O&H is locally known for the best kringle around but sometimes we forget about all the other delicious goodies they have. I remember it was always a treat as a child when my grandma would bring me to O&H for one of their decorated cookies. I stopped in today and wanted to try something different. The woman behind the counter recommended the cinnamon snail and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten! You just can't miss out on this amazing bakery!

Excellent, as everyone else has noted, the staff was so kind; when I wanted to have a small kringle (which they don't make) they offered to give me two of the sample pieces from the counter so I could take them back to the hotel to share with family. Fantastic, light, dry and so yummy!

The bakery here is not a restaurant where you can sit be served and eat. It's a bakery where you can buy all kinds of tasty treats. I came across the seasonal special of the pumpkin Kringle. I may not be a Dane, but I am European and know a great product when I taste it, and the food here is scrumptious! This bakery makes more authentic Danish things than most American bakeries. A Kringle is a circular ring shaped pastry in Scandinavian countries. In Dutch it's called krakeling. It's all very tasty, but what surprised me here was the pricing. I just came across the exact OH Bakery Kringle for $4.99 at Trader Joe's. At the bakery here it's around $8.00, but mail order it's $19.99 and that's not including shipping of $10.00! This pastry is good ,but not $20.00 good! So for me to find it for $4.99 is quite a deal! I'm gonna go get another! These might not be the most healthy thing to be eating, but it sure is tasty!

They have updated the packaging since my first review. Now the pastry arrives in tact. Major improvement

Great Kringles and donuts! I can't believe I haven't gone there sooner!

I was introduced to the Kringle last year on a trip to Racine. I can't properly express my love for these magic ring pastries! Cherry cheese is a bit of heaven. Every time I come down to Racine, a stop to O&H is a must!

My holiday tradition with O&H is over. They proudly tout a 2 day delivery guarantee (that you pay for) but when my shipment turned to at least 5 days they refused to acknowledge the issue. Their response - no worries, our products stay good for at least 7 days. My response - this is my last order for my family and gifts for others. O & H does not stand behind their service. Time for a new and healthier tradition.

At work I was surprised to find that a co-worker brought in, half of a pecan kringle and half of a cherry cheese kringle. This dude bought them over the Thanksgiving weekend, kept them frozen till he was ready to share it at work. I'm glad he did. These kringles were awesome. I'm surprised at how nicely the danish was after sitting frozen for some time. The texture, the flavors, right amount of softness, the creme on top is creamy and the pecan filling is just enough. You almost think, it doesn't need the frosting, but, it compliments well. With a cup of coffee, the combo was perfect. Looks like I've found a unique gift idea here. Check the website, they have a weekly drawing to win a kringle and they'll ship it free! Looks like many of their kringles are around $13 dollars +, you can find kringle combos i.e 3 flavors for approx $30+. One can also have a 3 months or more, supply of kringles sent as a gift.

One of the best bakeries I've ever been too. The staff doesn't look to stoked to be there but I'm just going to ignore it as I'm not reviewing people here. Anyways, I was up in Racine for work and a family friend of mine told me to try the kringles and to bring one back for them, on my last day of work up in Racine, I made a point of stopping here and decided to grab 6 kringles to take back home with me. Boy am I glad I made that decision as in less than a day, 2 kringles got completely engulfed by my family who came out to visit. Fortunately I still have 2 left in the freezer but I don't see them being there for very long...

