Amazing coffee!! Have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered there, coffee or otherwise. Also, they have free wifi. As a teacher, it's a great place to go do some grading. Clean. Order the Carmeliscious! Only thing I'd change is that I wish the kitchen was open Sundays!

So, 4 stars from someone who doesn't even drink coffee? Yep, and that is the only reason I didn't give 5! Personally, I love Highlander Grogg, or rather, the SMELL of Highlander Grogg. Whenever my husband brews a pot, I linger in the kitchen just a little bit longer. This place is like that. I'm sure the aroma inside is a mixture of all their coffees and, damn, does it smell good! You can and will find flavors here that you didn't know existed: chocolate chip cookie and turtle sundae are just two. Oh, they sell packets of hot chocolate here also, and there is a cafe that sells decent sandwiches, but you come here for the coffee. They offer a free coffee "class" every month that requires reservations, and the gift shop sells sample sized packets of coffee as well as full sized bags. It also offers coffee makers, french presses, mugs and coffee scented candles. The newest offering was Highlander Grogg flavored fudge made by a local candy shoppe. If you love coffee and like to try new flavors, Berres Brothers makes for an interesting stop. If you find that you don't care for it, then hit up Johnson Creek outlet mall, just down the road! 13/2014/16

Good coffee, OK food My daughter and I dropped by for a quick lunch during a recent soccer tourney in Watertown. While a step up from fast food fare, I was a little disappointed in the quality of the food. We started things off with a cinnamon roll. The rich cream cheese frosting had a hint of cinnamon and was a hit with my daughter. But the roll was dry and lacked the buttery richness of a great cinnamon roll. The most telling sign about the quality of the roll was after we finished eating the frosting, neither of us finiushed the roll. The Reubenesque sandwich I ordered suffered from from a number of flaws. * The proportion of ingredients was off. There was far too much slaw and too little meat. The taste of the slaw dominated the sandwich instead of the pastrami which was disappointing. * The other flavor that dominated the sandwich was mustard, which seemed out of place in a Reuben sandwich. * Due to the thick layer of slaw, the interior of the sandwich was only slightly warm and the Swiss cheese did not melt, so the texture of the sandwich was off. * The substitution of the under-seasoned slaw for the sauerkraut did not improve the sandwich. Probably best to stick to the classic preparation. The sandwich came with a choice of side and I selected the sweet potato fires which were crisp, hot and delicious. They deserved a better dipping sauce than the Sysco ketchup packets in the condiment area. Both my daughter and I were impressed with the quality of the grilled cheese sandwich. The crunchy exterior of the sandwich provided a nice textural contrast to the melted cheese interior. I appreciated that sliced apples were offered as one of the options as a side. And the sandwich was a good value at $3.95. The other thing I appreciated was the great selection of coffee. There were numerous carafes of coffee to chose from in the cafe area, allowing me to sample some new flavors. The salted caramel coffee was the hands down winner for me on this visit. While I was glad to have the cafe was an alternative to the local fast food options, I'm probably not going out of my way from a return visit.

I love both the coffee and the menu. Great selection of flavors ready to serve and hot and cold specialty coffee to order. Nice light menu of delicious sandwiches wraps and panini. Casual and friendly. Just need to add a drive through when there's no time to stop. Do that for 5 stars!

The reason to go to Berres Brothers is to stock up on good coffee for home. Unlike that rather more famous chain named for a character in Moby Dick, Berres Brothers does not burn their beans and call it a "special roast" and then "educate" you into saying that it's good when it's really just bitter. They actually roast their beans to bring out the flavor of coffee. Their coffee house, which is the front end of their shop, is similar to that offered by other coffee houses like Seattle's Best or that rather more famous chain named for a character in Moby Dick. You get a selection of their coffees, pastries, sandwiches, and some breakfast/dessert things like yogurt-granola parfaits. This, you can get elsewhere, although I'm willing to bet that this is the best example of that you can get between Milwaukee and Madison. The back of the house is where the roasting equipment is, it's cool to look at through the glass. But the feature is in the center of the house. There are dozens of rows of coffee dispensers with every variety of coffee Berres Brothers roasts. Go nuts. Stock up, especially if you're from out of town. They do the best flavored and unflavored roastings I've tasted anywhere. They also find creative flavors to put in to the roasting, things that you simply won't find easily elsewhere -- the cranberry cream captures the essence of cranberry flavor without being overly sweet; the nut flavors have a strong aroma; the chocolate flavors blend the richness of coffee and chocolate just right; and if you can find it in season, the state fair creampuff flavor is subtle and delicious. Their top seller is the Highlander Grogg, and after one taste of it, you'll understand why.

Stopped by yesterday to pick up Berres Brothers new K-cups. They had plenty in stock and the gentleman in the store was helpful and friendly. I didn't pick up any food or hot beverages when I dropped in but I saw what was being served and it looked amazing. I will certainly be back to have lunch!

Love their coffee so much my husband and I have taken a short vacation to visit, take the "tour" and stock up. Enjoyed our lunch in the cafe as well. We learned so much about brewing and coffee types - the tour was worth the trip alone.

