The Three Lions Pub was our last St Paddy's Day weekend stop. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Caveat: I hadn't slept the night before, not for reasons you might think, our one year old was up all night. So, while others in our group ordered St Paddy's Day beverages, I ordered coffee. It took them 30 minutes to bring me coffee. I was brought a 3/4 full coffee. I never got a refill of coffee. I was informed they didn't have enough pots to brew enough for the crowd that was there for the Liverpool game. I am a Mom of two...and I didn't get coffee. I reserve the right to update my review if I go back under different circumstances. The atmosphere was good. The service was great - excellent in fact - our server did update me on the status of the coffee often. The crowd was fun. The food was good. My daughter's pancakes were burnt, but again, there was a huge crowd that morning, I'm guessing (by the reviews) the food is better on other days.

Love this pub. A little slice of England in Milwaukee. I enjoy the beer selection, the English cuisine is delicious and the environment is very similar to that of a English pub in the UK. The bartenders and waitstaff are awesome and I recommend it for anyone looking for a place to watch a football match or just wanting to hangout with friends and enjoy a pint. The only negative I have is the American food they attempt.. Not the greatest. Steer clear of the spinach artichoke dip. Haha. But don't let that stop you from heading down to Three Lions Pub.. Pretty awesome place.

What? The hummus disappeared from the menu?! Still, a nice place for a beer and relaxing with friends.

Great bar food, fun bar, and awesome atmosphere! We have been here many times-sometimes with kids for lunch and dinner and it's a great place for fish and chips, burgers, and beer. There is always noise so the kids fit right in! We also have been here for drinks and it is a very fun place to drink. The last time we were here they had a live band. They recently expanded too. They always seem to have fun events. They had a huge party for the world cup and there was some type of block party here last fall too. Overall, highly recommend!

Truly a great experience. ..cold beer..good guys and great food...the English style chips and the old fashioned curry is the ducks guts..get on it

It was crowded but we got a table promptly. The waitress was very charismatic and helped up navigate the beer menu. We were able to try some great beers that we wouldn't have otherwise! Great atmosphere with large TVs to watch sports games on.

Really cool English pub vibe. If you go you must order the giant pretsal - it tastes awesome. If I dare say it's on of the best things I have ever eaten - it comes with stone ground mustard, Nacho cheese, and their own cheddar sauce for dips. The fish and chips that the wife and I ordered were really good. The service once we got waited on was excellent - the food came quick and we were checked up on during the meal.

I went here once with a group I'm in, and I was quite awesome. Let's start with the food. The Fish and Chips were absolutely amazing. Very high quality and a decent prize. The poutine was highly addictive. However I don't know what that green pea like side was, but it was strange. The drinks were fairly priced, I had a Newcastle, and they had a pretty good choice of beers. The servers were British, to add to the anglosphere, giving it that authentic British feel. They also air Soccer/Football. Which is also a very good reason to go. Fantastic Overall.

My brother took my fiancé and I out for dinner and chose Three Lions. The food was excellent, I had the corned beef and cabbage and it was outstanding. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that I found the beer selection to be underwhelming. Definitely worth trying, as we all enjoyed our menu choices!

Pros: -Great location -Generally easy to find parking on Oakland or a side street -Nice variety of beer/cider -Good food (breakfast was great) -Perfect place to watch soccer games -Friendly staff Cons: -None! Things to note: -A little pricier than other Milwaukee establishments but seems generally in line with the area. -The place fills up early for major soccer games, so arrive early if you want a seat! Four stars. Definitely fan-worthy.

I love Three Lions' English fish and chips! Of course, you would expect a place owned and staffed by a load of Brits to be able to do it right! Thick cuts of cod, deep-fried to perfection, a heap of chips, flavorful sauce, rye bread, and a cup of mushy peas. Really delicious, especially with one of the many beers they have on tap. Also a great place to just enjoy a beer and a pretzel (yes, it is gigantic) with friends. Friendly staff (with lovely accents), but they can get loud! So, maybe this isn't the best place to take a date for an intimate meal, but it's loads of fun and delicious food, if you just want to have a good time!

Great atmosphere - so warm, inviting, friendly and fun! Awesome bartenders. Good sports watching with lots of TVs. The crowd on a Saturday morning was full of enthusiastic soccer and basketball fans - fun group. Scotch Eggs were amazing!

Great place to go for a bite to eat, everything on the menu is great. Great place to try some import beers and some classic mixers. Staff is always amazing, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we have a great experience. That is what I give 5/5 stars on. Only issues I've ever had were trying to use some restraunt.com gift certificates that I purchased, which is disappointing. My advice is just don't bother trying to use them, you'll be jumping through hoops. Sometimes they accept them, other times they don't. And it's not like I'm trying to use it on a Friday or Saturday, it's like for a Tuesday lunch... So anyways, I bought 2 of these discount coupons for $12 each, and it says for use on dinner and drinks. The management should either reimburse those of us who have these or honor them and stop offering the coupons for sale. This is why this place is only a 4 star for me, wish they would treat my wallet how they would want to be treated.

This place is no phony. Everything is British even the people that work there. Saturday night they had a live band which was a great setting in the background. The drinks here are good and tall. The fish fry is spectacular. The bartender messed up the check but they were very apologetic. Everything I've had here food wise is awesome - this is a must go to place in Shorewood!

A great atmosphere for drinks and also great food. The Diesel drink is awesome (beer combo with black currant). Also try the poutine (steak fries smothered in gravy & cheese curds) and if you are trying the wings definitely get the house sauce. I will be back for more great times and food.

I've visited Three Lions several more times since my first review and it is definitely time for an update. My boyfriend and I recently had dinner here and all I can say is WOW. Besides the awesome bartenders/wait staff and atmosphere, they have INCREDIBLE food. I cannot speak highly enough of this place! We split an order of the small poutine for an appetizer. If you have never had poutine I recommend trying it... Delicious thick cut French fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds. It's heaven. The only thing that could make this poutine better was if the cheese curds were warm/melted. For my entree, I had the Gardner's Pie - it was like a vegetarian Shepard's Pie with a variety of veggies and wild rice topped with garlic mashed potatoes in a huge boat. So huge I was only able to eat just more than half. I convinced my boyfriend to order the Three Lions Massive - a burger sandwiched between 3 slices of buttered toast with bacon, English bacon (AMAZING!!!!!), 2 types of cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. It was ginormous. The burger patty alone was 1/2 pound. This burger was so big he could hardly pick it up. It seriously must have weighed 2 pounds. And if that wasn't enough, it comes with a more than generous side of the delicious fries. There were so many interesting and unique foods on the menu that I cannot wait to return... I think I hear the giant pretzel calling my name already! Make sure you come extremely hungry!!!! Also, the burger was WAY BETTER than Solbeman's in every way possible! I'd say the Three Lions Massive is the best burger in Milwaukee.... it needs to get on Man Vs Food or one of those food war shows :D

This is the real deal, folks - started by lads from over the pond that came over to play soccer/football for Cardinal Stritch. The decor is appropriately dark and sporty. We love Ceili the waitress - also from over the pond. She's fun, enthusiastic, warm, casual and smart about food and drink. Best scotch egg we've ever had. A highly respectable traditional English Breakfast. The place just makes me smile the whole time I'm there.

