This place is great! Haven't had a bad thing there yet! The foods great, staff is fun and friendly, the prices are cheap for a sushi place. I had the same meal in a major city it was half as good and twice the price. NOTE: Drink:Try the Hot Sake Sushi: you can't go wrong with their take on spicy tuna rolls. Appetizer: fried Tofu is always a big hit at my table.

Outstanding sushi!!! Everything I ate was extremely fresh and tasty. The salmon shashimi, tempura roll, portage roll we're all top notch...It's the best sushi I've found in wisconsin.

Sushi? In Portage? Nice! One visit here -- good food, good prices, decent service, acceptable atmosphere (get rid of the soda cooler in the dining room, though...). I'll be back. You want to eat here!

Visited Portage for the 1st time, we usually stay in Dells, so am kinda skeptical especially which restaurant offers good Asian cuisine (coz my 2-year old daughter loves rice). So we came across this one via yelp and am glad we picked this restaurant. The food is good! We ordered teriyaki salmon bento, teriyaki shrimp bento, beef bento and shrimp tempura and everything taste good with generous servings! The ambience is cozy and clean. Best of all they have a very good service. Such nice and friendly staff! My daughter had a great time playing with them. Will definitely recommend this place and will even go back if ever we planned to visit portage/dells.

My wife and I love Chinese, Japanese, Mexican you name it.... With that being said we eat Sushi all the time. We stopped in here and were blown away with the entire experience. The food was fantastic, the sushi was the best I've had in Wisconsin. Ive eaten at every Sushi joint in Madison and surrounding areas and nothing has even come close to this. Service was very polite and tentative. Food was hot, fresh and above all standards. Presentation was beautiful. If I could leave 6 stars which have never said in any review to date, I would leave it. Resturant was clean and well kept. This is a resturant in the small city of Portage, WI.... Thats whay makes this so awesome. This small town has a big time chinese resturant. This could be in Madison and be a hit. Survive in any major city but to have it here is a bonus for all locals. I hope they take advantage. Some people are turned off by the sound of sushi thinking it is all raw fish. Absolutely not the case go have fun and have a date night and experience something new. Alot more than just sushi on the menu. In order for them to succeed they will need support. We will visit as often as the wife wants chinese food. We will also be bringing friends and family.

Great food and service... I liked the quiet atmosphere, it's no big city sushi bar but I will be back again !

When I learned a sushi place had opened up shop in Portage I knew that I had to try it. I wanted to get to it sooner rather than later because in this town restaurants--and especially conceptually ambitious restaurants like this one--tend to be pretty ephemeral and I didn't want to miss my chance. Well, I recently got my chance. I enlisted my fiancée and her mother to take this place on. We were greeted at about 3pm to a very empty restaurant--that's fine, 3pm is an off hour for any restaurant. The hostess/server was very polite and showed us to our table immediately. She was very friendly, and throughout the meal was good about keeping drinks topped off and checking up on us. I really can't complain about the service, but then again we were the only party in there so we probably wouldn't be exposed to issues if they did exist. Moving on! We chose three rolls to split between us as an appetizer, for a total of $10.95. That is an outstanding deal, really. I'm not going to say it was the best sushi that I've had because that would definitely not be true, but it was surprisingly decent for Portage. The rolls were all pretty basic; the Philidelphia roll had a good, smokey flavor to it and the shrimp tempura did a decent job of emphasizing the flavor of the shrimp rather than masking it with a gallon of eel sauce (although the sauce was a bit on the sweeter side, even for a sauce that usually has a lot of sweetness to it). They had some interesting offerings among the "chef's special rolls" but I couldn't justify paying Chicago prices for Portage sushi so I didn't try it. $30.95 for sushi rolls here seems a bit fantastical when I can get excellent sushi for less in way larger markets. Sorry guys, I'm just not paying that price when my sushi shop back home can do the same kinds of rolls for a little over half the price (and make a more well-balanced roll, too, if the more plain rolls are any indication of the rest of the sushi menu). We each had a dinner combo of our own as well. This comes with a lot; a soup, salad, and a fairly generous portion of the entree. The shrimp and chicken combo was decent enough, if fairly standard and my dining-partners felt more-or-less the same about their own choices as well. What I would emphasize then is this: I think this restaurant is a very welcome addition to Portage's currently-lacking restaurant scene. For Asian food in general, the only truly good options are this and Cathay Garden, and the two do very, very different styles of food. That makes this (well...and World Buffet, but we're not even going to go there...) the only provider of sushi in Portage. I'd say that if you're really seeking knock-your-socks-off sushi, there's better options just 30 minutes to the south, but if you're seeking decent food and don't feel up for a trip, this is a great local offering. I'm not optimistic that it will be around for long (I would be very happy for these guys to prove me wrong, but even great restaurants tend not to survive long here...there are some notable exceptions though), but while you have it, Portage, eat your heart out

I've eaten from here twice now and continue to be impressed. The food is always good and the prices are reasonable. The fried squid is really good and I've tried several of the rolls. My favorite would be the sexy girl with my second being the dynamite. Can't wait to go back and try different ones.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
