High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Been here twice since being here at Ft McCoy. This has to be the best restaurant in this town. The next best is KFC. Yes the restaurants are that bad. You get the amount of food you pay for. The desserts are soooo good and the people are extremely friendly. Haven't had the best of luck with some of these areas but this place, and most of the businesses in this town are, make up for the ones that aren't. Haven't seen it crowded which isn't bad and doesn't speak for the food.

This was a nice little visit. I got the trio of soups which typically comes with wild rice (a creamy blend), chicken spaezel and the soup of the day (it happened to be tomato basil bisque). All of the soups were good and enjoyable. The dish came with crackers covered in a variety of seeds and spices which were lovely, Zesta saltines and an herby bread with butter. The bread didn't have as much flavor as it could have- perhaps the spices used could be fresher as they appeared to be dried spices that were not as flavorful. For dessert we split the triple berry crisp and the Dutch Apple pie- both were terrific and would be worth ordering again. The pies were the highlight in a solid choice.

Great stop on our way from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. A little off the beaten path, but the quick, friendly service and the delicious food made it well worth it! We were initially a little put off by the exterior--looked like a mall--but the inside is homey and my bacon-wrapped pork chop was very good. Also sampled some of the Jäger Schnitzel, which was perhaps a bit pricey but tasty and filling. The attached market was a fun stop, too.

I am always grateful for a place to get a healthy meal traveling along 94 on my way through Wisconsin and I am very happy to have found this place. You can just stop by next door and get some prepared food at their grocery. They have a salad bar, soups, sandwiches, hot chicken etc. We didn't really realize it until after we had finished our lunch at the restaurant. I had wild rice soup and chicken salad on a croissant. I thought they were both pretty good. I ordered it with sweet potato fries that were pretty perfect and served with a delicious chipotle mayo? sauce on the side. The croissant wasn't really great but the chicken salad was very good. The soup was a little heavy for Summer and my taste in general but again was good. The service and prices were fair and am not sure what there is for folks to complain about. Just pause and be grateful for anything besides fast food out here in the middle of nowhere. Have a salad!

Visiting some SF, I didn't really have that many choices. I came across Burnstad's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Some locals recommended the local white wine (sorry, forgot the name) which was really good. I ordered the Chicken Breast Normandy and Four Cheese and Artichoke Dip. The dip was sooo good. The chicken dish was ok - could use a little bit more seasoning. Overall, not a bad place to stop by.

Travelers can't beat this spot near the confluence of I-90/I-94 to stretch their legs and get a bite to eat. It's like an upscale grocery store sprouted a gift shop, a clothing store, and a kitchen for a restaurant and an adjoining pub. You can enter at one of the main entrances on the North side (facing Hwy 12) or drive around to the West entrance to access the full-service meal options. If you want self-service and total control of portion sizes/diet choices, you can eat on the cheap at the clean and inviting tables located at the rear of the deli section. The deli is huge, with a salad bar and a hot bar, as well a thousand tempting foodstuffs including a gluten-free aisle. Then you have two other choices for meals served by waitstaff. If you want a booth, choose the restaurant (northwest corner of building, turn left after entering west entrance). The pub has the same menu but has an enormous bar as its salient decoration. I found both locations attractive and clean. My husband enjoyed the Greek Chicken salad because it featured spinach and very moist grilled chicken. In fact it was so moist we suspected it was "formed", but our waitress told us it was actually tenderized by a spiked mallet before grilling. He liked the dressing, but thought the amount of additional veges (cucumber, onions, olives, bell pepper, pepperoncini) was too meager for it to be "great". My salad sampler was surprisingly low in mayonnaise , so I liked it a lot. The Chicken Spaetzel soup was a little too salty to be perfect. Our waitress (Emily) was friendly, perky, and faultless.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised to find this gem while visiting Wisconsin on business. In fact, it was so good, we ate there twice. My husband tried the rice soup and we shared the pretzel appetizer. Delicious. He also had the schnitzel while I had the special, which was 3 types of fish prepared differently. The herb crusted was especially good! This is an easy restaurant to recommend to anyone in the Tomah area.