I think the Three Lions has the best fish fry in Milwaukee. The English Fish and Chips with the Mushy Peas was perfect! Excellent quality cod, nice thick and crispy batter, great flavor, thick chips, malt vinegar, and peas. My husband had the Shepherd's Pie, which was also excellent, real mashed potatoes, flavorful and hearty stew, enough for dinner and lunch the next day. I recommend it.

"Alright guvnor, how bouts we shake off the ol' ball and chain and pop down to the pub for a Bill Murray and a few Britney Spears?" I'm an Englishman who lives in America, and one of the constant torments I have to endure is people addressing me in the above manner because they think that they're connecting with me all whilst being über hilarious. They're not. What's worse is when an "English" pub takes the same approach. The Dog's Bollocks was one such place. John Hawks Pub is another. Throwing a photo of the Queen on the wall and shoving a red phone box outside does not make you an English pub. No pub I've ever been to in the homeland has included either of these in their decor, and it's even harder to justify your moniker when you consider Leinenkugels to be your best "import". The Three Lions breaks this trend with a vengeance. Yes, they have the odd photo of the queen and one too many Keep Calm gags for my liking on the walls, but they are quintessentially British in character. From the owners and bar staff who hail almost exclusively from the motherland, to their commitment to providing a place for Milwaukee to watch every EPL game no matter what time of day it's on (6am is nothing to these lads), they work hard to earn their name as the best English Pub in Milwaukee, and they deserve it. What's most impressive is their commitment to providing an English flavor on the menu. Plenty of places will have an "British" menu of fish & chips, hot wings, cheeseburgers and ribs (hint, only one truly English dish in there), but the Three Lions orders REAL ENGLISH BACON. If you want to know the difference, it's just like American bacon, but exactly 7 times more awesome. They also provide black pudding in their breakfast, which can be most simply described as fried clotted pig's blood. Seriously. I'm not a fan, but my people love it. If you're in there for lunch or dinner, try the Toad in the Hole - generous helpings of delicious sausage with perfect gravy over Yorkshire puddings - my favourite. The beer selection is a healthy mix of English, Irish, generic and local craft, and while a little pricey for me (a few drinks and a meal for two rarely comes below $50), you can't argue with the quality and appropriateness to their location. I love Milwaukee and this big ol' country to bits, but thanks to the Three Lions, I can pop down the street and find myself at home any time I want. Cheers boys, and keep up the good work!

Went here after the Shorewood Bike Race, place was busy but we got seated right away. Took 10-15 minutes to get a drink menu, then another 10-15 minutes to order drinks. Drinks arrived but we were not offered to take a dinner order. We never saw our sever again. A half hour later I then had to flag someone down so we could get our check. I gave a $10 for a $7 check. Never got change, decided to just never come back again. Even when a restaurant is busy, customers need to be attended to as equally as possible.

Amazing experience tonight at three lions. The atmosphere and wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive. My husband and I had the chicken curry and fish n chips, respectively. The food was delicious, service was speedy, and price was fair. Would definitely recommended!!!

Great pub! Nice atmosphere, great food. Tried the Belizean burger, and it was fantastic. Great beer. Also, nice to see a Liverpool FC flag up on the wall! Highly recommend Three Lions Pub.

FOOD: There's really nothing not to like here. English + Wisconsin - it's like comfort food heaven for me. Two different fish and chips? Three different shepard's pie? We came on build your own burger night, which was awesome too. But I may just stick with the Wisconsin fish and chips. Huge piece of fish, nicely battered. Definitely will be back. ENVIRONMENT: What you'd expect at a pub. The place is a lot bigger than it seems. They have some nice huge booths - big enough for 6. Lots of decorations on the wall. SERVICE: Good enough for a pub. Love the british accents. One of our dishes ended up being cold and there was no trouble sending it back.

Great drinks and service! I've always had a really positive experience with the staff here. The food is pretty good as well. I don't care for the curry here, but I've tried some of their other dishes (bruschetta, vegetarian shepherd's pie, grilled cheese and tomato soup). The tomato soup wasn't great - it seemed like the cheese in the bisque hadn't completely melted all the way, but it was otherwise good. Great grilled cheese though! Great place to have in Shorewood!

I'd say Three Lions has improved over time. The first couple visits I made to this pub were of the late-night variety, and the place seemed overrun by drunks with bad musical taste. However, they did have games to play and it's in the bar-barren wasteland of Shorewood, so you can't be too picky. The last time through I was impressed by the way the place felt more like a proper pub, with the wooden booths that project some privacy and the large beer list that had many intriguing imports and good domestic craft brewers. I had the beef pasty with mashed potatoes and was happy with it; lots of food for a reasonable price and pretty darn good. Service was fine: friendly folks. With the lack of options in the immediate vicinity, this is a pretty nice spot to be able to drink/eat and still be able to walk home if you live in Shorewood. Also, juke boxes are always a plus, and this place has one.

Great place for a causal first date. Bar staff were all friendly and there was a good mix of ages. Date enjoyed the large assortment of beer choices. Loud enough to talk about inappropriate things in public but not too loud we had the scream across the table.

The bartender, Kyle, knows what in the heck he's doing! He pours his beers with the perfect amount of head based on the type of beer he is serving. It was a Sunday night, so the place was not busy and had a real neighborhood vibe going. This is great, since I will be moving to this neighborhood in a few short weeks and look forward to walking to Three Lions. For dinner I had the Wisconsin Fish & Chips made with Walleye. Although I prefer my walleye pan-fired, this dish was very good with a good thick piece of fish and thick cut steak fries. The accompanying cole slaw was just the way I like it with a tart vinegar base and not overloaded with mayo or celery seed. I look forward to trying some of the more traditional dishes on the menu including the cottage pie, bangers and mash, and corned beef and cabbage!

