Surprisingly great. We went on a Thursday night to celebrate two birthdays. Our party had six adults and two children. None of us were from the Portage area, it was a central meeting location that none of us had been to before. Loved the crab dip platter on the table to start. Our waitress was not only attentive and accommodating but really went above and beyond. My parents wanted to share the steak and shrimp and not only were they cool with that for no extra charge they have them both the soup starter, and served it on two plates with equal amount of side potatoes on each. We all enjoyed our food. The special was steak and shrimp which multiple people had and enjoyed. The cheese soup was delicious. The kids meals were very large and I'm pretty sure the leftovers served as a full meal for my brother in law the next day. To top it all off both birthday boys received free brownie ice cream sundaes with enough spoons for everyone to share! The bill was a reasonable $121 for all people and included multiple beers.

Suzy's did a nice job accommodating our dinner for nine. I cannot speak for the rest of the party, thus, my rating is based on my meal. When in culinary arts school, my chef said to judge a chef by his or her ability to correctly prepare vegetables. I ordered the stir fry and the vegetables were cooked to death thus, they had a mushy texture and little taste. Keep working at it chef! Other than the vegetables, the service was great and others seem to enjoy their meals.

Everything was great. The best clam chowder I have ever had. The beer batter fish was light and crispy without the grease.

I stopped in on a Thursday evening and was seated right away. Angie was at the table with water within a minute or two. I ordered a Pepsi, rib eye steak with fries and a tossed salad with ranch dressing. The salad came out within a few minutes along with crab dip, baby carrots, celery and little packages of bread sticks. The salad was nicely dressed, had tomatoes, a couple of cucumbers, red onions and croutons. I tried the crab dip but didn't eat much as I am not a fan of crab.....no fault of the restaurant. The steak came out after I had finished the salad......something I think is very important! I really dislike it when the entree comes out before I am done with my salad so this was awesome to me! When Angie brought the steak she told me the plate was hot and she was right. The steak was cooked just like I asked for - medium. It was flavorful and the au jus that was included was tasty. I would love to give them 5 stars but the one thing that is stopping me is the fact that I was charged $4.50 for a soda. I don't know if that is the normal price or if they charge by the glass (no free refills). It that was the case it would have been nice if Angie would have said something about it. When I order a soda, I figure there will be free refills unless I am told otherwise. All in all, I had a good experience and I will return if I am in the area again.

Pricy but good. Our party was a group of three and we bought conservatively, ordered no appetizers, 1 water, 2 coffees and our bill came to 67 dollars including the tip. One meal was the rib eye (18), one the ravioli (12) and one the chicken with asparagus (17). As I recall those were the prices on these three plates. Good service, very good food. There were some inexpensive sandwiches on the menu in the 8-10 dollar range. All the other meals were 10-25 and some at market price for lobster and a few others. Each meal comes with a choice of side and salad or soup. Nice straight forward menu. Pretty interior. Clean bathrooms.

Very good food, very bad service. My wife and I had a good meal. The scallops were very tender - not rubbery at all. The filet was very tender. The rolls were good. I was not a big fan of the "make your own salad" salad, but I can handle that. But, the waitress! She forgot to bring the crab dip tray before the meal, forgot to bring rolls, failed to bring drink refills, and could not describe the food or the desserts after the meal. The topper on her table-side manner, or lack of it, was when she neglected us for a while, came back to the table and said, "Wow, you guys must have been hungry". Well, actually we just ate our meal and now that you came back, we happen to be done...

This is my third time here. The food is a always really good. Although a little expensive. The service this time was lacking. I know we came in at the end of the dinner rush and the waitress was probably a little tired but we seemed to wait around a lot between getting things. This time we got the calamari (love the sauce!), clam chowder (yumm) and I got the Parmesan baked haddock (not exactly what I expected but really good). I know we'll be back again.

Food good, a four , service a zero. Like the other posts, the servers treat you like an annoyance. For the third time in two years went with our ski group. Because of service issues in the past we had a 6 p.m. Reservation, where the group leader confirmed our tables would be waiting. We limited the group to four menu choices and called in the order earlier in the he day. Ignored. There was another group in the party room where we have been seated in the be past and we arrived to a completely filled restaurant. We waited until 8:30 for most, but not all to be seated. Then the waitresses proceeded to take everyones order, no drinks,. There were six at our table, the crab dip platter has two carrots and three celery sticks. Because the wait was sooooo long we cleaned out the bread basket which was good. Food arrived after 9:30, never saw anyone to refill the water and then the checks. Left after 10. Next time the group want to go there, I will just go somewhere else. The leader did everything to make it easy, but the biggest annoyance was that they took the reservation and probably knew were would be waiting hours.

If you're from out of town and looking for someplace to eat, this is NOT where you should come. I was not sure if I should write a review or not because I'm from out of town visiting for Cascade Mountain (skii, tubing, snowboarding a few miles away) and with the amount of time waiting for our *new* waitress, to order, and even for our food was absolutely repulsive. We were a party of 10 with a reservation at 6:45pm. Showed up on time, seated a few minutes after arriving. Suzy (who is probably THE Suzy) seated us and told us our server Jenny would be with us in a few minutes.. nope, never happened. I asked a nearby server if she was Jenny and she said "no, she should be with you shortly though." And then Suzy came by again, seating other guests.. I tried to make eye contact with her to hint our server never came and the one who I spoke to previously asked if she should serve us, but Suzy said she was getting someone new for us. So, around 7:00pm, Angie came by. She seemed very flustered, rushed, and just not ready to work. By this time, we were all ready to order.. so we did. I have a severe seafood (shellfish and fish) allergy so I explained to her that everything needs to be prepared separately and Angie kinda just gave me a look and said "ok.. you don't have to worry about it." We all ordered. Appetizers came about 10 minutes later. Soups and salads came 35 minutes later. Entrées came 60-65 minutes later (8:00pm). Trust me, you do not want to waste your time or money here. I ordered the prime rib which many other people before me on Yelp recommended and I wasn't amazed at all. Finishing up - maybe it wasn't Angie's fault everything took so long, but she kept saying she was spread thin because she was given a large group on the other side of the restaurant.. so we rarely saw her. We had to make sure we asked for everything we needed when we had her there or else we'd be waiting another 15-20 minutes.

We were a party of six right at the dinner rush hour. We were seated and had a plate of bread sticks and carrots with a cheese dip immediately, and cocktails very quickly after that. Salad and rolls arrived maybe 5 minutes after drinks. Between the salads and the steaks was maybe a 15 minute wait, but we had more cocktails and so the time went quickly. All of us ordered rib eye steaks, and all were done perfectly. All told we were there less than an hour and a half, the bill was reasonable- and I didn't have to wash dishes!!! :)

Usually have the shrimp or shrimp and prime rib. Food is great. Service great and like the log cabin atmosphere. Have been there many times and never disappointed. The closest thing to a good supper club in the area.

Delicious food. Friendly service. Coming from LA, four cocktails and two full entrees and appetizer and kid meal for under $70 is kind of unheard of. Quality is high, lots if items are clearly homemade. The onion rings are fabulous. The filet and beer batter shrimp were both tender and juicy. Great brandy old fashioneds. A great meal. Thanks Suzy and co.
