I like Famous Dave's. Sauce is great. Love the ribs. I used to go the the downtown Chicago store a lot but that's long gone. Been here a couple of times while visiting the outlet malls. Good experience for us.

It has been awhile since we had been to Famous Daves, let's just say it will be a very, very long time before we return. The service was okay, not great, not bad, just okay. My wife got iced tea to drink and she took a sip and stated "this is horrible, it tastes old." I tried it and indeed it was either not fresh brewed as advertised or they need to clean the brewing tank extremely soon and extremely well. Dinner came and the corn on the cob was just to watery, barely tasted like corn on the cob. The brisket was burnt and very fatty not what I've come to expect from Famous Daves. The chicken was okay a little on the dry side but okay. The ribs were excellent and the only redeeming part of the meal.

Loaded margarita, just what I needed!!! Oh, good food too. The server was a bit slow and clueless? Maybe she was having a bad day or something, whatever

I was craving brisket so that was my reason for trying BBQ in Wisconsin. Sadly, I was disappointed. Being the end of the night, I obviously got the last of the meat. Three pieces where 90% fat. I usually order brisket because it's not as fatty, except tonight. Then it was lukewarm. Bummer. And super, super, dry. Like only able to swallow when chased with Pepsi dry. I was sad, and disappointed. I had high hopes, probably my first mistake. It wasn't all terrible though, the garlic mashed potatoes, of which I got two portions because one of their signature menu items, pineapple steaks, were gone for the night, were great. The corn bread was yummy. And I liked the variety of bbq sauce. But the dry beef, well that killed it all for me. That's all I've got, off to swat the pesky fly who is attempting to interrupt my review at the table. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Burnt the kiddos corn dogs to a crisp, brisket was so tough you had to cut it with a knife,

My wife's family and I went out to dinner on the night of July 3rd. We had an absolutely fantastic time, and were taken exceptionally well care of. Refills exactly when we needed them, a small sample of a side dish to decide if we liked it or not before we ordered it, and even a surprise happy birthday song for my father-in-law from the staff. Hands down one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. We'll both return and recommend because of how well Brent served us.

Since we're so far, we stopped at a place we recognized and could count on. I got the pulled chicken (amazing!!) with fries, hubs got the feast for one (which included ribs, chicken, baked beans, fries, coleslaw, corn on the cob, BBQ pork? and a corn muffin). He managed to eat it all. Yeah, I'm shocked too. In laws got the feast for two (which included beef briscuit, corn on the cob, baked beans, fries, cole slaw, ribs, I think a half a chicken and of course a few corn muffins). We also got the small BBQ nachos. Loved!!!! We left full and happy. Food coma for the commute home!

Famous Dave's use to be such a great place to eat, but the last few years it has really gone downhill, The portion sizes are very small, and the taste food is barely as good as a fast food restaurant, oh and the service is mediocre at best. The corn is wet and soggy, the brisket was over done and it wasn't up to BBQ standards. Not sure what happened, because I use to recommend it to others, but I'm sure like every place else, they're trying to cut corners. It will be a long time before I head there again.

Worst Famous Daves I've ever been to. This place had an extreme deficiency in customer service and my wife mentioned that years ago was very similar. So it very much is probably a training/management issue.

went to Daves for a sandwich and have their wonderful bread pudding dessert..very disappointed because they didn't have their famous dessert...I was looking forward to that all day... will be awhile before we return..couldn't understand why they didn't have the dessert since they are the only place to have it...food was okay

I have been to a few Famous Dave's & each time I go it is less enticing. The BBQ is ok and the environment (sticky floors & tables) and service will not bring me back.

I'm only giving them a 3 star review because the waitress was super nice. The ribs were just so so. The burnt ends were an insult to real burnt ends. Now if you called these saucy jerky nuggets, I'd be ok with that. Beans were tasty, good fries, and the cornbread muffin was good. But this is a BBQ joint, so their score reflects the meat. Sorry.