Again, the food is fabulous. We came here to watch Liverpool vs Chelsea. It was a 10:00 game. Surprisingly we were able to have our pick of the place. We sat near the kitchen which was great because you could see all that lovely food come out (and it was by the largest screen for our viewing pleasure). The table we sat at smelled a little boozy (to be expected) and like vomit (not pleasant). Our server started out being awesome (actually there were two servers regularly checking in on us), but after eating our food, we hardly saw her. As a matter of fact, we went a good 20 minutes without anyone stopping by to see if we needed drinks (we did, but opted not to). It was busy, yes, but it wasn't the busiest I've seen the place. I'll keep going back as long as the food remains so damn good, but I think the service is still lacking.

OK, even though 2 stars looks real bad, this place isn't bad at all. I am however hesitant to just give them a A-OK because you know what.... Meh....I've experienced better. We've come for the food three times and for trivia two of those three times. So far I've tried quite a few of their "signature" dishes. I am not running back for any of them. The curry is alright, the burger is fine, the chicken strips are OK, and the chips leave a little to be desired. Nothing is bad, but nothing makes me rush back. So I mentioned that we have gone for trivia twice. Trivia is on Wednesdays at 8 in the PM and lasts about a hour. The damage is $1 per person... free is always better, but $1 is pretty cheap entertainment. If you love bar trivia, never miss it and it is the highlight of your week.... stop reading my review. OK, who are these degenerates that go to trivia every week? One team looks like Rick Moranis & Amy Poehler have a family of Duggars in Milwaukee. Don't get me wrong I like to win.... but if winning turns me into these people, I'll take the loss and go back to a home other than my mom basement.

Just made it back in to Three Lions the other night and wanted to up the stars to 5! This has become one of my favorite bars in Milwaukee (technically Shorewood). I love the fact that it is totally unpretentious, excellent food, adorable British bartenders, ciders, team trivia, outside seating, easy parking, and an awesome atmosphere. We arrived minutes before the kitchen was closing, and the bartender/kitchen staff were considerate enough to get our order in! The food was once again delicious, and cooked to perfection. However I was informed the sweet potato waffle fries are off the menu now... :( Otherwise the 'chips' with malt vinegar are a perfect combination. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend a night out at Three Lions!

  • Tony K.

I am a huge fan. Not only is it literally a walk across the street from me, I appreciate what this bar has to offer. I love a place that genuinely cares about pleasing the customer. Three Lions doesn't disappoint. They have a great space, nice bar, good selection of tap beers, and pleasant bartenders. Check it out - I don't think you'll regret it!

The best burgers I have ever had! The waters fake an English accent though so kinda weird but good service and great food

Headed here for lunch in Milwaukee area after my morning at the Globe in Chicago and heading up to Green Bay. Beautiful area, nice town right on the lake. Great place, awesome service, good food and a ridiculous beer menu. Again, wish we had a place like this in Jersey.

    (4)
  • Jules M.

Thankfully this place is not in my back yard because it is LOUD! I have heard many neighbors who moved into the nice new condos across the street that opened before Three Lions as well as home owners nearby complain about this place because it is so loud. Anyway, if you like soccer, like to yell your conversation and have an obsession with small men with euro accents (like half this town seems to). This is your place.

My husband and I enjoyed an evening out with beer and appetizers. He loved the scotch eggs and I was super happy with the giant pretzel. The wait and bar staff were all happy! You could tell they enjoyed working there which made our experience better. Lots of choices. We were there early for a Saturday (7ish) so there were still plenty of families. One little boy was just really tired but the wait staff was very patient and helpful. Would not hesitate to bring children in early. Looking forward to going back and ordering dinner.

  • Melanie B.

Holy Big Pretzel!! We ordered this for an app but it ended up being our dinner as well it was so ginormous! Also, very delicious. I am a sucker for stadium cheese (i.e. not really cheese but just chemicals that are made the taste like cheese. Yup. Me likes that) so thank GOODNESS one of the sauces was stadium cheese, the other two were mustard and queso. The queso was not so good so next time I would probably order 2 stadium cheese's and 1 mustard. The food here has been pretty hit and miss for me in the past. They do have a new menu however nothing really jumped out at me that night as a "Must Get" item- hence we settled on the pretzel. The reason we keep going back to Three Lions is for the service and friendliness of this bar. It truly has that warm and fuzzy feeling and it makes you want to stay awhile. A perfectly poured Guinness and Boddingtons doesn't hurt either! What a much needed neighborhood pub!

    (4)
  • Becky S.

Yay, this place is great! You must get the big pretzel. Seriously it's so big you will pee your pants a little in excitement. It comes in a pizza box, if that helps you imagine it. I also tasted some of the Shepard's pie which was good . Also tried a super delicious banana bread beer here. Staff is friendly and you gotta love the British accents. Definitely a fan.

    (4)
  • Yan H.

Yay, a traditional english gastropub. They do a really nice gravy, which the menu describes as house made demi-glace (nice!), and used nicely in the Poutine or the Bangers and mash. The Lion's giant pretzel is pretty big, so don't be a fool...consistently offer your buddies some of it, so you have space to drink a draught beer! Finally the shepherds pie is delicious. Thank you for serving a real pie that has braised lamb, instead of the ground beef that you see everywhere else.

  • Allen P.

Much better experience here on our second visit. The wings were just as good as before made even better by the friendly bar staff. I look forward to another visit!!

I bought a restaurant.com certificate for a different restaurant, and decided to exchange it for one to three lions. Their menu sounded interesting, and I found items that would appeal to everyone in the group. We went on a Wednesday nite about 830pm. The place was pretty crowded, it was trivia nite, we were unaware. No matter though we went ahead a found a nice spot in the back. It was very loud with the crowd, the music and the trivia, but I didn't mind, it was actually kind of fun, listening to all the people playing trivia, and trying to guess answers. We did not play(came too late :( ). Three lions has a nice beer selection, if you like beer(I do not). That's not what I was there for though. We came to try some of their eats. Now onto the food. App: the lions giant pretzel. Giant, why yes it was. The size of a small pizza. It was yeasty, with a nice crusty exterior and a warm soft interior. Came with three dips, mustard, cheddar cheese and nacho cheese. Tasty! My meal: sweet onion and Gorgonzola burger- the Gorgonzola, sorry just not my thing. A nice sized burger patty with bacon and a sweet onion marmalade and lettuce and tomato, again - tomato, don't do those either. Oh it also comes with a garlic chili aioli, which I ordered on the side. It was tasty, I thought better on the chips (A.K.A the fries) than the burger. All in all though a tasty treat I would definitely order again. My guy's meal: the English fish and chips. Three big pieces of oceanic cod, chips and tartar sauce served English style in a basket with mock newspaper. ( it's against code to serve with real news paper, the whole sanitary and ink poisoning thing) he said it was very good. The fish was lightly beer battered and tasted fresh. Not greasy or too heavy. This is his new spot for fish fry, and you don't have to wait till Friday. My daughter's meal: the balizean veggie burger. It don't remember everything that was in it, but it was a true veg burger not one of those textured vegetable protein things, you could see the beans and some peppers. It had lettuce, tomato and two sauces, one aioli and a habanero chili sauce, which of course she got extra on the side. She really enjoyed it and said she would get again. Now I had to save room for dessert, I saw creme brûlée on the menu..yummy. It was awesome! This weeks special flavor cherry. Oh ya my fav. The top was perfectly breakable sweet and brûlée-d to perfection. The creme was slightly warm and had a hint of cherry, some kind of cherry liqueur I presume, light and subtle, but you knew it was cherry. It was silky and smooth. Tres parfait if I don't say so myself. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, when my burger came out initially it was wrong...they put cheese and tomato on it. However our server was apologetic and was quick to remedy the problem. Service is a bit on the slow side, but I'm ok with that, I'm really starting to like these places that allow you to enjoy each course before they shove the next one at you. Also parking was kind of a pain, but that's not within their control, so I can't count that against them. I will be back, I understand they have $3 burger nights on Tuesday, or maybe we'll come back for trivia on Wednesday. Oh ya and $.60 wings on Thursday.

