We had a mediocre dinner there. They are not making great things to eat from fresh ingredients. More of the type of place that gets a lot of frozen food from the Sysco truck and heats it up.

If you're in the Lake Nokomis area you should check Bootleggers out. It's a traditional Northwoods supper club experience - huge bar where you'll most likely wait for a bit but once you get in the dining room everything on the menu is well executed every time which is a rarity anywhere much less the Northwoods. As with most local restaurants/supper clubs Bootlegger's is not cutting edge and never seasonal but it's mostly traditional fare made well which comes with a small salad and homemade soup for one price. If you're looking for more unique ingredients or flavor combinations Jacobi's and possibly Silver Birch may be other options but Bootlegger's unequivocally has the best fried cheese curds in the state, is the one of the best values in the area, and is some of the best cooking you're likely to find in the Northwoods. We love good food and make it up to the Northwoods a few time each year - virtually every trip to starts with dinner at Bootlegger's, it's that good. Just watch out for the new bartender - the drinks at Bootleggers are normally fine (nothing to write home about, but well enough made) however on a recent visit I was served a really bad Old Fashioned and had to tell the waitress exactly what to add in order to make it taste okay. On my last visit, I didn't trust the bar to make anything more than a gin & tonic so we opted for that and wine instead of an Old Fashioned - I'm hoping that maybe things have been fixed and the new guy has earned his stripes behind the bar but only time will tell...

Went with my boyfriend just to try a new place. Was hoping for something amazing but it fell short of okay. For there only being a couple items under $15 a plate we were expecting something nice. We both had the seafood cream soup and it was way over seasoned with rosemary. So much so it was almost impossible to finish. He had fish fillets that were perfectly cooked but way under seasoned. I had a breaded chicken breast in red sauce which was okay, but nothing I couldn't just make at home for way cheaper. The staff only checked on us twice and never brought water when we were out. We will keep looking for that "knock your socks off" place!

I can't write a review about this place as I am very bias! You see, my grandfather built this place and, back in the day, it was called "Phil's Lake Nokomis Resort" and the n"Phil's Supper Club" when my Aunt & Uncle owned it. It's been "Bootleggers" for more than a dozen years and the food is great.