I like Famous Dave's food, and most often visit the branch in Pleasant Prairie. The staff is always friendly and the food delicious. My only complaint up until recently was that the restaurant is usually cold, even in the summer. They used to keep a fire in the fireplace, which made the temperature comfortable, but I haven't seen the fire lit in over a year. My biggest complaints are that they no longer serve drunken apples, the size of their portions has gone down, and they hardly ever have good specials/coupons anymore. We used to come in ever couple weeks, but now we only go ever few months. The size of the food portions aren't worth the money at full price.

Brisket was cold and service was average but the best part was the manager making the staff scrape gum from underneath the tables while myself and others were eating. And to make the situation worse the staff were commenting on how gross it was.

Decided to try Famous Dave's again tonight since we were in a hurry and our first choice had a longish wait. Big mistake. Service was better then last time, but slow. Then, about halfway through our dinner my husband picked up a piece of chicken and found a chicken neck. Ew! We even sent it to the kitchen for confirmation. The waiter didn't seem concerned at all. And while I realize necks are part of the chicken, it was very unappetizing. Never again.

Sad really...Famous Daves is supposed to be "famous" for their ribs. Both my husband and I ordered combo plates with ribs and we were disappointed. Ribs were tough and the rest of our food was OK but not great. Disappointing :(

This place stinks, no way around it! Service was the only positive here, the waitress was very friendly and good at her job. I wish I could remember her name. However, that was the only positive to the experience. When we arrived the booth across from us was filthy. Undoubtedly from a group of small children because there was stuff all over the floor. Mind you the restaurant was nowhere near packed or even busy so this should have been taken care of right away. 15 mins later it was still dirty, finally a server came and cleaned the table off, but did not address the floor at all. 15 mins later we finally stopped one of the hosts and asked them to have it addressed as it was pretty unappetizing to look at. Let me just say, I am not a fan of Famous Dave's food, I find it overpriced and bland for the most part but the rest of my party actually likes it so I will review what they said about the food as my stance is still the same. They all were unhappy with their food it was just not worth the money. Small portions and did not taste freshly prepared. It seemed pre-made and warmed up. Such a waste of money. Will definitely NOT be back!

Why is Dave famous? Not for his Beef Brisket!!! My good friend Paul recently took me here for my birthday and we had a fun time hanging out and talking. (we didn't need food to have a good time...thanks for my bday lunch Paul) The interior was perfect...I would call it modern rustic BBQ style. Our waitress was also really nice too but she was wearing someone else's name tag...I only know her as Shane!!! I've had some really great BBQ in my travels and Dave's will not be added to my list. Really what makes this place famous? I'm still trying to figure it out. We started with there 'New' Not'cho ordinary Nachos and I would call it interesting. I am not sure the flavors worked. It was kind of like a bad taco salad sitting on top of chips. It also came with tongs too...so it is more salad less nacho platter. I had to use a fork to eat it off my plate. They also have a nice combo special on the back of the menu. It is kind of hidden and it is better then paying full price for a combo platter. It is available every day 11 to 4pm. Look for it to save money!!! The two meat combo platter is 8.59. I chose the beef brisket and chicken wings. I asked the waitress about the chopped pork and her face didn't sell me on it. The beef brisket was probably the worse cut of meat ever. It just didn't even feel like beef in my mouth. It was so overly processed. The only thing that saved it was there sauces on the table. The Devil's Sauce was nice and spicy...not too hot but a nice zing. The buffalo wings were a little oily and tiny too. In fact, the buffalo sauce would not even stick to the wings because of all of the oil on them. We call that science...stuff slides off of oil including sauce. The sides...I had the Mac and cheese...it was good but not great. It had some potential...they added corn and jalapeño to it. The spice was nice but it was a little dry...I would have liked some more cheese oozing in there. It also came with corn on the Cobb but I didn't eat it because it looked dry...my kernels resembled raisins and that's not good. The best thing on my plate was the corn muffin. It was warm, moist on the inside and crunchy on top. It was the first thing I ate. I wish I would have had a basket of these. Also something happen to our order too. There was some commotion going on. I saw a look in my buddies face (he is in the food industry) but I left it alone because it was my birthday. Then two minutes later the real Shane..."the guy not wearing a badge because our waitress was wearing it"... told us that there was a problem and our food would be coming out. He also said he was sorry!!! Then 5 minutes later our Waitress "Not Really Shane" told us the same thing. I found it funny that they never offered anything for there screw up. Most places do something to make it right!!! My buddy made a few jokes about it and then they offered us desert. Not right away...it was after we got our check. In fact, I know my buddy he really didn't want anything for free...he wanted to just see the jester. In fact, he told the waitress to put the ice cream on the bill but she didn't. Famous? I still do not know why!!! If I was to compare Dave's to other BBQ I've had, then I would put Dave right at the bottom. It was not good food and I would probably never eat her again. For me...I figured it out...Dave is famous for being bad BBQ!!!

