Very Nice service,, great view of the lake,, However the food,,, as it says,, MEH, not good,, not bad,, just Meh,, not that it is cooked bad,, how they cook it is fine, but not what you would hope for, plenty of other Mexican places to eat, that actually are very good and appetizing,, this is just to feed the summer crowd,,,but, like I said, very nice service, and well, I would stop for a lake side drink,, Skip to the Food.

Food is a poor imitation of Mexican food (can you say Taco Bell?), but superb location on Pewaukee Lake.

Location is Great! Chips were straight from a bag along with the cheese dip, the guacamole was frozen Not fresh! If you drink tea don't ask for more then one refill THEY CHARGE YOU TWICE, come on it costs the restaurant no more then 10 cents for the refill REALLY charge me again. They Don't take AMEX ! I was entertaining a local customer of mine and he said he won't be back! Service was poor even though we were seated right next to the service window, which by the way was in the middle of the dining room instead of around the corner by the restrooms. My customer said that if they were going to make it they will have to reach out to the locals and right now he will NOT be back, and I will Not be back also! Nice try but you are missing the mark!

I go to Seesters all the time during the summer. Their steak tacos are awesome, and I also loved their al pastor burrito. The location is nice, too, with a great view of Pewaukee lake. The only downside is the price, though they do tend to have decent seasonal specials.

Great place, but the only waitress that ever seems to be there is the biggest drip in Waukesha County. Never smiles, is dour, and after seeing her about 100 times (literally) she still calls me "maam". You want to grab her by the collar and yell, "We're great tippers and easy customers, act like it!"

Not my favorite. Drinks and service were all good...but the food was lacking. I had the pork tamales. They were very dry and bland. No seasoning...nothing. Because of how dry they were, I have to believe they were frozen...not fresh. They were also very very small. Overal the atmosphere and location were good. Food needs some work.

Great location on the lakefront. Food is OK, but pretty pricey. Guessing they pay a small fortune in rent.

Food with a view ! Great margaritas ! About $11 for their best one , less syrup so it's good for those watching their waistline . The chips and cheese is just melted nacho cheese , but I still like it . They have amazing pico as well. Our chips were stale , so our waitress gave us new ones ! She was attentive and fun ! Best quesadilla ever ! I suggest getting one of their signature dishes , you can't go wrong ! Out door seating over looks the beach and lake ! Rite on the strip , so it has a lively vibe :)

OK Food, Ok drinks, a bit overpriced, but the View! I wandered in here after a day on the lake and thought dang I want a Margarita. The cocktail didn't disappoint. The food we chased it with was slow to come out and was a little bland with the shrimp in my tacos being pretty overcooked. I've had worse but they get a premium price here because of the location and given that I had higher expectations for the food. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that I was sitting outside in the sun on a beautiful day watching the beach and all the people I'd have probably been pretty upset, but in the end I just chalked it up to a lesson learned. I might stop in for a cocktail again from the beach

As others will say, the food is alright, the view of the beach is nice, but the prices are overpriced (typical of Lake Country). If you want a place to eat on main street in pewaukee/next to the beach, this is a decent spot. If you want Mexican there are a few more authentic and reasonably priced options within a few miles.

This is a fun place with a beautiful view of Pewaukee Lake and great outside patio. I love the portabella quesadilla. It's my favorite.

To be honest, I had very low expectations for a Mexican place located on Pewaukee beach. I figured their existence was assured due to a complete lack of competition and a beautiful view, so the food would be mediocre at best. For one dish, and one dish only (so far), I have to admit that I was wrong. The spicy grilled tilapia on corn tacos, loaded with the homemade green salsa for some extra kick, were delicious, if a bit messy. Service was excellent as well. I opted not to explore the drink menu, so I can't comment on that. My expectations are again low. A friend of mine confirmed that the drinks are unexceptional and overpriced, which isn't surprising considering their location.

Mexican food place and no chips and salsa?? Over priced even for the lake area. Sorry but this is a poor value and not very pleasant. Cannot recommend for eating a meal.

I've always thought Mexican restaurants would be smart to charge a couple bucks for their chips and salsa but Seester's takes that concept to the extreme. $8.25 for a small basket of chips, half a cup of pico and half a cup of guac. We asked for a few more chips and were charged another $1.50. The food is mediocre at best, the restaurant is small and loud. If you want a nice view of the lake and you aren't in search of good Mexican food or decent value, this is your place, otherwise look elsewhere.

4 stars for scenery and views of the lake. Love summertime outdoor seating. Coronaritas were excellent. 2 stars for price. Wife and I had 3 drinks total and a meal each. After tip $76. Will definitely go back but maybe for just drinks.

How about a free basket of chips and salsa. My GF loves this place. The view and ambiance is great. My dog loves the ability the ability to dine outside with us.

