Food: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 3 stars (sweet waitress, slow service. 30 min to get our appetizers) Stopped over here on a business trip, and yelped for an hour before finally deciding on this place. I have to say, the bright "IMMEDIATE SEATING" sign worried us. But the inside was more appealing. It's extremely spacious and could hold about 200 people. The waitresses are really sweet but don't know much about beer so ask someone else. Dishes we ordered: Charcuterie plate. Best dish of the night. The cheeses also were on point, especially the creamy one in the middle. Margherita pizza: eh. Cheese falls off. We asked for red pepper flakes, but those were so stale/tasteless. Didn't know that was possible Calzone: too bready but otherwise yummy Truffle Mac and cheese: I added sausage to this expecting them to dice it up but they just put one huge fat link on top. Which is fine I guess. Pretty good but too heavy. Enough to share among THREE people. Meat and Veggie Lasagna: Yes, you can ask them to mix the two! pretty decent Minestrone soup: I thought it was on the salty side but my buddy thought it was just right.

Wow! We visit Oshkosh once a year and found this restaurant last year. The food is excellent, portions huge, service superlative. We love the focaccia bread and olive oil dip, the soups are great and the entrees won't disappoint. My wife and I shared the Pasta Trio and still took half of it home.

First visit today and I have to say - service, atmosphere and food were very amazing! I got the Bacon Jam Scallops with caramelized onions and I'm going to be getting it again next visit. Best scallops I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. Keep up the great work :)

Steak, seafood and pasta are all delicious. My colleague and I tried all three and were impressed with the food and the service. Highly recommended an affordable price is well.

One of the few places we go to often that always has excellent service and great food. Of the dozen or so times I've been they have always provided a good meal.

Found a free beer coupon in an EAA Airventure magazine & decided to give it a try. It's located in a strip mall, but the interior seems fancier than the outside. Was kind of worried that we were very under-dressed, but no one seemed to notice. Dusty was our server. She was fantastic! Kept everything refilled and was knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the chicken tetrazzini. It was fabulous! I was very sad that I couldn't take my leftovers with me because we were staying in the dorms for the Airventure with no refrigerators. Definitely worth braving the construction & the goofy traffic round-abouts to get there!

Easily the best pizza in Oshkosh! Love their unique twists on pizza as well as the traditional oven fired pizzas. Excellent Italian Nachos and the Bruschetta is to die for!

I have had both pretty good and great food here. It really depends on what you order. The atmosphere is casual and fun and we have enjoyed our visits.

First time here First impression, very nice. Very clean, soft jazz playing over the sound system (loud enough to hear, soft enough to converse) My waitress, Celya, was fabulous. Food: Lentil Soup - Excellent Shrimp Tetrazzini - Very Good Lemon Mixed Berry Cheesecake - Perhaps the best piece of cheesecake I've ever had. Coffee - Excellent This is definitely a place I will dine again at.

Delicious food, great service. The waiter even refused to serve alcohol to the (adult, of age) customer at our table who didn't bring his ID. Impressive. (Who doesn't bring their ID everywhere?)

This is the restaurant I think of when I want Italian in Oshkosh. I've never had a bad experience. The calamari is very good and the food tastes pretty good overall. Highly recommend!

This place was pretty amazing. I've been all over the U.S and I've had better Italian, but the entire experience made up for it. The place was pretty busy to begin with, but I was able to call and still reserve for a party of 15(8 adults, 7 children).. Our waitress was awesome, always getting us refills, making sure we had bread, and basically stayed on top of her game w/o being too annoying. Considering we had 7 children I give her a lot of credit! To top it off the food was great, absolutely no complaints from anyone in our party. I highly recommend this place and if I were ever in the neighborhood I'd definitely would come back.

Good food and a good price. The lunch prices range from $9 to $12 for lunch and the pasta portions don't leave you hungry afterwards. They also start you off with complimentary bread. I would definitely recommend this to people looking for a good Italian restaurant!

I can't decide how I feel about Benvenuto's. It was one of the first restaurants I tried in Oshkosh, and I've had a couple of nice meals here. However, there was an incident with some severely over-cooked steaks (along with a hefty wait), and lately I just haven't been excited about going here. Especially if you're trying to do low carb (yes, I just said low carb at an Italian restaurant -- so take my opinion with a grain of salt!), there's not a lot of choices on the menu that don't involve pizza or pasta. We stopped in for a drink at the bar after a movie though, and my Italian wedding cake martini was excellent, and despite arriving at 9:15 (they close at ten), the bartender didn't try to push us out before they closed, even mentioning last call to us so we could order another round, pay up, etc. Overall, I guess Benvenuto's is ok, but it's not a place I go to regularly, except out of occasional convenience (i.e. proximity to the movie theater).

