A coffee shop by river. How quaint. It's not the best coffee you'll ever have or the best food. But it is a relaxing respite from your worries. Grab the iced Americano, a chocolate chip pumpkin muffin, maybe a sandwich and go sit outside in a shaded courtyard by the Milwaukee River. I did for a few hours. It's so much better than stuffing yourself into a Starbucks. There's plenty of room and outlets inside, too, if that's your thing.

Fiddleheads is still a great place to go for coffee. My family likes to sit outside and chit chat while people watching.. we do this nearly three times a week. The cedarburg location is great for us since it is so close to my house. Over the past year or two, fiddleheads has changed from freshly made sandwiches (mostly cold, non-heated sandwiches), to only hot sandwiches. The reason this bothers me is because they are all prepackaged now, and all the server has to do is heat the sandwich up. I am sure they heat them because they would be soggy from sitting there all day. They really skimp on the ingredients now. I ordered a grilled cheese and could barely taste the cheese, you would never know there were apricots on the apricot chicken if it wasn't in the name, I could go on about all of the sandwiches here. Honestly, the price is too high (over $8 for a small sandwich on a small roll with not much on it), and the quality has gone down, but hey.. it's still good food. I still go there to eat regardless of the decline in quality.

First time Fiddleheading. My gf wanted to check it out since it seemed like a cute little & local coffee shop & company that we had not yet been to. It's sort of like Collectivo, or even Panera, but with a smaller menu and less locations. I got a chocolate with strawberry mocha and my gf got a similar mocha drink. We both enjoyed our drinks. For food, I ordered a glorified turkey sandwich(it was actually terrific) and my gf got a chipotle chicken sandwich. The prices are a little high. $28 for two sandwiches and drinks seems a little expensive to me but I guess you're paying for the location(it's right off the river) and the upscale coffee shop it's trying to represent. I like the fact that they have outdoor seating and I also like the whole, "it looks like a house" motif. They have enough seating indoors as well. The menu is simple and not too overwhelming. I'm sure I'll come back here at some point, I just won't drive out of my way for it.

Whatever the little main street area of Thiensville might lack ever so slightly in the adorably charming factor (see: Cedarburg), in my mind it makes up for in convenience. Its slightly closer to get to from downtown, and the little yellow cottage with wraparound porch that houses the coffee shop is a block or so off the interurban trail. They have coffee and tea and all the drinks (lattes, chai, etc) one might expect. They also have smoothies, sandwiches (breakfast and otherwise) soups, baked goods, wraps, etc. Everything you might expect from a coffee shop. Theres outdoor seating on the little porch, as well as a number of tables and Adirondack chairs out back on a really beautiful patio facing the river. Inside its more like a little house, cottage-y like you'd find in a British mystery novel (or something). Staff has always been very pleasant and accommodating. A bike rack and parking lot are adjacent. The sign out front lists summer hours to 6:30 pm. I'm a fan - 4 stars.

The location in Thiensville is absolutely darling. Beautiful patio along the river. If you want to stay indoors, there's a table and chair right in front of a giant window looking out at the river. Also cozy corner nooks to hang out in.

Beyond amazing. All fiddles actually. Beyond the best food, service and especially the coffee. This place is my favorite due to location. Beyond beautiful in the summer.

Coffee on the river I'm a big coffee fan. I'm typically known for high maintenance coffee drinks. You know the kind with quad shots, made upside down, half the pumps, with non-fat milk. And, if I can find a place that has an atmosphere to evoke good creative thinking and get some work done I'm a happy camper. This Fiddleheads is located in Thiensville along the Milwaukee River. It's a small house with plenty of seating inside and out to enjoy a good coffee. The baked goods are delicious, too. Muffins, scones, and other interesting snacks and sandwiches are homemade locally. Be sure to grab a bag of beans before you leave to re-live your experience in your own home. What I love most about this place is it doesn't feel like a chain. It has character and a personality. Friendly faces are everywhere and the staff truly care about your visit. So the next time you're in the area, make a stop and enjoy a good cup of Jo in the outskirts of Thiensville.