This is a review of the restaurant only which has been recently renovated in the past two months. After losing our way and driving nearly an hour and a half, the European Cafe was a welcome sight. Service was a little slow, but my steak was worth the wait. It came our flavorful and a perfect medium-rare. They even had potatoes shaped like mushrooms! The pre-meal bread and butter was also excellent.

This is really a good place to hang out. I came here with some friends for drinks and ended up having dinner here. The ribeye was cooked exact to order. I heard the German dishes are good too. I'll have to come back for it some other times. Not sure how much the drinks were, but the bill for five drinks was $31. The staff was very friendly. The owner even sat down and had a drink with us. I'll definitely come back here next time I'm in town.

The food is surprisingly presented well and tastes delicious; however, the menu lacks European variety - something I had looked forward to. Overall good experience though.

Very good! Pleasant atmosphere and it has an attached gift shop. I went here alone on a Sunday evening; the service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Very fairly priced too. I ordered the chicken brouchee and a glass of wine. It was fabulous! Although I didn't order any, the dessert menu was quite extensive and it was hard to resist. I highly recommend this place.

I cannot understand all the good reviews. I went for lunch while traveling from LAX t o MKE on a Sunday. This was an Omega in Euro clothing. The food was straight from the freezer - nothing was fresh. Very uninspired Reuben with sweet potato fries for me. The hubby ordered a pork schnitzel sandwich with kettle chips. The sweet potato fries were cooked well, but not fresh. The rye bread was toasted separately then the whole sandwich was 'waved to warm it up. My sandwich came to $9.75 and I would have been much happier with the same meal for a few bucks less at Culvers. The pork schnitzel was a processed pork patty resembling a mcchicken, but without the taste. The kettle chips were Krunchers, nothing made in the kitchen. Again for $9.50 we expected so much more. Service was fine. Maybe dinner is better but to me, this is a tourist trap with bland food which was waaay overpriced.

My family has traveled extensively throughout Europe and this was in no way European food. It was expensive and the service was awful. We waited over 15 minutes for our server to come and take our drink order. That should have been our cue to find somewhere else to eat. However, we foolishly trekked on. We ordered the Hungarian chicken paprikash, the jaeger snitzel, fried fish and the children's hamburger. We also tried to order the pretzels as an appetizer, but that never came. The server brought 2 slices of bread (like really 2 slices commercial wheat bread) out for 4 people. Strike one. I'm not even going to go into my pet peeve of restaurants trying to pass garden weeds off as a salad, some people like that but I do not. Our glasses were empty most of the dinner, strike two. Our app never came, strike three. The biggest disappointment was the paprikash. What came out was nothing like any paprikash I have ever had. It was almost inedible. The sauce looked like watered down sour cream tinged slightly with paprika. I have never has spaetzel like that either. It tasted like a cheese based abomination instead of the delicious dumplings they should be. Chicken paprikash should be cooked in white wine and chicken broth and seasoned with Hungarian paprika and sour cream. This was not. The jaeger snitzel was a very nice deep fried pork chop. But it wasn't jaeger snitzel. My son's cod was about the best dish on our table and it was very good. That is the nicest thing I can say about our entire meal. The 5 star ratings posted for this place have to be employees, friends or relatives. Give this place a pass.

Not a bad lunch. The pork Schnitzel sandwich was very good. The potato salad had a lot of dressing and was oddly sweet. Good service.

Nice place, probably one of the best in Tomah. I got the tip to go here from the desk at my hotel. The atmosphere was surprisingly pleasant. My dinner was good, had the salmon with a dinner salad. The presentation was nice and prices were good. The service could have been a little faster, but there was only one waitress in the pub section I was sitting in and it got pretty busy. I would definitely recommend.

Wonderful place... We went there on a Saturday evening and were very happy with our meals. The ambiance is a little lacking but for a small town this place rocks. We'll be back.