Let's start with the Sangria. Most of my reviews do. It was ok. Kinda weird served in a beer mug, but that doesn't change the flavor. It wasn't busy at all on a Sunday night so I don't think reservations are necessary. I ordered the spicy penne but asked if they could bake it with cheese. They were accommodating and brought it out shortly. The dish was very, very good. The sausage, which was listed as Anduille, was not, however, it was delicious. The right amount of spice. The salad was average as well as the bread they brought to the table. Ordered dessert, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Day Dream, and it was good. Was hoping for homemade. Overall, 3 stars but that entree was killer, so bumped it up to 4. It made the list of regular stops when in the Oshkosh area.

This was an amazing find. Great place to eat Italian. First of all they have a great place to wait for your table. The lounge chairs are large and comfy. Up by the bar, and sports playing on the TV. Score! We were seated, and the first thing we noticed is that the tables are large, and the lights are not so dim that you can't see the menu. Another Score! You don't have to bump elbows with others at your table. I had the Lasagne and my wife had the specialty pizza, which was Asparagus and chicken with an Alfredo sauce. Let me start with the Lasagne. Huge portion. Comes in a large dish, and piled with cheese, and sauce, and stuffed with meat. It was delicious! I loved it. The Pizza was equally yummy. Crust was thin, but not too thin. Alfredo sauce was great. And the Asparagus added a great touch. It could have been cut into smaller pieces (the Asparagus, that is), to make eating it easier, but all-in-all we loved it. Next time we are in Oshkosh we will be back.

Awesome choice during Airventure. Wonderful service and good meal for the price. I had the tortellini and it was great. A few from my party had the mushroom ravioli and highly recommended it.

Benvenuto's is a lovely Italian Restaurant /Grill. It has a warmth to it.. if you will a glow! A great menu which includes soups and salads, chicken entrees, fresh seafood entrees, great wood fired pizzas and phenominal pasta dishes. Definitely my four star rating is attributed to the food we ordered which was tremendous, starting with the warm herb bread served with olive oil and a thyme seasoning blend. There were a few issues however.. This restaurant was freezing! and every booth had a vent over it blasting really frigid air on everyone.. My son Nick was so cold that he asked our server Jodie to please turn it down..Jodie addressed it with her manager.. Long story short we were still freezing throughout our meal! And.. we came in about 4pm.. there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant.. it was not busy at all.. However our server Jodie disappeared for much longer than the few minutes she said she would give us to decide. There were 2 other servers there who were on top of their game.. but, our server seemed to be out of it today. And.. we had a 50% discount off our meal with a coupon that we had and we told our server about it.. she said it would be applied to our total check. It wasn't and my son Nick's Calzone was also priced $1.50 over the menu price. So.. if you find yourself in Oshkosh craving some really great Italian Food this is definitely a place to check out. And hopefully you will get one of the good servers who can recite the daily specials to you without reading them off a notepad! Benvenuto's.. go for the food.. Wish I could say more than that! I can't...

Great stop for dinner. Great to see a young well trained staff who actually embrace the art of hospitality. Unfortunately we don't see it often enough these days. Food was great. Price was good value. But it was the service that exceeded expectations. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

A good place to get some Italian cuisine in Oshkosh! Upon entering we were greeted and immediately seated although we did go early so I can't really speak to if there is normally a wait or not and we did have our first experience mid-week evening for dinner. The environment of the restaurant seems very warm and elegant with a "casual" attitude if that makes sense. After being seated we were greeted by our server with her writing her name on the paper that covered the table, somewhat like a giant placemat. We actually took advantage of this space and decided we would color on the paper ourselves while waiting for our food. We first ordered the spinach artichoke dip (which comes at a very good portion, price seems high at first but after they brought it I thought it was a more than fair price) and also had beer cheese soup (very good). You also get complimentary bread with olive oil and a spice mix which was very good. We ordered pizza, ravioli, and chicken strips for our dinners. The pizza, to be perfectly honest, was not my favorite sauce on a pizza. Don't get me wrong, it was good, just not our particular taste. The ravioli was very good and was a different sauce than the pizza, which we preferred, The chicken was also very good. The dinner was concluded with an assortment of desserts since we wanted to try a few different ones. The cannoli, salted caramel cheesecake, and tiramisu were all very good. The cannoli was an especially good treat as many try to get it right but fall short. The cannoli here does not disappoint at all. The service throughout the meal was excellent! I recommend this place and will certainly return to try other dishes!

