Great independent sub shop located near the university that we literally stumbled upon (with the help of other yelpers of course) as we were determined not to have another fast food lunch along the highway on our way back to Minneapolis from Madison. Menu is a bit confusing but we ended up each getting a sub that had some amazing sauce/oil on it that was not like anything else I've had in the "sub category" - in fact it is a disservice to even call it a sub as it was close to the best sandwich I've had in a long, long time. Will definitely have to keep this one in mind for our next road trip.

The atmosphere is pretty neat and cozy. It seems like a nice place to work on some homework or relax and read a book for a bit. The music is trendy and isn't too loud or too quiet. Perfect place for a conversation with some friends. I didn't eat anything, but I had a cold press iced coffee with caramel flavoring and it was pretty tasty. My girlfriend ordered a French soda and I tried some. Very good! Not sure what kind it was, but she swears by this place'a French sodas so I'll take her word for it that they're all delicious. If you're here in Menomonie than this place is worth a stop.

Out of this world warm hoagies and delicious soup -- their Beer Cheese is THE BEST!! Live music some nights during the week. Located in Downtown - close to campus and lots of shopping!

I'm a foodie from Seattle and I thought this was great food! Sandwich, soup and chili were all wonderful! Really amazing bread.

I don't live in Menomonie, just work there at Stout, so I don't really know all that the town has to offer. My guess is that Acoustic is probably one of the better places to get a bite to eat or a coffee. I'm not a big coffee fan, but do like a café au lait with sugar. The only thing I've not liked is that their hot sandwiches are microwaved, which makes the bread limp. However, I think I'm an old 30-year old fuddy duddy and that this place is probably good with the kids, with their rock and roll music and long hair. I do like the building in which they're located. I think it's a former Masonic temple. The place is old, wooden, and has a gas fireplace, which is nice to sit by in the winter. Large glass windows face two streets, so it's still bright enough despite the dark decor.

Love the Acoustic Cafe! One of my favorite spots in Menomonie. My favorite item is the turkey and hummus Pita - it comes with a generous portion of guacamole, a nice addition. I always get a soup when I go - the Beer Cheese is fantastic! I've had the Hoagie which is also good if you're looking for a sandwich. I love the Italian Sodas too, its a nice treat. If you're looking for specialty coffee, I wouldn't recommend it, every time I've given it a shot it tastes burnt and quite unpleasant. They recently added some better lighting in the space giving it a better atmosphere than it had before. Over-all, this place offers a great value for what you get as well as consistency in it's menu selections.

This place had amazing pita wraps and the chai was spot on. Highly recommended!

The hot hoagies. They would give it five stars even if everything else was horrible. But it isn't! The atmosphere is amazing, the service is prompt, and the coffee is amazing, along with the food! The wait can be long if you go at peak hours, but it is worth it!

Having gone to St. Olaf, in Northfield, MN, I'm familiar with this type of restaurant, as "Hogan Brothers" is owned by the same people who own "Acoustic Cafe". The sandwiches are great w/ their "secret sauce" (italian-style oil?), and actually feel slightly healthy, as an alternative to a burger and fries. Their 1/3 sandwich and cup of soup is a great deal as well, b/c their soups are also great. Love this place, but of course my only qualm is that you wait a bit for your meal - don't expect fast food, as the wait in line can be long and the wait at the table can be long, but as long as you are prepared for this, you'll love it! Love the support for the arts on the walls as well.

Trying to park was a nightmare, waited in line for 5-7 minutes, receipt said food was paid for at 12:32, got half sandwhich n soup at 12:56- 24 minutes WOW. Food was fantastic and priced great.

Very good hot hoagies, pita sandwiches and soups. Menu is limited to these, but they also have coffee and specialty drinks.

I love love love! the Acoustic Cafe. Their sandwiches are one of the best I've had. SOOooOOOOo tasty. Seriously though really good food, coffee, and snacks like cookies and krispy treats. They also display local art from time to time, and the cafe also has a cozy little nook with a fireplace and some comfy chairs. I've gotten into the habit of coming in weekly to get day old bread for .99 cents. It is still delicious and it comes in a pack of 3 big loafs just under 1 dollar how could I say no? They have street parking which is very easy to find and the best sandwiches . . . well by far anywhere.

A cool place to go especially if you are hauling ass across Wisconsin (going from Wausau to Minneapolis). I've been there a couple of times: A relaxed coffee house atmosphere with friendly staff, interesting decor, house plants galore. A welcoming hangout for University students. The soup is excellent; the sandwiches very good. A few minor things detract like uncomfortable booths to sit in. But a great place to relax. Value for the money: 5 of 5 stars.

My boyfriend grew up in Menomonie so every time we come back to visit his mother we make at least one stop (usually more) to the Acoustic Cafe. They really do have the best coffee in town and the atmosphere is cool and casual. We are a couple of old farts, so I guess we are reliving our youth pretending like it is meant for us, I think being right across the street from the college makes it the place to go for study groups, and just to hang out during the school year. We are more often in town in the summer or during holiday periods so it is never crowded when we are there. All in all, any Memomonie visit is not complete without a stop into the Acoustic Cafe!

Best all-around place in town. The coffee is great, and has soup and sandwiches all day! Hoagies OR Pitas satisfy a huge hunger! The atmosphere is chill, with the exception of lunchtime when it's kinda crazy. Night time, it's a great place to meet with people, dates, or study. Summertime has outdoor dining, and is where I've spent many an afternoon. I can't forget to mention that they have live music most weekends, and also serve beer! Linie's on tap! It's not as cheep to drink here as the bars, but the fact they have it makes it awesome! Have to check this one out!!!

