy option, but who cares! It was Delicious. Better yet, I put it on the scale and it only cost a little over $2. Super Deal!! I am a Fan and will be back time and time again!

I had never heard of this place, seeing as I am very far out of touch with what's cool in my older age, until it was recommend by a friend as a place to try after dinner. At first I thought we were taking a trip back to the 90s, when "Snaps" had books written about them and "Yo Mama" jokes were as common as Friends quotes. Turns out it's a frozen yogurt place. Oh! So THAT'S what the Yo stands for! After getting over how long it took me to put the name together with what it was, we were off. The place is located in downtown Tosa and it's as hip and trendy as you'd expect. Walking in kind of felt like walking into an Ikea catalog but the crowd was diverse and the place was packed, so there was no real feel of pretense. As soon as you walk in, you read the signs and you're told what to do. Pick a cup up, look at the 10+ choices on frozen yogurt, pick one, then put a ton of stuff on top of it. I thought there was a nice variety of flavors from standard to things like pumpkin and blueberry. Each serving machine has two flavors in it with the ability to swirl two together. I went for a swirl of NY Cheesecake and Dutch Chocolate and was pretty pleased with it. It's probably not quite as awesome as standard Ice Cream or Frozen Custard, but it's not too far behind either. After that, I got to pick from what felt like 100 choices on toppings (probably closer to 35, I'm easily overwhelmed). I stayed in the chocolaty/candy area of things but there was fresh fruit, fruity candy and cereals. Really, anything you might think is good on frozen yogurt, they probably have it. I had some Oreos, Reese's peanut butter cups and chocolate chips. The ability to self-serve shines here, because you can get as crazy with your toppings as you want. After you are done, you take it to a scale and pay 45 cents an ounce, which felt to be pretty fair. For a medium cup fled to the brim I paid under $5 and it was absolutely worth that. The yogurt was good, the mixings varied and the price was nice. Pretty much so nothing to complain about here. It really only misses out on 5 stars do to my preference for (the less healthy) ice cream or custard. This is a great place to go to on a hot day or after dinner snack. I will gladly be visiting Yo Mama again. Tell her I said hi.

Though self-serve yogurt places have been popular around the country for awhile, they are still fairly new to the Milwaukee area. We were excited to see one open in the Tosa Village. Yo Mama definitely does it right. They have a great selection of flavors and toppings. We like to get the pizzelles once in awhile too. It's a very well-designed interior that makes it a lot of fun. They are doing well here, almost too well sometimes. It can get pretty loud with all of the kids in there. But it is always worth the visit.

Love. It. There were oodles of DIY fro-yo shops in San Francisco so when we moved to Milwaukee, yes, custard is plentiful, but boy have I missed my fro-yo. This place has fantastic flavors (I loved the peach, cake batter, and red velvet). The atmosphere was chic and well-branded, the staff friendly, and toppings abundant and delicious. I'm glad it is a bit out of the way from my house or this pregnant lady would be visiting a lot more often.

Yo mama is so... No, I'm not going to write down those jokes, b/c it's been done. But I've got some good ones, so next time you see me - let's battle. But this cute, new froyo joint has a lot of potential and a lot of customers. The line can be ridiculous, but it moves pretty fast. Here's the thing - if you've been spoiled by the likes of PinkBerry, Red Mango, & YogurtLand...it just won't live up to those. But since Wisconsin doesn't have any of those chains, then Yo Mama! ends up being near the top. To be honest, the froyo was just so dang icy! Not smooth as other joints and not even as flavorful. Tasted like I had a cold and was so congested that all the flavors (except dutch chocolate) were muted. Pretty disappointing. The decor is great, although the "directions" aren't as well placed. If you've never done it before, it could be confusing. But just follow the hordes of people down the line and remember to look right and left for topping options. All in all, this joint is a great addition to Tosa and I'm glad that more Wisconsinites are being exposed to this type of yumminess. I give it 3 stars mostly because the service was nice, place was clean, and it has good decor. Otherwise, the yogurt itself (although a lot of variety), was just "Meh". Just know that there's even BETTER out there and that not all froyo should be so icy and subtle in flavor. (Bella Froyo in Bayshore is a good example.)

Just visited for the fourth time last night and still in love. And guess what--when I went back the day after my first visit and the labels were up! Since they also had stickers for the cups that day, I'm assuming the order from the printer was probably late, hence the delay. Have tried a few more flavors now (and I love that they rotate flavors regularly)--Irish Mint is deliciously strong and would be perfect with chocolate, the pom raspberry is FANTASTIC swirled with the original tart, and the plain vanilla is creamy sweet. Mama has officially won my heart away from custard.

5 stars for the quality and variety of the toppings 2 stars for the frozen yogurt Strawberry mochi? YUM! I hate to give this place a not perfect rating but I have to because their frozen yogurt doesn't really taste like frozen yogurt. The consistency is MUCH grainier and doesn't have that slight tart flavor found at all of the other places such as Red Mango, Pinkberry, etc. To me it felt more like eating soft serve then frozen yogurt. But bravo for a clean and spacious independently owned fro-yo place in Wisconsin!

  • Foodie M.

