Reviews:
When co-workers planned a dinner at Swayz, I was admittedly nervous. The Yelp reviews were not stellar and Mexican restaurants can vary widely in quality and cleanliness. I am pleased to say, this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee! The chips and salsa were delicious, but my favorite was the spicy steak enchiladas. This dish was so spicy, it made my nose run! Yum! Very flavorful. Our server was friendly and kept our water and Margaritas refilled. I will definitely return to Swayz!
Great little spot. Good people, hot, fresh chips, delicious salsa and a spicy chicken cabbage salad (just try it) that's just about perfect! Oh and the margs are tasty. Finish with an apple pie shot!
Easily the best Mexican food in Cudahy! The restaurant is small, but cozy and the service is spot on! They have daily food specials, along with certain drink specials on the 5th of every month for "cinco de swayz". The chips are deliciously seasoned, and every time I've gone the chips have been warm and fresh! I've ordered the enchiladas, tostadas and burrito and enjoyed all of them - each comes with a generous helping of rice and refried beans. And best to come hungry because the portion sizes are large, especially the burrito which is hard to eat in one sitting. I almost always walk away with leftovers. To top it all off, they kick it up a notch with a free apple pie shot (with whipped cream) at the end of your meal if you'd like. Deliciosa!

Absolutely one of the best dive bars around!!! Right in the middle of a neighborhood and it shows. Everyone knows your name. Family run bar and the decor changes with each holiday. The old style jukebox of full of 70's, 80's, and 90's tunes. Of course being a small, corner bar, the prices can't be beat and your bartender will even still buy you one in this place. It is cash only and doesn't have an ATM so bring the green with you, sit down at the bar and enjoy a cold one with the peanuts or pretzels they give you!!

Here I go again... In Milwaukee, with a taste for Italian.. Yelpers pointed me to Saraphino's. It's a small restaurant in a mini strip mall, that you would never just happen to run into. It's like your Uncle's place.. older decor, small staff, Aunt in the last booth, reading the paper. The food is amazing.. I ordered simply.. spaghetti and meatballs. Wait before you click off.. the soup was really home made not the BIG can type, the sauce is REALLY good, the garlic bread was made for my order and not burned. :) I was not a fan of the meatballs but I am from the Northeast, where meatballs are just made differently. The owner came over to ask about the food..when he heard my response..he was very appreciative of the praise. If you are ever in the area, you should check it out.. Definite repeat.. :)
First time eating here in many years! Ordered a chicken parm with spaghetti for lunch... And I'm able to have it for dinner too. Very generous portions, normal Price for this type of cuisine and for the competition in the area. The chicken parm was really good, while the pasta was pretty Generic. Overall I'd get it again tho!
I love this place, I always order their 747 huge pizza it's amazing the thin crust is always crispy with a very generous portion of cheese and sauce and whatever topping I decide to put on it. Hands down it's a sure win, the Fettuccini Alfredo is also wonderful.

