Very good food. A good variety of craft and national brews. The service was fast and the servers were courteous. Great place to eat when you don't want to leave the hotel. I had the desert fire pasta one night and the Il Primo pizza another night. Both were very good. The bacon wrapped stuffed Jalapeños were a good appetizer too.

I gave this a poor review 2 years ago. Not sure if they got new chefs and managent.....Now, I've dined there 2 times this month. The food has improved. ..much tastier, meat seems fresh and juicy, the chicken wings are very good. Salad has style, the mac n cheese with lobster is excellent, walleye entree is juicy and tasty. I will definitly go there again!

We swam in the morning at the Grand Lodge and stopped at the Green Mill for lunch on a Sunday at about 11:15. The waitstaff was really friendly and most of them came over to check out our 6 month old. I felt like a simple burger, which was not on the menu. I asked the server and she was awesome about getting me what I wanted. My husband ordered the chicken stir fry salad and said it was really good. My burger was made just the way I like it. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that the prices were a little high for the area.

Normally not bad but when you order they don't seem to listen to specialty orders or the kitchen doesn't. Ordered a salad with dressing on the side, guess what? Salad covered in dressing.

The St. Paul location was one of the best pizza joints to frequent for a slice and a couple of pints for many years. I was taken by surprise to see Green Mill outside of Minnesota...and was excited to have it again. Although it ain't what it used to be...it was still the best place we ate while staying here. I have never ordered anything outside of the Pescara pizzas. As usual, it was very good. It's not New York, it's not Chicago, it's not some foo foo trendy pizza either. It's just it's own thing...and it's good! I also had the pleasure of trying some of the other dishes on the menu. The lobster-mac...yum! However, this is not a dish anybody should order. This should only come as a side dish. If I had to guess, this dish without any sides was over 3000 calories. Best thing I had while here, was their walleye tacos. I had been craving walleye ever since I stepped off the plane. These were not disappointing...very nice! *Lastly, I found service throughout the area reflecting an "I'm stuck in Wausau" attitude, with the exception of Addy (sp?) at the Green Mill. Thanks Addy! Try: Sausage and Mushroom Pescara Pizza Avoid: Eating a whole order of the Lobster-Mac (Share that stuff)

Staying at the hotel next door thought I tried this Green Mill. Ordered the Italian Sausage Trottole. Great food!

Good service but horrific salad. Waitress was nice. Got a salad with grilled chicken breast. Salad was partially wilted and the chicken breast was the driest I've ever eaten except for a nasty Chinese restaurant. I couldn't even chew it. It was like bark. It was either leftover and reheated or way overlooked. Won't be going back ever.

Eat here sometimes when I stay in the hotel. Never anything bad which is a good thing! Really like the onion rings but way too many for one person... which they offered a 1/2 order. Favorite meal is the 3 chesse and spinach pasta. Burgers and sandwiches are just average. Usually sit at the bar... not much personality behind the bar. If your lucky, because there are a lots travelers eating there, you can meet some interesting people that will talk. Otherwise watch the game on TV!

My family and I went to the Wausau location for my sister-in-laws birthday, which happens to fall on st. patty's day. Being St.Patty's day I had a hankering for corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef was drier than cheap beef jerky, the cabbage was waaayyy uncooked, and I watched our plates sit under the warmer for a good 20 minutes before the waiter brought it over. It also took a good hour + to get any of our orders to begin with and there was only 2 other tables seated in the whole place! My brother's m-i-l ordered a medium-rare steak that came out very well done and needed to be sent back. I will say my father enjoyed his pizza and the kids enjoyed their meals. I don't know if the bad service and food was due to it being so late in the evening, it was 8:30, they close at 11:00. Or because the colleges kids working were ready to get celebrate the holiday and stopped caring about service after 7. I did write the company to complain and received a gift card for the inconvenience, the HR was very apologetic and friendly. Hopefully they went into this particular location and did a retraining of their employees.

In town on business, and did not expect the EXCELLENT FOOD and EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE I received- I had the walleye pan fried- AMAZING! And the salad, all sides were top notch! Not sure what's up with all the negative reviews- I'd say as of 2014-01-21- DEFINITELY give them another try!

I've eaten at the Hudson wi location and the food was quite good. Not so tonight. I ordered the Jamaican mango walleye. It came out overcooked with no jerk seasoning at all. It was incredibly salty as well and with ** no** mango salsa! When I asked my server if this was right he said yeah. I asked where the salsa was and he brought me a cup of regular tomato salsa and told me that he did order the wrong entree and the only difference was the salsa went on top. I said ok but where is the mango and where is the jerk seasoning? He shrugged and walked away. I travel a lot and decided I had to speak to a manager based on the terrible service and food. She was very polite and accommodating. Doesn't erase the salty overcooked fish taste in my mouth though. I will visit another location with my gift card, and next time, I won't pay at all.