  • Jordan J.

It's a great pub. I go there every Friday a bit early to try and beat the crowd. The fish and chips are great (both English and Wisconsin). Also, as most bars do, it has wings with a BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and a House sauce, which to me is the best. I highly recommend this pub. If you want it to be a bit more quiet maybe try going on a Monday or Tuesday, but I usually like finishing off my week at the Lions. It's a great pub and one of the best I've eaten at (I've eaten at many).

My husband found this place on the internet. We decided to go and check it out. It was easy to find the exterior is neat. Inside is beautiful. The tin ceiling is amazing as well as the dark wood and the signs on the walls. Plenty of tvs to watch the games. Lots of beer to choose from. We had a scotched egg as our appetizer. It was to die for! I had the bangers and mash and my husband had the shepherds pie trio. Huge portions. The food was so flavorful and authentic. For dessert we had this bread pudding. It was quite possibly the best thing I've eaten in months!!! I will go back for sure. Wonderful place!!!

Visited here on July 2nd with our Milwaukee adult kids. Our son is an avid Liverpool Football fan and this is his hangout. In short, we love this place. Great vibe, really good atmosphere. The food, service and beer were all wonderful (shout out to Brownie, our server who recommended the awesome salmon salad)! You can bet we'll be back when we visit MKE again.

Stopped in because of free glass of wine checkin and reviews. We are from Chicago area and headed to sons bball game. Loves this place! Great weekday drink specials. Scotch eggs were awesome (request some more sauce!). Spinach artichoke dip was very yummy. Bangers and mash were amazzzzzzzzing. Sooo tender and gravy was perfect combo of savory and a touch sweet. Desserts sounded great but were in a hurry to get to game. Next time. :)

It is about time i write this review, as i have several check-ins here. This is a nice little pub with a beautiful bar. They have a nice beer selection and there is a check-in offer too! I really enjoy the service, the staff is always very nice and welcoming. I visited several times before eating the food. I have to say, i try and eat very healthy and don't eat deep fried food. Slim pickings on the menu! I ordered the marinated chicken breast, and was pleased. It is so easy to overcook a chicken breast, resulting in a dry and boring sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised. The other food looked OK, i would love for them to find a few more healthier options. The decor is a bit odd, and feels a bit forced. I don't get the "pub" feel from the wall hangings. However, everytime i'm there i enjoy my stay, I am pleased with my drinks, and impressed with the service. Additionally, the other customers are often nice and chatty, it has a very community type feel. For that, i give it 4 stars.

I absolutely love British beer & food. A good english bitter or ale is probably my favorite beer... and that brown gravy, yum. Very bummed that this is the only fairly legit English pub in town (because I like on the south side, so it's a big drive) but I'm glad it exists. Either way, the employees are friendly, the food is pretty close to the delicious pub grub in London, the bar is fairly complete. And it's a super cozy place. Only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is no London Pride on tap.

I like the feel...Very friendly, good service. Fun crowd, nice beer list. Fish fry and poutine were just okay. Great neighborhood pub with okay food. Worth another try in my book...

My favorite place to be. Brilliantly low key pub, comfortable, friendly staff, good pub grub, nice selection of drinks. If you don't have regular swill they suggest something for you. Love the atmosphere here and this place is my neighborhood pub! You can catch Premiership matches at Three Lions, even if they are showing early they'll open up and serve breakfast for your viewing pleasure. Quiz night is always hilarious, and they book bags of live entertainment. If you like going to a place where staff remembers your drink order and you can relax then come on over!!

This seems like a good place to watch some soccer. If you like beer battered fish, this is a good place to try. The server's are all very nice, and they all seem to have British accents (or at least some sort of accents). It is a nice bar in a cool Shorewood location. The prices seem a bit high, but considering that there is nothing else like it in town, it seems worth it. I want to go back and try out some other menu items.

A nice "English Pub" in the heart of Shorewood's revitalized and booming North Oakland neighborhood. Good selection of imports on tap, as well as in can/bottle. The menu was somewhat nicer than "bar food", and the food was quite good all around. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely a destination for the locals, and worth a try for anyone visiting the area.

Went in last Friday after enjoying some Dunkel over in Estabrook park. I don't recall much about the food, it was fine I guess. But what I do recall vividly is asking the guv'nor for some HP sauce for my fish and chips. He went back into the kitchen and made his own...and it was just as good (if not better) than the original brown sauce. Thanks. I'll be back.

Pretzel bigger than my head! YUM! Love this place and the boys who own it :) A great pub to hang out and socialize, get wild and crazy, go on a date, take your baby, pretty much a great place to go for any mood you're in!

After the BritInn burned down, we were bummed - no more local Brit Pub. But then 3 Lions opened, and viola - our needs for a local Brit pub were met. The back story, in case you're interested: the guys that opened this pub actually came over from England to play soccer, and worked at the BritInn at the time of the fire - so they knew exactly what the neighborhood lost when the BritInn burned down. We've been here several times now, and it's always a solid experience. The staff is friendly, the service prompt, and the atmosphere authentic. It doesn't hurt that there's always a soccer match on either! Excellent selection of beers and cider on draught, and a large bottle selection as well. Must try dishes include the poutin, the curry, and the cheese curds. The pretzel is a good group food too. Sandwiches are a solid choice as well. We only tried the fish n chips once - but we were underwhelmed. They were slammed that night (it was the last Friday in Lent), so we will try it again. Overall, a great British pub experience!