I don't recommend the soup. It's probably a Sysco product they reheat. The corn on the cob was meh...That said it's Famous Dave's. The ribs were good. The coleslaw and beans were too. I really like their Devil's Spit sauce. The service seemed slow. Friendly, but slow.

As one whose stompin' grounds was Chicago's South side, I can assure you that I have had some mighty fine barbecue experiences. So, fine that there were times I almost hurt myself sucking rib bones clean; sopping sauce with Wonder Bread in one hand and a rib in the other, chewing it together and washing it all down with red Koolade ... living large outta greaze-stained brown paper bag, my chin shiny with greaze under stark fluorescent light, and stained red with sauce and Koolade, and lov-ing-it! The only thing better than that is add a side of fried jumbo shrimps (double cocktail sauce, please)! I may no longer recall their names, but fond memories of barbecue days gone by may still bring a tear of joy to my eye! Anyway, Famous Dave's NOTHING like that. (We clear?) Put it this way: Say you are in the mood for cheesecake, but you are nowhere near having Eli's. But you got to have something so bad, you break down and call on Sarah Lee. She gets the job done, but next morning you both feel kinda dirty (and not in a good way), cheap, and you think to yourselves "Never again. It's just not worth it." You go home, shower for an hour, go to church and while you're there in a daze, you doubt if Jesus would want to LOOK at you, let alone love you ... I was there with Famous Dave's, people! ... and it was not pretty! My waiter was alright. He got the job done, but he didn't give unless I asked for it. (Hm! Sarah's brother?) It was an effort, folks! Sarah Lee, meet Famous Dave. You two are naturals! There's no shame to Dave's game, but I will hold out next time. I will look elsewhere, and I refuse to have to shower for an hour again. I want ribs that are smoked tender, not spiced and flavored to taste like smoke. I want ribs that are moist so the meat falls away from the bone, not breaks away from being cooked dry. You get my drift. Fine for some, but for others, not so much,

Famous Dave's was such a disappointment and really a let down. Terrible food, although moderately priced. We had a decent sized group and they waited to notify us that certain menu items were out after they were ordered. Typical barbecue joint ambiance. Will never go back.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I chose a BBQ chain over a local Kenosha family joint...and I'm even MORE embarrassed to admit that I enjoyed every bite of the carnage. Yes, the interior looks like a mix between Apple Bees, TGIF Fridays and LoneStar with the "antiques" decor but if you can get past that fact then you're good to go. Personally I was able to achieve this by chuckling at the worker wearing an all-black shirt reading "A rib a day keeps the vegans away." I was set on having the Dave's Famous Feast-For-Two (heck it should be called Feast-For-Three or -Four). Three of us dug into the upside-down garbage can lid piled with countless beans 'n slaw, corns-on-the-cobs, corn muffins, potatoey french fries, St. Louisian spare ribs, roasted chicken (a bit bland and dry if you ask me) and my favorite thing here, beef brisket. To make it even better, you can sample and personalize the flavors to your own tastebuds with the 8 Famous Daves BBQ Sauces on your table. I'm not a fan of spice so I LOOOVED the Sweet & Zesty Sauce (sounds like I'm describing myself...). Oh and feel free to get messy because your table comes prepared with a roll of paper towels and tons of wet wipes. I can't forget to mention how nasty the Bloody Marys are. Wayyy spicy and too much Worcester sauce--EW! This place is great for eating in with a big group on Sunday when places like the Barbeque Factory are closed.