The staff was super helpful when looking at the menu. They had great options available of soup and sandwich meals with many different types of teas, coffees, and smoothies. The environment was fun and relaxing all while getting a large and completely delicious meal for a reasonable price. Highly reccomended! :)

Great coffee, gluten free pita, good soups and sandwiches... Nice guacamole and hummus options... Yummy smoothies to boot. Nachos are questionable though... No lettuce or tomatoes or chili just straight up cheese on your chips :( The drinks are the highlight here in my eyes! Menu is nice, but the food needs more pizazz. Great local option for a simple lunch:)

I have been coming here for years! I love it, and am sad to be moving away and not getting to have it as often! The turkey and hummus hoagie has always been my favorite option! And I usually go the soup/sandwich combo and get the chili and add cheese and sour cream, YUM!! The French sodas are also great! I suggest a peach and vanilla flavored one, so great and tasty! The service is also great, and occasionally you get a less friendly person waiting on you, but I've noticed that those ones don't stick around for long-so that's kinda nice too!

Quirky and fun, yet with a somewhat intimate atmosphere, Acoustic has something for everyone. Their café style food menu includes a wide selection of pitas, hoagies, soups, coffees and desserts. Acoustic frequently has live music from local musicians, and when live entertainment isn't on the calendar, the decor is both whimsical and entertaining on its own. If you find yourself in Menomonie, give Acoustic a taste, and a listen, and enjoy!

Despite my 4-star review, I have a problem with the service here. Most of the people here are nice and get the job done, but some of them need to show a little more respect for their customers. I came here one Friday night and called in my order early because i had a feeling it would be busy. Of course it was, because it was a Friday and they had a live band playing (which are never usually that pleasant to listen to, I'm sorry to say). I got there and paid for my meal and was told to wait because it wasn't ready yet, which was fine because I had only called a minute before arriving. So 10 minutes passed, then 20, so I went up to the counter to ask about my food. It wasn't ready yet? Anyway, I waited 40 minutes for them to realize the bag sitting on the counter was my food. They gave it to me cold, and didn't apologize. I would cut anyone some slack on a busy night, but this was just unacceptable. What's worse is that I posted on their webpage about it and got responses saying I shouldn't be complaining because they were serving so many people, and it was rude of me to whine about it. This makes me want to never go back. But they're one of the only restaurants in Menom with good food and fast service, so I feel like I don't have a choice to some extent. But speaking of the food, it is good, and warm, and comforting, and cheap. So I still go from time to time, but only for the food. The cookies are all pretty to-die-for. Some of the best I've had. Hope no one complains to me about this review as well...

This place has fantastic food! Hoagies, wraps, and pitas plus soup/chili and salads. They also have smoothies, ice cream and coffee. Oh, and nachos. I had 1/3 ham hoagie with a cup of beer cheese and the hubs had a Pastrami pita and a cup of tomato basil soup plus we had an order of their super (or was that supreme) nachos. Ice tea for both of us. Our bill was around $23. The ambience and food were exactly what I was looking for. The two people working were very friendly. I wish this place was in Fargo, ND close to where I work as I know I'd be in every day. Oh, they also serve at least beer, I wasn't interested in drinking so I didn't pay attention to what is offered. I'd definitely go back.

I'll take a good independent over a chain any day, and the Acoustic Cafe is good. Give yourself a minute to absorb their interesting menu and combo choices like 1/3 or 1/2 a hoagie, soup, salad etc etc. Three or more tasty soup choices and good coffee. And don't overlook the chili. We had a Dalai Lama Special, "one with everything", and other than it could have been a little temperature hotter, was one of the better bowls I have ever had, the sour cream and onions transformed. Looked like lots of fresh, even healthyish desert combos and sweets also. Spacious, well-lighted, lots of glass and in an interesting historic building. The Masons were your Grandfather's spooky magic 4H; an excuse to drink like fishing. Interesting local art on the walls. If I was a student here, this is where I would move my center. Be here.

I think that Acoustic Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat when I visit friends in Menomonie, Wisconsin. They have lots of fresh and healthy options - hoagies, salads, pitas and soups. You can mix and match the choices with their deals for 1/2 salad 1/2 soup, or 1/3, 1/2 or full hoagies, etc. They also have delicious smoothies and ice cream! Their bakery items are so good as well! I got the cranberry white chocolate scone and chocolate chip banana bread. The scone was my favorite! With not many places to choose from in Menomonie, I think that Acoustic is a great choice if you want to have a sandwich/salad/soup meal! Or stop in and get a smoothie and baked item. It's a really cute place and the employees are super friendly!

Went to this cafe yesterday for the first time and loved it. The portions are huge, and for only $4.60 you can get half a hoagie (which should be considered a full sand which) because it's cut into two rather large portions. The prices are very reasonable and the hoagies come with a great combo of toppings, including their "special sauce" you just tell them what kinda of meat you would like and what you don't want on the sand which. The iced chai is also very good and the atmosphere is adorable and cozy. I definitely will be back.

Great college town lunch spot. On a jaunt through cow country this place caught my eye and I was hoping to hoagie my hangover. But my wife is Israeli so the hummus and pita perked my interest instead. Is that racist? Anyway, I dove feet first into that and it was great.

I have been coming here regularly for 15 years, I love this place! The hot tuna, hummus, or ham hoagies are my favorite, along with great soups! The chili or the tomato bisque are fantastic. On top of great food, there's a nice beer selection, coffees, Italian sodas, ice cream, anything one might want from a true local favorite.