Loud. Good craic! Good eats. Tomato soup was very good. And both the sheppards and cottage pies are keepers; turkey pie, not so much. Was a bit hard to find with very understated signage, but a pub worth finding.

I adore the Three Lions Pub! Wonderful food, drinks & service! I own a shop right down the block and there's days where I'll treat myself to some food to-go to make it through a long day or stop over there after work with a friend to relax & soak in the lovely atmosphere. Feel like taking a trip but don't have the money to go anywhere? Three Lions Pub with it's authentic British feel is like stepping out of Milwaukee for an hour or so. I've been there on crowded & quiet nights and I feel like the staff is always attentive without overwhelming you and I've never been disappointed with the food. I highly suggest paying this pub a visit!

I went here for the first time this past Monday and I am very glad I went! The food was great and service may have been even better! I wish I could remember our waitress's name to give her credit - she set the standard for good waitressing. The food was awesome and their happy hour special was even better! I had the fish sandwich and I'm pretty picky when it comes to fish. It was great! Nice and flaky and the breading was very tasty. The only thing I would have done differently would be the bun - it was meh. Great place, we'll definitely be back!

Order the giant pretzel and ask for just rarebit dipping sauce (skip the plain cheese and mustard). That's all you need to know. Everything below is just filler for this review. A warm Friday and three of us stop in. There's a short wait but nothing serious. Our brief stop at the bar resulted in quick service for a round of tall Jameson Sours. We're seated and then we spot the giant pretzels being eaten by other patrons. Of course we order one! How could you not? The pretzel is brought out hot. It's flavorful, soft, moist and giant. Everything I look for in a pretzel. Three dipping sauces are provided: nacho cheese, mustard and welsh rarebit (a cheese based sauced in which no rabbits are harmed during production). The nacho cheese is exactly what you're imagining, the mustard is a wonderful stone ground affair but, the rarebit is fabulous. I don't know that they'll do it but, ask to substitute at least the nacho cheese for a second cup of rarebit. For the main course I opted for lamb. It was good, not great but enjoyable and not disappointing. Frankly, my memory still goes back to the pretzel. Drinks are cheap and the service is good. Beer selection is decent but could be better. One of our party suggested that it was missing a beer engine and I agree. There was a mix of clientele that included families. Sound level was a little on the loud side but not intolerable.

As a party of 4 we shared an order of the giant pretzel that had to be 2 inches in diameter the entire way around the giant soft pretzel. But then one got the fish and chips and the three others of us each got a variety of a "pie" everything was just amazing! We will defiantly make it back, and defiantly will be getting some of this again!

Friends and I went to Three Lions Pub last night for a few drinks. I love: the location parking is easy enough the accents and wonderful, cheery attitudes of the staff the beer selection the drinks were good and strong (but not too strong) the music was not blaring, you could actually have a conversation outdoor seating the decor and ambience of the bar was all very cool and definitely BRITISH! I didn't love: my bar tab (it wasn't terrible, just a little bit more than I'd normally spend on 2 drinks, I think it was $13.50 for a Stella and single vodka tonic...and that included a 2.50 tip) I would recommend trying this place out, I will be back for dinner sometime soon!

What a cool place. We went for drinks on Saturday night, and to be honest I was not expecting much. But I was more than pleasantly surprised. Very warm feeling place, clean, and packed. Plus, they had a band for the night who was very entertaining. Will be back soon for drinks and food (Might be another star too).

The site of my first dinner as a Wisconsinite, so I'm sentimental. Very good fish & chips and burgers and a reasonable beer selection. Service is in the sweet spot of relaxed but attentive.

Big fail tonight. Friday fish fry and seated right away... should have been a sign. Waited 10 minutes to order drinks. Took another 5 minutes to find out the tap on the draft beer wasn't working. Waited 5 more to order something else. Then another 5 to actually get it. Then more time waiting to order. Ah, but we're just getting started... The waitress did come back to apologize for our food taking so long. Right kind of her considering everyone around us was getting their food. Then she came back and offered us our next round for free. Never offered a snack though. After an hour we stood up, told them we were leaving, tossed too much cash on the table and left. It's unfortunate, but it makes me never want to go back. Maybe stop for quick drink and move on. Hope they pull it together.

Kick ass staff, outrageously awesome accents, and decent specials Working a building down, I often visit for a nice cold one, or just their TV's while I have a lull on Sundays to watch the Packer game. Not only do they pass around jello shots (which I unfortunately have to decline), they whip out some free Half Time food the cook has come up with. Not only does it make you feel like your having your own Packer party at home, WHO can complain about being SERVED, relaxing, and homemade food YOU didnt have to make! Their regular menu food is pretty good too for bar food, Fish Fry and all Check it out! Have a beer, talk to their friendly staff, and don't be afraid to ask "HUH?" if you didn't understand ;)

Understanding that this is a British pub, NOT in Britain...... Being perhaps the most genuine British Pub in metro Milwaukee; and with a good portion of the staff hailing from across the sea(s), they can draw some heavy British crowds. And, it can wind up feeling unintentionally-polarizing and segregated. Your first visit may leave you feeling lonely. You'll spend the entirety of your visit checking the mirror, your shoes, under the arms, etc. It's not YOUR fault. You're beautiful. And you WILL be recognized. Just maybe not on your first visit. Just be nice, enjoy your compadres/food/drink, and thank the staff. Exchange names. Shake hands. I'm glad I didn't take the knee-jerk "f*ck off" approach. Because the guys behind the bar rock. They appreciate your appreciation of what they have to offer. Which is perhaps the most authentic pint of Guinness in town. And two of the most decadent piles of starchy (yummy) messes, I've had the pleasure of enjoying: * Chicken curry over chips * Poutine (with chicken) Wash either of those down with a couple pints of Guinness, and tell me you're NOT coming back! (Liar.)

A couple interesting facts: A. The bar stools are too short for the bar height. B: The soft pretzel is so big it comes in a large pizza box. C: There are plently of screens to watch games on. I'll check it out again in the future.

Its good pub fare. I keep going back, so they must be doing something right. The burgers are above average and the specialty dishes e.g., curry, are closer to the good/great end of the spectrum.

My years of living in Brooklyn exposed me to a pretty great British eatery called The Chip Shop. I found out that Milwaukee has a British place that serves fish & chips just up Oakland from my apartment and I was psyched to try it out. How could they possibly mess up deep-fried food? I found out. Three Lions is a horrible place in every regard. Firstly, the food is terrible. The fish is sub-par, and Milwaukee has a ton of experience deep-frying fish. That's really what a British fish & chips pub ought to excel at, no? The chips here are just regular, dry American french fries (they ought to be blanched before frying, like the English do). The service is pathetic; we got ignored by both of the girls staffing the bar. They check their cellphones while patrons are waiting on drinks. The English ambiance at Three Lions is minimal at best. And the Shorewood trolls who inhabit the place are really not the best clientele. I later went to check out The Dog's Bollocks, and sadly it seems every bit as bad as Three Lions. I hold out hope for John Hawks Pub.