The sweet potato fries had no taste which is abnormally peculiar for a sweet potato. They came with a runny tangy overpowering dill dip. The combination did not enhance the flavor of the other. The chicken nachos were actually pretty good and filling. I liked the amount of chicken and ratio of toppings. The server was friendly and the staff got along real well so that made it a comfortable atmosphere. i think this has something to do with being in Wisconsin. People are generally pretty down to earth here. The hot chocolate was much too sweet and tasted . . .processed and overly average. This restaurant was across from our hotel and thereby super conenient after spending the day at the waterpark.

"Legendary" That pretty much sums this place up. No, but seriously, this place's pizza boxes describe its own pizza as "legendary". Considering that several Chicagoans saw this pizza box laying out in the hall of the Holiday Inn that we were staying at in the middle of Wausaw, WI, the idea that Green Mill's pizza was legendary was laughable. Literally. We laughed out loud about it. Our first real encounter with the Green Mill was the next morning for breakfast. With it being directly connected to the hotel, it's an incredibly convenient place to eat, especially when its -15 degrees outside. The breakfast menu was pretty limited, but what everyone ordered was serviceable. Our waiter screwed up my bill twice at the end, but considering we broke up our tap into approximately 7 different bills, I can't really blame him. The second encounter came that night after a long day of skiing. We were all very tired and very sore, but I was determined to evaluate this pizza. After we were all seated and given a menu, we were all surprised by the amount of options this place had. According to another Yelp review, this is a chain restaurant, but with everyone being from Chicago, we had no idea. Now, everyone was wavering from their original pizza plans. "So many other options," they said. "Legendary pizza," I retorted. Eventually, most of them caved, though there was a calzone and salad thrown in there (idiots). In the end, there were 4 specialty pizzas ordered, mine being the "MVP". Now, as a Cubs fan, the prospect of eating a pizza in the middle of Wisconsin that's named for a Canadian baseball player that plays for the Minnesota Twins didn't sit quite right with me... but it had pepperoni and Canadian Bacon. Sold. The pizzas took a long time to get to the table, but when they did, we were all satisfied with what we had gotten. I doubt I'll ever be back to a Green Mill soon, considering I almost got murdered during that Bear-Packers game, but I would go back if they ever expanded into a real city like Chicago. I don't know if I just had the bar set really, really low, but the pizza was good. But "legendary"? That's cute, Green Mill.

This is a chain restaurant and so I have different standards and expectations when I enter. It certainly is better than Perkins in my opinion. If I had to rate it on the same scale as The Wright Place on Sixth I would only give it 3 stars. I've eaten there a number of times. Their walleye dinner is quite good. On 10/24 we tried it again after a trip to Chicago. The staff, as usual, is friendly and fairly attentive. It has a relaxed atmosphere plus it was a little less noisy than other times we have been there. I was in the mood for something different than my usual. I had their 4 cheese bacon burger ($10.49) which is served on a Ciabatta roll. It was quite good. They five a lot of (good) fries with that (which is one side option.) I tasted my wife's Bangkok Chicken Salad which was good. My wife commented that it did not taste as good as its picture looked on the menu. The price: $8.99.

Hubs and I ordered the Chicken Pot Stickers for appetizer. Basically we got 6 undercooked dumplings. We sent them back for a little extra time in the pan and they got it right on the second batch. The bottoms were brown and crispy and the chicken filling was very tasty. I ordered the gyro and Hubs the bacon cheeseburger with a side of homemade potato chips. The menu description of the gryo left me salivating (spicy beef and lamb meat piled high on warm fluffy pita bread and homemade sauce....)What I received was the same meat (Kronos) you buy in the grocery store!! 6 slices of barely warmed meat yet they took the time to put grill marks on the top slice, topped with chopped onion, tomato and cuke. The sauce was a chunky mess with no flavor. This might have been acceptable if they were charging $4.99 but they have the audacity to charge $9.99!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubs liked his burger just fine but the chips were awful. I've had really excellent chips at The Vine in Grayslake, Il and these paled in comparison. Very dark brown on the edges but still soft in the middle. YUCK. The pizza looked killer however so we may give it a try sometime.

Food all looked great it smelled great walking through the restaurant to my table. I ordered a salad with chicken and blackberrys with house dressing. It was excellent! I added a bowl of Wisconsin Beer Cheese soup which was also excellent. Meal came with fresh bread and butter.