OHHHH my God, Someone was visiting yesterday and brought this desert called an apple kringle. Being from NY I have been to many bakeries, but this desert was pure Heaven. It is a round danish ring with apple filling and Icing on top. They ship anywhere and the Kringles only cost 12 bucks. I have just placed an order online. This is better than chocolate. For anyone who likes an occasional desert this is it. They have an awesome website that shows the pictures. They have other things that look really good. Who would have thought a place in Wisconsin? I wont even bring up sweet tea as I am sure they do not know what that even is as you know I rate a lot of things based on their sweet tea.

o and h OH HOW I LOVE THEE see that, o and h equals oh! go figure. anyway, back to the yelp! so every year for the last four years we now have two traditions for the holidays, first i see how sedated i can get to handle a week at the inlaws (kidding my love) and second, o and h kringle rings!!!!! what is this kringle you ask? well my friends, pretend we took everything good in the universe and created a ring, whats that! the universe IS a ring? geez, thanks carl sagan! ok, check that, pretend, ok, no more pretending. a kringle is a danish, ok, i guess theres really not too much mystery there, but where your local danish will pale by comparison, the kringle takes it up a notch. im not sure what it is, the fresh and quality ingredients, the yummy fillings, going from turtle, to almond, to cherry cheese to apple to apricot, you picking up what im putting down yet? the filling is one thing, but the ring itself is top notch too. light, flakey, thin, not doughy not too puffy. and they will deliver in time for the holidays. these guys have a bunch of other stuff too, cakes, traditional danish item(i really mean from denmark) yum yum yum time to order

We were fortunate enough to try 4 different Kringles from O & H Danish Bakery in the last 6 months or so. We have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them. The bakery had to ship all the way out to SoCal and they did not disappoint. We thank our friend from Racine, WI for introducing us to this awesome dessert! Yummy~~ We love Danish Kringles from O&H Danish Bakery in Racine, WI!!!

It's that time of year again. The pumpkin caramel Kringle is so delicious that i can't even find the words to describe it. This Danish pastry is so soft, moist, and tender: completely different from the flaky, light and dry layers that are characteristic of French and Italian pastry. I'm not at all ashamed to admit that I consumed the entire 1lb pastry myself. It took 48 hours to finish the entire thing, but I did. I highly recommend you try it.

NYAM NYAM NYAM - boy, do I love O&H Bakery!!! This family-owned Danish bakery has been around since '49, currently run by the 4th generation Olesen members. They are known for their OG Kringles, a hand-rolled pastry that has 32 layers of flaky dough, filled with different fillings, then iced :D O&H has a variety of flavors available: Almond, Almond Macaroon, Apple, Apricot, Apricot Cheese, Birthday (filled with custard and raspberry jam, and then iced with birthday sprinkles!), Blueberry, Cherry, Cherry Cheese, Chocolate Pecan, Cinnamon Roll, Cream Cheese, Easter (filled with cream cheese and has spring-colored sprinkles on top), Irish Cream, Maple Walnut, Pecan, Raspberry, Turtle, Wisconsin (filled with cream cheese, Door County cherries, and cranberries), Apple & Almond, and Pecan & Raspberry. I am a huge fan of their Pecan, but I also do not discriminate against their other delicious flavors :D The flaky pastry dough is so light, with a lovely glaze (that is not too overly sweet); it is filled with just the right amount of filling - a mix of pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon - all a good ratio with the dough - YUM! Don't forget to heat it up in the oven for a few minutes, as that makes a world of a difference (or, if you're lucky, pick a fresh one up in person at one of their Racine locations!). Those who live out-of-state, check out their Kringle of the Month Club, where you can sign up for 3-, 6-, 9-, or 12-months to receive monthly shipments of the Kringle (which also comes with an explanation of the gift itself). Besides Kringles, O&H also offers coffee cakes, layer cakes, crown cakes, bread puddings, breads, pastries, and even gluten-/salt-/sugar-free options :D Definitely a lovely treat, so check them out! +Kringles!!! +family-owned Danish bakery :D +based out of Racine, WI +Kringle of the Month Club :D

I am in love with this bakery. Their treats are so delicious!! We went there for cake tasting for our wedding cake and the staff was amazing. They made sure they were attentive without being overly attentive. We ended up hiring them to make our wedding cakes (my cake and the groom's cake) and they were both absolutely delicious! I didn't have a set picture of what I wanted but rather a general idea and they made my idea come to life! It exceeded my expectations!! They ended up delivering the cake to the reception hall and got it there without anything being ruined on it.