When I get off my ass and write reviews on Yelp it's because the spot has an intangible that rises above the basics of what brought me in the door to begin with. THREE LIONS PUB has heart. That's the bottom line. Its a great bar for any part of your night - knock around British fun, belly up to the bar, get a shot and a beer and see whats up. Plenty of day time action too with full soccer schedules and all sports on giant flat screens. The bartender said they are opening a kitchen soon with classic Brit Pub/American Bar food and that will seal the deal for Three Lions as the star of the North Shore. ride up Oakland Ave and have a pint!

Stopped by for the first time (since I happened to be at Alterra across the street) and was mildly impressed, though not entirely. The food was pretty yummy. My girlfriend and I had some good pub staples: chicken curry over chips and Welsh rarebits. Both were good and the curry was enough to take home. The service, on the other hand, was less than stellar. We slipped in at the last minute -- which I am not generally a fan of doing -- but I asked the waitress to ask the kitchen staff to make sure it was ok we ordered food. We got the go-ahead, which I appreciated. However, the waitress simply ignored us after taking our order: did not come to check on us, did not ask about our drinks or food, and did not get our check. She completely forgot about us because (and this irked me) she handed the bill over to the bar tender without telling us, and the bar tender then did not even come over. Needless to say, the waitress got her minimum tip. Perhaps I will be better able to review them when I go earlier in the day. Until then, it will remain 2 stars.

I had the tri-pie sampler which included a shepherds pie, cottage pie and the cheese and onion pie. I came down with a major case of Anglophilia after eating this outstanding platter. Like, holy shit this food is good. The staff all had sexy British accents and my server resembled Prince Harry. Get the cheese and onion pie, it was the best thing I've eaten in weeks. It's like a cheese soufflé atop a bed of creamy mashed potatoes with a yummy gravy and a pastry (?) top. One thing though, I tried to redeem my yelp reward of a free glass of wine for checking in, and none of the staff knew about this promotion. They were very nice and handled it well, just be warned if you try to claim your check in gift you might have some trouble.

Three Lions is really great pub! The Chicken Curry & Chips are fantastic, I've been back 3 time's just for that delicious dish. I guess part of the charm of this place is that it is actually run by some transplanted hooligans from the UK &Soccer is always on. Fun friendly and accommodating for family's. This place works for eating and drinking and its in my neighborhood.

I venture to Three Lions Pub about once a week, and the big draw for me is the Big Pretzel!!! It is so yummy and it pairs perfectly with a nice cold beer! This is the perfect way to end a long week, or to kick off the start of a long week. I will say, I wish their happy hour was better, a dollar off taps really isn't that awesome when the taps themselves are sometimes 6 or 5 bucks to begin with. But alas, it's a local business in the heart of Shorewood, so it is what it is. We really enjoy sitting outside, in front of the pub, relaxing and people watching. The staff are always friendly and we really haven't had a bad experience there, and we've been here a lot. We will be back again when my craving for the Big Pretzel Beckons!

Food was great, I have been to many pubs in London and while there are differences, the menu is pretty similar. Curry and chips is what I had and it was very good. My friend had the English fish and chips and said it was great. Service was prompt and very friendly. Great selection of beers and really feels like an English pub.

Fun atmosphere to go grab a beer & watch a game! They put food out for Packer games (chili, chips & salsa, veggie tray, etc) & the food off the menu is pretty tasty too, although a little high priced if you ask me, which is why I knocked it down a star! BUT to end on a positive note; the fries are a-ma-zing!

I've been to my fair share if "English pubs" and this one is giving it a good shot. Met the owners once and they were super nice. I'm just not part of the popped collar crowd and I feel like I've been set afloat on the great douche sea when I'm here.

  • Phil M.

Great food, good beer selection. I had the English fish and chips and my wife had a burger both of which were very good. Nice to see some real English options on the menu too! If you liked the Brit Inn or The Dogs Bollocks you'll like this place.

  • Dave J.

The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. The food is excellent, especially the enormous pretzel, which is consistently soft and chewy, unlike others that get hard and crusty over time. The beer is a little overpriced compared with other local options, the food likewise. The restrooms aren't nearly large enough to accommodate the bar when it's operating anywhere near half capacity or higher.

    (3)
  • David J.

Great food. I had the curry chicken and chips and my buddy had the steak sandwich. Both were very tasty. The beer selection was decent as well. The staff is really attentive. My only complaint is the atmosphere. It does not have a good pub feel. It looks like the bastard child of a Buffalo Wild Wings and British Pub.

The kitchen stops serving food at 10:00 on Saturdays, so we ran over there around 9:30 and were greeted as if we weren't jerks for coming so close to close. The servers are genuine Irishmen/women and their accents make you feel like you're there too. The beer selection is very good, but the real reason to go back is the food. We started with (obviously) the pretzel as big as a pizza. The homemade mornay sauce was to die for. And even heated up the next morning, it was awesome. Then We got the irish nachos, a great twist on traditional nachos, because they're served on homemade kettle chips. For entrees we got the Reuben, (phenomenal), the lamb (very good, but a little skimpy on entree size for the price), and a shepherds pie/gardners pie (both great, the difference being one had beef/lamb and the other was all veggie.) The service was good and the location is spot on. I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

This pub has been open since 2011 but my first visit was just last Tuesday night. It was $3.00 burger night and they were great. Our server was quick, pleasant and polite. Cannot wait to go back and try some of their British pub fare and many different beers.

we had the massive burger/sandwich and wings here. hubby loved the wings, i enjoyed the wheat beer from big bay, and the massive was big enuff to share. overall a pleasant experience sitting outside with friendly, albeit little slow, server. i'd come back. lovely evening!

The food here is great. I got chicken tenders, which I felt funny ordering at a British pub, but they were delicious and served on a pile of amazing potatoes and creamy corn scattered around. This is perfect comfort food and I can't wait to go there in the fall.

Was charged for a round of drinks that I didn't order, the round was purchased for me by another patron and the server was aware of that. They refused to remove it. I also was charged twice for the dinner. Brought this to the managers attention the next day and was dismissed. Went into the restaurant 2 nights later and also was dismissed. Took me 2 weeks plus to finally convience them I was due a refund. Spent way too much time dealing with it a barely got an apology. Feel bad because the food was good and i live down the street. Will not return.

