I was excited to try out the WeatherVane as I have heard many positive reviews. I stopped in early one Saturday morning for breakfast. I secured a coveted window seat and proceeded to enjoy the sunny morning on Main St Menasha. This place is an excellent addition to downtown. Homey, friendly, clean and very inviting. Perfect for a pot of coffee, good conversation and a decent breakfast. I had the scrambler and my GF had an omelet. Pretty standard breakfast fare, nothing over the top but still pretty good. Prices were decent (it seems breakfast food is always a little pricey IMO no matter where you go). The service was super friendly and fast. You could tell this is a family business where the family is there and putting their hearts into delivering a good product. The WeatherVane is an excellent alternative to the other breakfast greasy-spoon in town...and I didnt smell like bacon grease for the rest of the day...not that it is always a bad thing to smell like bacon grease but you know what I mean!

We love to sit outside with our two dogs and watch the world go by while enjoying a great breakfast. The waitstaff is fantastic and the owner usually pops out to see how our meal was. A Menasha treasure!

Fantastic food. I've had a couple of their omlette types, the french toast (the best of the lot), pancakes, and the weekend buffet is a value. My only complaint, with all this fine cooking, is the coffee. It's run-of-the-mill and you can find better in some convenience stores. I'll still be going back, though.

Very disappointed with the service today. I waited over 30 minutes for an omelet I never got, and had to settle for the buffet. I was told 3 times by the server my omelet was "going". Their excuse was a large to go order. They compt one of our buffets, however, in my opinion this was not enough. My reason is the lies we were told, and the fact I did not want the buffet!

Ok guys, here's the deal on Weathervane. Best breakfast spot in the Valley if you want straightforward but not gourmet breakfast, friendly people, and nice environment. Pat is the very visible owner and his crew execute the basics really well. When I order eggs over medium, they're consistently cooked right over many visits. The bacon is solid quality which is rare at many restaurants and is prepared well. The French Toast is my favorite simply because of the flavor. I suspect a little extra vanilla - it's really good. I heard the Pancakes are good - not my scene. The american fries are very good if that's your thing and the hash browns deliver. The coffee is ok - competent but doesn't stand out. The lovely Maureen orders the same food I do so I can't cover dishes outside the basic breakfast. I can't comment on the buffet. Not my gig but plenty of people go for that at Weathervane. Some people may walk away with a "Meh, it was a basic breakfast" but the quality of the food and the consistent quality preparation over many visits makes it better than what you get at the other breakfast places in the area. Wait!! I forgot. Last time I was there, I asked Pat what his specialty was and he said the Eggs Benedict. I'm usually not adventure breakfast but I ordered it and the flavor was out of this world. If you like eggs and bacon, french toast, or Eggs Benedict, sprint.

First time going there. Nice place to go to for breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. We waited about ten minutes to be seated. We had the buffet. Good selection and plenty of it. The pricing is about average with other places we go for breakfast.

Great locally owned restaurant in cool historic building. Close to some nice boutiques and shops in downtown Menasha. Portion sizes were generous. Clean bathrooms. It's a winner!

Great atmosphere in a loft like space. Great service too. And my vegetable eggs benedict, hold the swiss add the canadian bacon was awesome. Perfectly runny yolk. Loved it. Breakfast for three was $30 before tip. Held me until dinner. I will definitely be back.

They have one of the best breakfasts. Their added buffet is incredible. We have recommended the Weathervane to all our friends.

Two things that didn't work for me: 1) In cold weather, avoid a seat in the narrow area by the entrance, even if you have to wait for a different table. Brrr! 2) They played classic rock--very loudly, almost at a bar level. I don't mind classic rock but it didn't fit the otherwise pleasance atmosphere of the place, and I walked out with a dang earworm! The service was excellent and food was good--although the potato pancakes were less crispy than I expected; more like compressed hash browns.