42 Ale House

3807 S Packard Ave
Saint Francis, 53235
Reviews:
Let me start out by saying I was looking forward to the opening of 42 Ale House from its initial announcement. I frequently checked the facebook page for updates and rubbed my hands together in anticipation. He interior is great. Tastefully decorated in various knick knacks of geek stuff but not to the point that it feels imposing or clustered. The decor was kept very clean and the doodles on the chalkboard were an amazing touch. We wish we had planned better, since there is a tabletop game library in the restaurant. When we went they were streaming a league of legends player which is appreciated since we are huge fans of their esports. We are hoping they stream lcs games and possibly worlds because we will definitely be back to drink and scream at the tvs like any good sports fans. Once we actually ate I felt a bit.. Underwhelmed. The food was good and plated very nicely. However, there was very little that was extraordinary. There were some very cool combinations on the menu each named after a bit of geek culture. The menu itself is small since the restaurant has just opened but I would like to suggest some fish dishes (maybe even calamari named for Cthulhu?), a house salad (maybe named after Poison Ivy?) and possibly a vegan/vegetarian option. As someone who tends to avoid heavy greasy food and often meat, I had a difficult time picking something to eat. Drinks were a tad expensive but super awesome and skillfully prepared. The Pyramid head cocktail was strong, beautiful to look at, and delicious but also seemed very small for its price. Perhaps consider a bigger drink and call it the bubblehead nurse? Just a suggestion from a huge fan of the series and an avid nurse cosplayer! Service was not great. We waited way too long for a slow afternoon for our drinks and food. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches so getting things like refills, boxes, and the check took frustratingly long. All in all this place is a pretty good experience, the menus need to be updated so that they aren't so plain looking and the drinks either need to come down on the price or up on the value. Service issues should be addressed. I'm keeping in mind this is a new venture for the 42 lounge so there are bound to be hiccups. I will, despite having a few issues, most definitely look to have this place become a frequent haunt. Especially for the cosplay events!
Duke enjoyed this location before in its many incarnations. This newest incarnation wasn't up to snuff in my book. It's a welcoming enough place; the geezer at the front was cordial, welcoming and accommodating. Haven't changed the physical space much, which is good. Food was average, not on par with other foodie places north of here, but decent pub food. Seems that the theme might draw in some out of the area folks, but not sure it'll sustain the locals. But one never knows, there's a nice LARP population in Bay View. The concern was with the bar service. Not sure if it was the blokes fight night working as barman, but he was woefully unprepared for the amount of drink tickets tossed his way. The word awkward doesn't begin to describe this gent while he moved behind the bar. When I inquired about the bill of sale, he gave me someone else's (which I should've paid...it was less). I explained that the bill was not ours and he snatched it off the bar in a somewhat brusque manner and proclaimed that he'd get mine as soon as he could and Bob's your uncle! Now I'm no John Taffer but he was a bit in over his head from my vantage point, struggling to keep up with what I perceived as a less than average night. This gent is the front line and he's not winning over any converts with his confusion and lack of grace. If it were premiere night, I'd accept his inability to keep up with the service, but seems that the pub was a couple months in. His ballcap was ace! Probably won't muster up a repeat performance from Duke with so many other choices in the Bay View area.
I checked out 42 Ale House tonight for the fist time. We arrived at 8 to participate in the Tuesday night trivia game which was X-files themed!! Heck yussss. We ordered a pizza Gannon something or another which had pulled pork, beer cheese and bacon on it. The za was pretty good, a little on the smaller size but perfect for splitting if you're not too hungry. As for the atmosphere, I was hoping for a little more geek decor but they do have a large selection of games available from tabletop to counsel which you can check out up at the bar! They also host fun events from time to time such as themed nights and little field trips like a trip to the renaissance faire! All in all, Ale House is pretty good when you're feeling a more laid back vibe, for more of a nightlife feel check out 42 Lounge downtown Milwaukee!

This is a bar I normally wouldn't really want to be "seen" at - but, I'd rather not run into people I knew in high school while visiting my family in Milwaukee, so I go here. My mom and her husband are regulars here, as is most everyone else I saw in here. It has a great neighborhood bar feel, but I have a feeling if you're not "in", it might not be as great of a place. I was a regular by association, and the bartenders took care of me as well as they do the 'rents. Fast service, free beer, and cups for the road (oops...is that even legal?). It's worth a shot if you're in the area and want a quick, cheap beer.

Dairy Queen

We've never had a problem with this Dairy Queen. It's close to home, the staff has always been nice to us, the dining room is clean and I LOVE Dairy Queen ice cream.
Its DQ - What do you expect? The wait was long, the blizzards were a little sloppy, but still tasted good. The medium is a pretty large size blizzard, so if you arent too hungry, a small is def enough.
I would give this place zero stars if I could. First we were all but ignored when we walked in. Three separate employees walked part us, including a man that looked to the manager. Finally, a woman came to help us and she did not look happy we were there. In fact she acted like we bothered her. Second, she informs us that they don't participate in any of the current promotions since its past the end of the month. Well, we were there on the last day of the month, but according to her the 25th is the end of the month and we are wrong. She was so rude we decided to just leave and not get anything. Had her attitude been better, we might have still ordered and ate there. Third on the way out, she made rude comments about my father and I. She made sure she was loud enough that we heard it. I guess this store owner has too much money, and can afford to let his help be rude, and money to walk out of the store. Next time we will stick to the Dairy Queen in West Allis, as they are always nice and have never been rude.