This review is for online ordering only. It's pricey but you get a delicious quality pastry delivers to your door on time. Portions are very generous. We've tried the Seven Sisters for Christmas morn and the heart shaped Kringle for Valentine's Day. Definitely recommend if you are having company...impressive taste and sized to share. Wonderful with a nice strong cup of coffee.

O & H is a place I had never heard of until I visited my Fiance's family. I was told "Kringle would be waiting for me when I had arrived;" however, I had no idea what that meant. Thankfully, I am now well-accustomed to Kringle at O & H! Being from Cincinnati, I understand that certain things need to be eaten when visiting an area (Cincy Chili/Ice cream ect). This place is a must-visit every time! I like to try each of the Kringle flavors, but right now top 3 equals 1. Pecan 2. Maple Walnut 3. Turtle. This may be updated as we go along. Also, we have had other great treats at the bakery. Can't wait for my next visit to Racine/Obligatory visit for some great treats at O & H.

So great! Great service! Great desserts!! If you are looking for something delicious get the cream cheese kringle and a Danish layer cake!!! I love this place!

Small old school bakery that has a unique take on everything. Don't look for anything "healthy" here although I believe they have sugar free options. The kringle is amazing and the baked goods outstanding. The service is something to be desired but when you walk in and smell that fresh bakery smell you will be hooked.

This is one of the things that I miss the very most about Chicagoland (sorry WI but relative to the west coast, Racine counts as such). I love O&H. SO MUCH!!! A must-stop whenever I'm in the remote vicinity. Everything I've ever eaten here is magnificent. I have a special soft spot (my belly) for all forms of their doughnuts. It's always a pleasure to introduce kringle virgins to their first big ring. My favorite non-food thing about O&H is how many of their customers are in their 70s-80s. 'Cause 1) you know it must be good and 2) look, those people ate O&H for decades and are still alive! I want to be one of them someday.

    (5)
  • Jeffrey K.

There are several bakeries around the Racine area that make the Danish pastry Kringle but O&H is by far the best. They also have a fine selection of other baked goods like donuts, cookies, cakes and pies... but the Kringle is what you want.

  • Prachi B.

I was introduced to kringles and the O&H Bakery several years ago by colleagues while on a short project in Racine. Absolutely delicious pastries - I loved the Turtle Kringle. I occasionally order them online and have them shipped on special occasions.

Undoubtedly the very best Kringles in the world. We travel to Milwaukee from Dallas at least six times per year and each time we return with a supply of Kringles for ourselves, family and friends. We also manage to consume a few while in Milwaukee. It was great to find the Milwaukee outlet. It saves traveling 50 miles round trip for our treasured purchase and with the money we saved on gas we could afford an extra Kringle. (lol) We learned to call the day before to leave an order so we were able to buy all the Kringles available in Racine.. If you have a sweet tooth for breakfast, don't miss out on these wonderful treats.

Kringle- Danish layer cake- what more can I say? Can't live without either! Must go to place when in town and to bring back on the plane!

This is where you need to go to, for kringle, cream puffs, donuts, cakes, and other various pastries. They are a Danish bakery and serve their perfection to the community.

We went in for a kringle, and left with more! We sampled cookies, a small cake, and a doughnut-like pastry. Everything was incredibly sweet and full of flavor. The cherry kringle served as a nice dessert as well as breakfast. It's definitely a pastry you need to eat with a a fork!

I was so amazed how delicious and fresh the Kringle's that I ordered just amazing, I highly recommend you order any of their cakes and Kringle"s.I will order again and again. Truly the best!!

