I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday via the website and received confirmation a few hours later via email. When I went to pick it up, the cake had been made perfectly. Since I picked it up a couple of days before the event, I was concerned about it getting soggy, or picking up food odor from the fridge. She recommended using a plastic bag to keep the odor out, which worked very well. The cake itself was delicious! nothing too fancy, but it was a big hit at the party. I would definitely buy here again.
Craig is awesome and I'm surprised to see some lower ratings. He did our wedding cake, which consisted of three separate layers and two extra sheet cakes. Everything was amazing, and we got a free anniversary cake a year later, which was a nice touch and something few vendors would consider offering these days. Craig offers a free cake tasting during which he walks through all available options from cake to frosting to mousse. He is very detailed and did not rush the process. Our cake arrived as ordered and on time, and guests all seemed to like our choices. Definitely recommended for wedding cake or any occasion.
Last week, I picked up my fiance's birthday cake: 6 inch chocolate and vanilla cake peanut butter mousse and fudge filling with their signature frosting. So delicious! As expected, the cake layers were moist and not too dense; the peanut butter mousse was so light and had just enough of a kick to give the cake the flavor we wanted, and the fudge was not overpowering. The best part is making sure every bite had the signature frosting (whipped cream and white chocolate shavings)--each bite was so good. The ordering process online is a piece of cake (ha!). I requested the pick-up time for 5pm but was able to pick it up 2 hours earlier due to a change of plans. Great customer service!

Just your dive bar where the locals gather. The bar is tiny so in winter with no out door seating it must be packed. It has out door seating so you can enjoy your beverages on nice days.

Stopped in on a Sunday night and the place was pretty dead. Great selection of brews to pick from but a very limited menu. Wife got the chicken sandwich which was pretty pedestrian. Good but nothing special. I got the Ragin' Cajun burger which was good but not the spice level I associate with great Cajun food. All in all OK, but the area has better burger places.
Horrible burgers! Dry and flavorless. Not bad enough to send back because I doubt they could improve upon it. No place that cooks meat only to medium well should be allowed to call itself a burger joint.
Went to Brews Brothers for a birthday lunch with my wife and 3yr old son. First impressions were "wow, what a beer list!" and "wow, not much to choose from on the menu, good thing I'm in the mood for a burger!". I'd find out the second impression works to their advantage. We started with the Pub Grub, which was homemade chips (warm) with a beer cheese sauce and bacon on them. They didn't look like much but they were very good. I typically order medium-rare meat, but they only do medium-well burgers. To me medium-well is almost a guarantee of a dry burger, but not in this case. I'd say they were done perfectly. I had the Bacon Mac n Cheese burger and my wife had the slaw burger. The mac n cheese on mine would have been delicious on its own, but it was the burger that stole the show. Very tasty, with the right amount of seasoning combined with great beef from Knoche's (same used by another establishment known for its burgers). The pricing was reasonable on the food but be careful on the beer, my limited run Avery Pump[KY]n Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Pumpkin Porter was $10 for a small snifter (and worth it). A few kinks to work out yet as the Pub Grub didn't ring up at the sale price and wasn't caught by the staff. Brews Bros keep it simple but execute what they offer well. Overall it was a pleasant lunch experience; family friendly and tasty so we'll definitely be back!

Riley Tavern

A gem located in the middle of no where. The Riley Tavern is a classic Wisconsin tavern. They don't try to be anything besides that. A simple tavern selection of 4 local beers on tap, a modest bar food menu, a decent porch and STIFF drinks. The place is perfect for an afternoon of day drinking. I have heard that they breakfast is awesome but i have yet to experience it for myself. This is the type of place that would be awesome for a Packer game. Maybe next Sunday...
Don't come here for fine dining and fancy cocktails. Do come here to have a good time. Love to run or bike here on the trail on Sunday mornings and enjoy brunch or come later for a drink. Here's the deal with brunch on Sunday. Pro's: There are pancakes. And the most delicious, amazing, drooling, sausage in the world. That's what you can have. Don't ask for anything else or the sassy waitresses get crabby. They have coffee, tea, orange juice or alcohol. Drop a pancake on the floor? There's a dog roaming around, so don't worry. Line up at the door, ten minutes later the place is packed and the bar seats are full of old men, bikers, cyclists and neighbors. It's got great atmosphere with a covered deck looking out over the trail. PS They will not serve you breakfast outside. Added bonuses, they claim its ten minutes from anywhere, Riley Fest, alcoholic drinks in glass jars, snowmobile trail, bike trail, nature, and I always love seeing bikers and cyclists together in spandex and leather.
We went for the pancake breakfast on Sunday and the place was packed. The place is very minimal, we had 3 menu options, Blueeberry Cranberry Chocochip + self-service coffee and tea + OJ. $6 per person and basically you get what you pay for. But somethign about the secretive location made me give an extra star.

