My friend had been here before and had a good experience so I tried it based on her recommendation. My experience was poor, to say the least. The good - service was O.K. and the home made ice tea was great. BUT that was it. I had a taco salad (probably a mistake because very few do a good one). The shell was completely inedible. The only good thing about it was the portion was so small that you didn't have to eat a lot. Limited menu. Over priced for what you get. Would defiantly avoid this.

Stopped in Stockholm, WI on our way along the river and spotted this quaint little cafe and had to stop in for some lunch! Most of these small towns have your class Bar & Grill, so I was glad to see something a bit fresher! We sat on their patio, which is draped with Weeping Willows (my fave!) and it was so relaxing. Service was a little slow, but it seemed like it was a one woman show, so I understood. The menu is tiny- its just posted on a board outside. Maybe 6 options, including breakfast. I settled on a wrap with a cup of soup. All the ingredients were super fresh and VERY beautifully arranged. Prices were a bit higher than I expected- I think my wrap and side was $13. Across the way they also have a small bakery, so next time I plan to pop in there!

The good years for this cafe are long gone, the deck is getting very weathered and is starting to show some rot, in other words way past its prime, the vegetation (flowers) are in need of some "TLC" and maybe some fresh planting. The service was subpar and waitress was clueless as to the menu, the plates were to come with a soup of choice and a side, when asked what the sides were she said what ever they want to put on the plate,'I guess they don't understand the concept of choices for what one is going to eat, most people want to choose their side dishes. Now for the price, apparently they don't like to price each dish so all breakfasts are $12.75 and lunches are 13.75, there terrible looking dry nachos are the same price as a mediocre ham sandwich and nothing was worth the money, a better and cheaper meal could be bought from a gas station, if your taste buds are numb and you have a pocketful of money go ahead, but never again for me.

It's bogus, dude! No, really. Quite expensive for what it is, slow, and with some strange twists. It was an early lunch sorta thing and I was saving room for the spectacular pie across the street at Stockholm Pie Co. My friend had some eggs, bacon, and toast. The toast was cinnamon raisin and came with a bizarre butter/strawberry jam concoction that made no sense. I had the gazpacho, which was really quite good, but at $8 for a bowl of soup, a little silly. With tax and a tip our tidy little meal was over twenty bucks, which is absurd. Had I realized that Stockholm Pie Co now makes sandwiches and meat pies I wouldn't have struck out in search for a lunch spot in the first place. Tourist trap of the highest order.

Super cute little restaurant. We had a large group and sat on the patio. We were all happy with our food. I had the BLAT, very good fresh. Friendly service. Cash only! Or checks, I was surprised some in our group still carried them. I see people are complaining about prices? I don't know I guess I' m from the city and am used to paying $10 or whatever for a sandwich.

We stopped in for lunch this summer with a group of four. We ordered our food . It was mediocre at best and way overpriced. The real kicker was when we paid the bill and the waitress brought us back the wrong change by about fifty dollars. She totally ignored us for a very long time until I Practically shouted for her to stop. She came to the table and immediately knew what was wrong. Service was so bad and the food was nothing special for the outrageous prices they charge. I would never return here. Do yourself a favor and keep driving to Pepin.

Cute restaurant nestled among several shops on the north/east side of 35 in the quaint town of Stockholm. On a nice day choose the shaded patio seating if you can, the interior part of the cafe could use a better exhaust system, we left smelling like we'd spent some serious time in front of their fryer! We found the service to be fine, our server was helpful and friendly. Bring cash or your checkbook, this and several other shops in town don't take credit/debit cards. On the upside the Smoked Tomato Soup, which wasn't particularly smokey, was chunky and otherwise flavored well. My B.L.A.T. (bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato sandwich), was delicious. Plenty of crispy bacon, perfectly ripe tomatoes & just the right amount of mayo. A nice selection of breakfast and lunch items makes this a good dining option, bonus - you can pick up some great tasting pastries or a fresh loaf of bread from their bakery. They serve a decent cup of coffee too.

I am a fan, but it is not without its flaws. The good... General- great little spot, very relaxing. Nice place for a burger and beer. Food- typically very good and interesting Bakery next door- Delish... and sometimes just plain amazing! Dog friendly... a plus for those traveling with pets! The bad... Prices- high... not crazy unreasonable, but can easily spend 30 bucks on 2 for bfast. Cash only, but they have their own ATM Service... always friendly and always sloooow. Coffee refills on the hour Should you go... yes. But split a plate and save some coin for the bakery and the Stockholm pie company. You will be glad you did (and bring your own thermos if you want your coffee hot!).