Went there for mothers day. First of all when I made the reservation, they messed it all up and made it for the wrong day and wrong time, that should have been my first clue. Service was slow, and the waitress didn't seem to want to accommodate what we wanted as far as any sort of substitute for anything, had to eat everything exactly the way the menu stated. The beef tips were all pre made, so had to have mushrooms and everything right in them. The beef tips were mostly mushrooms and gravy, only 6 small pieces of meat in all of the mush, with a tiny bit of mashed potatoes in the middle. Went with a party of 9 and we all went home hungry, we are not large people, and don't eat a lot. The meals did not even put a dent in my 15 and 16 year olds belly, had to make them lunch when we got home. With the lack of waitresses, ours hardly ever got back to us to refill waters or ask if we needed anything. Very understaffed for mothers day. When we were all finished, just before our waitress asked us if we wanted desert, she brought out some bread for the first time and said, here is some bread you get with your meal! Just before she brought our checks out. The rest of the food was ok. Since they were under staffed the waitress brought out only a few meals at a time, my 9 and 11 year old watched the first 3 adults eat and finish before anyone else got their food. That is just unacceptable, huge no no in the restaurant world. You NEVER bring out meals at different times, you bring as many waitresses as you need to bring out to make sure all food is brought out at the same time. Some were finished before others started. I would never go back, but I am from Onalaska where we have a lot more choices than in Tomah. If I lived in Tomah it would be worth the drive to find somewhere else to eat. Not very impressed at all.

Good atmosphere, good food, bad service. Waitress was rude when taking our order and only returned to serve our food and bring our check. No water refills were even offered. With better service this would be 5 stars, although expensive, the food is worth it.

Good atmosphere. Service was excellent. I was seated quickly and found the menu and drink selections to be good. I ordered risotto with chicken breast and added a side salad. The salad was great but the risotto and chicken were so bland. No flavor and no spinach as advertised in the menu. The bread slice of fresh bread was good but I lef most of my meal sitting on the pate-not because I wasn't hungry because the only flavor was butter! But, the cranberry crunch dessert made up for it. Not too sweet but absolutely delicious! I will come back for the dessert and service, and maybe pick a more flavorful entree choice next time.

We stopped here while traveling and tried a couple of the roll up sandwiches. The food was good but really nothing special although if you are looking around there is not a lot of competition. Service was good and friendly atmosphere was a little different as it's in kind of small mall with grocery, clothing etc. No real complaints but not really thrilled over anything either. Maybe dinner would be better.

We stopped here after a long day of road tripping on the recommendation of our hotel owner. Being in a little town we didn't have great expectations and it looked a little "boring" from the road. Well, we got one of the biggest surprises of our trip. After grabbing most of our meals on the go, it was just nice to sit down in a comfortable relaxing dining room. Don't be fooled by the outside, inside is a different world. Very clean and just plain comfortable. Nice, but not stuffy. We were veery impressed with the menu. 3 different soups to pick from, a good selection of app's, sandwiches, dinners, and a really nice page of smaller portioned meals. Perfect for travelers who can't enjoy the leftovers. I had the fish and chips and they were nice enough to substitute the fries for mashed potatoes which I was really in the mood for. The fish and the potatoes were really good, and just the right amount. My mom got a chicken pot pie type of meal, but with a flakier pastry shell. It was in a delicious white wine sauce. Our friend got the sirloin small plate and was very satisfied. We also had the chicken and spaetzel soup and it was served piping hot and was very yummy. We talked the whole meal about the awesome looking desserts, but were too full to indulge. The service was a bit slow, but very friendly and attentive. I would come back and recommend it to others in the area.

For as long as I can recall, my family has timed our numerous trips so we pass through Tomah during a meal time. So on a recent solo trip, even with a late start, I held off on dinner till reaching Tomah. On the special board, I noticed that the soup of the day was chicken based, so I decided to get the soup sampler and the pretzel appetizer. I really should have double checked, but when the soup came out, the third was a beef stew of some sort. They must have run out of the soup du jour? Anyway, I can't eat beef so I skipped that soup. Regardless, I was stuffed after just two soups and the pretzels (also two). The pretzels and accompanying cheese sauce and mustard was delicious. I might possibly have cleaned out the entire dish of cheese sauce with crumbs of bread and my fingers. :-) The two soups I had were good. I needed to add some salt and pepper to them, but I'd rather have that than have soups that come out over-salted. The seasoned butter that came out with the bread and crackers to accompany the soups was great, as was the bread. I was stuffed, but no visit is complete without pie. I got a slice of lemon meringue to go. That was my treat for arriving at my final destination late that evening. It easily survived the trip and was fantastic. My only quibble was waiting a bit for the hostess to seat me and my check to come. But in no means does it diminish my my experience. If that sort of thing would bother you and not be redeemed by the food and dessert, then it's really your loss.

