Stopped in this morning (Saturday) about 5:30am to pick up a bite for breakfast on my way to put in a couple hours at the office. Staff was super friendly. Great selection of donuts to choose from. Very pleased with the service and selection that was available only a half hour after opening. This place has just been open about a week and my first experience was very good. Will definitely go back.

My friend brought me here after picking me up at the train depot, to get sandwiches to take home for us and others still at her home. She was ordering the tuna fish sandwiches and I thought, why not try it? She claimed they were better than Subway. I'm already familiar with Subway in my home area and I already know that Subway makes some good sandwiches, but tuna fish is NOT one of them. And wow, I was not even all that hungry but I could tell that was easily the beet tuna fish sandwich I'd ever had! I only gave it 4 stars because there is not one in Union Grove. It's a week later and I'm wondering if it is worth it to make another drive out there (in the snow!)??

Very popular and busy breakfast & lunch diner. Best service in town. Very friendly and professional wait staff. Your coffee cup will never go empty. I only eat breakfast here and it is always good. Prices are reasonable and portions are hearty. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that stop you from stopping in.
Fast and friendly service. Amazingly fresh breakfast food. The coffee never goes empty.
Meh, just ok. Had a mediocre burger, service was nothing special. She did not have the cook remove what I did not want on it. I would stick to breakfast if you do end up eating here. My girlfriend had an omelette which was much better than what I got.

Since my first visit, we've been back a few times because my husband loves the wing special. After dealing with the crabby waitress a few times, we lucked out and started getting better servers. I've tried a few menu items, from burgers to pasta. Everything is decent..but I would stick to the basics with them. It is a nice place for a beer and a bite to eat. Don't expect something amazing and you'll walk away happy.
Great seafood place. Not many people know about this place. Katrina was a great waitress. Food was good hot and presented nicely. Really enjoyed ourselves.
Decent food, good drinks. They have all-you-can-eat crab legs one of the week nights and they were really good, however I have never had real crab meat before coming here.

I drove up to this location and initially thought it was closed. From the outside, it looked rather empty inside, but it had an OPEN sign, so ventured in. I guess I had high expectations of a quaintly decorated bakery with a gorgeous presentation of baked goods and cute trinkets around the store. It's a storefront with baked goods - no special presentation, no frills. There is a refrigerator with sodas and such there, which doesn't add to the bakery "feel." Crates and cases of soda and drinks were stacked up on the floor. There were 3 small tables in the bakery, but one was used for storage. So, 2 usable tables and 5 chairs that were available. Basically, the atmosphere is dull. I had to try the traditional Kringle. Sorry to say, I wasn't impressed. Sorry, I'm sure some people really love it. But, it was mediocre. As for the positives. I had a cheese danish. It was absolutely fabulous. So, the baked goods are certainly well worth the visit.

On our way to Pleasant Prairie outlet so decided to stop somewhere for breakfast. Had never been at Iron Skillet before so I thought we would be adventurous and give the truck stop a try. I love stopping at places like this, always an experience. We were greeted and seated right away. I was surprised how nice it was inside and that they had a salad bar too. We ordered off the menu and I got a spinach, egg and pepper jack breakfast sandwich with hash browns and my son to a grilled cheese. It took quite a long time to get the order but when it came it was very good. I wasn't expecting much so it turned out ok. Tasted better than it looked. Service was slooooooowwwww. Wasn't' impressed with our waitress at all. Not friendly, not motivated and didn't seem to care to be there. How sad. Overall, good experience and I would definitely stop in again to try something different.
We stop at the Iron Skillet mainly for the amazing cole slaw. They make it in house and a side is enough for two. The staff is always very nice and the business seems to be well run.
If you don't want to be bothered with drink refills or being asked "how is your meal?" before getting your bill, then this place is for you. Food was slow to get but it was hot.

Good food, but they're not used to strangers. I walked in at 2:30pm and all the employees just stared. Someone, not my waitress, asked if I wanted coffee, then made a big show that she offered as though no one believed her. My waitress only spoke to me when I was halfway through the page to see if I was enjoying everything. Greek Spaghetti was excellent, but could use one or two more ingredients. Feta cheese, green peeps and noodles is tasty but could use garlic and some other veggies. The specials all come with a glass of wine which I thought was odd for a workday, but appreciated. All told, Greek spaghetti, beef barkley soup, scrawberry snortcake and a glass of Manischewitz - 8.40. I'll go back unless I need something professional or even friendly.
This place used to be great, ten years ago. The time before this trip, some idiot blocked me in space, so I had to climb through my car. This trip wasn't stellar either. The veal parmesan was definitely underdone. The split pea soup was nearly chunky. Free dessert, tapioca pudding...boring more so than other places. Whats with the free glass of wine, its Monday!!! Waitress neither offered me free wine or a chance to add anything to my order...she was busy yelling over my table to some regulars!!! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE.
I love to explore, looking for interesting places like Castlewood, for breakfast. The area is unique and when I discovered this Castlewood I thought it was going to be a winner. However after striking out on three separate trips there, I am giving up. People are very nice but the breakfast cooks must really try to ignore any and all requests from customers. Not sure what is so hard about eggs to order, crispy hash browns or well done sausage but it's beyond them. Three times they're out. Too many great breakfast spots around.
