Love The Pines! Their popover and soup lunch special is great, and dinners are good and portions are huge. Chocolate Shoppe ice cream (Wisconsin's own) is the best around, and my kids love the homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches. They also now sell "Sweetie Pines" cookies and other treats at places around Mercer, and they are delish!

Our family travels to this area annually, as many Chicagoans who hate Chicago tend to do. The Pines was a back up plan, as our original destination was too busy, and now this establishment has become THE plan. Kid friendly. Great food. Great service. Even the other customers are fun! The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is that the miniature golf, while challenging and very fun, was in a state of disrepair. I'm not sure if it was because we were there early in the season though, so I am hopeful that when we return in a few weeks (!!!!!) it will be in better shape. Why can't Chicago be more like Mercer?

Growing up, my grandparents lived in Mercer. The Pines is a MUST if you are staying here of passing by. The German food is to die for, and although the mini golf is old, it is still fun. The owner will remember you, as he remembered me after not visiting for 12 years! The looney bread is delicious, and be sure to get some ice cream!

The mini golf is no more but the German entries are really great comfort food!! You may have a wait as it is quite small but a very nice spot, It is very very casual perfect for the northwoods, Give it a try!!

Went back to hear the band and celebrate Octoberfest ( in September) even tho it was cold. They had a nice big bond fire going and people sat around. Now to the food. A big platter of pork which should have been kept warm because with a cold bun was not an enjoyable sandwich. On the $10 dinners it was pretty stingy on the red cabbage and potato salad. Should improve the beer garden menu for next summer. Add a few chips and a pickle to the sandwiches and add a few more choices. Looking forward to the music next summer.

Awesome outdoor area with a great bar and they regularly have live music. The German food is authentic and delicious. Service has always been great and we have had several great nights out at The Pines this summer. Don't let the name "The Pines Miniature Golf & Arcade," fool you. The mini golf course is gone and the arcade is very minimal. This is a great place for an excellent meal.

Some of the best frozen custard I've ever had. If you come, you have to get it. The German food is also good and the atmosphere indoors is clean and chill. But, I repeat, try the custard.

first off they have converted the "golf" and still have a very tiny "arcade" but they have converted it to a money maker with three things: 1. Ice Cream that is Amazing, the main reason we go. 2. The Golf area has been converted to an outdoor music venue that has live music on weekends that makes you stick around for #3. 3. Outdoor bar (one inside too) and pretty tasty food!.

Great little establishment on HWY 51. Can't miss it, as it has the mini golf and in the summer is packed with cars. This is a great find for the Northwoods and the Pines has great pizza, loony bread (yum), salads and their special German food. Something for everyone, not to mention for those of us who grew up around there it is for sure on the spots you need reservations for on holidays and summer weekends. Ice cream is WI made, arcade, good service, owners will remember you and watch your family grow up. Now is open more as their own children have grown up. Is a must in Mercer!

We love the Pines! Erv & Margie are great hosts and they have the best fish fry in town on Friday nights! They are also famous for their German food (check out their menu!) and draw loyal patrons from all over the area. There is also a miniature golf course on the property, and picnic tables outside for outdoor dining in warm weather. The dining room has large spacious windows and there is also a bar. Comfy & inviting, it's one of our regular places for lunch too.

I ordered six Christmas Cookie tins from Marge at Sweetie Pines on Tuesday before Christmas. They all went out the next day and arrived on Friday and Saturday, before Christmas! Everyone loved the cookies and this will become an annual tradition for our friends... will be ordering many more next Christmas!!!

What makes this place is the ice cream. Pizza is edible. Have not tried any other food here. Though they are usually packed, and the portions are large But the ice cream is really what does it for me. I don't think there is anywhere else in town to go for it, and it really is good ice cream.