I go because of the choices: dairy, non-dairy, premium, low-fat, non-fat, swirl, singles... He goes because of the toppings: Captain Crunch, brownie bits, fresh fruit, hot caramel, cheesecake bites, granola, Cinnamon Toast Crunch... I am always pleased to see two employees stationed at the toppings bar an self-serve station. They work like silent cleaning robots, sweeping up and wiping up spilled sprinkles and yogurt drips. The employees keep the self-serve bars very clean which I can't imagine is an easy task with the sometimes line-out-the-door wait of customers. At .45 an ounce who doesn't want soft-serve frozen yogurt? It isn't the best frozen yogurt but it is good. It's good enough to go a few times a week during heat waves and steamy nights. I also like that they serve Alterra Coffee and Simma's local bakery. Way to go and to support local businesses!

I didn't know what all the hype was about. I mean seriously, its frozen yogurt. The hubby and I decided to go there one night after Starbucks. We wanted to know what everyone was so excited about. We were lucky and didn't have the "line out the door" to wait through. It's self serve. The hardest part for me was deciding which frozen yogurt flavor to try as there were many. Then there are dispensers of toppings. Again, many choices so I was a little over stimulated. The cost wasn't bad, about $9 for two bowls of pure joy. Only complaint I had was that the stuff melted quickly with the hot fudge and caramel I put on top. You should try it, at least once.

I made a Super-Sundae today. It was pretty great. Went Alpine Vanilla for the base, then added some crushed oreo, brownie bits, and hot fudge. A few raspberries on top... what can I say I'm a real health nut. It's all do-it-yourself until the end when they weigh it and you pay it. I was proud mine was priced at over $5. I'm a real pig. Great place, I'll be back if I'm ever in that area again.

  • Aimee Pearl A.

If you like frozen yogurt, do-it-yourself-projects and buffets, this place is for you. Choose your frozen yogurt (there are at least 12 flavors, which change depending on the day), do some mixing and matching, sprinkle a little cereal here, pour some caramel there, top it off with chopped kiwis, miniature mochi, maybe some jimmies. They have quite a selection of toppings...be careful. You pay the nice cashier based on the weight of your crazy creation. So, if your kid walks out of there with 10 bucks worth of fro yo, it's your fault. You weren't paying attention. Yo Mama: You've made a meal out of frozen yogurt.

The wife and I were very happy to have this Yogurt Shoppe open up this last year. It's a great spot for the summer, and any other time frozen yogurt tastes great....always. There's a big selection, and an even bigger selection of toppings. Being able to sample the flavors without prejudice is the added bonus. Although I think it's a smidge on the pricey side, not only is it worth it, but I also seem to be getting cheaper in my old age. Either way, it's a must have if you haven't.

What's not to love about fat free frozen yogurt with everything from fresh fruit to Captain Crunch to sour berries for toppings? I am borderline obsessed with the cake batter flavored yogurt- we're talking waking up in a cold sweat thinking about it kind of obsessed. And my little one loves all the crazy sugary toppings- it literally has something for everyone.

It's fun for the kids - but let's not pretend it holds a candle to the many delicious custard shops in the Milwaukee area. Sure, the many yogurt flavors and the numerous toppings was amusing, but overall it was mediocre at best. I won't be back.

  • Chuck M.

Our second visit. Still seems a good value as you can choose what your up for. I doubt anything really counts as low-carb but you only pay for what you take.....so you can't argue about value or portion size. I noticed sample cups this time and watched a group of teens just sample and leave.......but most stay and pay like good citizens should. There is little point in running anybody out of business if you like the product. The service dropped one notch from last time. I hope owners don't get too complacent and just think of business as a cash flow. If you just pay your employees min wage and sit at home, the customer will notice the lack of "spirit" in the staff. Business is not just about moving frozen yogurt out the door.

Decided to go here instead of other frozen yogurt places in the area because of Yelp. It did not disappoint. Super friendly & helpful staff,. Very clean sitting, ordering and self-serve areas. The pricing was per ounce so you have to be careful on how full your bowl is. Honestly didn't need any toppings on my yogurt, it was delicious "naked". I had cake batter and it was spot on for flavor! We tried almost all of the flavors before deciding (even root beer) which was nice cause I really didn't like a few I thought I would want. Will definitely be going back!

Finally checked this place out this weekend with my husband and in-laws and everyone loved it. I love the concept of self serve with such a variety of yogurt and topping flavors. There was truly something for everyone and healthy options. The price was also extremely reasonable. The decor is contemporary, fresh and comfortable and the face lift they gave to the outside of the building is a great addition to the Tosa Village. We will definitely make this a frequent stop all year round.

As good as it gets. Quite a high school hangout on a Saturday night. Loved the yogurt, and the selection of toppings as well as the ease of going through the place. We also had no line so that did ease our experience. I wish I would've known that they served cups of water as my boyfriend and I took bottles of water before the check out line. I do hope they continue to keep it clean but if I'm in the area, I'm definitely going again.

I think I've been to Yo Mama at least four times so far. In fact, I told my husband we may need to take a break, as I don't want to ruin it for myself and get sick of it. When we went to San Diego about 3 years ago, we went to a Yo Mama type place. It was at that time that I told my husband we should totally open a place like this up in Tosa. Well, we didn't. But clearly we should have. The place has a constant stream of customers and obviously is filling a void for those who don't want custard all the time (and in our house, we have two egg allergies.... so custard is out of the question). LOVE it! The toppings are great. And yes, there are mobs of kids there..... including me with mine. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy your dessert, stick with Le Reve!

This place, is amazing. Heard great things about it from friends & yelp so decided to try it out yesterday...and already know Im going back there tonight for dessert. Many different varieties of the frozen yogurt and a HUGE selection of toppings to choose from. Like I said, amazing!

Just went there for the first time and it was great! In the middle of the day, so not busy at all. The froyo was delicious and I liked the selection of toppings. No complaints!