Went to The Klassik to watch a packers playoff game... that they ended up losing... and met up with some friends here who lived out in Verona. The outside doesn't look like anything special, but when you walk in, it's actually quite big. To the right is a banquette room, as well as if you go straight downstairs. To the Left was the bar. Filled with TVs, love the almost horseshoe bar, and not positive if they sell food or not cause when we were there they were doing a potluck. But the drinks there were fantastic, I ended up getting two Mimosas that were so good, and huge for $4 which I thought was at a pretty awesome price. Our bartender was the sweetest, super attentive to everyone in the bar, and was just awesome. I'd definitely give Klassik another go on another game day :)
Staff was extremely friendly. Definitely made us feel like home even though it was our first time there. The bartender made it a point to call me by my first name through our conversations which I've never experienced before. Would have probably stayed longer but I think I'm use to Columbia county prices because they seemed a little high here.
Wow, if this is the best Verona has to offer, I feel for the people who live there. I could have had a better meal at one of the coffee shops nearby. We sat outside for the music which was as sad as the meal. Service was super slow with only 3 occupied tables on the patio. It's hard to actually describe how mediocre the food was, like rancid butter, stale buns, limp cold vegetables, etc.

Culver’s

Drive through moves at a slow pace, but that's to be expected since none of their food is frozen (except the custard!) inside is kept up nicely, bathrooms are clean. Staff is very friendly, and sometimes gives four-legged friends a milk-bone if they are in the backseat during the drive through!
update: Culver's has improved in quality and also in service. This has brought me back. The fish and shrimp meals are pretty good now. but the shrimp dip and the tartar sauce is sub-par. They really need to change these sauces and they need more shrimp sauce for the 10 pc. One doesn't cut it. I tried the roast beef dinner the other day. The beef was good but the bread it was placed on was very tough and pretty basic. They need to improve the bread or add some carrots to it or something. I would suggest opting away from the beef roast. In Verona there is no dinner selection on the drive through board. I checked twice and could not find it. They had one dinner item listed in the picture board section. I find their boards somewhat difficult to navigate as opposed to other drive through restaurants.
Super yummy cheese butter burgers! I love all the staff, they are always cheerful and some know you by name. It's a nice place for lunch and the ice cream.... SWEET BABY JESUS it is great! I love Culvers and constantly crave their yummy food.