Went for the fish and chips...yum! I had the "English" because I really wanted to try the mushy peas, but also really wanted the "Wisconsin" fish. I explained my conundrum and they were more then happy to switch it out.

Decided to go here last Thursday for the Brewer's game and trivia after putting it off for a bit. I was a big fan of the Brittinn up the street from here and is owned by the former staff of there. I ordered the curry chicken and chips and thought it was pretty good although the chicken could be higher quality. The service was attentive and friendly even on a busy trivia night (Thursday). I like the set up better than the old Brittinn and will definetly be back here.

Hubby and I went here very early in the morning to watch a Premier League match. We are big EPL fans, and not having cable, bars that make a point of opening for the matches are always going to be popular with us. Not surprisingly, the bar was all but empty when we got there at 7:30 am, there was only one or two other groups there. Seeing as it was so early, that didn't bother us, we were there to watch the match, not so much to socialize. It did get busier as the morning went on. Having lived for a brief time in England, I appreciated and was impressed that the bartender was British and that some of the customers were actually English. It was a great stamp of approval and made me nostalgic for England. The service was good, we only ordered drinks. Hubby's bloody mary was ok- maybe a bit too spicy, but it came with a lot of condiments, which made up for the spiciness. The only disappointment was that they did not have Strongbow, which they advertise as having on tap on their website. I got Magners cider instead- which is the not as good Irish alternative to Strongbow, but it was far too early in the day to care. They do have a small breakfast menu, but we decided not to order as we were not hungry, but I do hope to try out the full english breakfast someday. Overall, it meet our expectations and we will definitely be back for more football.

Visited last Saturday for the US-Mexico Gold Cup finale. Could barely hear the game although it was on every TV. This was my 2nd visit, unfortunately don't recall much about my first visit. :-s Bumpin' place; located next to a micro-brewer on the main drag in Shorewood. I think this place is still deciding what it wants to be. British Beefeater greets you at the front door, soccer scarves on wall, a few bartenders have British/Irish accents. Although Three Lions ties in with England's soccer logo, bar was in a hurry to turn on music the minute the game was over, which made it simply another busy/loud Water St.-type bar. (Carleton Pub, where art thou?) Will check it out again for Premier League in the fall to determine it's priorities. Nomad is still the #1 soccer bar in MKE. Also, needs a Milwaukee Bavarian scarf in the bar too!

I am so delighted with this new business. They have been a great addition to the neighborhood. I had a hamburger my first time there and thought it was quite good. Service was a little slow and the burger was a little too greasy, but overall the meat was good and the fries on the side were fine as well. They have a great beer selection, so I guess I'd advocate this place more as a bar than a restaurant. That said, this is not a genuine british pub, but it's still a fun place to hang out and drink.

    (4)
  • Mike H.

Excellent fish fry and good drink selection in a festive atmosphere. Service appears to be a work in progress, however, and I hope it improves because Three Lions is a much-needed, fun establishment for this area. My friends and I waited waay too long to get served and servers did not seem happy to be there. I still recommend checking Three Lions but maybe not during peak hours for now.

If I'm in Shorewood and want to grab some quick bar food, this is my first choice. It has a friendly and laid back atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and have always given me recommendations for new drinks that are delicious. The bar food is also great. I love having a tray of chips with a side of their house curry and a pint of Old Speckled Hen. Their scotch eggs are pretty great, they make me wish more bars had them. Give them a chance, you'll be glad you did.

Went here for Harry Potter trivia. It was my first time going there, and I can say that it won't be my last. Despite it being packed to the gills, our waiter who was working double time, was still wonderful, and check on us every 20 minutes or so. I had a basket of chips with malt vinegar, and a drink. Came to about $12 in total. The chips were nice and hot, and wonderful! The drink was not overly strong, which I didn't mind as I was driving. Wonderful atmosphere! A great place to hang out with friends!

Great food. The Poutine is off the fucking chain. The servers all have European accents and that's a cool touch. Service is great (at least if you sit at the bar, I wouldn't know about table service...). They are a huge sports bar, particularly soccer, as they should be, and I enjoyed having the world cup playing when we visited. Will be back again.

This place has earned every star. Even after a single experience I can't recommend it highly enough, and I can't wait to go back. I hopped in here with my ladyfriend who has been hugely enthusiastic about Three Lions. She's something of a xenophile and would talk up this place in Shorewood that was "British person approved" in her words. Last night I finally got the chance to check it out. The staff is extremely friendly. Actually, every single person that we interacted with was truly genuine and ready to accommodate. The food: outstanding. It's not terribly fancy stuff: burgers, fish and chips, savory British pies, but it's executed so well. I had the fish and chips--it's reminiscent of traditional Wisconsin Friday fish fry of course, so I knew what to expect and I got it. The fries are thick cut and hearty. Even the mushy pea side had a really fresh flavor. I also sampled a bit of my partner's cottage pie, it was similarly excellent. The atmosphere is perfect. They've not made half-measures in creating the illusion of an English pub, but the place isn't full of kitsch either. They've struck that middle ground. I also want to point out that the noise level is also great; the music is at a level where you can hear it and make out the songs you recognize but you're not shouting over it to speak, and neither is anyone else. It's a weird thing to mention, but it's one of those odd things I noticed. Also, there's a treasure hidden at at least one of the tables. I'm not going to say any more on that. I've been a little wishy-washy about some of my ratings in the past, but on this one I feel very solid: five stars all the way.

Liked it so much I went back! This time I tried the Cornish Pasty and Mash. WOW! Even better than the Shepherds Pie! The Patsy was so light and fluffy. First off, ask for Kayleigh to be your server. I think that's how she spells her name--at the very least it's the phonetic spelling... But I have had two other servers there and neither can compare to her. Call ahead to make sure she's working. A few things of note: 1. Best scotch eggs I have ever had, even better than the Duke of Devon in Sheboygan. They're sublime and hearty simultaneously. Whatever is in the aoli pairs perfectly. 2. Their lamb Shepherd's pie is addictive. It's simply amazing, and the buttery, slightly crispy edge wisps of potatoes atop the sweet and savory lamb and gravy will keep you coming back. 3. The sticky toffee dessert is a must. Always leave room for it, even if to share it with a few of your mates. It's bloody excellent! 4. You'll start speakin' the Queen's English if you hang around 'ere. Overall, the place is fantastic. There's always a free drink via YELP it seems. It used to be a free shot and now it's a free glass of house wine. The cab is nice. I've been pleased with all that I have eaten here except for one item, the chicken curry. It was a bit bland and uninspired. And they took the full English breakfast off the full menu, which is disappointing. I would choose it often again if it was served all day. That said, it's worth it to come in on a weekend to have a "trad" on a Saturday or Sunday morning. It's fabulous. And the atmosphere is quite good as well. I chose to go here on my birthday this year, which is quite high praise for an establishment, since we YELP Elites get around. But Kayleigh took care of us in a way which made it special. CHEERS to Three Lions!