My husband is from Racine, but has lived in Utah for many years. We order Kringle several times a year both for our family and friends. A few days ago I decided to order a cake for our son's birthday. It was shipped with dry ice and arrived on the date specified. We took it to the restaurant last night for the birthday celebration and it was a total hit. The cake had a raspberry and pudding filling that everyone enjoyed. We have some very good bakeries in our area but O&H is the absolute treat of all treats!

O&H's Kringles are to die for. Such a simple thing really, but so good. We were flying up to Oshkosh WI last month and I made a pit stop in Racine just to pick up some Kringles for the trip home (which was on a Sunday, the one day O&H is closed). I picked up five kringles, four to take home to VA. Once we sampled one that night in Oshkosh (Key Lime pie, yum), my buddies immediately regretted not buying their own and attempted to buy mine. No-way-ho-zay. My favorite was the cherry cheese, but they were all good. They kept fine for a week, even without a few days of refridgeration. Buying fresh from the bakery is the way to go--they're about 1/2 the cost (~$8 versus ~$16 online) of ordering online and without the shipping costs. I should mention we also tried some other sweets from the bakery, and none disappointed. Yuo really can't go wrong here.

Absolutely delicious pastries (fresh!). A big hit is the Kringle which is a pastry particular to Wisconsin, they're tasty so it's worth trying if you've never had one. In any case, the pastries in general are very good.

Enjoyed stopping in. Staff was so friendly. Bought a few kringles and tried out a cupcake. Very yum!

If you've never heard of or tasted a Kringle before, DON'T MISS OUT & try O&H! I believe that O&H has the original Kringle (well if not, it has been voted the best). So what is a Kringle? you say: It's a butter layered Danish pastry from the late 1800's, shaped into an oval which is full of light, tender, flaky and flavorful jams and cremes. To name a few flavors: Almond, cherry cheese, almond macaroon, chocolate, apple, pecan, apricot, pineapple pecan, blueberry, raspberry (my favorite of them all) and cream cheese--Some flavors are only available during specific seasons or months. If you don't live anywhere near Racine, Wisconsin, then you can order one online. They are a good price, come with many portions for a party/get-together, & of course DELICIOUS!

We stopped at this great place when we were staying at racine for the germanfest.I have had a Kringle and wanted to buy one for breakfast for me & my girlfriend. These are great and taste excellent. This store also offered lots of breads, muffins and other goodies. If your Racine you should stop at this place you'll be glad you did.

This reminds me of when you're a kid and you say that you love something and your stupid friends say "well why don't you just marry it then?" If marrying an O & H Kringle were an option, I totally would do it. And their Danish layer cake would be our beautiful love child. **UPDATE** I was there this past week to pick up something for work (yeah, my life is so hard) and I saw a sign that proclaimed that they now carry RED VELVET KRINGLE. Did you hear that sound? It was my mind being blown...

I have never been to Racine and I have never been to O&H Bakery but a friend has been sending me O&H kringles at holiday time for years. I just got a box of kringles today and, my god, do I love these pastries. I've had every flavor and I rarely share them. I know that it's not the thing to do at Christmas but I don't care. I will proudly devour these kringles by Christmas day and no one will ever know. Now that I've shared my very selfish kringle ways with the world, I have some eating to do.

My brother sent my Mother a "Seven Sisters Coffee Cake" from O and H for Mother's Day. Not only did it arrive the the day after Mother's Day, but it was so damaged that we could only guess what it was. I will be posting a photo on their website. Never again will any of our family us this bakery. We will deal only with Danish Bakeries in Solvang, CA.

  • Allan M.

Great pastries, and of course, kringles! The pecan and apple kringles I got didn't disappoint, and I also got a vanilla silk donut that turned out to be pretty decent. Ah, how much right now I wish this wasn't all the way north in Racine! But I know I'd gain so much pounds, if it was any closer to Chicago....

    (5)
  • Ellen S.

Get the maple walnut kringle. You won't regret it.

    (5)
  • Marshall G.