Always clean and the staff are very pleasant. The playplace is a good way for kids to get excersize on cold winter days. Brought my kids here one day to give my pregnant wife a break and bought them a hamburger and nuggets. One of the managers (I think his name was George) threw in two Happy Meal toys just to be nice. He probably thought it was no big deal, but I was touched by the gesture.
Miss Amanda that works here completely makes my day:) she is always so nice...remembers my name and finishes my order for me, right down to how i like my coffee All the other employees are great too...she just sticks out, above and beyond!! Thank you Amanda for completely making my day...every day:)
I cannot believe I'm reviewing a McDonald's, but I've been to this location three times, and all three visits have been less than stellar. For starters, the "drive thru" system is anything but convenient. Getting in-and-out via the drive-thru requires you to take 2 full laps around the building - the way the entrance is configured, you must enter their parking lot via the side of the property. You then drive counter-clockwise around the building to the spot where you order. Then you drive to get your "food," at which point you're beyond the entrance/exit spot. So, you have to take another counter-clockwise spin around the parking lot before you can exit. It's a terribly inefficient system, and it's somewhat dangerous, as drivers leaving the primary drive-thru lane with their food rarely look for cars circling the building trying to get to the drive-thru. It's difficult to explain... but go there once, and you'll understand what I'm trying to describe. Ok... entrance/egress aside, let's talk about this location. It's a McDonald's, so the food is going to be exactly the same as you'd find from any other McDonald's in the world (thanks corporate farming/food prep/chemistry!), which means the service makes or breaks the experience. Today's experience was especially interesting/frustrating. I was in Verona, helping a coworker with some home improvement work. It was around midmorning, and his kids were in the mood for McD's. Since I was the cleanest of the group, I volunteered to drive and pick-up the grub. I hopped into the car and made my way over to Mickey Ds, where the drive thru was backed-up (thanks to lack of dual ordering points). When I reached the spot to order, I started placing the order. I don't often go to McDonald's, so I'm not terribly familiar with the protocol... the first item on my list was identified as a "large #3 with Coke." McD's Microphone Dude: "Sir, Sir, Sir - I'm sorry, sir - we don't have a large size breakfast item, we only do that at lunch and dinner, sir." Me: "Oh? So they can't get a large Coke?" MDMD: "Sir, I'm sorry, we only have one size for breakfast - we don't have large size breakfasts." Me: "Ok? I only need a large Coke with that #3. Not trying to Supersize or anything, just adding a large Coke." MDMD: "Sir, no - sir, we don't Supersize any longer. We have large drinks, but we don't Supersize, and we only have one size for breakfast." Me: "Let's start over. Could I have a #3 - the biscuit thing, with a Large Coke?" MDMD: (long pause) "Do you want a large Coke?" Me: "Yes, and the #3." MDMD: (long pause) "So, that's a #3 with large Coke?" Me: "Yes." MDMD: "Ok." Me: (long pause) "Can I continue with the order?" (looked at screen thing and saw that he got the #3 with large Coke correct) MDMD: (long pause) "Yes." Me: ...ordered rest of meals for friend and his kids... MDMD: Ok, if everything looks correct, proceed to the first window, where we'll have your total ready. Me: ...drives around... Kid at window: "That'll be $18.14." Me: "Sorry for the confusion - I thought you could order a large beverage with your breakfast meal." Kid at window: "You can." Me: "So, why all of the confusion?" Kid: "I don't take the orders here, I just take the money. They take the order at the next window." Me: "Oh, ok." So, I go to the next window and the kid explains that he thought I wanted a large sized hash browns, and went to great length to explain that they don't have large hash browns, only regular size. Ok, whatever... I returned to my friend's house only to discover they forgot to include the #3 part of the food order... so, we got the large Coke, but no biscuit or hash brown. UGH! I gave away my breakfast in the interest of not having to return. Previous visits included a bout with cold/hard fries and a botched burger order (asked for onions only; got everything but onions), and a less than enthusiastic balding manager dude who seemed to act as if someone had just stomped on his toes a few seconds before I arrived to his window. Thanks to this McDonald's, I'm convinced that I won't need to visit another McDonald's ever again. I think I'll go watch Supersize Me again, just for good measure.

Warm and friendly bar and grill walking distance from the Holliday In Express in Verona. I went there 3 times recently and really enjoyed this place. I agree with Hien D's review about beer selection and chill factor. I had their Onion Rings, Sliders, Waffle Fries, Bully Boy Wrap and one night Emily suggested the Ruben - which was amazing! A friend ordered the cheese curds which were really great. On all 3 visits we were served fast and friendly! So if you want to escape the hotel (or are in the neighborhood) I recommend this place to chill out, have a few beers and a Ruben and enjoy life away from the snow.
Great place. The prices are very reasonable, the T-Bone steak special was awesome, the fries were fresh and very good. The beer was good and the salad was pretty fresh. I'd definitely come back again.
Good beer, mellow bar, and across the street from the Holiday Inn. Kim was my waitress and she was super cool! I didn't try the food, but it's definitely a chill place to throw back a few drinks, watch sports, and hangout with your buddies. A must visit if you're staying at the Holiday Inn! Ask for Kim if you go!

Come for the cheese curds (best around), and find that they surprisingly have a great menu with creative bar/diner foods! They make their food with love and understand that the appearance matters just as much as the flavor. I would've given 5 stars but the ranch is too dilly and they slather almost all of their sandwiches in griddle grease (bar butter) and grill the bread of otherwise perfectly soft or lightly toasted classics. Great, awesome service, btw. Becky was fantastic!
The Friday night fish fry was not very flavorful. The food lacked seasoning. I would not recommend this place for the fish or beer selection
I love coming here! Always a friendly place to go, most of the staff recognizes us when we return -- by what my boyfriend orders every time (Cajun chicken, extra spice) if not by name! (Who does that!?) Any time we have friends or family in the area, we come here because they are so wonderful (and our apartment is so tiny). Everyone's had a wonderful time and look forward to returning again.
