We've had the thin crust pizza twice, we ate there the first time and did take out the second. My wife and I really liked the pizza; very good, heavy on the cheese. The Italian combo (Italian beef sandwich with Italian sausage) was just OK. The bread was too light and disintegrated under the weight of the meat once the au jus soaked in. If you are in the mood for a moderately seasoned sandwich and have a fork you'll be OK, if you were looking for your Chicago beef fix then I think you'll be disappointed. I would agree with the other reviewers that the food a long time to arrive; the servers themselves are very friendly but the food seemed to take forever. My kids even commented that they were "not sure our food will ever come". We will definitely be getting pizza here often, to go of course. Cash or check only. Update: Romano's is now our favorite pizza place, when we want a treat I happily make the 20 minute drive.

Pretty good thin crust for a Wisconsin bar. Crust flavor : 6/10, sauce flavor : 5/10, quality of toppings : 5/10. Kind of a run down bar physically but good, friendly service.

Ordered from here a few times, the last time the lady on the phone was so ignorant and rude I'd starve before going here or ordering anything from them. Not to mention the good was terrible!

When will I learn? I've been here three times over the last couple of years and same act......pizza a little above average but service is POOR! We had kids so stuck out the hour wait for a thin crust pizza?! Ordered second round of beer and took 15 minutes with 10 people in whole place. Finally, place is starting to show lack of upkeep and not exactly sparkling clean.

Pizza is good, but the service is just so consistently poor that this place is not worth it. If you just want to sit at the bar and hammer it, then this place is as good as any. If you are looking for a decent sit down pizza place, skip this one.

I agree, pizza is very good, especially the deep dish. Service can sometimes be slow, but it is probably because they are busy.

Love the pizza. Haven't had much else there. It's a great restaurant that is a Northwoods restaurant.

Stopped at Romano's for thin crust pizza. We got there for an early supper, about 4:30. Service was good and pizza was delicious.

Romano's pizza in Rome Wisconsin has one of the better thin crust pizzas anywhere. They remind me a lot of the pizzaria pizzas growing up in the 50s and 60s. Yes, the service is quite slow as the servers are usually the bartenders too. But the pizza is well worth the wait. Even the munchie basket and cheese bread was quite good. We will definitely be back.

Pizza was just ok--crust was soggy--no color on the bottom at all! Burger fell apart when trying to eat, tough with no beef flavour--was supposed to be hand patted but doubt that! Very Good onion rings but homemade fries were soggy--left 80% of the meal and our server thought it was humorous!! Have had good pizzas there in the past but from now one will just go into Wisc Rapids and make another choice I see why they don't take credit cards--payments would be stopped

Very slow service. We had to return to bar to get our own drinks as our waitress never checked back on us. We ordered a pizza & clam strips as an appitizer. She said strips would be right up. After waiting over a half hour and as above mentioned - getting our own drink refills at bar, the waitress walked over and said I'll be bringing the pizza and clam strips over soon. We replied that we would like to cancel the order of clam strips, the wait was much too long already. She said, "yeeeaah, I think it's too late for that." Needless to say, service was bad. Very bad. We won't ever be dining in again but may get take out some night. The pizza was good, clam strips were pretty good as well --- they were served with ranch when we asked for marinara. She never came back for us to her though. All in all, good food. Bad service. Get your order to go.

Everyone knows when you go to Wisconsin, you got to get pizza, this is a well known fact, because you can't touch their cheese. This place is in the middle of the wilderness, but damn is it good. Im going to drive here at least couple times of year to satisfy my thin crust pizza craving. That's right. Thin Crust! My family and I went here after fishing in Lake Nekoosa, and its a locals place totally, it's built like a log cabin and has a small bar and an indoor dining area, very casual like, you can see everyone here knows each other. We got a basket of wings and a thin crust pepperoni pizza. The wings were out of this frickin world, no joke! They were crispy, juicy, and finger lickin good. They werent too deep fried or oily which I liked. The ranch complimented it evn more, very rich and flavorful, you can taste the garlic in it! Now, the pizza. Wow. This pizza was like a waterfall of fresh cheese and bubbled over the edges. Literally, the pepperoni was swimming in the creamy mozzarella. Here in Wisconsin, they do not skimp out on cheese and it is as fresh as you can get. The mozzarella was on a whole different ball game. The pepperoni was delicious and covered in italian seasonings like oregano, absolutely mouthwatering. The crust was paperthin and basically non existent! But it was great. Gosh was it great, I am planning to go on more fishing trips just to go back to this local hole in the wall.

I grew up in Brooklyn, and lived in Chicago for four years. I love pizza, just about any NYC pizza, and only good Chicago Pizza. Romano's has good Chicago pizza. They have excellent deep dish pizza if you are not in a hurry. If you are not in the mood for pizza, try an Italian Beef, or Italian sausage or have both in the Combo. The Romano's are from Chicago and they know what they are doing. Just remember it is not a fancy restaurant, it is your typical Wisconsin tavern. Romano's is located on a beautiful lakeside spot named Devil's elbow. Go slow around the curve marked 15 mph. It is called Devil's elbow for a reason.