Three Lions Pub is and will be my place to go to watch soccer. I have friends that rave about Nomad but, at least to me, this place trumps Nomad. I've been coming here for the past 2-3 years and I've watched them grow into the establishment that it is today. Which obviously includes adding a breakfast menu and renovating the interior. It's a lot more spacious. Parking can be a pain but it can't be worse that Brady Street parking. So, I'm not going to hold that against them. The price for their food is appropriate and the food isn't bad for a bar. The patrons are an even mix of first timers and regulars. Often there are kids here Saturday morning cheering on their favorite team with their family. Waiters and bartenders are nice and their English accent does give it an English pub feel (as it should). All in all, it's a great pub to relax and watch soccer and engage in a friendly conversation with a total stranger about soccer. And if you don't know anything about soccer, well.... you could start learning here! :)

Wings, 3 long islands, 4 beers, 2 shots = $65.00!?! Not a good place for the average college student to get some drinks. Wings were below average, alcohol was good, bartender was helpful, just way too pricey for my pocket.

This review is based solely on the atmosphere and drinks. I didn't try the food, which have heard is good. I accidentally stumbled on this place on a Friday afternoon on my way somewhere else, and decided to have a beer. Their beer selection was really small and unimpressive. Nothing exciting, maybe 1 or 2 good options in my opinion. What I really didn't like was the atmosphere. It was super dark, and felt really old and sort of "basement-ish". It also smelled like there was a giant college party the night before and they cleaned it up the spilled beer with vinegar. Not sure what that was about, but it was pretty gross. On a more positive note, the bartender was super friendly! I wouldn't totally refuse trying their food some day if someone I was with wanted to go, but I definitively wouldn't choose it.

A little bit of Britan in the North Shore. This is my kind of place on a Saturday night: live music, crowded, loud, and good times had by all. I like the layout, the decor, and the furnishings. It feels warm, especially on a cold night. Although I didn't eat on my visit, I've heard from several other Yelpers that the Wiso Fish and Chips is a must have. I wonder if they serve it wrapped up in this morning's newspaper? Probably not. Although it would be authentic Brit "chip shop" protocol, I'm assuming it's against certain health codes in this country. Great beer list, great barkeeps. If I spent more time in this neighborhood, I could see myself getting pissed here on a regular basis. Certainly a welcomed addition to a greatly enhanced Oakland Avenue, and one of the reasons that Shorewood is no longer "Borewood".

I've got a very mixed opinion of 3 Lions Pub... When I first walked in, I felt very at comfortable with the atmosphere. Lots of dark wood, and a nice long bar, with good soft lighting. I was greeted soon after entering, and the stools were surprisingly comfortable. Our bartender, Jess, was friendly and talkative. She was great, and more than willing to play a round of bar dice with us (part of my standard bar test... at least that's my excuse), however the tap system seemed very out of order. My whiskey and coke was flat and a bit weak, and watching the bartenders attempt to pour beers, most of the taps were pouring out nothing but head. Looked like they used five beers worth to finally fill one glass. Jess left while we were still there, and the bartender who took over was pleasant enough, but was not very attentive. We waited with empty glasses for a rather long amount of time, especially considering the bar was not terribly lively, 15 people inside at most, with maybe 7-8 sitting at the bar. I was there with a friend, and they had put everything on my tab, and when I asked to split the bill, the bartender nodded, went to close it out, and came back with everything charged to my card. I'm not sure if he didn't hear me, since the bar was not very loud at all, but this definitely rubbed me the wrong way. He ran off to the other side of the bar right after setting the credit slip down, before I could get a word out, and never came back to our side. Being there on a Thursday, there was karaoke, and more surprisingly, patrons at the 3 Lions CAN SING. By far, the best part of the night was watching two older men singing Sinatra, Beach Boys, and Johnny Cash, and absolutely nailing it. I wouldn't come back on my own, but if I had a group of friends that really wanted to go there, I'd give it one more shot if I had

I'm a fan! Started off with a big-ass-pretzel which included three dips. That's a nice amount of dips. Not a bad start, Three Lions you sly dog. Then it was wing time. Not the best wings I've ever had, but better than most. I tried the hot - it was typical buffalo sauce to me... and it wasn't very hot. I will probably try another sauce next time - they have several. I also sampled some of the pasty that my best gal was attempting to finish. It was pretty good and made me want to try their Shepherd's pie due to the similar ingredients. Dessert? STICKY. TOFFEE. PUDDING. Get it - it's the right thing to do.

I don't love this place, but I do like it. I think I like it most when it's not busy, and I'm not sure when that is. Every time I have been there, it is hoppin'. But it has a great authentic pub vibe, complete with wait staff who have Scottish and/or Irish and/or British accents. The menu has a nice array of options and the beers are aplenty. Once the place gets busy, though....watch out. It's hard to even maneuver your way to the bathroom or out the door. Other than that, solid choice.

I liked Three Lions well enough - it seems like a nice place to grab a drink, watch a game or grab some bar food. It was fairly crowded when we stopped and they had a band playing so it was pretty loud in the bar. They've got a nice beer selection with some expected (Guinness & Smithwicks) and some unusual choices (Krombacher and something called Old Speckled Hen). Prices were a little higher than I would have expected, but I guess it is Shorewood. I was surprised to see how large of a food menu they had - I could definitely see stopping in to check out some of the snacks.

This was our first time there. We had sampled their food at Zoo ala Carte and wanted to try it, and they did not disappoint. Quite a few choices on the menu, and we all had a hard time deciding what we wanted. They also have a great beer selection! We got there around 5:30pm on Saturday and did not have to wait for a table. I had called ahead to see how busy they were so we knew we could walk in. We started with the scotch eggs which we enjoyed. For dinner we had one of the pies, I had the Cornish pastry, my kids had a burger and the chicken strips. Everything was good. For dessert we had two orders of the sticky toffee pudding to share, and it was wonderful. I highly recommend it. The service was excellent. My only complaint would be on the temperatures. My Cornish pastry was hot, but the potatoes underneath it were warm at best. And the temperatures on the pudding were different. One was very hot and one was lukewarm. Other than those two things I have no complaints, and want to go back to try something different.

This is my go-to bar. The major plus is the huge bar. There is always seating even on really busy nights. Often they have live music. The bartenders are friendly. Most have British accents. They always seem to offer free shots when we are about to leave.