Passing through town, I was leery of this place because I was afraid it would be a tourist trap, but I'm very glad I stopped. The dinner menu offered a nice selection ranging from sandwiches ($7) to full course meals ($15) I appreciated the "lighter menu" offerings and selected grilled-to-order 5 oz pork chop for $9. It came with baked apples on top, a side of 5-grain pilaf, fresh steamed veggies and home baked bread. I was STUFFED! And what a healthy balanced meal it was, in addition to being delicious. I hope the fellow who was disappointed here 2 years ago gives it another try...they are apparently under new management. I now have a menu in my glovebox so I remember to stop next time I'm in this part of the state.

I have never been disappointed eating at his place. The food is good, the help is polite and the menu and prices are very good. They need a little extra help in the bar from time to time. They seem to try and cover the bar and pub food with one bartender and no servers. So, sit back and have a drink, enjoy the game and be patient on the food, it is worth it.

It doesn't look like much on the outside but I was pleasantly surprised by the menu choices and prices. For a nice lunch in this area, I recommend this restaurant. I loved the house salad but nice variety of lunch items to choose from. They have wraps, soups, salads, burgers, pasta, wine & cheeses, sandwiches, and home made pies made daily.

We headed to Burnstad's for dinner after stopping by the Amtrak station to pick-up some key family at the near-by station. The restaurant is nicely situated in a mall type of environment, complete with a clothing shop, grocery store, and other gift-type shops. We ordered up a few soups (have I mentioned that soup is my favorite food??), a dinner salad, and a bratwurst and sauerkraut plate. The soup was fabulous...great flavor, perfectly cooked noodles, and piping hot. Yummy! The salad was a typical side salad. The bratwurst was meh. It came with a side of potatoes, which were undercooked but full of flavor. Overall, the meal was good and we had a nice time.

I was told to go to this place. I was told the food was great and priced well. Nope... The food was average at best. The service was very slow on a Friday afternoon. I guess people go there because it is "European", but the only thing "European" was the prices.

Located in a strip of European specialities, this cute little restaurant serves wonderfully prepared selections. Presentation was whimsical- my roasted red potatoes were carved into tiny toadstools! I enjoyed the walleye- approx $18 for a bread basket of assorted slices of fresh bread (rye, wheat, cheese, etc), wild rice soup, lovely fillet, potatoes, and roasted tomato sauce. Some fun options on the less expensive side included a flight of soups: MN wild rice, chicken gnocchi, and soup of the day (?) for around $6, and a European cheese plate. Sandwiches were around or under $10. Entrees were between $10-20 for most options. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal: soups, salads, mushroom ravioli, walleye... and PIE! They offer a large selection of pies. The selection changes every day, and the display is lovely! The ambiance is of a small bistro on a European street. It is located inside, so there aren't any windows. The pub next door may have windows, but the dining room was open to the indoor "streets" of the market. It's not too far from either I-90 or I-94, so it's worth the stop even if you're just driving through.

I came to Tomah for work and Burnstad's came highly recommended. I'd gone to Tee Pee's which was also recommended and was disappointed. So I was apprehensive going to Burnstad's. But when I came to Burnstad's, it was a nice surprise. The food was good and well-cooked. I got the pork chop small plate and the pork chop was cooked perfectly with a little bit of grill crunch on the outside but juicy on the inside. The vegetables were also cooked perfectly. They weren't mushy and still had a little bit of crunch to them. Highly recommend getting the pork dish with the spaetzle. I didn't order it; someone else at my table did but I tried the spaetzle and it was really good. I was also told they had great bread and dessert. They were right. The complementary bread basket was tasty and had different kinds of bread. They have so many desserts - at least 20 twenty different kinds and also yummy. Definitely the best restaurant in Tomah given the options but not the best food I've ever had - hence the 4 stars.