Meh.... Overpriced. I was disappointed with the fish tacos. I love good fish tacos which I eat often at home in CA. I was dubious but they assured me their fish tacos could compete w/ authentic pacific coast / california fish tacos. Complete fail!!! So the fish was actually tasty, the little pieces that I could find. My tacos were heavily loaded with salty cheese - like 3/4 of the taco was cheese. Yuck! Then sauce on top. It tasted like a spicy salad dressing smothering the cheese, the 1 cilantro leaf and the speck of fish.

Over priced. Wouldn't have minded that if food was good, but it leaves lot to be desired for. Had 2 taco steak Tacos. $8 later, I wonder if anything was served. Oh well.

I like it in the summer but itnis definitely OVER priced! Lunch for two with alcohol can easily be 45 to 50 bucks! And you are getting regular none fancy Mexican American food.

The good news is that there is a terrific view of a Pewaukee Lake sunset. The bad news is that you will pay through the nose for it. El Rey grocery store has much better Mexican food for about 1/4th of what you'll pay here. A margarita attesting to be made with fresh lime juice and Patron, is $11 and is a whopping 4 ounces or so. I'm passionate about Margaritas and I challenge whether that was fresh lime juice. EACH taco is around $6 and is served with a handful of store-bought chips and a tiny portion of pico de gallo. Don't be looking for any complimentary chips and salsa, there won't be any. Want some rice and beans with that? Don't be ridiculous! This place has potential but sadly they choose to capitalize on the location by charging ridiculous prices for very mediocre food in both quality and quantity. But hey, starting in October there will be happy hour from 4-6! A whole $1 off! A buck off of a 4 oz $11 margarita makes it only outrageously overpriced as compared to unconscionable.

The food here was decent, although a bit pricy. The margarita was outstanding, and I don't mind paying for outstanding. The service was good but the restaurant was a little crammed. I will stop back here again for drinks.

Seester's is okay Mexican fare, with a great view of the beach on Pewaukee Lake- albeit definitely overpriced. The inside is decorated nicely with interesting Mexican art and standard pieces to take you back to Margaritaville. Inside seating is limited, but there are a few prime tables outside, during summer. Our young waitress was great and on top of the daily specials. We stopped in on a Friday and I got the Friday Fish Tacos Special- which was a spicy tilapia taco. It was good. My son liked his Steak tacos, although he did want the Authentic Steak Taco, and received the normal kind. They were still good. Prices could come down. $2.50 for a can of Coke? Also- a can? Get a fountain, and refill it if you're going to charge that much. Also, food is generally overpriced, but no major complaints besides that.

We took a gamble, and unfortunately didn't pass our moderate standards. Limited menu, average ingredients, serving soda by the can, and charging by the can ....... Seriously........ The Burritos were ok; fish tacos, my daughter liked them; the beef taco's were horrible, the beef was &'*^*+#%^......... Yup that bad. The nachos and cheese ( not queso, friggin store bought cheese sauce) tasted like they came from any supermarket, the chips were horrible.. The wait staff were nice and friendly, the location is superb, pity the food wasn't as nice as the location. Ain't going back anytime soon.

  • Trudy B.

Chips and salsa were very average, house margarita wasn't bad. I had the BBQ quesadilla it was pretty good. The waitstaff could have been more attentive. Very cramped inside the restaurant. Not a good place to go with a large group. Not sure if I will return?

The shrimp avocado tacos are fantastic. $14.95 price isn't. No rice, no beans, nothing but two small tacos 6 shrimp total. Not to mention a 40 minute wait for it. Their clientele must consist of first timers only. Nobody in their right mind would go back.

My husband and I were visiting family in WI and decided to go here because of the pretty area and view. We ordered two steak tacos each (which were on lunch special for $2). They were pretty good, plus they were bigger than expected. So with chips and salsa (meh) we got full and only ate one taco and wanted to take the other one home to eat later. A normal restaurant gives you a to-go box, never a big deal... HOWEVER, the waitress told us we couldn't! We asked her why, and she said the owner does not want anyone taking food home! Are you kidding me!?! I can't take my ONE TACO home that I paid for?! One taco. Simply ridiculous. Another thing that's bad about this place is the outside seating. There are about 20-30 tables out there and only 2 umbrellas. Why? I don't know. We ate inside, but while we were there it started pouring so everyone who was outside came in and had to squeeze into places they should never squeeze into. Poor management. Waitress was nice, but poor thing, she has to tell everyone they can't take home their leftovers because her boss is a stickler. NEVER going back here.

If you want very basic Mexican food that at least provides a view of the beach head to this place. They simply have Burritos and tacos none of which were very tasty whatsoever and quite bland. Else for a more authentic and tasty experience (sans outdoor view) head to Casa Tequila instead. Much larger menu selection and oh so good!

We love this place! Awesome view, fantastic margaritas, delicious fish tacos and enchiladas.

Food here is alright; a bit overpriced for what you get though. $5 for a small basket of chips and a small serving of guac. Really? It is small and pretty cramped: probably a fire hazard actually. The view is beautiful on the patio and the margaritas are slamming. Lots of young people working there and the hostess was nice enough to hold a good view table outside when one was available. Overall, go for the margaritas and maybe some food if you need to soak up the liquor.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