Known for the kringles, but everything made out of this place is good. Favorites include the red velvet kringle and the pumpkin brownie (seasonal). Their donuts are good too. I wish they would expand to Chicago.

    (4)
  • Jason T.

Kringle is ridiculous. I have never gotten anything else from this bakery, and probably never will. I don't need to, Kringle is that good. The flavors they come up with at this bakery seem to be more original and inventive than the other Kringle bakeries I've been to, which is why I prefer it. Red Velvet Kringle is amazing.

    (5)
  • Mark K.

Kringle is one of my favorite WI guilty pleasures. My family has been loyal O & H Bakery customers for generations. Cherry Cheese, Almond and Turtle are family favorites. The on-line service is fantastic, my family's holiday is complete with there deliver service to CA.

  • D H.

We ordered our wedding cake from O&H and it was amazing! I loved the fact that when you go to 'taste' their offerings, you get actual cake, with the fillings baked in (as you should expect) in this neat little box. I think it was 6 of their most popular flavor/filling combo's and boy were we excited to enjoy them! The traditional Danish layer was awesome! The bakery had no problem accomodating my ideas for design, color, and custom cake topper. The prices were extremely reasonable. The delivery fee from Racine to Milwaukee (including set up) was cheap and I was pleased that the rental fee for the base/tray was partially refunded to us upon its return. We even got a free top tier on our anniversary... I would totally recommend this bakery for wedding cake, (also for Kringle) to those in Racine and also Milwaukee - its worth the drive!

  • Morigian B.

What can I say? I spent just the briefest of time in this area of the country, and fell in love with Kringle. True to my Danish roots! I sent these as gifts on multiple occasions to my Mormor (that's grandmother for you non Danes) who was over joyed by a treat she associated with her childhood. We had one difficulty with shipping that was delayed, and the company promptly replaced the kringle with a new one, as we were worried about eating the one that arrived. Excellent customer service. Would definitely order again. I wish shipping wasn't so crazy expensive.

Top to the bottom this is the best bakery around town. Hands down the best kringle along with everything else. Their cinnamon bread is delicious!

Kringle. Kringle. Kringle. Get the picture? They're fabulous - especially the pecan version. Service is adequate considering the place gets busy. Definitely worth a stop.

  • Cori H.

Having grown up in Racine and being part Danish, O & H was a staple in my family. I've enjoyed many of their specialties over the years including Danish Layer Cakes for special occasions, Kringles and Seven Sisters Coffee Cakes. Trust me; Kringles are great office treats. I've lived in several states, and coworkers have always raved when I'd bring them back from a hometown visit.

    (5)
  • Jeff O.

    THE best Kringle around.

    (5)
  • Jessica Z.

When you order the Danish layer cake request the whipped cream frosting - it's true the "buttercream" leaves a fakey-fatty film on human tastebuds. However, the "Seven Sisters" coffeecake cluster thing is more addictive than a Cinnabon covered in bacon. I grew up thinking kringle was an everyday pastry, as it was served at church social hours, funerals, office parties, mall openings, and retirement parties. Pecan was the gold standard, followed by cherry, raspberry, and the later and more decadent, cheese. Skip the chocolate and turtle versions - best to taste the buttery pastry clinging to fruit and nut fillings.

  • Sara A.

At the suggestion of my friend who has visited their shop for years, I ordered two Kringles from O & H Danish Bakery to have delivered to me at work. I selected the Pumpkin Maple (because I LOVE pumpkin flavored anything!) and a cherry filled Kringle for my father. I received my order a day earlier than I expected, and it was delicious! I will likely order from them again in the future, and if I'm ever in the Racine, WI area, would like to stop in and see their store. Thumbs up - worth a try!

    (4)
  • Jennifer Z.

Their Kringle is OK. I detest their cakes. Living in Racine, lots of people want O&H danish cake for their birthday/retirement/going away parties. Ugh. The frosting is like eating Crisco. I'm not a fan.