I recently visited Tomah and decided to try Burnstad's based on the recommendation from my hostess at the Bed and Breakfast where we stayed. They had a nice little shop with crafts and other decor items. Most of the items were reasonably priced based on the fact it was a specialty shop. The market had a nice bakery/produce area, but the rest seemed like an average grocery store. We ate dinner at Burnstad's. The restaurant had a nice decor and offered dim lighting that would be perfect for a romantic evening, but also was lit enough so that my daughter could eat without making a mess. We had the hearty beef and vegetable soup. It was very flavorful with tender pieces of beef and vegetables that were well cooked. They also brought out a variety of breads and butters. My husband and I enjoyed the cheese bread the most. The house butter was mixed with spices, but I noticed the rosemary the most. I had the evening special which was a grilled pork chop with cherry chutney sauce, rice pilaf, and fresh steamed vegetables. My husband had the open face steak sandwich with fries. My daughter had the cheese pizza with apple sauce. I really enjoyed my meal. The pork chop was tender and juicy with the somewhat spicy, but tart cherry chutney sauce. The rice pilaf was a standard pilaf and the vegetables were cooked appropriately. My husband's meal was also good. The steak was not tough and the onions had good flavor. My daughter loved her pizza, but that's to be expected. For dessert, we shared the blackberry sour cream pie and the turtle cheesecake, both offered a nice sized portion. I thought the pie was very well made and had a wonderful taste. However, my husband felt it had an almost overwhelming taste and only had a few bites. The turtle cheesecake was good. However, I felt it was comparable to other turtle cheesecakes I have had at less expensive restaurants. Two entrees, one child's entree, a side of soup, two drinks, and two desserts came to a total of 40.14 not including tip. Our waitress was very nice and offered a friendly face and constant service. Overall I felt it offered a nice experience and was well worth the price. My husband and I left satisfied. If I am in Tomah again, I will have to return for a meal.

The lounge has great food and drink specials throughout the week! My favorite is the veggie quessadilla! It goes great with a Margarita or a Miller Lite. Great atmosphere and its smoke free! Definitely worth checking out!

Neat decoration but not the best value. Ravioli and cod were decent but the NY Strip was not a good cut nor value at all. Thin cut and tough. Can't say I'd go back again.

This place was a pleasant surprise. And for the food desert that is Tomah, it's a real gem. Very modestly priced (under $10 mostly) with a rather nice antique-y decor. Had the quiche, which was excellent. The egg was super light and airy, and the mixed greens salad was great as well. Wouldn't expect to find a place like this in Tomah, and I was glad I did. If you're stuck in Tomah and want to eat somewhere that isn't Culver's, your choices are the mediocre Ground Round and here. Go here.

I had the soup sampler, because All 3 soups sounded good. All 3 of them were winners. I also ordered the Cocoanut Shrimp off the appetizer menu. They were also very good. My husband had the Pork Chops wrapped in bacon. He cleaned his plate and enjoyed the Entree. We also split a dessert, the Strawberry-Blueberry Crisp with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream (yumm). We would return to this restaurant if in the area again.

Very bad and slow service. Food was just okay. I asked when the desserts were made and the waitress said they come frozen and can be out for 5 days!

Chicken spaezel soup is a winner. Can order to go. Amish chicken noodle casserole very good. Also like to try their gift shop. The cashew brittle is fantastic. Best i ever tried. On most visits we eat in the restaurant where service is great. But when we stopped on a Sunday, only the Pub was open Service in pub was terrible. Waitress ignored us. She seemed to be wishing we'd go eat elsewhere. I asked for the baked chicken but she claimed they were out already. Said she didn't have time to remove that item from the menu board. Interesting since there was only one other occupied table in the place. After we glared at her, she finally had one of friendly servers take our order. In spite of this one bad experience, i think the place is well worth a visit.

Good hearty food! Quick service and good prices. Unique building with grocery store next to restaurant. Close to I90. Definitely a "do over"