I am a fan of fiddleheads in general. This location is very charming. The patio is large and overlooks the river. The inside is a bit cramped. I am guessing it would be very crowded on the weekends. Service is always good as well as the food. My favorite is their chocolate chip scones. They tend to run out though! My only complaint is they don't post their wifi password. Not a huge deal but their Mequon location offers free wifi which is a nice perk.

This location is perfect on a warm day to enjoy your coffee or tea with an amazing view of the river. I have been here several times and have always had great service when it comes to my orders. Not only are the coffees and teas amazing here yet they have a decent sized menu that ranges from vegetarian options including salads, and wraps to various other breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps. When the weather is cooler, head on inside where there is plenty of seating space to enjoy your drink and chat with friends and family. The area can get pretty load just with a few people talking so it isn't the best for studying if that is what you are looking for.

Wow! Just wow! What service! The second I walked in, I was embraced by a very friendly, warm welcome! The coffee, or "iced caramel latte" I had was incredible as well. I was seeking out just a small town coffee shop because I was interested to see what was beyond the "starbucks" seen. It's something I'm trying to do atleaste twice a week, and this is absolutely a place I plan on stopping at more than once

Coffee is fresh roasted, locally. Weekly specials on buying it by the pound. Dinning room is lovely, has a view of the river, and is a great place to chat with a friend. Food is good. Breakfast and bakery is great.

Still a 5-star coffee shop experience all these years later. On a lazy Sunday morning, I went for coffee and iced chai with my dad. Over the years, Fiddleheads has expanded and grown from that small coffee shop on Main Street Thiensville I remember. We enjoyed our coffee and iced chai latte on their great terrace which seems much bigger than I remember. The iced chai is Milwaukee's own tea outlet Rishi! Yeah for locally sourced, tasty tea! My dad enjoyed his regular selection of coffee as he frequents this cafe as a happily retired guy. They have a great food menu and tasty pastries. I enjoyed a folded over scone with an apricot filling accompanying my iced chai latte which my dad had a bagel. Talk about a delicious pastry, flaky and sugary. It hit the spot on a hot Sunday morning. I'll keep coming back here whenever I'm in town for the friendly staff, delicious food and pastries, and awesome beverages.

Lovely little local coffee shop. Wildly busy during the lunch hour, and probably other times as well. This is a sign that it's a great place, but also mildly vexing if you're in a hurry. Coffee was excellent.

There are some places that know well how to pair coffee with bakery. Fiddleheads is one of those places. On a morning spent with Mom and little sister, on our way to Cedarburg, I felt compelled to give them access to the roasted goodness. The newest Fiddleheads location has more to offer than its smaller cafes, because the coffee beans are roasted and packaged at this facility. Plus, you are able to observe the process all over a cup of java and a scone. That is exactly what I did this morning. I ordered a medium roast coffee (excellent) and a "Fiddlehead" scone (nummy-num-num). My mom went for the carrot muffin (very moist and good) and mixed berry smoothie, and my sister chose the praline crunch cake with a mixed berry smoothie. Odd combinations as they may be, there were smiles around the table. Everything was applauded. I wish the cafe was a tad closer to my house. But, whenever I make my way to Cedarburg (which is quite often, actually), I will stop to make some scone other bakery purchases. You can always use extras for your weekend consumption. I believe in stocking up on treats when you stop at a place like Fiddleheads. They have my stamp of approval in the pastry department.

Fiddlehead's brews my favorite cup of coffee. Their location along the river in Thiensville is what Norman Rockwell would have created were he commissioned to paint the neighborhood coffee shop. Also, the baked goods are far superior to the mega coffee shops. Best coffee, better baked goods, local ownership and a charming ambiance at all of their locations - I love supporting this local business as they continue to grow!

Location! Location! Location! The first reason I would go there is for the location. Cannot wait to go back this summer as they have a back patio overlooking the river and it is just peaceful. Love the drinks and also the baked goods.

If you want a good coffee shop you need to go to one of Alterra's coffee shops! Fiddleheads is not consistent and there food leaves much to be desired. How can you not have Whole wheat bread for making sandwiches?????? I have never been to a food place that does not have a WW choice. Several of my friends and I when we have gone there have suggested it but they just ignore their customers. I don't go there anymore.

Great cozy atmosphere, great brewed coffee and a warm welcoming staff are why I am a regular at this cafe.