Rough dinner. Started at the bar to wait for our table. The bar was about 2/3 full with two people back there and it took 5 minutes minutes for anyone to talk to us, let alone take an order. When we did order, she had to ask my wife what she wanted twice. She also had to ask which appetizer we wanted twice. Seated in the dining room: I had to stop the waiter to ask for another drink. He wasn't familiar with the seasonal on draft that I received at the bar. He didn't ask what size I wanted and brought a small one then offered to "fix it" when he sat it next to my large empty glass. Received the wrong dish when the food came out (ribs were wrong, sides were wrong). When the waiter asked about my missing food, he offered to go, "yell at Dave." When the correct dish did make it out, the BBQ beans were hard, undercooked. When told about the undercooked beans, they waiter did not offer a discount, replacement beans or a comp - He offered to offered to yell at Dave again. The waiter never stopped to offer additional drinks or fill any glasses. When leaving the hostess asked how things were to which I replied. "Eh, it has been better." She did not offer the manager, or any other solution - instead she said in a high pitched squeaky tone, "Ah, I'm sorry. Well have a good night." I'm not one to write a place off, but it will be tough to go back.

We visited Famous Dave's again (because Olive Garden was packed and we didn't want to wait 40 minutes with a baby in our group). Since there are few good restaurants close to the interstate, this is was the group pick. I was pleasantly surprised! We had 11 people in our group and walked right in and sat down. We were lucky because the place began to fill up as soon as we sat down. Our waiter, Josh, was amazing! Even though we had a big group, he was very attentive to our needs. The food was good (garlic mashed potatoes are killer!) and I was surprised at how good the chicken strips were! I wasn't very hungry so I split with my niece and thoroughly enjoyed their honey BBQ sauce on my strips. Everyone else thought their meals were adequate (you'd think the brisket would be amazing, but not so) but the waiter made the experience enjoyable. Thank you Josh!

I tried to go in here with an open mind. I love me some BBQ, but I am not big on chains so I was not sure what to expect from this place. We were coming back from a long drive from northern Wisconsin and we were just looking for a familiar place to grab some dinner. We were tired from the drive and we were just just not looking to get too adventurous in our dinner selection. Our waitress was really friendly but I think she may have been preoccupied with other things as she disappeared for long spells at a time and forgot or corn muffins. I thought the place was clean and well kept and made me feel comfortable. We ordered the meal for two and the "for two" part was an understatement. This was plenty of food for about 3-4 but I was happy because we got two meals out of it. They must have had most of the food ready as she brought it out very quickly. I was immediately thinking that this was going to be some old staged food being brought out to us, but I was happily mistaken. Everything was delicious. I have had better BBQ before but this was still very good and I most likely won't be returning to this location but I would definitely try to stop by into a closer location.

Best BBQ around, PERIOD! This place rocks. I love the food and friendly, casual atmosphere. You get LARGE portions, so come hungry and pig out (pun intended.) i recommend the brisket and pulled pork, but I have also had their St. Louis ribs and they're great two. The menu is loaded with choices and there is something for the whole family to enjoy. Also, if you have a large group, try their family platers -- great variety, GREAT BIG portions! Enjoy!

I'm not originally from the US and if I ever move back to my homeland there are a couple of things I will miss about Wisconsin. One is Culvers and the other is Famous Daves. Their food is the tastiest I've had anywhere in the area and fortunately they also have opened other locations across the country, so you're not limited to just the Kenosha one. Try their "Feast for Two". It's served to you on an upside down lid and comes with a wide selection of some classic BBQ food staples. And, if you're a dessert fan, their bread pudding is absolutely the best you'll have anywhere, guaranteed.
