As far as camping at a campground goes, you can't do better than Pine Grove Campground! There is something for everyone here. We brought our two children who were entertained the entire trip. If you have children, there is literally something for ALL of their ages. For teens, there's a game room, shuffleboard, a swing/trampoline/launching blob and a raft in the lake; for children old enough to adventure away from the camp site, there are bikes that are more like large peddle cars, the pool with balls and a basketball hoop, a water slide, a bounce house, mini golf, a bike ramp for regular bicycles, a large playground and games made up each weekend, like scavenger hunts. For the toddler age, the water slide and pool is a great way to spend time away from the camp site with the little guys. The adults are included in the fun too!!! Saturdays has a Tiki bar that have beverages of the adult variety along with sensational grilling food. There were even grilled corn dogs! Different weekends have different events which can include a band or karaoke at the pavilion. The weekend we went had "Christmas in July" with people decorating their sites with lights and all sorts of Christmas lawn decor. There were wagon rides at night. There are golf carts and paddle boards to rent along with games like beach volleyball, badminton and ladder golf. There's so many options for adults with or without children. Between the things to do and the GREAT upkeep of all of grounds and facilities, this is the place to camp!

Needed a quick sub. Received that from a mgr with a warm smile and even better friendly attitude. As a motor coach driver, I see a lot of restaurants, including Subway restaurants. This was one of the best I have visited.

I've been there quite a few times. The Philly steak sandwich is to die for. The pizza is good and fish fries are good. Big portions and I usually end up taking home a doggie box. Just as good the next day. They are very busy especially on the week ends so go early or make reservations. In good weather they also have outdoor seating which I love. I did find though if you go there with someone the waitress knows the service is faster and better. But either way the food is good.
The BEST pizza. I always stop here when I come out from NY to visit family in Central Wisco. The BEST.
Food is definitely worth the wait. If you have a big group make sure to call ahead and make a reservation. The stuffed pizza is the best and the extra wait for it is worth it also. My wife loves the manicotti. The servings are good sized and you will be bringing some home

Classic’s Restaurant & Lounge

I love Classics hand muddled old fashions. Head out to Classics for something just a little bit different and delicious. They have an incredible chef who makes the best sorbet and desserts. If you can make it out for a wine pairing at the end of the month, it will be an unforgettable night for your taste buds. Winners: salmon and couscous. Walleye specials. Make sure you finish with flourless chocolate cake when available. I hate to give away this secret gem, but it's too wonderful not to share.
So, we are not entirely new to the Shawano area, however, we had not eaten at Classics before this weekend. Heard it could get busy, so we went early, near 6ish, for dinner on a Saturday night. and yep, we were definitely there early, though the crowd arrived after we did. Bar area is neat, lots to look at and the bar staff is very nice, accommodating, helpful overall. Our waitress super sweet, bubbly, nice attitude. Too bad it went down hill from there. i ordered the Rib Eye and my husband the Prime Rib. Meal starts with soup, which was very good. Salad, typical, so nothing to terrible there. However, our dinners, OMG Yukkyyyy My Ribeye, ordered medium rare, was at the very least medium to medium well. And lack flavor, honestly, brought the rest home to my dogs. And hubby's prime rib, lets just say he ate it with ketchup! 'cuz the flavor was so bad! Worst he has ever had, anywhere! And for what we paid for our meal. An absolute shame! Won't be going back, except maybe to listen to music, but most certainly not to eat.
Classic's ahi tuna is so wonderful my mouth is watery just seeing the photo. I love everything about this place - food, atmosphere, live music, AWESOME owners and bartenders.

Jeff & Tammy the owners are very kind and friendly people. They take pride in the staff they hire. I've never had less than stellar service from all. Food is very good, the Broasted Chix dinner on Sundays is unbeatable (not during football season though, they do something different during NFL) We always come by boat in season, and sit outside for dining! Fish fridays .....super...
Nice atmosphere, cozy but a little dark inside. They have a nice deck outside you can eat or drink at. I like to watch some of them on New Years day take a dip off the boat dock. Burrrrr cold! The hamburgers are really good and so are their fish fries. I like going at Lent time because it the only place in Shawano I can find that serves smelt. Very large portion of smelt and they are so good.
The food was very good. One thing I will say is that it is not a restaurant it is a bar...with really good bar food :). Service was good.