We stopped here today, out on a bike ride. It is in a nice location. We ordered a ham and cheese omelete, and some breakfast hash. My expectations were high as the prices seemed high for that area. 11.75 for an omelette, we also had coffee. our food was served, my omelette browned and flat, so I sent it back. My companion was slowly eating his food, and I asked him what it was like, OK was the reply. I got my next omelette and it was raw... :( nor was our coffee ever offered to be refilled... Now, if you want to charge me 11 + dollars for an omelette, fine, but at least have your cook be educated enough to cook one properly. I will give all my business to someone else... and tell as many people I can NEVER to come here.

It looked promising. The outdoor space is especially inviting. We rode the Tour de Pepin, a bike tour around Lake Pepin, and had some time to spare. So, we perused the menu and decided to give it a shot. The "Bogus Hash" breakfast was indeed that, sorry to report. The massive pile of hash browns was soggy, oil-laden. The hash part, sausage, potatoes, veggies, cheese, was an uninspiring, bland, conglomeration. My wife's BLT was a 3 of 5. The bread basket was consumed by me because I was in a state of deep hunger. The dark pieces and the orangish pieces are what, what are they? All said and done, we spent $28 with no drinks hand didn't have much to say for it. It looked as though it could have been a Foodie's place, but it doesn't seem to be. Alas.

I'd been missing my chance to try the Bogus Creek for a few years, and to be honest, it may have even changed hands since I first discovered it and wanted to eat there. It is in such a lovely area, off the highway enough and tucked away between two old buildings so that the Harley roarers aren't a factor. This is good. We went there on a very busy day, a Sunday on which the Art Tour was happening, so that may--or may not-- be a factor in how our experience went down. One of the plusses was the very charming woman who greeted us. She seemed to be just the person one might expect to have a nice, charming restaurant tucked away in a spot like this. Sadly, there are not many more plusses to point out. The menu is sparse, with two soups, a very few sandwiches, a few pasta dishes and a few salads. Almost nothing stood out like you might expect; something that says what a delightful place you have found. And certainly nothing that justifies the prices!! ZOMG... $6 for what seemed to be an 8oz bowl of soup-- that we had to ask for the bread advertised as its accompaniment. It was Smoked ham potato chowder, but it had broken, so it was a hot bowl of milk with a ring of butter fat and green stuff around the edge. The Reuben was an interpretation rather than the real thing. (For that, go to Cecil's or similar if you aren't familiar with what it is supposed to represent. Plus, Cecil's comes with a big gob of something delicious like cole slaw or potato salad worthy of my Jewish in-laws.) This was two open-face slices of dark bread, with 1/8'' thick slices of corned beef, 1000 Island dressing, kraut and shredded (!!) Swiss cheese. I think it was Swiss. At any rate, it was in a pile on top of the two halves. Also on the plate was a hot, thin slice of orange, a warm strawberry, a dry and warm 1" cube of cantaloupe, some warm salad greens topped with room-temp, over-cooked broccoli mush. Obviously, everything had been plated at the same time, and then put in the window for.... too long. And that's it. For $14. Suggestion: if you use fruit as a garnish, don't put it under the heat lamp. Here's my gripe: if you are lucky to have a place in such a pretty spot, why would you let it be so mediocre as to teach people not to make it a return stop, or even a destination like the Harbor View? It looked as though all the servers were teenagers. This might reflect a hard time attracting better qualified professionals who either already know what good service is, or who can be trained. My take is, spend a little and clean up the place; get some better tables and chairs, make sure that the salt shakers are more salt than old yellow rice, use real tableware (not shiny plastic), clean the damn water carafes, polish up the prep and cook skills, and make the menu something memorable for good things, not for bad execution. Then get more deuces, and train the servers diligently and let them start earning good money from a well-thought and executed menu, and employing good skills to turn tables efficiently. Sorry; run-on is my middle name. But I think I'm right. Look at the success that Harbor View has had for thirty one years. Get better, and earn the prices you are charging.

Nice little gem in Stockholm. We we're anchored on a boat out overnight near the campground and wondered in for breakfast. We've been through Stockholm often but had always missed this place. Come with cash, or use their ATM. Delicious flavor combination. It was an expensive breakfast but well worth it. The portions are large too, so next time I think we'll share a meal and get the mimosas! I'm looking forward to trying a lunch or dinner their too. Menu was not over crowded yet it offered food for us vegetarians and the carnivores among us.

I thought the menu was very interesting, the food was great, the theme was crazy cool. Then there was the service it really was poor, it took over an hour from when I sat down to when I got my food, the owner said our server was new and gave us our food for free. She also gave us some free deserts that were great. I will stop there again, great food, just not great for a big group on a sunday.
