I'll be cutting off my own nose to spite my face telling you all how WONDERFUL this place is. There will never be room for me again! :) Hosts Steve and Tom are accommodating (oh, pun-pun) and delightful. Not to mention hilarious! All three cottages are warm, cheerful and charming and located below the main lodge/bar/hotel on the shores of pristine Clear Lake. Swimming and fishing is the best you could ask for on this immaculate, private-owned gem. In addition to the cottage rentals they have 6 hotel rooms. Each room is uniquely decorated in "northwoods" style (loons, white-tail deer, fish). If you are a CLEAN-FREAK this is the place for you! Absolutely spotless. At the time of my last visit in 2007, 5 of the 6 units were still 2-room "suites" with kitchenette's. Perfect for small families or couples (sigh...wonderful memories). Their Beachcomber Lounge is a local favorite. It entertains both pool and dart tournaments and offers some of the best home-cooked food in the area. Steve makes and proudly serves the best cheese-cake EVER! Come for the "local flavor", joke-of-the-day, fish tales and just downright good fun. Top-notch accommodations, great food and drink and fun hosts. Could anyone ask for more?

Tom and Steve have a great resort. The beautiful cabin was spacious and equipped with everything we needed. We used the BBQ and fire pit after a nice snowshoe walk around the lake. Perfect for snowmobiling as the trail is right across the road. The Beachcombers bar had great food and the staff and locals were very friendly. Steve makes the best cheesecake, so leave room for dessert. I would recommend both the bar and resort.

Without a doubt, the BEST Friday Nite fish (fry is optional) in the Rhinelander area. The owners, Tom and Steve, and Dawn (Their right hand), run an exceptional resort. Fun and really friendly bar, lowww prices, great drinks, excellent food. As a group of about 20 people who have been coming up to this area for years (20 plus), this has been our best find, by far. And, as a side note, DO NOT MISS THE CHANCE TO SEE THEIR HOMES ON THE LAKE !!! You'll be blown away, and the rates are GREAT!

This is true Northwoods hospitality. Steve and Tom are great hosts! The food is top notch Northwoods bar food with a few uncommon surprises thrown in (Steve's cheesecake for one!!). In the summer you might even be lucky enough to get Tom's homegrown tomatoes on your pizza or sandwich. This place is the real deal.
