My son.and i stopped for dinner and a drink. Notice that's a local hangout for many people but was treated nicely. Bartender was pretty busy but did chat a bit with us about a bar in our hometown. I don't see that it's mexican so not sure how it got that tag. We ordered fried cauliflower. A few bigger pieces were frozen in the middle but after leaving them to "cool" they were edible. The smaller pieces were really good. I would order again. I had the shrimp basket and my son had wings. The wings were awesome as I had 1 and they are great size, not fatty and very good. The shrimp were ok and had a lot of them. My son ordered a Spotted Cow and it was cold and tasted great. I ordered a SoCo and pineapple. It tasted really good. I would get that again Had a great time and would go back.

Went last night to visit cousin in Ripon. We went to Millers to watch the badger game. We asked if we'd be able to hear the game. They said yes. I hate hearing music when a game is playing. Once game did come on we could only hear it if we were next to the tv. All the TVs were out of sync. There was a young college crowd. Very loud for how big the place was and amount of people in there. It took forever to order food, which had to be done at the bar. Once we finally ordered food it took forever to get a pitcher of beer and a captain and coke. There was only two bartenders. They were running with there heads chopped off. We started watching the game and our food took forever to get because they didn't see us sitting down. Once they did they didn't bring any plates for our pizza or an napkins. So we had to ask and the were mad about it. Once we got our bill I went to the bar to pay. They bartender acknowledged me. I waited for 10 minutes. They were making small chat with everyone. Getting new drinks for there local patroons. Guys in front of me were sitting down. They call bartender over and to myself said screw it. I threw my bill down in front and cut them off. Saying keep the change I've been waiting for 10 minutes. I ask for my drinks and bartender was sobbing about it. Guys I cut off turned around and looked at me funny and said ,he knows what he wants, with attitude. I don't normally cut people off especially my elders. I don't care that I'm not a local but everyone to a bartender should be a local. I won't be coming back anytime soon. There are other bars in Ripon.

Many bars focus on their sales of alcohol and offer food as an afterthought. Other taverns attempt to differentiate themselves by having their kitchen creatively serve up quality ingredients. Miller's Tavern falls firmly into the former. My recent dining experience left me with the impression that Miller's kitchen staff just assembled and warmed institutional-grade ingredients and applied little in the way of creativity or technique to any of the food. Service was a mixed bag during my recent visit. No one greeted our party of thirteen when we arrived at 7pm on a Friday night. We eventually flagged down a server, who told us that someone else would get to us. After about five minutes, another server came over and directed us to the upper level. When she interacted with us, our personable server was tremendous. However, she would vanish for long stretches of time and we ended up going to the bar to get refills of our beverages. It took more than an hour to get our food and our server never told us that the kitchen was running that slow. The Hot Combo Basket we ordered as an appetizer was standard fryer to freezer fare. The jalapeno poppers and the Texas Toothpicks lacked any real heat. I appreciated that everything in the basket was served piping hot and the exterior of each item had the requisite level of crunchiness. I ordered the haddock plate, served with four portions of piping hot fish, a couple slices of soft rye bread, soupy cole slaw and your choice of fries or potato salad. I enjoyed the crunch of the exterior batter, not too thick, but a tad salty. The texture of the fish seemed off, a bit too chewy and the color was a light tan instead of the usual white. The quantity of the fish served for the $8.25 price made this meal a decent value if you favor quantity or quality. Other than the crunchy crinkle-cut fires, the sides were forgettable. The soggy, overdressed cole slaw suffered from too much sweetness and too little cabbage. The under seasoned potato salad lacked flavor and needed some textural contrast. The rye bread suffered from the same blandness as the potato salad. My daughter ordered the cheese pizza. After eating a slice or two, she learned the hard way that there is such a thing as bad pizza and started poaching food off the plates of her fellow diners. This craptastic pizza spent far too long in the oven, evidenced by its tooth-shattering crust and coated with a hard dome of filmy, brown cheese. Just writing about this pizza has me reaching for a bottle of Tums. If you are looking for a place to watch the game with your drinking buddies, Miller's Tavern is decent landing spot. However, if you want seek a satisfying meal made with healthy ingredients, your taste buds and your waistline will thank you for going elsewhere.

Ohhh I love Millers! People think of a stereotypical Wisconsin bar & this is it. Come here with my parents & friends. Majority of the people that come in are super friendly. It's not a five star restaurant, but it's super fun.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