Good food, but high prices. Maybe that's just an out of state opinion, but dinner for two was over $50 and no adult beverages were consumed. Perhaps that's normal for a restaurant here, but I consider it on the pricy side for an average weeknight meal.

ok, picture it---driven 350 miles, for work, on a wednesday, after five hours of meetings, in november, snowing, soaking wet feet, you pull into your hotel and just want some soup....and maybe a pizza?? So you yelp, and find a little italian place--who delivers....both on quality and taste. Being a member of the east coast tribe, i have begun to tolerate the mid-west's so-called stuff (even the thin, has no one heard of a brick oven? yet i digress)...a bit too cheesey, i took some scoops off. (yes scoops) the soup OUTSTANDING...in fairness, i was craving it, so my palate was welcoming...and the pb pie (yes I ate soup, two slices of pizza and a whole dessert, i am not ashamed!) if ever in oshkosh, wouldn't hesitate to stop by.

Also need to add that every Saturday they make their philly cheese steak soup and if given one food choice to live on the rest of my life, this would be it! The best ever, period.

If you go here, you NEED to have the Italian Nachos. Best thing I have EVER eaten in my life. I crave this dish like no other on earth. The truffle mac and cheese is also fantastic, as is the salmon BLT. My husband and I love their pizza as well. The best thing is that they deliver in Oshkosh. Great food!

Lots of choices on menu. Most likely I will go back to try a few more! Today I had shrimp tetrazzini, a cup of clam chowder and iced tea. Everything was well prepared and well presented but nothing was really remarkable. I enjoyed the food, but it was a bit pricey to make this a regular lunch spot. (about $20... Which included tip) The pizza at the table next to me look very good. I may give that a try next time.

Not good at all. I had the seafood pasta and the scallops weren't cooked all the way. Grossed me out and couldn't eat anymore. The bred was like dough with nothing but seasoning on it.

Thought I would try this place out after reading some reviews. Everyone was right on. The service was great and the place is comfortable. Everything tasted great from the warm focaccia to the minestrone and the main dish, roasted garlic shrimp fettichini was fantastic. I'm passing through the area but would definitely come back.

Was impressed with the presentation and flavors of the chicken salad I ordered for lunch. The decor was relaxing, and our booth was generous and spacious. The atmosphere was cordial and relaxing and waitstaff were pleasant and attentive. It was a pleasant dining experience.

I've been here before and thought the place was pretty decent. Every time I go back it seems to get worse and worse. They used to have an awesome seafood dish that I used to get every time I went. It had mussels, shrimp, crab, and scallops in it. Maybe some of you know what I'm referring to, but it's no longer on the menu. They keep taking things off the menu and everything seems like it's the same dish. Ex. Choice of pasta, choice of meat, topped with alfredo sauce. Why make 5 different dishes if they're all going to end up tasting the same? Tonight I got the seafood scampi capellini. The dish smelled fishy, not what fresh seafood should smell like. It also tasted fishy as well and you could tell the shrimp and the scallops weren't fresh. I don't expect them to be straight from the ocean, but I expect them them to have good texture, taste, and smell. Found neither with this dish. It cost me 20 bucks for very mediocre food. Not worth the money. All in all just get chicken alfredo or something with Italian sausage. It's a bit pricey, and you're basically paying for noodles in cheese sauce.

While not amazing, this was solid for the area and likely one of the better choices since it wasn't a major national bland chain. Decent atmosphere, and surprisingly pleasant food - pasta was overdone as it is almost universally, but everyone seemed pretty pleased overall. Drinks were popular with the group I dined with, but they might've just been lushes, too. Didn't try desserts, but this is a place I'd turn to again if I needed dinner around here. Lots of groups and locals happily dining away.

This puts Olive Garden on the back burner, from Chicken Tetrazini, Smothered Haddock to sandwiches and Pizza to die for please check it out you won't regret it. Beautiful inside and not to mention out of this world appietisers, wine, and 23 oz beers you can dine in the seating area or eat in the Bar Area with Granite counters, but very casual too, very nice flat screen tv's specials for Packer games the list goes on and on. No I do not nor have I ever worked there or related to anyone here , just plan good.

The sister to Benvenuto's in Beaver Dam. Same great taste, WAY COOLER design. When you walk in this restaurant feels nothing like Oshkosh. It seems more urban. Camo jackets and checkered flags would not look good here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