Bubba’s BBQ

I ate at Bubba's a few days after they opened. We sat at the bar and were acknowledged right away, but it took several minutes for the bartender to return and get our orders. I was really looking forward to trying the corn bread, but the guy next to me had ordered it, and when he asked for butter he was told they didn't have any. You can't eat cornbread with out butter!! I had the brisket, mac n' cheese and creamed corn. I liked the method of serving the food on butcher paper on a tray, and had no problems with using paper towels instead of napkins. The mac n' cheese was ok, but wasn't anything special. The brisket was tender and had a good flavor. My friend that was with me had the ribs and stated they weren't as tender as he had hoped for. The creamed corn was to die for!! I will go back just for the creamed corn. I was surprised because as we were getting ready to leave, they were telling another customer that they did not have butter for the cornbread. This confused me, butter is not a specialty item! An employee could have run to the store, or even gone to Rinehards to pick up butter for the cornbread, but it didn't seem like they were going to try and remedy it. I will try it again, and I'll try something other than the brisket. I don't think it will be on the top of my list for local restaurants, but I won't avoid it either.
I just stopped by Bubbas while passing through town on business. The sign caught my eye. Let me tell you, this place has GREAT food. I was thoroughly impressed with the flavor, portions, smells... the whole REAL DEAL BBQ experience. Met the owner and family, they couldn't have been nicer. I had the ribs and coleslaw. Just great smokey taste and tenderness. Im excited to come back, I hear good things about the brisket as well.
Absolutely mouth watering. From HOMEMADE sausage to brisket and chicken, along with borracho beans, just excellent! And bonus day Mark Murphy of Green Bay Packers here!

Hunan Chinese Restaurant

145 S Main St
Shawano, 54166
Reviews:
A pretty decent place in the bustling heart of Downtown Shawano. Clearly a family operation: our three servers all appeared to be school-age kids, and I'll bet Mom and/or Dad were working the kitchen. Pretty lightly patronized on a rainy Friday night. Our party of three opted for the Hunan Special Dinner. a good buy at $12.50 per person. Each dinner consisted of an assortment of five appetizers (excellent, light spring rolls; skewered beef; chicken in foil; fried shrimp; and crab Rangoon); individual choice of soup (won ton, hot and sour, and egg flower), and an entrée with a bowl of steamed rice on the side. We ordered: - Pork with garlic sauce; probably the most interesting of the three, in a somewhat sweet and moderately spicy sauce. (We did ask them to go easy on the spices, in deference to the 96-year-old member of our party.) - Shrimp with cashews. - Diced chicken with almonds, nicely textured but perhaps a bit too mild. Modest beer and wine menu; among the beers, they were out of Tsing Tao. The remainder were just American industrial lagers. Altogether a pretty good experience. If I were a resident of Shawano, instead of an occasional visitor, I'd undoubtedly be a regular customer.
This place deserves more attention. Dimple excellent Chinese food at very reasonable prices. The lunch specials are delicious and they are cheap cheap. Love the hot n sour soup too
First time visit to this restaurant - took the opportunity to stop before my grandson's HS football game on a rainy Friday evening... My daughter, two grown granddaughters and I shared the Hunan Special dinner - - after we had finished a wonderful cup of Wonton soup and the great assortment of appetizers, both granddaughters said that they felt like they had gotten their money's worth already - - funny, since Gramma was paying... We ordered the General Tso's chicken; the Almond chicken; beef with broccoli and sweet/sour pork...Generous plates of foot - - we took home a nice amount of leftovers which made a great snack when I got home after the game... Fortune cookies and bottomless glasses of soda completed our meal - - service was friendly, fast and flawless... The young man who greeted, seated and got our menus and drinks was delightful... The dining room was clean and well lit... A wonderful experience - - we will definitely go back - - even though it is 30+ miles from home...

This place IS fun. :) Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It's the perfect place to grab a draft beer with some friends or even by yourself. No one will make you feel like you're alone. We had the cheese nuggets. They were fried and delicious. My husband and I each had a burger and we were very satisfied! We opted for fries over chips, because I am only a chips person when salsa is around. They have nightly specials; they seemed very popular with the locals. I would describe this as more of a bar with food rather than a restaurant. Which I don't consider that a bad thing, just something to consider when deciding what kind of environment you are looking for. :)
Love this place. Hamburgers are awesome and big. I order the small burger but it's big to me so I end up taking some home. Fish fries are good. Friendly people, both the employees and customers.
It's a classic tavern with friendly and fun staff known for their burgers. Everyone I've talked to has enjoyed their burger here but I come here for a few beers usually. The food all looks top notch and prices and pours are great. I guess I'm a regular here when in town.