Berres Brothers Coffee is, by far, our favorite coffee. I look forward to my first cup of coffee every morning! We have family in Watertown so we stop in every trip to pick up a few pounds. They have many different flavors, regular and decaf, for all coffee lovers. I personally recommend the Highlander Grogg, Streusel Cake, Turtle Sundae and Chocolate Macadamia Nut. The Watertown store has everything from single-pot flavors to gifts to a cafe to factory tours. The cafe's menu is delicious. I've never been disappointed. They serve specialty coffee drinks, breakfast, sandwiches and wraps. They also brew a few pots of their own coffee for you to enjoy right away. If your in the Minneapolis area, Rainbow in The Quarry also sells Berres Brothers. So stop in and buy a pound, or two. You will not be disappointed!

The coffee is great and the place smells amazing. It is nice and quiet and relaxing to just sit and enjoy. The pastries look delicious and the coffee you can buy by the bag...wow! (atmosphere is a bit off - but the smell and taste more than make up for it.)

This is the place that made me start drinking coffee again. It's fun to visit here just to browse the gift shop. Oh, the selection! There are all kinds of flavored coffees -- everything from the standard vanilla and hazelnut to wilder flavors like butter rum, angelfood cake, blueberry muffin, creme brulee, white chocolate mousse, eggnog -- things I can't imagine myself liking, but which I'm still tempted to try just for the novelty. The next one on my list might be the chocolate peanut butter. They also have a really cool selection of non-flavored coffees from all over the world: Jamaica, Indonesia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil. My favorite was the Ethiopian -- a yummy, spicy, chocolatey, smooth roast. I also got the Norske Blend, which I was very excited about because when I buy European things it makes me feel cool. However, I wasn't a fan -- to me this tasted like licking an ashtray. Maybe some people would like it. The Berres Blast was a cool novelty -- it is processed to have extra caffeine, and oh boy did it make me jittery. They also have a selection of fair-trade and organic coffees. You can buy whole beans, or if you don't own a grinder, they will grind it for you on site. Everything is available in bulk, so you can decide exactly how much you want. Great for that cherry cheesecake-flavored coffee if you think you might only want to make one pot, ever. Make time to stop in the cafe for lunch. The soups, salads, and panini-style sandwiches are excellent (as, of course, are the coffee drinks!). Not cheap but hey, I am used to it -- I live in Boston. They also offer tours of the roasting facility. Haven't been on one yet, will update if I do -- and I'm sure I will, since my fiance's parents live 10min away.

This is a review of the coffee I ordered from their website not from visiting their store. I saw them on the food network the other night and have been looking for a new brand of coffee, so I decided I would give it a whirl. I bought the chocolate macadamia nut and tried it for the first time this morning and it was really good. It's a bit pricey b/c I have to pay for shipping too, but it's very good coffee and I would definitely buy from them again.

The coffee is good if you're a fan of flavored coffee (many of the varieties are a bit chemically for my taste). The baked goods are reasonably priced and indulgently large. The soup/sandwich/etc. affair is way overpriced for what is essentially cafeteria food. Stick with coffee and a scone and you'll be happy.

The food is great and the prices are more then fair. Good service, they bring the food to the table. Wi-fi and great coffee and the place is spotless. Great place to meet friends for lunch.

I visited Berres Brothers in 2009 and sampled their coffee, but did not eat there. I live in San Jose, CA and was visiting relatives who took us there after finding out how much my family likes coffee. I was very impressed with all the varieties of flavored coffee. I really like flavored coffee, in fact, that is what I drink the most. We bought a bag of the one pot samples and took them home. My favorite flavored coffee is English toffee and for years I have been buying it at Safeway, So after we used up our one pot sample bag, I went back to buying my coffee at Safeway. Last year, Safeway stopped selling English Toffee as a bulk item. So I started ordering my coffee from Berres Brothers. My family asked me to buy some of the other flavors just for fun. Well I now have other favorites. Bannana Nut is wonderful, so is the Spiced Egg Nog. I like strong flavors but all of the ones I have tried have been good coffee, some of them not as strong on the flavors as I would like. They have the small one pot samples and that is the best way to buy at first, until you know what flavor you really like. I consider myself a regular customer of Berres Brothers, and will continue to order online.

I am hooked on love! Love for Berres Brothers coffee that is. Currently living in Minneapolis, I make this a stop EVERY time I visit my parents! I grew up on this stuff. There is something to say about your first love. There are not many flavors I dislike, but favorites include: Tirmasu, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Packer Perk, Highlander Grogg, Coffee Cake, German Chocolate Cake, the list goes on. They have a frequent buyers program that will save you some dinero if you stop often. They have a great selection of coffee accessories and gifts. The menu looks good, but I have a one track mind when I go here, so let me know how the food is. Please stop here and take plenty to go if you are not from the area. If you are, go out of your way to get some coffee here! There is no reason you should not be a regular here. It is a gem hidden in the corn fields!
